Naruto the Elemental Star 2 Outline: The Elemental War

Sorry it took so long but it kept going back and forth to write and just finally finished it. I left large chunks blank near the end since I spent too much time planning for a story I would not write. This should be enough to give the readers a rough idea how I would write the second one if I was not burned out with the idea and closure if left wonder what will happen to an incomplete story. I hope you like it and if you want to continue it, feel free to do so.

Initial Invasion

It starts with the invasion of Iwa by the Uzumaki forces.

Ōnoki of Two Scales leads a counterattack with a 1/4 of the surviving Stone Forces to buy the rest to escape

Ōnoki is killed by Yokoshima Uzumaki

Kurotsuchi leads the escape and assumes commands and plans to start a resistance group.

3 Months Later

Team Vixen, minus Naruto, are at a campsite after ambushing a Whirlpool Empire patrol group in what was Earth Country.

Give the team to lay out exposition: the conquest of Earth Country along with several smaller countries. How there is a rumor of them being converted to concentration camps to fuel the Uzumaki war machine. The Akatsuki are being used as a vanguard force to break allied front lines. How Grass Country and the few remaining free countries joined Fire Country and their allies in the Allied Powers against Whirlpool Alliance. And they are currently low on manpower as they spread, holding several fronts at once, with their friends at multiple fronts.

Team 6, aka Team Spirit at the Ame Front near Iron Country, recently promoted Elite Jōnin Revan Roth.

Team 9, aka Team Guy, is running training programs for resistance groups deep in enemy territory.

Team 7, aka Team Redemption, without Kakashi, is helping Water Country with its defenses. While Kakashi was recently reassigned to ANBU.

Team 10, aka Team Detective without Asuma, was doing missions centered around finding traitors and spying on people of interest.

Team 8, aka, A-Team, has split, with Shino and Kiba, with their clans running resonance and sabotage missions with their clans. While Ami and Hayate, and Asuma were with Team Vixen.

Hinata also expressed worry for Naruto as she is pushing herself hard in training and even training now using seals to muffle her training.

Team Vixen then went into alert of approaching figures and alerted the camp. Only to find it was Kurenai escorting Fox Spirit, Konohamaru, and Hanabi, Team Vixens' newest Genin Team, Team 11. Kurenai also dropped off a messenger scroll detailing a sensitive mission, brought in fear of the enemy intercepting Leaf communication.

Kurenai leaves as the highest rank leaders, Elite Jōnin Naruto, Asuma, and Hayate, read the scroll in private. At the same time, Hinata, Tukiko, Haku, with support from Ami, began helping Team 11 settle in. It also allows a brief moment to discuss what enemies they are facing and their battle tactics. As well as enemy conscripted soldiers.

Later, Naruto, Asuma, and Hayate explain their mission, finding and escorting Rock Force's remnants to safety. It was a hand all deck as they needed everyone, no matter how sick it made Naruto and the other younger veterans send fresh Genin to battle.

Leaf Forces were able to find the Rock Forces being harassed by Uzumaki forces. Included Tsuchikage Kurotsuchi, Elite Jōnin Zokusai Kokuei, and Jōnin Sunao Kokuei. Therefore, the latter two recognize Team Vixen and Team 11, and vice versa.

Most were machines, but a few were conscripted soldiers that Fox Spirit learned the hard way to show no mercy. When one that was around her age was on the ground. Begging for her to kill him, so his family would not be punished for being captured. Fox Spirit refused until he forced the issue.

They learn about the concentration camps working with undesirable and uncooperative adults by working them to death and gathering raw materials for the war machine. While children and desirable adults that surrender are taken away to be incorporated into the Uzumaki war machine at low-rank positions from clerk to conscripted troops.

They cannot do anything but send it to high command before they are forced to head back to friendly territory.

