Seifer strolled through Balamb Garden's hallways, his heart feeling lighter than ever before. The accidental time spell had inadvertently brought him closer to Zell, and he couldn't help but revel in the happiness that surged through him. The corridors seemed to gleam with newfound radiance as if the very walls were reflecting his inner joy.
As he approached the library, Seifer couldn't help but notice the small details he usually overlooked—the intricate designs etched into the wooden door, the soft whispers of turning pages that filled the air, and the distinct scent of old parchment that wafted through the room. It was as if he were experiencing the place for the first time, and everything seemed so much more vibrant.
Rinoa sat at a corner table, engrossed in her magical research. Seifer cleared his throat lightly to get her attention, and as she looked up, he couldn't contain the smile that spread across his face.
"Sup, Rinoa. You won't believe what happened," Seifer said with a genuine smile .
Rinoa raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Seifer's tone. "What happened? You look like you've seen a Chocobo fly."
Seifer laughed, his grin widening. "Almost as unbelievable. I got sent back in time, thanks to your little spell."
Rinoa's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, seriously? How did that even happen?"
Seifer decided to give her a summarized version of the events, leaving out some of the more personal details. "Yeah, it was a bit unexpected, but I'm not complaining. Actually, it gave me a chance to fix something I've been wanting to."
"Well that means I... Or the me that cast the spell underestimated the reverse. You see I thought it would be like casting slow or haste and..." She began to lay out her theory on the spell and why she wanted to develop something for Garden SEEDS to use should they be in danger on assignments.
As Rinoa continued to explain her magical research, Seifer's unease grew more pronounced. The unintentional time spell had taken him back only a day, but that magic reminded him of Ultimecia's malevolent influence and the dark days when he was under her control. He couldn't shake the haunting memories of his time as her pawn, especially the pain he felt when he fought against his friends and classmates. The memory that hurt the most was having to face Zell in battle, his mind clouded by Ultimecia's sorcery, unaware of the bond they could have shared.
Trying to push aside the heavy emotions that threatened to engulf him, Seifer forced a smile as he addressed Rinoa. "That sounds really interesting," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of melancholy. "But you know, dealing with certain types of magic can be dangerous."
Rinoa looked at him, concern evident in her eyes. "I understand, Seifer. I'll be careful."
Seifer appreciated her understanding, but he couldn't help but wish that he had been more cautious back then – that he had resisted Ultimecia's influence and reached out to Zell instead of fighting against him. If only his mind hadn't been clouded by her control, he might have done things differently. Maybe fought with them in stopping Ultimecia.
As he left the library, memories of the past weighed heavily on his heart. He was going to write those wrongs as best as he could. One of those he was working on now. His Zell.
"I wonder where my Pupu of a boyfriend is..." It didn't take long. The cafeteria of course. For someone that eats so much Zell has a beautiful body. A body that has visited Seifers dreams many nights. Zell usually worked out shirtless to Seifers annoyance, all those on lookers that his boyfriend seemed oblivious to. Seifer being one of them of course.
As Seifer approached the cafeteria, he spotted Zell sitting at a table with Selphie, their animated conversation evident in their enthusiastic gestures. Seifer couldn't help but grin as he watched his boyfriend's infectious energy light up the room, making him look even more captivating. He made his way to them, his necklace he had put on Zell on full display.
Selphie laughed at something Zell said, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Oh, Zell, you're such a riot! It's no wonder Seifer's head over heels for you!"
Zell's cheeks turned a rosy shade of pink as he scratched his head bashfully. "Heh, come on, Selphie."
Seifer couldn't resist playing along with Selphie's teasing, stepping closer with a smirk on his face. "You don't say," he said, putting his hand on his chin in mock thought. "Who would have seen that coming?"
Zell glanced at Seifer, catching onto the playful banter, and chuckled. "Hey Seifer."
Selphie giggled at their antics, thoroughly amused by their interaction. "You guys are adorable together! I'm so happy for you!"
