The next chapter is up! Enjoy :)
Natalie felt groggy and felt like she was underwater.
She woke up briefly to bright lights shining down into her face. And there were people talking over her. But she couldn't make out what they were saying, because again it felt like she was underwater, and the voices came out kind of distorted and muffled.
After a few moments, she was out again as everything went dark.
Yeyinde wasn't feeling any better.
He was in a semiconscious state, his body hurt all over, and he felt like he could hardly move. The young hunter could feel a hard surface beneath his body.
He was laying on something, possibly a table. And the fact that he can feel the cold metal pressed against his back must've meant whoever had him, removed his awu'asa and obviously, his weapons.
Yeyinde didn't understand. He was doing so well for himself, and it was turning out to be a great hunt.
How could he have been careless enough to let himself get captured like this? He was usually very good at knowing when there were others about close by.
He doesn't know how he could've gotten so wrapped up with the three men he was killing to not realize four more had come up behind him and surprised him like that.
They were also packing some serious weapons with very large caliber bullets. He felt them as they tore into him. It certainly hurt like hell, but it shouldn't have slowed him down or stopped him in his tracks like that.
And what were those strange projectiles they shot him with afterwards?
Clearly, there must've been something inside the strange small tubes that stuck to his body. Because that is when everything started going wrong with him.
They drugged him, and he can't help but feel, he let them.
In his current drug induced state, he could feel hands poking and prodding his skin. Then he felt a sharp pinch in the crook of his arm. This made him let out a weak, low growl.
Whoever they are, they must've heard him because the shadows standing above him quickly moved back.
He heard strange, gargled voices in his hazed state. Obviously, he couldn't make them out. Not only for the fact that they sounded muffled, but he also didn't speak or fully understand their language either.
This certainly was one hell of a mess he had gotten himself into. And now, he needs to figure out how to get the hell out of it.
Several hours later...
Natalie woke up with a start. She sat up quickly with a loud gasp.
She was hoping it was all a bad dream. Until she looked around the stark, barren room she was in. And then sadly realized it was all real. Dread dropped into the pit of her stomach.
'What the fuck happened!? Where the hell am I!?' Her mind screamed.
The room she was in looked a lot like a cell. The walls and ceiling, hell, even the floor was made out of metal. The only furniture she saw in the room, was a toilet against the wall with a small sink next to it. And about five feet down from the sink, there was a small showerhead sticking out of the wall around six and a half feet off of the ground.
Natalie looked down and realized she was on a small, lumpy cot. And to her horror, her clothes were gone. They had replaced them with a light grey, cotton tank top with matching grey cotton pants. Her shoes were soft, they felt and looked like slippers of sorts.
Her heart rate started to speed up as she frantically looked around the room. Then she saw a door near the front of a cell in the poorly lit room.
She stumbled off the cot and made her way to the metal door. She grasped the handle and tried to turn it. Of course, it had to be locked.
Then, Natalie started pounding on the thick metal door.
"Hey! Hey let me out! Whoever you are, you can't just keep me in here! Hello!?" She began to yell as she continued to pound on the door.
Yeyinde slowly awoke to some banging noises.
He looked around and noted he was alone in what was a fairly small room. A room that was made out of metal.
They young hunter slowly pulled himself up on the large uncomfortable cot. He places his hand on the wall. It felt pretty solid and thick, he was unsure if he could break through it.
The strange pounding sounds continued. And he also heard what sounded like shouting accompanying the pounding.
Yeyinde looked around for the source of all the noise. When he spotted three small, thin openings in the wall to his left. And by small, they couldn't have been more than two and a half to three inches wide and around the length of his hand.
He went over to the openings, and the sounds gradually got louder.
When he was halfway to the openings, the banging and yelling stopped. But he could make out deep rapid breathing from the other side. And the young hunter still wanted to see what, or shall we say who it was.
When he got to the wall, he noticed the slits were almost eye level with him.
Yeyinde cautiously peaked in and looked around. And that's when he saw movement to the left of his vision through the first slit on the wall near the front of his room.
His eyes widened slightly for a moment, when he saw it was an ooman. And a rather small one at that. The young hunter almost thought it was a pup at first.
Until it turned around and he saw mammary glands.
It was a small adult female! And she was looking around rather frantically and appeared to be in distress. Something that seemed strange to him.
But when he looked around the inside of her room, it looked very similar to his. Was it possible, she was as trapped as he was in here?
Yeyinde shook his head.
'No, that wouldn't make any sense. Why would oomans hold another one of their own in here?' He thought.
But if she was here of her own free will, then why did she appear upset and in distress? He could hear her rapid breaths from here. Then she started making weird noises.
They kind of sounded like small whines, like she was in pain or something.
When no one answered her, Natalie began to softly cry.
She was alone in some strange cell and doesn't know how she got here. And whoever they were, obviously took her phone and her wallet. So, she couldn't even call the police or anyone else for that matter for help.
