"Last time on Total Drama Pahkitew Island, we went through a gnarly team swap that sent the original Bears into a five to four minority on both teams. In the challenge some campers showed out, while others stumbled and failed, leading to a heated argument between Amy and Anne Maria! With the Salmon losing this fight on top of Anne Maria finding out about Alejandro's and Amy's double dealings caused Anne Maria to lead a charge against Amy. Despite Alejandro and Alexis initially wanting Ezekiel, they eventually caved to Amy's demands and targeted Anne Maria. Although Anne Maria pulled the nerds together, Alejandro managed to pull in Geoff and Ezekiel. Despite Sam's last ditch effort to flip Alexis, it was too little too late with Anne Maria going home in a five to four vote. Seventeen are left, who will be the next person voted out of Total Drama Pahkitew Island!"

Theme song

The scene opened up to the river with Bridgette dipping her bare feet into the water below, her reflection staring back at her. "Hey Bridgette," Laine said walking up to her, Bridgette jumped a little bit hearing Laine come out of nowhere.

"Sorry for startling you," Laine chuckled, sitting down next to her.

"It's alright, I was just wanting to get some alone time by the water."

"I feel ya, I miss the beaches and being able to swim whenever, I was expecting a sort of beach or dock this season… but I guess that wasn't in the budget." Laine and Bridgette shared a chuckle. "What're you thinking of the team so far?"

"I mean we won the first challenge as a team which is huge, even if it means someone from the original Salmon goes, as long as it isn't me…. I think I'll be okay."

"I get what you mean, I'm homies with Geoff so I hope he sticks around at least a little bit."

"What's he like?" Bridgette asked, blushing slightly causing Laine to give a small smirk.

"He's a chill dude, very kind, and has been a really good friend for the team. Seems like strong boyfriend material if you ask me," Laine said, giving her a nudge causing Bridgette to turn into a tomato.

"I- uh we should be getting back," Bridgette stammered.

Confessional, Bridgette

Laine is a cool guy, and he's buddies with Geoff, win-win in my books… maybe he can play wingman for me.

Confessional, Laine

Je t'en prie Geoff, you owe me big time.

At the treehouse, the rest of the Bears were stirring to life. Some were already awake while others were currently still asleep. The camera followed the open door of the treehouse just as it became clear that Todd was on the outside balcony. "Hey, what kind of parchment do you use?" Drew said, coming out the door.

Surprised, Todd nearly dropped his drawing kit before shoving some of the extra pieces into his hoodie's pocket. "Umm, just… regular paper I guess. I'd love to get a hold of that old, weather parchment, but something about me thinks it takes a while to make it…"

"Hah!" Drew cackled, tapping the mapmaker on his shoulder. "I've been trying to get some good views of this island. And I don't necessarily mean the cuties here. We just have some really good vistas but I'm having trouble finding them."

"If you can describe them to me I think I can point you in the same relative location," Todd mentioned. "But something's off about this island I can't be entirely sure."

"Eh, I always chalk that up to a little less sleep," Drew said. "I mean, have you seen some of the people here? They're not exactly the quietest sleepers."

"I can imagine," Todd awkwardly chuckled. "So do you have an image in mind now? Or for that matter supplies in mind?

"I just had one… but I lost it," Drew shrugged. "I'm going for a walk, I need to get the muse back."

"Sounds like a plan I suppose," Todd tilted his head. He leaned on the railing of the treehouse trying to enter deep thought before a part of the railing gave way and the mapmaker suddenly fell down. "Oww…."

"You wanna say that again?" Roman's deep voice echoed from under him.

"Oh crap!" Todd shouted, quickly scrambling off of Roman. "Sorry!" Todd quickly started to climb up the ladder.

The jock quickly investigated his clothes to see no stains had in fact dirtied him but he was going to feel that on his chest for a while. He looked at the bench he was using as part of his workout that collapsed and grumbled.

Confessional, Todd

Not exactly how I wanted to wake up… but Drew has a point, I should be locked on these maps, it'll help me find out who's going where and who is lying… and I have to do that while avoiding Roman… yeesh…

Confessional, Drew

I sure hope Todd's okay and able to help, that fall looked like it hurt. Buuuuuuut if he goes home it isn't me sooooo.

"You guys saw some of the new movie releases before you came out here? Like that new Transformers movie?" Sam asked Cody and Harold. The trio were geeking out in the back of the cave, eyes alight as they pivoted a conversation from the game they were currently in to normal geeky stuff.

"I actually did, I thought it was a solid movie, Mirage was by far my favorite," Cody replied.

"I don't really care for the action movie sci-fi thriller types. I more so prefer the strategic and more intellectual movies," Harold explained, pushing up his glasses.

"Do tell, what do you view?" Sam asked.

"Well I am a connoisseur of all things anime, including Classroom of the Elite."

"Not a basic pick… Classroom of the Elite is a good anime as a whole, very intriguing, and almost mafia esk, without all the violence," Cody explained.

"Sounds interesting I'll have to check it out when I'm home. As I'm sure you two figured out, I'm much more of a video game nerd," Sam said.

"What would you recommend?" Harold asked. "I need to pick up something new when I'm home."

"The new Diablo game is supposed to be a hit, so maybe pick that up. Although if you have the ZBox Game Pass then get the Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga game, very underrated."

"Thank you for the recommendation, I'm sure I will beat them with my mad skills!" Harold exclaimed, causing Sam and Cody to shoot each other a concerned glance.

Confessional, Cody

I don't know whether to hate or… be confused about Harold being my ally. But I really like the idea of us geeks looking out for each other

Confessional, Harold

(Does karate moves in confessional) My mad skills cannot be stopped, I will win this competition in the name of Steve Irwin!

"I'm so excited to be on a team with you wizard! As soon as we combined forces we won!" Sugar gleefully said as her and Leonard were walking to the next challenge site.

"It was a noble victory, and hopefully we keep rolling high skill checks in order to continue our winning ways!" Leonard said, tossing a die into the air.

