A/N (authors note)

Hi! I just want to say, I really appreciate all the support on my stories. Also, I'm really sorry for not be posting as much. I will be posting more after the holidays are over. I have more time to write when I'm not with my family, because I get really distracted. Plus, there are loads of kids in the household. Anyways, sorry about that, I just needed to give some background as to why I haven't been consistent with my updates.

Percy pov

The days passed. I was still stuck in my old cabin. I found myself longing to learn Greek with Annabeth, play Capture the Flag with camp and wishing that joining Kronos was a dream. Sadly, it wasn't.

Every day that I was there Annabeth still tried to (as she referred to it) 'knock some sense into me'. And every day I was there I felt my allegiance to Kronos wavering. Every time Annabeth asked me to join the gods again, I felt myself hesitate more and more.

They made me swear on the river Styx to make sure I wouldn't escape. So, unless someone came to my rescue *cough Luke cough* I was stuck here. And as far as Luke knew, I was still at my mother's house.

Annabeth was the one that brought me food and water and after a few days, I gave up on ignoring her. So, when she came today, I tried to talk to her.

'Here,' she said,' I brought you pizza.' She didn't speak after that, so I had to.

'So...um...Annabeth... What's your favourite food?'

She looked at me weirdly.

'What? Do I have something on my face?' I said, while I moved my hands towards my face.

She just started laughing. And then I started laughing. Shut up, I told shouldn't be laughing with her. She is on the gods' side, you are with the Titans. But as much as I tried, I couldn't stop laughing .

After a few minutes, Annabeth stopped laughing and had a sad smile on her face. I winced apologetically. And then I decided on something. Something I had been debating for the past few minutes.

'You know what, Annabeth? I know I'm going to be here for a while. So, um, do you- do you want to be friends?' My palms were very sweaty.

She looked at me like I was crazy. But then, she rolled her eyes at me, and grinned.

'I accept the offer. Seaweed Brain.'

'Owl Head.'

'Kelp-for-Brains.'

'Wise Girl.'

'Seriously, Percy? That's the best you can come up with?'

'Hey, it's not my fault that you are naturally smarter than me. You literally have the wisdom goddess as your mother.'

She snorted.

'And you wonder why I call you Seaweed Brain.'

And then, I devoured my pizza and whispered to my glass, blue cherry coke.

I was proud to say, Annabeth Chase left the room that day with a small smile on her face.

One person wasn't happy with that. And that person (or should I say divine being) was Kronos. Oh Styx.

Demigod dreams aren't like normal dreams. Demigods usually have really bad dreams. But I think mine took the blue cookie. I dreamed I was in the Underworld and I was by the hole to Tartarus.

'Ah, young demigod, we need to have a little chat.'

My body shook.

'A-about what? My Lord?'

'Your allegiance to me.'

Oh schist. I thought.

Kronos had felt my doubts about him. I was in for a very, very painful night.

Annabeth pov

Everyday I found myself dreading going to Percy's room. It hurt to see my old friend, so, unlike himself. But today was different. In a good way.

I was eating in the dinner pavilion, and I remembered that Percy hadn't eaten yet. So, I grabbed some pizza and a glass, sacrificed the rest of my food to the gods, and prayed to all of them that this would go well.

'Here,' I said as I entered the room,' I brought you pizza.' He gave me a small smile. I just put my head down.

'So...um...Annabeth... What's your favourite food?'

My head shot up at this question. What in Tartarus's name was he trying to do?

'What? Do I have something on my face?' He said, while moving his hands towards his face.

I couldn't help it. I started laughing.

After a few minutes, I stopped laughing as I remembered something. This could've been us, if he hasn't joined. A sad smile was on my face. He winced apologetically. And then he said it. The thing that made me feel warm inside.

'You know what, Annabeth? I know I'm going to be here for a , um, do you- do you want to be friends?'

I thought it was a joke at first. But then I looked at his face. It was a mixture of hopeful and nervous. He was crazy. I rolled my eyes and grinned.

'I accept the offer. Seaweed Brain.'

'Owl Head.'

'Kelp-for-Brains.'

'Wise Girl.'

'Seriously, Percy? That's the best you can come up with?'

'Hey, it's not my fault that you are naturally smarter than me. You literally have the wisdom goddess as your mother.'

I snorted.

'And you wonder why I call you Seaweed Brain.'

I came out of Cabin 3 with a smile on my face. Chiron saw me from the dinner pavilion. Dam, that centaur has good eyesight! Anyway, he looked at me questioningly. Probably thinking, why is Annabeth smiling after seeing Percy? He thought I was still mad at him. And when he came up to me and asked me what happened today, I told him. He had this wistful expression on his face.

'Ah, Percy. Such a good person, he was. Even before he knew he was a demigod. If only he didn't join Kronos.' I sighed. He gave me an I-have-a-plan look.

'Annabeth, child. You are clearly the closest to him here. Today, you might've caught a glimpse of our old Percy. I need you to try bring this side out of him more. And maybe, just maybe, he might realise what he is doing.'

I nodded, feeling a tiny sliver of hope.

That night. I prayed hard to the gods. Please, let this work. Let Percy realise his mistake. Please.