Seifer smirked leaning toward Zell "If I could rename the GFs, I'd name one after you. Call it 'GF Zell, the Energy Bomb."
Zell raises an eyebrow, a playful smirk forming on his lips. "Oh yeah? What would my special move be then?"
Seifer leans in even closer, his voice a low whisper. "The 'Heartbreaker Punch,' of course. One flash of that dazzling smile, and anyone standing before you would be completely smitten."
Zell rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the happiness in his expression. "You're such a dork, Seifer."
Selphie grinned mischievously, clearly enjoying the dynamic between the two.As the cafeteria emptied out, Seifer and Zell found themselves in a quieter corner, basking in the glow of their blossoming romance. Their hands entwined effortlessly, fingers fitting perfectly together as they walked back towards Seifer's dormitory.
"You know, I had a really great day," Zell said, his voice filled with sincerity and happiness.
Seifer smiled warmly at him. "Me too. Today's been... something else."
They reached Seifer's dorm room, and he turned to face Zell, gently brushing a stray strand of hair from Zell's forehead. "Hey, do you want to spend the night with me?
Zell's eyes widened, his heart skipping a beat. He could hardly believe what he was hearing, his mind racing with all sorts of possibilities. But before he could let his imagination run wild, he swallowed hard and managed to ask, "Y-you mean like... ?"
Seifer chuckled softly, seeing the blush creeping up on Zell's cheeks. "Yeah, just sleeping, babe. Today has been a rollercoaster, and I want to rest with you close by. I don't want to let you go just yet."
Zell let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, calming down by Seifer's clarification. "Oh, okay, yeah. That sounds nice."
Seifer smirked playfully. "Of course, if you want to do more than just sleep, I wouldn't complain," he teased, winking at Zell.
Zell's blush deepened, and he playfully nudged Seifer's shoulder. "Geez, you really are a dork, you know that?"
Seifer laughed, pulling Zell closer and wrapping his arms around him. "Yeah, but I'm your dork now."
Zell smiled, feeling a warm sensation in his chest as he rested his head on Seifer's shoulder. "Yeah, you are."
They entered Seifer's dorm room, and Zell looked around curiously, taking in the space that now held more significance to him. Seifer closed the door behind them and led Zell to his bed.
"Make yourself comfortable, babe. I'll grab some spare blankets," Seifer said, giving Zell a gentle kiss on the forehead before heading to the closet.
Zell watched Seifer move around the room, his heart swelling with affection for the tall blonde. He took off his jacket and shoes, settling onto the bed, which already carried the faint scent of Seifer's cologne. It made him feel oddly comforted, like he belonged there.
Seifer returned with the blankets and joined Zell on the bed, draping the covers over them both. He pulled Zell close, their bodies fitting together like two pieces of a puzzle.
"Goodnight, Zell," Seifer whispered, planting a soft kiss on Zell's temple.
"Goodnight, Seifer," Zell replied, snuggling closer to him, his exhaustion from the day finally catching up with him.
As they lay there, wrapped in each other's arms, Zell couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment and happiness he hadn't experienced before. He realized that being with Seifer felt right, and he was grateful for the accidental time spell that had brought them together.
In the stillness of the night, Seifer gently traced circles on Zell's back, his touch soothing and reassuring. "I'm glad you came into my life, Zell," he whispered, his voice soft and tender.
Zell smiled sleepily, nuzzling against Seifer's chest. "I'm glad too, Seifer. I never thought this would happen, but I'm really happy it did."
"Me too," Seifer said, his voice tinged with sincerity. "Let's make more memories together, okay?"
Zell yawned, feeling himself drift off to sleep. "Yeah, let's do that."
As they lay intertwined, the sounds of their soft breathing filling the room, Seifer felt a sense of peace wash over him. He knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
And so, under the moonlit glow, they slept soundly, their hearts entwined as tightly as their fingers, knowing that they had found something special in each other – something worth cherishing and protecting.