"We'll be such a powerful duo, your skill and my brains, we'll run this game and have so much fun!" Sugar exclaimed, her eyes sparkling in delight.

The pair strolled up to the challenge where the two teams were congregating together onto two separate areas, as the final people arrived Chris stepped out in front of the group.

"Looks like you're all acclimated into your new teams. Seems like one more so than the other," Chris said as the campers trudged in. "Leonard, how's the swap treating you?"

"New party members but we all mutually gained experience because of a common campaign yesterday, so it shall be no problem today," Leonard proudly boasted.

"Yeah! What the wizard said!" Sugar cheered.

"If only some of us could remain in reality," Roman snarked to a nearby Bridgette, who could only blink in response.

"Alejandro, you said goodbye to someone for the first time. Was it surprising?"

"En muchos tipos si," Alejandro stroked his goatee. "No person can cruise to the end without experiencing an elimination, and I am grateful that the eight we do have seem all the more united for the goals of today."

"United is a bit of a stretch," Amy spoke up. "But believable," she crossed her arms.

"I don't agree with either, but I know that Al's got some good points, eh," Ezekiel twitched.

"Ah my friend, Thank you for the acknowledgement, but I do prefer you not call me Al," Alejandro clarified. "It's a matter of formality and focus."

"Shoot, didn't mean to throw you off, eh," Ezekiel mentioned.

"Es nada," Alejandro's eye almost imperceptibly switched. "Let's just focus on the day."

"Alright then we're good to go for today's challenge!" Chris said as Dakota wheeled in a monitor while Chef managed to haul in a bag full of something moving. "Today's challenge is an all out FUN BALLOON FIGHT! It's a knockout challenge this time around, and we've got loads and loads of surprises in store."

"The game today is simple, you get hit by a balloon, you're out," Chef said as he pulled out three balloons, handing one to Chris, one to Dakota, and holding one himself. "These aren't normal balloons though."

Chris pulled out a pen and stabbed the balloon Chef was holding as Dakota turned on the monitor. Out popped a thick pile of grease that melted in his hands. To his credit, Chef was unaffected. "Not every water balloon has the same effect, so it's best just not to get hit by one."

Dakota took the remote she used to turn on the monitor and used it to stab Chris' balloon, covering his hands in what looked to be used up coffee grounds. The host moaned as Dakota continued the speech. "This challenge will take you through the woods, where we did store other water balloon caches, ready for plundering."

Annoyed, Chef destroyed Dakota's balloon, covering her in what looked like neon paint. "After three hours, or when one team is entirely eliminated, whichever team has a higher percentage remaining wins. That goes to say, since the Bears have one more member, they have to win with at least two more members than the Salmon."

The campers nodded as they waited for Chris or Dakota to say something, but it seemed like the two of them were incapacitated by the contents of their balloons. "Time to be the adult… You have a ten minute grace period. Go and strategize until I blow the horn!"

Alejandro immediately corralled his team into a close group as they started walking. "Divide and conquer, that's how the greats managed through much of history," he mentioned.

"How though?" asked Sam. "I'd rather go with someone stronger like you or even Alexis since you've definitely got some kind of good arms."

"Don't discredit yourself," Cody shook his head. "Maybe we shouldn't divide, Chef did say there were caches, multiple, so maybe we just go all for one and one for all? Athos, Porthos, Aramis?"

"Spoken like a true nerd," Amy snorted. Harold, shocked, opted not to say anything.

"I suppose we could just go and hunt for the caches, then we can figure it out from there."

"Could we defend one of the caches? And what if we run out of balloons?" Harold asked.

"I'm starting to see why Chris doesn't like questions," Amy whispered.

"Well, we'll just have to figure that out," Alejandro said. "Anyone have a good sense of smell or something?"

The others looked at each other before Zeke raised his hand. "Here's hoping we can find a cache before the bears."

Confessional, Amy

I hope those nerd bombers didn't waste our time finding those caches.

Confessional, Harold

It's important to clarify every aspect of a plan, because failure to plan is planning to fail. Unless you're intentionally planning to fail, you can't necessarily do that because then you're trying to make a musical bomb to fool investors and then you wind up making the smash hit of the century. What's that trope name again? I forgot…

Compared to the Salmon, the Bears were having a much harder time talking about their strategy. As the voices between them rose, the campers seemed to be moving further and further in the woods, as if they were compelled to start the challenge. Fingers pointing, spit flying, and swears exchanged, the Bears considered themselves quite peeved as Topher and Roman stepped up to each other.

"Well in that case we should just split up," Todd held up a peacekeeping hand.

"Fine by me," Topher agreed. "I don't want you all clouding up my screen time anyway."

Annoyed, Eva left to follow him even as Roman objected. "Make me," Eva snarled.

Roman rolled his eyes and ran off into the woods.

"Sugar, milady, I must find a way to cast a protection from above. I shall see you," Leonard said, earning a few odd glances his way.

"So I'm going in the other direction of Roman," Todd explained to Bridgette. "We need a headstart. I'll see ya."

"Wait!" Bridgette shouted just as Todd started running off. "Oh man…" Looking to her left, she also saw Laine and Drew scampering off in the same direction.

"What's wrong, Bridge?" Sugar looked at the surfer with a tilted head.

"Umm, I just don't want.. well, well I don't want to split up… these are some big woods…"

"Sheesh, these ain't nothing bigger than a school in the offseason with a hickory plum cow," Sugar shook her head. "But if you're scared-"

"Very!"

"Then let's stick together, blond beautiful bombshell, and Bridgette!" Sugar said as she wrapped her hand around Bridgette's waist, dragging her off into the forest. Helpless, the surfer fearfully turned to the camera.

Confessional, Bridgette

So long as I'm with someone, I'm fine! But why does it have to be Sugar? I hope that she doesn't know that I know.