Team Vixen turned into Ninja Rangers

Team Vixen is eventually shipped back to Konoha, where Tsunade is waiting to give them their next set of missions. She probably explains that the war is not going well and are being pushed back by meters every day. And the various generals and commanders have identified the source in the overwhelming number of robots and conscripted troops. Along with heavy hitters of elite able to cause significant damage to their infrastructure. They also realized that is their weakness as the population being

Therefore, instead of Tsunade and various other Allied Kages came up with a solution. They will take their elite forces and return to their roots of being ninja instead of elite vanguards for the army. With the sole purpose of going behind enemy lines to either provide assistance to allied or rebel cells in Uzumaki territory or just cause as much damage as possible.

She informed Team Vixen they were all promoted to the rank of Elite Jōnin with the right to take command of ninjas as they saw fit to win the war. They were designated as Ranger Squad 7, the Dancing Vixens.

Tsunade also gave them their first mission, attacking a newly established factory within what was once Earth Country. Destroying a logistic center 50 km behind enemy lines along with Earth and Fire Country. Intelligence suggests that destroying the center will disrupt their supply lines and allow Fire and Lightning to enable a counterattack to regain lost territory.

The mission is agreed upon, and Team Vixen moves out to take the factory and is supported by three ANBU.

The mission gets complicated when it is discovered the chain is under protection by an older Uzumaki General known for using trap seals (Uzumaki Seal General) to win battles and secure conquered territory. And the Akatsuki Kakazu, which later was there as a cross between a bounty hunter and tax collector. Going after people that the Uzumaki wanted dead and collecting revenue to pay for the Uzumaki War machine.

The plan was to split up. Team Vixen's Genin would sneak and plant explosive seals. The clones of Naruto used to disarm the seal traps the Uzumaki employed. While the older members served as a distraction and to kill two high-priority targets.

The battle turned great at first as the other Whirlpool forces became low-level grunts. Still, things got complicated with General Tamogami Uzumaki (Seal Master) and Kakazu.

Naruto and Kakashi enter into an elemental battle with Kakazu. At the same time, Hinata, Tukiko, and Haku engage the Uzumaki Seal General with ANBU to support or intercept enemy ninjas.

Uzumaki Seal General proves deadly as not only did he lead the ANBU to their deaths through his traps. He also carried scrolls and seals on his suite to fire off deadly attacks on the fly. As well as cut himself to draw new seals, using Uzumaki regeneration to heal from all wounds.

The battle ended with Kakazu dead and the facility destroyed. Still, General Tamogami Uzumaki escaped using seals that allowed him to fly like a rocket ship.

To Wave Again

After a major victory, Tsunade sent the team to Wave Country to help reinforce run interference for the combined Water, Fire, and militia forces. However, intelligence suggests that the Uzumaki plan to invade Wave as a beachhead against both Water County and Fire Country.

Team Vixen has a brief reunion with Inari, Tsunami, and newly elected leader, President Tazuna. Team Kakashi, aka Redemption, is there. Also, part of the Fire Country regiment is Tukiko's on and off again romantic interest, Lieutenant Yui.

Intelligence underestimated the size of the invasion lead by Elite Jōnin Condor Uzumaki and Kabuto Yakushi.

Condor Uzumaki proves to be an expert general. Using a combination of illusion seals to hit a decoy fleet of expendables for Team Vixen and naval forces to attack. While the actual army attacks through a combination of air, sea, and space drop moved with minimal resistance through fog cover.

Robots do the fighting at first to soften up their foes.

Kabuto then reveals the fruit of his labor, Berserkers, undead creatures that are mutilated corpses repurposed into shock troops with a moderate amount of Chakra. They are meant to cause fear among the allied forces to cause chaos as anger and dread rattled the allied forces.

Also mentions Kabuto considers his work superior to Karin, but Condor disagrees. As he points out, her successes in cybernetics, engineering, and phycological warfare. The latter makes the populous meek enough to control and break prisoners at a faster rate.

Condor then leads the charge with the full force to annihilate the militia and 50% of Fire Country forces, forcing Kakashi to call for a retreat. Tazuna is killed, and Wave surrenders to the Uzumaki.

In response, Naruto initiates a backup plan. It destroys the Great Naruto Bridge, making it, so an invasion force has to use transports to make it to the mainland to win. Yui carries out the explosions and escapes to safety thanks to the timely pickup by Team Vixen's fighter Fox Shadow.