The young woman was crying for barely a minute when she heard these weird clicking sounds.
They were pretty sharp and loud, almost sounded like...dolphin clicks? She furrowed her brows and looked around to try and pinpoint where they were coming from.
Then her eyes landed on these strange little slits in the wall to her left. There were three altogether and they were spread out in a straight line with at least two-three feet in between them.
They were also a good six and a half feet to nearly seven feet off the ground.
Natalie approached the wall. The clicking faltered a little. But she did follow the strange sound to the slit in the wall closest to the front of the cell.
She slowly walked over to it.
There was something there. Natalie caught movement. Then her eyes widened when she saw a pair of bright amber colored eyes with hints of light green in them. And they were staring down at her.
She let out a small gasp and started to back away.
'Who is that!? What is that!? No one has eyes like that! And whoever they were, they were freakishly tall!' Her mind screamed.
Natalie heard that strange clicking again and this time, there were what sounded like a few chirping sounds mixed in. Her breathing started to accelerate again.
Those sounds, they were coming from whoever this person or thing was that was staring at her!
She didn't move or make a sound. The young, petrified woman just stared back at those creepy eyes. That seemed to be watching her rather intently.
After a few more moments of those strange sounds, they stopped, and Natalie then heard what sounded like a couple grunts.
What she did next seemed rather stupid to her. But given the situation she was in, she could care less right about now. Even if it was dumb of her to do so.
"Heh...Hello? Who are you?" She asked, voice shaky.
The being blinked a couple times, but still continued to stare at her. It didn't make any more of those sounds at the moment, but it doesn't look like it was going to speak either.
Yeyinde was aware the female was communicating with him. But without his translator, he didn't understand what she was saying. Though, he could still see she was afraid.
More silenced followed, and Natalie realized it either wasn't going to speak to her or possibly didn't understand her. And as crazy as it sounds, she doesn't believe the being on the other side of the thick metal wall was human.
If he was, she likes to think he would try to communicate with her in some way, using some kind of language. Plus, she doesn't know of any human beings that could emit the strange clicking, chirping, and grunting sounds that he just made.
Just who was this being? And where the hell was she? Better yet why is she here?
Natalie couldn't make out any other features on this being. The slits in the wall were quite small. And all she could really see are those bright, shiny unnatural looking eyes.
Without his mask on, he can make out some outlined features on the small female.
She had a long dark mane that grew out of her scalp and tumbled down her small shoulders. Everything about her was very small and petite. Both her body structure and her face.
Her face was somewhat oval shaped with some fullness to it. And she had pouty, fleshy lips. Then there were her eyes, quite round and still filled with fear.
Oomans certainly were a strange looking lot. But this young female had an innocent look about her. And as much as he want's nothing more than to get out of here, a part of him wanted to know why she was here.
If only he knew her language better, perhaps he could've asked her.
Natalie had so many thoughts racing through her mind right now. She knew it was people who took her. She recalls the four men she saw in that alley after the firefight she just heard.
The young woman also recalls one of them pulling out a gun and shooting her. Natalie remembers the sharp pain in her abdomen and seeing the strange metallic tube with some red little fuzzies sticking out the back of it.
Then trying to run, only to drop and pass out shortly afterwards.
Her gaze shot from the door to the other being in the room next to her. She wondered if he was truly a prisoner like her. Or if he was really trapped in the same kind of room she was.
Maybe he was in an open space, observing her on his own accord.
No, that doesn't make any sense. It was a human that shot her. They were clearly human men. She doubts they would have any other strange beings working with them.
"Ooman."
Natalie jumped when she heard a strange deep gravelly voice.
Her gaze snapped back to the being on the other side of the wall, who was still staring at her.
"Did you...did you just speak?" She asked, clearly a bit stunned.
Yeyinde clicked in annoyance. He doesn't know why he said the one word that came to mind. It may have grabbed her attention, but she still wouldn't know what he just said.
It was useless, there really was no way of being able to communicate with her.
At this point, it really shouldn't matter. He needed to figure out how to get out of here. If only he could make it to his wrist comp and weapons.
If he could, he would fight his way out of here, or die trying. At least with his wrist comp, he could activate the akrei-non if he became severely wounded trying to get out.
Or if he succeeds and manages to make it out, he could contact his brother and the others and have them come by and pick him up.
Yeyinde had to figure out a way to find and get to his weapons and awu'asa. It may be his only sure shot at getting out of here. Without them, he may be only able to make it so far before he is taken out by some high-powered weapon or another.
While it's true, that he could take out many oomans with his bare hands, he's uncertain just how many oomans are here. And no doubt, they may all be heavily armed.
The young hunter eventually pulled away from the wall and started to pace around the small room, trying to figure a way out.
While Natalie, eventually left and went to go sit back on the cot. All she felt like she could do right now, is wait for someone to come into this cell.
Only then, will she get answers as to what she's doing here and why.
Until Next Time ;)