Confessional, Sugar

Poor Bridgette, she wouldn't survive roughing it. She's like one of those spoiled little princess cats with a glitter tiara that they didn't earn because they're just stupid stinking cats and they're so spoiled and they don't work to get their gold and they get to sit on plushies while all my life and I'm supposed to be learning how to walk. Cat's can't even walk!

Alexis hopped through the trees, clutching one of her balloons like a baby, and cautiously peered around the corners. "Nothing there…" she said as she looked over a tree. "Nada…" she said as she hopped on a rock, finding no one hiding underneath. She continued her scampering through the forest as every sound seemed to amplify her fear.

Ezekiel jumped into what looked like a giant gopher hole and popped out the other side of a river. Confused, he tunneled back, grabbing a balloon, and going back across the river. He took a moment to breathe before just behind him, Sugar and Bridgette threw a balloon. Screaming, Zeke ran into the woods, where the blondes weren't able to chase after him.

Sam slowly tailed a cautious Leonard before Leonard suddenly turned around, forcing Sam to duck under the cover of a pile of leaves that conveniently fell next to him. Holding his breath, Leonard investigated the site, before running away, a cry of "Camous Flagius!"

Amy kicked a rock frustratedly as she almost dropped her balloon. The vibrating balloon seemed to fall down in slow motion just as she barely managed to catch it and prevent it from breaking. She wiped the sweat from her brow and smiled nervously.

Roman pointed to Drew to go behind another tree, placing down one of his balloons as gently as he could onto a particularly large flower. The two looked from beyond the trees as they saw Alexis nervously looking at a tree fall down suddenly. As she flinched, another branch seemed to fall. Sufficiently scared, Alexis let out a scream of surprise. "NOW!"

Drew threw her balloon high above and caused it to fall behind Alexis. Startled, Alexis threw her balloon in the direction Drew's came from. Drew saw the balloon coming easily and dodged it. Now wide open, she was vulnerable to the sudden explosion of molasses in front of her. "QUE ES?!"

"You just lost," Roman cackled as he sidled next to Drew.

"Attention everyone! Alexis has been eliminated!" Chef blared through the loudspeakers.

"And that's what we call a touchdown!" Roman cheered as he spiked his other balloon, causing an explosion of chili powder.

"ROMAN!" Drew shouted as she closed her eyes, preventing herself from sneezing. Though mostly covered due to her wear she found that the powder had sunk into her apron and she quickly wrapped it in an alternative manner.

"IT BURNS!" Roman shouted with his eyes suddenly watering. He tried opening them to reveal that the whites of his eyes were now tinged a light red.

"FRIENDLY FIRE COUNTS! AND SELF DESTRUCTION COUNTS! WAY TO GO ROMAN AND DREW!" Chef said through the loudspeaker.

Confessional, Drew

THANKS ROMAN! As if I don't deal with enough boastful jocks back home…AH-CHOO!

Confessional, Roman

I don't know what you saw, but it was sabotage from the other team!

Confessional, Alexis

Serves them right!

Hearing the announcement of the three campers getting eliminated, Sam grabbed another balloon from a stache he had managed to find. Holding his breath, he realized that one of them was buzzing too much. Cautiously, he continued his sneaking walk through a small glade that had appeared. "Good, no one here…" he sighed.

Elsewhere, Topher followed a river that seemed to flow upwards. "Huh?" Topher questioned, noticing a fish swimming up the hill without much issue. He also took notice of a particularly round rock and fished it out and set it on the riverbank. The ball rolled down before suddenly rolling up to where he put it down. Confused, he had no time to dwell on it as he was suddenly hit on the face with a fish. The rock rolled down again.

Alejandro took a sniff of one of his balloons, trying to confirm what the contents were inside. "Dulce de leche?" he whispered. He felt the other balloon, found it to be pretty thick, before he put both of them down. Looking around, he heard the buzzing of a hornet nest. Grabbing both of his balloons, he made sure to scamper away, taking care not to make enough noise.

Eva put down one of her balloons and hoisted a particularly large stump out of the way. She picked up a long and flat piece of rock and put it on the stump. Tired, she sat on one end of the rock, causing the other end to be hoisted high up in the air. While she looked around, hearing what seemed to be wires buzzing, the rock that Topher rolled hit a tree, and it fell down.

Confessional, Eva

WHAT WAS THAT?!

Todd waded through a small stream in pursuit of someone else. The portion of the forest he was in became particularly thick. "Wait…" he did a double take as he saw a flash of pink through the trees. Doubling back, he looked around a stump with a large hole in it to see his target.

"Okay… gotta do this…" Todd reassured himself. "Aim for their-"

Hearing the sound of another thud behind him, he suddenly chucked his balloon through the stump's hole and the balloon made its mark. Todd had a moment to let out a satisfied smile as Geoff squealed, dropping his balloon, covering his legs with cinnamon, all the while sneezing because of the balloon that hit him right in the side of his face.

Todd's smile was short lived as he suddenly smelled something almost comforting trickling down his back. While he shivered, Todd looked behind him, seeing Amy mockingly waving at him. "Bye bye dork," Amy snickered.

"I deserve this…" Todd said as Chef announced him and Geoff's elimination from the challenge.

Confessional, Amy

Our cheer routines do require a fair bit of aim. Also helps that Todd's hoodie was almost a bigger target than him.

Confessional, Geoff

Bro I haven't smelt this much cinnamon in years! I used to love cinnamon buns but with the party and athlete lifestyle I can't have it too much, how else do you think I look so good?

Confessional, Todd

I sure hope that my friends are watching this challenge with popcorn, because the next time we go to the movies and I have to pay, they aren't getting any

Amy dusted her hands proudly as she trotted off, unaware that directly in front of her was a steep cliff. The cheerleader cursed and spat as she tumbled down, landing face down in what looked like a small puddle of mud.

Cody climbed up a small outcrop of rock to find someone moving. His eyes were peeled for unnatural color in the forest but nothing crossed his mind. Ducking low as he heard the odd call of a duck, he continued his walk through the forest.