Team Vixen comfort Inari as they retreat to safety.

Sniff and Find

After failing to hold Wave Country, Team Vixen is sent on a series of missions of destroying enemy supply depots and factories to slow the Uzumaki advance. Unfortunately, due to the dangers, Team 11 was left back in Konoha.

It works in slowing down the Uzumaki forces to a standstill.

It was later determined that it was due to Konoha having a traitor who got his hands on Team Vixen's next mission to hit a communication hub. Therefore Sky-nins and Rain-nins would wait to intercept and capture Team Vixen.

Meanwhile, X-Gen was sitting around when they got mixed in finding the traitor with Team 10. Eventually, find out it was disgruntled Hyūga from the Main Branch (Insert Name). A man who betrayed them for a promise for the evaluation of the Hyūga clan as Daimyō of Fire Country.

Fight breaks out, and Hanabi performs the killing blow on the traitor.

Konohamaru finds out about the plan to lead Team Vixen into a trap, and Fox Spirit warns them in time, revealing she has a summoning contract thanks for being a student under Naruto Ryū.

Mission aborted, and Team Vixen returns home, thanking her students. Team 11 is nicknamed Team Fox Hound.

Lovecraftian Village

The war is now under an official standstill as both sides for a month, with both sides bogged down in trench warfare.

That was until a series of villages in a valley between Fire and Waterfall country, 25 km (15.35 mi) from the front, began to go silent.

Fearing a possible infiltration behind their lines, Team Vixen and Anko, and Asuma are sent to investigate by Leaf forces. They are informed that a promoted Special Jōnin Fū and a squad of Waterfall forces are sent to investigate.

Tension is high as Asuma blames Anko for convincing Kurenai not to retire to take care of their kid. Anko slowly begins to resent Asuma for trying to butt in her friend's life.

The ninjas make it to the village to find something is off. As not only was the village quiet and devoid of life, but so was the forest around as they could not find insects.

They tried to determine what happened when Fū appeared and told everyone to run before a trap could be initiated. They escaped together with Fū, who has seen better days.

Fū explained how some cult that follows this Mother taken over and began sacrificing not only the people and wildlife in the valley but soldiers and ninjas they kidnap off the line. She also explained how her entire team, not listening to the sensor of the group, walked right into the trap and died because of it.

Colonel Nine of Nine filled in the gap they hoped to empower the Mother to escape her trapped dimension.

Realizing the danger, they go underground to stop the cultist from summoning the Mother.

They managed to get far and were about finish setting up the explosives when Asuma, continuing the argument with Anko, caused the young woman to snap. Yelling at him and calling him an idiot to force Kurenai to do what he wants instead of supporting her, just as she supported him. As well as how selfish he was trying to get Kurenai to giving up a career she worked so hard on after taking a hit having his child.

This causes the cultist to become aware of the Leaf-nins and attack. Thus, forcing them to detonate the explosives early and try to escape the collapsing tunnels.

They ran and ran, and they made it to the exit when Anko saw one of the cultists moved to strike Asuma in the back. She hesitated for a moment, and that was ultimately enough for the man to make the killing blow.

Anko was able to kill the cultist and get a still breathing Asuma out. Still, the damage was too much considering the attack ripped off his entire back, including his spinal column.

Asuma asked Anko to deliver a message to Kurenai. Telling her he loved her and was sorry he was trying to force her to give up on something she worked so hard.

It was a tearful day when Anko relayed Asuma's message to Kurenai in person.

However, it reveals that the Allied Forces' actions only slowed down the ritual but did not stop it as it is revealed they have many such sites across the world.

Heart of the Samurai, Path of the Ninja

Lightning Country's intelligence reveals Ame, backed by Uzumaki's mechanized forces, is going to invade Iron Country, a powerful country that only uses Samurai. General Tzu and Hokage Tsunade are not confident they will hold without help, so a company of troops and a dozen squads are sent to modernize and advise Iron Country to better holdout against

Lightning Country sends Yugito Nii, and Killer Bee and his squad of former students, Jōnin Samui Nii, Elite Chūnin Karui, and Elite Chūnin Omoi

Fire Country sends Team 6 and Team 7.