Having landed somewhere near a stream, Eva grumbled as her usual blue wear was now stained with grass. With her balloons lost due to her involuntary flight, she started to hunt for more balloons. When she took a step forward she found her foot met with a horrifying squish. She pressed on. Still hidden in the brush, Ezekiel managed to let out a big breath while the powerlifter managed to slink away.

Confessional, Ezekiel

You know I thought the women were good at finding weird colors, guess I was wrong. Eva's a tough girl, pretty tough, so I'm glad I wasn't found by her at that moment.

Right by a rather large cache, Alejandro looked at some of the balloons. He held his hand out to one that suddenly bulged out before changing course and grabbing something that was relatively safer since it felt a lot like rice. Satisfied, Alejandro grabbed another balloon, before quickly having it slip out of his hands and dropping it onto the ground, caking the ground in feathers that he barely managed to avoid.

Coming up on the very same cache just as Alejandro left, Amy picked up a rather large balloon with both of her hands. Struggling to hold it, she was able to curl it up as she got the balloon in a more flexible position. "AMY LOOK OUT!"

Amy turned and hurled the large balloon off in a random direction, hitting the voice. Looking at Cody, the geek was now covered in what looked like tree sap. He tried to move but his movement was severely hindered by the dripping sap that had managed to cover his feet. He was able to point to the right where Amy barely missed a balloon that exploded into sprinkles and what looked like dozens of bouncy balls.

"CHARGE!" Sugar shouted, dragging Bridgette along with her as Bridgette grabbed a balloon from her light blue hoodie.

Amy rolled into a somersault as Bridgette threw a balloon that exploded into thyme and peppermint. Holding her breath, Amy grabbed a stick just as Sugar and Bridgette rounded the large cache of balloons. Thinking quickly, Amy threw the stick into the midst of the pile, causing an explosion that covered Sugar and Bridgette in an unholy and foul smelling mix of brown sugar, vinegar, pop rocks, popcorn kernels, and eggs. "Bullseye!" Amy shouted. "Sorry Cody, shouldn't have yelled at me."

"I understand," Cody said as he managed to stiffly walk away.

"Attention everyone," Chris said on the loudspeaker, evidently now free of the coffee grounds. "Cody, Bridgette, and Sugar have been eliminated from the challenge!"

Confessional, Cody

Amy, objectively hot and mean at the same time…. Clever girl though.

Confessional, Sugar

Come on, you don't think that I'd be affected by these water balloons did ya? I'm not Bridgette.

The camera whipped to Chris, Dakota, and Chef waiting at a monitor as they panned through camera after camera. Bored, they dived absentmindedly into a bucket of popcorn as They kept track of who would be the next one out. "You know I think I'd be a good bet," Topher said, intruding on the scene.

"How'd you find us?" Chef shouted,

"The weirdest thing happened, I think it's fate because I totally need to tell you all about this totally awesome concept about this show. I mean, you know we're all crazy, wild, and loony teens huh? What if you put all of us into a house? And then we just…. Live? Wouldn't that be the best?"

"You really should get going, this isn't an advantage we want to give you," Dakota said.

"Silence Dakota, the big guys are talking," Topher waved a dismissive hand. "See, the goal here is to attract the parents of the teens so that way we can have more of an audience."

"I'm thinking you have some ideas," Chris started. Chef flicked a button on the screen to show Sam idling about before he started to run. "Obviously I'd be the host."

"No for sure, like you'd be the introductory host taking care of the intro and the ending…" While Topher blabbered on, Chef and Dakota watched as the camera trailing Sam turned into a clearing within their vicinity. Confused, Dakota and Chef backed up as Sam emerged on the scene, holding a light looking but rather pointed balloon.

"And you know what's gonna happen?" Topher said as he held Chris on with his last word. Topher opened his mouth just as he was suddenly propelled forward. "WHAT IS THIS!?"

Chris chortled. "Wow, looks like he caught you MONOLOGUING! WITH THE LINT AND THE BRAMBLES! NICE!" Chris' laughter continued even as Dakota activated the megaphone.

"ATTENTION CAMPERS! TOPHER IS NOW OUT!" Dakota blared in Topher's face. "Nice one Sam," she turned off the megaphone and microphone that activated the loudspeakers.

"Thanks," Sam gave Dakota a smile. "I umm, noticed you two needed help, I mean I'm sure you could have handled it but this way I help my team too."

"No offense taken, since I can tell you didn't mean any," Dakota grinned. "But we're closing this place off. I'll see you at the end of the challenge, hopefully you'll be safe."

"Oh me too," Sam chuckled awkwardly.

The two smiled at each other as Chef grabbed Sam and hoisted him over the shoulder. The burly vet spun Sam around and tossed him into the woods. "YOU BETTER START WALKING BOY!"

Confessional, Dakota

Ugh, brand synergy…. Brand synergy…

My opinions on Topher are but my own. His father is a valued host on The Drama Network and you can catch his talents on the Ridonculous Race. I do not enjoy Topher though. I will say this. The F in Topher stands for Fan-Freaking-Tastic

Confessional, Sam

Sure nice to contribute to saving a cute girl and my team at the same time.

Alejandro counted the names of those who were eliminated. Coming to a number he found not quite satisfactory, he started to head off for a run, tripping momentarily, before recovering in a majestic three point landing. He looked at the camera with a sigh. If only someone could compliment him on that.

Amy ran through the forest, having heard something strange and seeing something equally strange. "THIS DOESN'T EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE!" She said as she fell into a sudden sandy pit.

Ezekiel let out a small gasp as a butterfly landed on his nose. Sneezing, he realized his cover was blown, and he started to run to find a different hiding spot, still with a balloon in his hat. He checked in on it and made sure it wasn't broken.

Laine waded through a muddy, swampy portion of the island. When he put his balloon down to catch his breath, the balloon floated away, right into the mouth of an annoyed alligator. "Anteeksi," he hastily muttered. "Anteesksi!" he shouted as the alligator bit down, covering its insides in raw bacon.