Tensions are high as the Samurai of Iron Country despise Ninjas. Especially those that use swords as their primary weapons like Killer Bee, Samui, Karui, and Omoi. Though they have a deeper hatred for the Roth Clan for abandoning the samurai lifestyle for the ninja one.

Learn a bit of the Roth clan and their history with the head clan, Taria, who the leader of Iron Country, Shogun Mifune, is a part of. He made it clear the only reason he is letting them in with great relucent. Still, He stated, "The Enemy of My Enemy, Is Not Exactly My Friend."

It also does not help that the ninjas, soldiers, and even the other country's Samurai do not look kindly at Iron Country's rigid adherence to the Bushidō Code. To the point that if "peasants" are not fast enough, the Samurai kills them on the spot.

Things only worsen when one of the soldiers brings supplies, angered one of the Samurai for supposed disrespect, and tries to kill him, only for Yui to fight back. Yui could subdue the Samurai but was then forced to force to kill him when two of his buddies tried to intervene with guns. Finally, Yui got to cover and held on long enough for Tukiko Uchiha to arrive and kill the two Samurai by burning their bodies to ash.

Arguments break out as Haku and Night Wolf had to intervene as Mifune is not ringing in his Samurai, and alliance forces are not about to turn over their best fighters for a country that is increasingly becoming a liability.

Soon automated scouts and sensors detect a massive invasion force heading their way, and battle plans are drawn.

It was not long before the Alliance forces devised battleplans for holding Iron Country but had a problem deciding which plan to go with. One made by Naruto that allies would take an equal amount of casualties. One made by Roth was similar to Naruto but would ensure the allied suffered light casualties. Still, the Samurai of Iron Country would suffer massive casualties.

Hinata, Haku, Tukiko, Yui, Night Wolf, Bastila, Killer Bee, Karui, and Omoi were against Revan's plan. Mostly due to moral reasons, though for Omoi, Yui, and Tukiko main fear was Iron Country would figure it out and switch sides. On the other hand, Revan and Yugito were for it, for they feel they are just arming a potential enemy in the next war. Naruto stays quiet.

The group leaves, thinking that they are going with Naruto's plan. Still, Revan, Yugito, and Naruto left making phone calls to their superior, seemingly to relay their battle plans and call for reinforcements.

A few days later, Mifune starts talking to Revan about how much of a disgrace her clan is, giving up the honor of the Samurai Code for the way of the ninja. While Revan snaps back, calling him an old man that uses his code to pretend to be righteous when he uses it as an excuse to lord over others. Night Wolf barely keeps Revan from attacking Mifune; he was just hoping to legally kill her to clean what he saw as a slight to his clan when the Uzumaki's forces attack.

The battle, at first, seems to go as Naruto plan. However, several hours later, it was quickly revealed to follow Revan's plan, as the Samurai took heavier casualties.

Much to the horror of ninjas, Mifune, as a veteran general, figured it out and tried to attack Roth, exclaiming they were trying to weaken Iron Country. Revan tried to explain her innocence while fighting back as Night Wolf took care of Mifune's guards.

Eventually, Mifune realizes he could not beat Revan and runs for it. Night Wolf wanted to go after him, but Revan stopped him, stating he would be taken care of.

Mifune was halfway to his nearest allies, planning to switch sides, when two assassins dressed in Uzumaki uniforms and weapons appeared and killed him. The last thing he heard was hearing how they killed all the Colonels and Generals of Iron Country.

They then made an "attempt" to attack the Fire and Lightning leadership but were intercepted by Yugito backed by Haku, and Tukiko forced them away.

Killer Bee was able to take control of Iron Country and lead their forces to victory.

After the battle, and puppet leadership was decided for Iron Country with allied forces allowed to help modernize the country that the majority of the group confronted Revan and Yugito.

It was quickly revealed that Revan and Yugito knew they were going with Revan's plan and those assassins to further cripple Iron Country to turn into an allied puppet state. However, they thought they alone went against their back, but Naruto shocked them all to reveal they didn't make the call for the plan. She did.