Leonard made a wild gesture and pointed at a tree branch in the tree. As it fell down, he looked surprised. "Huh, that worked," Leonard smiled. "Maybe I actually am magic. The guild of the Torontic order is gonna love this."

Leonard continued his walk, oblivious to the fact that he was being tailed. He fixed his green hood over his head as he peered through the forest, trying to be aware of movement within. As he walked he felt a particularly strong breeze coming from behind. The wizard continued on his walk even as the loudspeakers whirred to life. "ATTENTION EVERYONE! LEONARD HAS BEEN ELIMINATED!"

"What?!" Leonard turned around, trying to find what could have possibly eliminated him. He threw his hood down and heard a splatter on the forest floor. "Eggs?"

"Sorry eh, it's the name of the game," Ezekiel said he came into Leonard's vision.

"Yeah I agree," Leonard said. "Sure sucks though. A curse on you! And your school! And your home! Nice shot though."

"Thanks," Ezekiel disappeared again into the forest.

Confessional, Ezekiel

If you ask me I guess I don't have much of a presence. It's worked in my favor I guess.

Confessional, Leonard

…maybe I shouldn't tell my guild about this challenge at all…

Laine finally managed to escape the rather thick swamp and left the angry alligator behind. Just as he waited to catch his breath, he found his loud panting matched by a rather raspy set of breathing from a different direction. "You thought you could outrun us?" Harold boasted as Laine rose to face him.

"I never said anything like that," Laine said as his eyes darted from Harold to Alejandro, finding himself outnumbered and outgunned. "You might want to back up."

"The problem is that eres solo," Alejandro spoke up. "And Harold and I have two balloons that could easily go into your face."

"Uh-huh," Laine said as he backed into the swamp once again. "See, you forget that I could easily run in between you and Harold to get the two of you eliminated."

"As if we'd do something as stupid as that," Harold said. "All it takes is my mad skills to take out a mere plebe like you."

Laine and Alejandro watched as Harold managed to roll his balloon between his arms, around his fingers, perched it on his head, launched it into the air, caught it in his hands, and threw it in an arc upward. The unlikely trio watched as the balloon fell into Harold's hands, exploding into what smelled like rotten yeast. "Gosh I think I might be allergic to this…" Harold grumbled as he stepped out of the way.

Confused, Laine looked at Harold walking off. In the moment of Distraction, Alejandro only had to throw his balloon lightly for it to explode over Laine's chest. "Pink paint?" Alejandro asked.

"Well, this sucks," Laine sighed. "Au Revoir…"

Alejandro looked quizzically at Laine and Harold as Dakota announced their eliminations on the loudspeaker. Again he counted on his fingers.

Confessional, Alejandro

…there are some people that I consider quite strange, and reality TV is something of a Mecca for a fair portion of them. Nice, yes, but strange. Unfortunately I've seen that strange doesn't fare well in terms of victory.

Confessional, Harold

(He's sneezing so much in his confessional that he can't let out a word)

Confessional, Laine

Eesh, could be worse. Never that big of a fan of pink.

Eva suddenly lost her balance as she crossed over a collapsed log. Making sure she was careful with her feet, she picked up a giant stick, using it to clear out a path of leaves that was in front of her. Grumbling to herself, she noticed some form of movement in the forest. She followed the path of the moving figure in reverse to find a cache of five balloons. Grabbing one of them, she made sure to take a careful step across a rotting stump.

Catching sight of something red in the distance, Alejandro climbed a collapsed tree into a fixture of rocks and sand. Making sure to keep his balance, he pried apart two rocks, finding them move a lot easier than he was used to, only to get sprayed by a bunch of clear water. Taken aback, he closed the rocks like one would close an elevator door, and caught his breath. "Ay…."

Ezekiel popped his head out of a tree, toque first, and tilted around looking for someone. Satisfied at not finding anyone, he was blindsided when a water balloon dropped onto his toque. "ATTENTION EVERYONE! EZEKIEL IS NOW OUT OF THE COMPETITION!" Chef shouted through the loudspeakers.

Zeke looked up to see Eva perched on a branch. "Wow that's a lot of mud in a little balloon," she noted, almost impressed. "You look like you're taking it well."

"I grew up on a farm, eh, it's just a fact of life. And this is just a game," Ezekiel wisely said.

Before Eva could manifest a response, she was knocked off of her branch by a wayward balloon. She was instantly covered in honey and fell into the mud below the tree. "WHO?!" she roared.

"Sorry," Sam sheepishly popped from the side of a tree. "But I had to. You eliminated Zeke."

"And the Salmon win the challenge! Today their reward is from 48 degrees celsius bakery! The latest and greatest in sweets, treats, and unique things to eat. Try the newest! And a special congratulations to Sam, Amy, and Alejandro for surviving the balloon fight. As your reward, you get a year's supply of Milton Water Balloon calendars! " Chris announced through the loudspeaker.

Hearing the confessional, Amy dropped her balloon that she was holding. "That's a relief," she sighed. Just as she was about to leave the site, the balloon popped, drenching her in extra sugary and sticky soda. "I HATE YOU SAMEY!"

Confessional, Eva

I don't quit, and yelling at Sam wouldn't be a good sport… BUT I'M STILL FRUSTRATED! GOT IT?!

Confessional, Sam

That was actually fun! I actually do enjoy calendars so a new one helps out.

After Challenge

Roman had pulled Laine aside at the bottom of the tree house, attempting to avoid anyone from overhearing their conversation.

"Alright look bro. We're down five to four based on team lines. But since Anne Maria just went home, I don't think the Salmon are that tight. So if we just flip one we're golden," Roman explained.

"Uh huh… who do you suggest then? I don't think voting Bridgette or Todd here would be particularly smart," Laine replied.

"Mhmm, Bridgette is really athletic, and for as wimpy as Todd is, his mapping skills might actually come in handy," Roman scoffed.

"Eva is also really scary," Laine nodded.

"Yeah…" Roman paused. "She is a beast. That leaves that stupid wizard and Topher."

"Both are a bit grating…"

"Let's vote for the wizard. I'm still pissed with him about that first challenge… and he is so annoying!"

"Fine by me. You go up and see what Bridgette and Topher are talking about, I'll go talk to Drew and let her know the plan."

Confessional, Laine

I despise Roman. But here he is right, we need to flip one or two of them, and with Anne Maria going maybe the Salmon have some cracks. Also Leonard and Sugar are painfully close, so this is a good excuse to cut that off right away… also what is with Roman and not liking Eva… did she like piss in his cheerios or something?

Roman began climbing up the ladder to the treehouse, however he took one misstep and came plummeting back down to the bottom. "Stupid tree house… whose idea was this anyways… oh right mine… such a brilliant idea this was, totally not regretting it!"

"Hey you alright down there?" Topher yelled out from the treehouse. "We heard a huge crash."

"Yeah yeah I'm fine, I'll be back up in a second," Roman dusted his pants.

Confessional, Roman

I WANT THE TAPE TO THAT, GIVE ME THE TAPE!

Confessional, Topher

For a guy who claims to be some great messiah of a challenge competitor he sure has lost a lot. Lost to Eva on the plane, lost the first two team challenges, and now he fell down a ladder. (Pulls out notepad and pencil and scribbles something down) He just gave me a brilliant idea for a comedy about an athlete. The story will go….

Roman climbed back up the ladder and found Bridgette and Topher sitting down on either side of the treehouse. Roman grabbed a chair himself and sat down between them.

"Alright, so what do you guys want to do here?" Roman asked, Topher and Bridgette shared a glance briefly.

"We want to go for Sugar," Bridgette began with a bit of a nervous flit.

"Why? She's one of our stronger challenge competitors?" Roman asked.

Bridgette glanced at Topher briefly, "Just tell him," Topher nodded reassuringly.

"Tell me what?" Roman raised an eye.

"I saw Sugar pocket an idol in the first challenge. That's the reason we want to go for her. And apparently her and Leonard are really close already, so we want to try and separate them," Bridgette twiddled her fingers.

"Wait what? She has an idol?!" Roman's eyes went wide. Immediately shushed by his compatriots, Roman adjusted his seat. "But if that's the case why don't we just vote for Leonard?"

"That's not a bad idea," Topher started. "If we can get a majority of us to agree to get rid of the idol, then we can all split the vote four to three on Leonard and Sugar or vice versa. That way one for sure goes."

"Who would vote where?" Bridgette asked.

"Why not guys on Leonard and girls on Sugar. Simple and easy," Topher said, a wide smile crossing his face.

"What if someone flips?" Bridgette inquired.

"Well you said Todd would be down for voting Sugar. Eva doesn't like either of them. So the people we need on our side are good," Topher said as he held up fingers to count those who

"I already talked to Laine about voting for Leonard so he should be good," Roman added.

"Perfect. Ideally Sugar burns the idol and one of them goes home!" Topher excitedly cheered.

Confessional, Topher

This plan is perfect. Absolutely no way it fails. Being a major reality show super fan, it helps give you an edge in the strategy department.

Confessional, Roman

I still trust Sugar to an extent, but her not telling me about the idol pisses me off. Where is the loyalty? But I still would much rather Leonard gone, so getting that to go through was perfect.

Confessional, Bridgette

Does Topher not realize that it just takes one girl to flip and it's all over? If a girl voted with Sugar and Leonard, they play the idol on Leonard and poof one of us is gone. I won't flip and I don't think Eva or Drew would vote me off so I'm not too worried, but Topher and Roman are asking for trouble.

Sugar and Leonard were sitting together on a pair of rocks about half a mile away from the treehouse, Leonard had his wizard hat and beard drawn down showing off his shorter black hair.

"What're you thinking wizard?" Sugar asked.

"I am unsure fair lady. I think we need to keep the team strong moving forward, so we can keep beating the other team."

"Let's go for Topher. He's an annoying Chris Simp anyways."

"Sure! Let's go inform the team!"

"But with some tact wizard, some people may not like the idea."

"Then should we have a back up plan in place m'lady?"

Sugar reached into her top and pulled out the wooden Chris idol, "I found this in the first challenge, on the seal on the bottom it says here it expires at the final five, so we have some protection."

"MARVELOUS!"

Confessional, Chris

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a fan of my work, ignore what Sugar says.

Confessional, Leonard

I am so happy Sugar managed to find the immunity artifact! Now we have a shield protecting us in case our team members decided to turn on us!

Bridgette found Eva and Drew having a small chat by a river as they were both washing out their hair from all the dirt and grime from the challenge.

"Hey girls, need to talk to you, like, now!" Bridgette exclaimed, resting her hands on her knees.

"What's up Bridgette?" Drew asked, her eyebrows raised.

"To make things quick, Sugar has an idol, so girls are voting Sugar, and guys are voting Leonard."

"Why… wouldn't we just vote Sugar out?" Eva asked.

"Because if she plays it then they decide who goes. So splitting the votes between the two protects us from the idol."

"What if she holds onto it?" Drew asked. "Who would we split on after that?"

"I think that answer is pretty obvious," Bridgette said.

"Right… Why don't we split on Roman instead? Dude's a tool," Eva stated,

"Because this was Topher and Roman's plan…. It'd be hard to switch it up," Bridgette clarified. "If he gets hinky votes his way he'll probably know it was you two since I got to you last."

"Whatever. So us three vote Sugar and the four guys vote Leonard?" Eva asked.

"Yeah. Pretty much, hopefully Sugar burns the idol."

Confessional, Drew

This is either a brilliant plan by Topher and Roman… or an incredibly stupid one. Considering Roman spiked both of us with his own balloon earlier… I say the latter.

Confessional, Eva

Whatever floats their boat I guess

"What do you mean Leonard and I are getting votes?" Sugar exclaimed as she and Roman sat deep inside the home cave.