She also revealed she called in her mother Kushina and her half-sister Naruko to gather information and realize they were planning to take enemy territory to create a dictatorship that would threaten allied countries. So, Naruto decided to have Kushina and Naruko assassinated the leadership while the battle crippled Iron Country. Saying she did not want to deal with the modern Soviet Union.

The battle ends with a sad affair as Revan looks at her clan's former homeland and walkway with an unsure Night Wolf as they keep themselves somewhat at a distance from each other.

Down Time

This is sort of filler to help catch up on what the characters have been doing in between the war as Team Vixen is forced to take a rest.

The team trained to perfect the skills of themselves and the Genin under them.

Naruto hangs out with her mother and half-sister. But, we learned, Naruko was having difficulty adapting to her new life. Feeling she only feels truly alive during combat missions. Kushina feels guilty for she does not feel she is making up the time lost to Naruto. Naruko feels like family after years of not being able to interfere. Naruko turns into a killer. Unsure if I will have it resolve here or later.

Naruto was going on dates with Hinata, while Hinata deals with inner clan politics with Hanabi, especially the fallout with the traitor.

Tukiko spends time with her clan, Mikoto still running things while Itachi's health is still deteriorating.

Haku catches up with her father, Zabuza, who is getting married to Mei. Unsure to feel happy or sad, he is moving on without her.

Fox Spirit and Konohamaru try to act like kids but find it difficult due to the bloodshed they are witnessing.

Ends with the girls getting together with Anko and Kurenai to toast to another month of survival. The girls notice Anko and Kurenai seem to be getting close to each other.

The war rages on as they return to the field.

A Wild Dog Hunt

Kiba found an enemy camp and stole battle plans for a major operation called "Thunder Strike." He attempted to escape with the plans but was discovered and killed by a trap laid out by General Tamogami Uzumaki. His dog, Akamaru, injured, laid unconscious near Kiba as Tamogami searched Kiba's body.

Kiba is officially reported missing three days later, and his sister Hana is assigned to find him. Team Vixen is sent as a backup in case they need to rescue him.

They search the war-torn lands for any inkling where Kiba, almost falling for a trap as a more fanatic, Hana began to worry for her baby brother.

They also met up with Team 9, assisting a resistant group. Kiba was given some information about unusual movements the Uzumaki were making. They also saw Kiba, who went to scout out an Uzumaki Supply Depot.

They went to find the place was abandon and bobby trap, and they nearly lost Konohamur and Fox Spirit.

They barely escaped the place, and Team Vixen was about to call when they heard a dog winning to find Akamaru standing guard over his master whose been dead for a week.

Hana could not stop crying when Akamaru soon joined his master. Finally, they collected the remains to be buried.

Shino, Ami, Hayate, and Tsume were given the bad news over comms, and they, too, would grieve over a lost comrade.

Meanwhile, the Uzumaki was revealing they were about to launch "Operation Thunderstorm." A Blitzkrieg invasion of Lightning Country.

Thunder and Lightning

The invasion of Lightning Country begins, with Deidara followed by Sky Forces bombing everything in their path to Kumo. At the same time, Uzumaki and Rain forces take ground.

Allied forces rush to slow down the invasion as the field of Lightning Country becomes craters and the screaming of the dying.

This arc focuses mainly on the various ground battles happening around. We see the Raikage, Killer Bee, Zambezi Bestia, Yugito Nii, and their teams rushed to hold the lines as they confront robots and puppets controlled by Sasori.

It was there as the surviving Rookie Ninjas as a chance to show how much they had grown and changed due to the war. Some are angry for lost loved ones, others cold veterans, and so on.

Team Vixen takes to the skies in their fighter to try to take out the bomber, with Team Repetition tagging along to take down the flying blimps used by Sky Ninjas.

Kakashi confronts the Sky General, astonished he is still alive before they fight, with Kakashi noticing something off.