"Everyone knows you have an idol and that you and Leonard are close. We're all splitting the votes between you two to get rid of the idol," Roman stated, his eyes watching Sugar like a hawk.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I know you weren't born yesterday, you know I just want to come out of this clean."

"Okay… but then I get a chance to try and flip the vote now."

"But it won't be against me if that happens, would it?" Sugar looked down to the floor. "Exactly. Look I'd just play the idol and be done with it. It's the only reason you're a target right now."

"Who is voting where?"

"I can't say. That's for you to figure out."

"Ugh whatever, I'll get myself out of this!"

Confessional, Roman

A calculated risk. If a flip does happen, a weak link goes, if one doesn't then that stupid wizard goes. As far as I see it, this is a brilliant play by me.

Confessional, Sugar

What in the darn tootin is this nonsense!? I don't want to use my idol but I may have to already. Roman won't flip, but I know that muscular chick hates Topher. Maybe I can get her and someone else to join me.

"Yo, Laine and Todd come up here!" Topher exclaimed as Laine and Todd had ventured near the tree house during a chat.

Laine and Todd looked at each other and just shrugged, climbing up the ladder, Laine first followed by Todd, as they entered the room Topher was in they each grabbed a seat.

"What's up Topher?" Laine asked. "Did something happen?"

"Yeah actually. Something did!" Topher exclaimed, a big smile on his face.

"Oh. What is it?" Todd asked.

"I know Bridgette mentioned it to you Todd, but Sugar has an idol, and I came up with a plan to split the votes on her and Leonard, so her idol is flushed and one of them goes!"

"Well… the idol is certainly news to me," Laine stated. "What's the split?"

"Guys on Leonard and girls on Sugar."

"That works for me. Not a big fan of either of them anyways," Todd replied, folding his arms.

"Wouldn't it make more sense to target the person with the idol?" Laine asked. "What if she keeps it, then we have to deal with it again later."

"Then we just split on like her and someone else we're not a fan of," Topher replied. "Besides, it's simpler just to do the gender thing. Roman pushed for it."

"Why does that not shock me…" Laine said.

"What do you mean?" Todd asked, glancing at Laine.

"Ever since the first challenge slime incident, Roman… has not been a Leonard fan."

"Yeesh talk about a grudge," Todd said.

Confessional, Topher

Laine better not flip his vote or else my whole plan will go down the drain.

Confessional, Todd

You know you'd think after this show having two seasons and Big Brother and Survivor having several seasons that people would learn basic strategy… such as not teaming up with a wizard.

Confessional, Laine

Why… would we not vote off Sugar… She has an idol… a duo with Leonard and another with Roman… and you guys are really listening to ROMAN of all people on who to target? Like what?

Sugar, Leonard, and Eva were hanging out near the voting booth with only a bit of time left before the votes were due.

"Listen Eva, if you flip and vote Topher then we shake up the alliances immensely and we can pick up someone like Roman to join us for the next vote," Sugar explained.

"Topher… is annoying, but wouldn't you guys need at least one or two more?" Eva asked.

"Not necessarily. As everyone wants the idol gone, we simply have to idol the correct person and then us three can vote out whomever we choose," Leonard explained.

"Hmmm. Alright play the idol on…"

Confessional, Leonard

I cast a spell of temptation on Eva, have her vote Topher dear gods.

Confessional, Sugar

Eva flippin would be perfect. I get a successful idol play AND I walk into the next round with Eva, Roman, and Leonard as solid allies.

Confessional, Eva

Topher is so annoying… burn an idol, take out Topher seems like a win win… but do I want to play with Sugar and Leonard… ugh some protein powder and dumbbells would be helpful right now.

"Got it?" Eva asked.

"Yep!" Sugar and Leonard both said.

"Hey guys!" Laine said, walking up to the trio. "Are you guys about to vote?"

"Yep! See you guys shortly!" Sugar said, skipping away followed by Leonard, leaving Laine and Eva behind.

Elimination Ceremony

"Welcome in Bears to the fourth Elimination Ceremony of the season. For those of you that don't know how this works, when I ask for an idol to be played, that is the time you play it if you want. I'll also read all of the minority votes and the minimum needed to make a majority vote. Once you are voted out you will take a ride out of this cannon," Chris explained pointing towards the cannon giving a wide smile showing off his white teeth. "You all have already casted your votes into this ballot box that Dakota has retrieved for me," Chris said looking over to where both Dakota and Chef were standing, both shooting daggers at him.

Confessional, Chef

If that boy doesn't go into that outhouse and get the votes next time I will have his head.

"Alright then," Chris started shrugging off the stares from his co-hosts. "If anyone has an idol now would be the time to play it," Chris said.

Sugar glanced towards both Leonard and Eva. They both nodded, and she stood. "Normally I'd be selfish and play this on myself but I think Leonard needs this tonight…" Sugar began before being cut off.

"No Sugar! Play it on yourself. I'd rather you be safe than I!" Leonard exclaimed.

"Are you sure Leonard?"

"Yes I am sure! It's my perception check and I don't want you to go either!"

"Could you two hurry up!" Chris exclaimed, slamming his hands down onto his podium.

"Ugh I'm playing it for myself Chris, it's got the seal and everything," Sugar replied with an eye roll.

"This beautiful sculpture of me is indeed a hidden immunity idol, any votes for Sugar will not count. Now let's get to the votes."

"FIRST VOTE… Sugar. Does not count!"

"NINTH VOTE… And the fourth person voted out of Total Drama Pahkitew Island… Leonard. It's time for you to go."

Leonard stood up from his seat and turned towards Sugar, "Well faking being a wizard has carried me far but Sugar, I cannot lie to you. My wizardry only extends in my mind. If we were to be a couple I'd rather start it on truth. And the truth is I am not a wizard, just someone who likes Larping."

"Oh I already knew that, it was fun to buy into a fantasy as the princess I am. But you'll be my wizard forever and ever," Sugar replied, giving Leonard a peck on the cheek.

"As touching as that is, Leonard time to go," Dakota said.

"Of course Dakota," Leonard replied, jumping into the cannon robes and all. Dakota lit the fuse and Leonard shot straight out of the cannon. "AFLYICUS WINGICUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSS!" Leonard yelled out.

"Seventeen is now sixteen as we eliminate our fourth contestant and favorite wizard. The swap has proven deadly for the original Salmon, will that trend continue? Who will lose the next challenge? Who will go home? And will Chef actually force me into the outhouse? Find out next time on Total Drama Pahkitew Island!"

Dakota, already at the landing site, waved her flashlight around the waters surrounding her canoe. As the chill of the night started to bother her, Leonard's splash interrupted the relative tranquility of the routine set up. Hauling Leonard in, she turned him to the camera as she started rowing.

Final Confessional, Leonard

I would like to say I had a MARVELOUS time! Sugar was such a wonderful person I hope to continue our relationship outside the game. Perhaps if I didn't pretend to be a wizard I'd have done much better, but I know at my core I am a character first and foremost and I hope I provided you all with a lot of entertainment despite my quick exit. I wish Sugar kept her idol in hindsight, but I hope she somehow pulls off a victory. Don't want to see her too soon!

SCENES FROM THE NEXT EPISODE

Confessional, Drew

Normally, I'm all for equal rights, and good on Chef for holding modern principles, but… why me?

Cody blanched as the cameras seemed to zoom in on him. "So my ideal date is… well, it's just a typical restaurant. Like a steakhouse and all that, some chips, pop, and then we go to an arcade… I umm, teach her how to dance on the Boogie Boogie Battle Bus, and then we umm, go to a park and cuddle… So honestly… umm… I don't think any of the girls here would particularly like it so my bro Harold would enjoy it."

"So I have a question," Cody asked Alejandro as they walked along a fallen tree. "Why arent' there any cameos this season?"

"Ah, well, that's a question for the writers. They wanted to write them in but seeing as the canon season didn't have any cameos we aren't having them here."

"Hmm, it'd make more sense if we include the cameos in a future episode."

"Yes, but at this point there are 28 from the first season and 18 from the last season. That's a large amount to juggle."

"Makes a lot of sense," Cody said.

Geoff stood up at the rolling tray with his utensils primed to dig in. When he cut into the balut egg, the decapitated head fell onto the plate. Bridgette let out a horrified scream as Geoff stabbed the head. Gulping nervously, he looked at Bridgette, who was being held up by an adjacent Drew. Geoff hesitated as he finally put the head in his mouth. It took a long time for him to swallow and he still had a significant portion of the meal to go.

"Another letter," Harold shouted. He put the letter into a round canister and aimed a cannon at Eva. Eva held her hands up much like a goal post as the capsule fired between her hands.

"Looks like it's for you, Bridgette!" Eva shouted. "Order up!"

"Hmm, I'll take some vegan pants and a vegetarian Sprite please," Bridgette looked at the capsule before tucking it into the ground. A helpful gopher saluted her.

"What?" she turned to the camera. "Even in these non canon segments I'm still vegetarian."

Votes

Bridgette: If one of the girls flip, please send home Roman. Sugar

Drew: Split up a duo and flush an idol. Seems like a fun plan to me Sugar

Eva: If you guys had come to me about voting a big player like Roman or Laine off I'd have done it, as much as Topher annoys me, he also annoys everyone else, which is good for me. Sugar

Laine: Eva told me right before I voted, that Sugar was going to play her idol… so I'll stick to… whatever this is.. Leonard

Leonard: Praying to the wizard gods this works. Topher

Roman: This is for sliming me you cosplaying freak. Leonard

Sugar: I think Eva will flip but my gut tells me I should play my idol for Leonard and not myself. Topher

Todd: I honestly found his wizard bit funny, but at the end of the day it's a game. Leonard

Topher: Love how my plan is all coming together HAHAHA! Leonard

Reviews:

SuperSonicHeroes: (Rj) On a personal level, I believe Anne Maria could have been a finalist. I think she gets the shaft a lot and unfortunately this was one of those scenarios. Part of the reason for the team swap was to help keep things even so that everyone got a one to one match on the obstacle course itself. I'm glad you like what's going with Sam though. I'll be blunt and say that we haven't thought of cast themes all that much so I'd be curious of your own thematic thoughts.

(Trygve): Yeah Anne Maria and Sadie fall into the boat of if they were on ROTI or Island they def make it further, but that's what sucks overall as a writer as you gotta make some tough choices. As far as the swap goes we also did it early to keep things fresh and force some new interactions early.

Nobody: (Rj) I know the swap is a really early thing to do but it's something that survivor has done before. As for how long Amy lasts it'll be a journey for sure. Alejandro was way too active for my liking in WT so I think this is most likely how Alejandro would play in a more balanced scheme.

(Trygve): Yeah we def have been taking Alejandro more down his All Stars route as far as how passive he is being, but I do think WT is a rare case where he could get away with that, I think here he knows passiveness is a bit better for him.

Gemini (Rj: It'll be harder to make those small moments but we'll definitely make an effort to keep these things in mind. It's nice to see that we managed another blindside of your end. Glad to see that you still enjoyed the episode despite the dislike of the shuffle.

(Trygve) Those before challenge moments will generally maintain throughout with varying amounts or degrees to them, but they will more or less maintain. As far as the Harold and Amy thing goes, Harold interpreted as blackmail as A. he's never met Amy, and B. she's threatening to throw him under the bus for idol hunting, albeit Harold is smart enough to know it's an empty threat, it is still one. As far as challenge performance, for players like Sky or Jasmine in Island or Lightning in ROTI that sort of thing does help them out, however Amy is just really annoying to deal with (See how she treated Sam in the prior ep) that her challenge ability kinda becomes negligible. That was my main thought process with her this last ep. I am glad you enjoyed the blindside, I've really been trying to make an effort to be far more misleading whenever possible. It won't always happen but with the new Ceremony it gives some more options.