Meanwhile, on the ground, Gaara confronts Sasori while backed by Temari, Kankurō, and their Genin team, finding out he killed the Kazekage before his father. It breaks down into an epic fight with Kankurō being the shield, Temari keeping many puppets at bay with her wind, the Genin providing support, and Gaara being the muscle with his sand. It ends with Gaara crushing Sasori to death, turning the battle to the allied favor.

With ground forces cut by a third instance, the Allied troops took no time rallying to push them back out of Lightning with a great cost. Yugito losses an arm, and Elite Jōnin Inferno and Elite Chūnin Omi, former leader of Team Spirit, parish.

The battle ends with Deidara killed by Team Vixen with their fighter. The Sky General escaping before Kakashi puts the finishing blow. However, Kakashi figured out the secret during the fight that this was not the same Sky General he fought, but his replacement.

Weeks later, Lightning Country is fully liberated, and it was then that the leaders set a meeting time to discuss how to go on the offensive.

In between

Outside of the invasion of Rain Country and its capital Ame. I don't have anything planned further as this was where I began to lose interest. I was planning a bit of back and forth and until the invasion, but nothing substantial until Snake Hunt.

Snake Hunt

Anko enlisted Team Vixen and Ranger for a dangerous mission. Rumor has it of a secret research facility headed by Kabuto Yakushi and Karin Uzumaki.

Team Vixens Genin, soon to be promoted Chūnin behind with a recovering Team Redemption to help relief in Kumo.

Anko, feeling frustrated that Orochimaru's legacy never disappears, is gun-holed in killing Kabuto, much to Kurenai and later her former students' concern.

The group makes their way to the unknown lands deep in Uzumaki Empire territory to perform the strategical strike.

Meanwhile, Karin has noted Kabuto is becoming more and more obsessed with souls and corpses. Therefore, she investigates the man and finally finds the evidence she needs to confirm he is looking to resurrect Orochimaru. She also receives an intelligence report suggesting Leaf forces found out about her base and sent Team Vixen to destroy the base. Therefore, Karin decided to take out multiple birds with another bird. She convinces Uzukage Yokoshima Uzumaki that Kabuto has become a liability and is allowed to deal with him.

Team Vixen arrives and sneaks into the base, slowly killing enemy combatants without alerting the whole base until they reach Kabuto. They do not. Karin was expecting them as she watched them through hidden cameras.

Team Vixen wanted to just perform a silent assignation, but Anko just could not contain her anger when she heard Kabuto talking to a familiar corpse about how soon he could resurrect his master once he found the key how.

Anko throws all she has to kill Kabuto, who unleashes the latest model of the Berserkers. Team Vixen holds them off as Anko goes in for the kill. It was an intense battle, but in the end, Anko kills Kabuto.

Karin then reveals herself to stab Anko in the back, forcing Hinata and Haku to rush to her aid. Karin used the opportunity to take Kabuto's research, thanking for killing such a liability to the Uzumaki and following her trap.

Naruto then used her latest Rasengan, the 'Fire Style: Rasenfurea Jutsu,' to create a mini star to burn their way as the base collapses on top of them.

Team Vixen escapes, but Anko is crippled, only walking for a limp and thus no longer allowed fieldwork. Of course, Anko blames herself, and while it's kind of was, they could not fault her.

The Leaf-nins realized more spies must be to weed out, and the Uzumaki continues Kabuto's work.

End

Then comes the final stages of the war as all roads lead to the Uzumaki strongholds in the unknown lands in the south. Planed for brutal wars that lead to the liberation of several countries before making the push.

Along the way, they would discover the Mother's followers planned to used the final battle to sacrifice enough people to bring the Mother in.

The battle happens, it's a brutal three-way battle that ends with

I have not fully plan on if any of Naruto's friends or family die but do plan for Naruko and Kushina to have a final confrontation with Kushina's mother while there is a final battle to kill the Mother.

The war ends with a victory with a hint of reconstruction afterwards as countries are rebuilt or absorbed into the others. Possibly a cold war on the horizon with Lightening and Fire Country since they are now the two dominant powers and Lightening used the time to catch up to Fire Country's technology. But it ends with Naruto becoming Hokage and collection leader of the Alliance.
