Hey, guys. Here's Chapter 06 of the Fusion Arc. Man, I am on a roll, I can't stop writing. Got another interview next week so I'm hoping that goes well.

Chapter 06: Judgement on the Guardians

Virtual World – Courtroom

"Now, Shingo Sawatari. Construct your deck using the database of Kaiba and Leo Corporation." Oka ordered as a wall of cards appeared in front of Sawatari.

"Fine then." Sawatari started picking his cards. "Oh, I definitely need to have you. Oh, this one is a must."

"Shingo Sawatari, he's most proficient with his Abyss Actors Deck. Fortunately, I have a good counter to that deck." Oka thought.

"I'm done your Honor." Sawatari played along.

"Good, now you pick one of those monsters to serve as your Deck Master." Oka said.

"Let's see…" Sawatari looked at his deck. "Hm…Big Star is my ace, it should be a no brainer that he should be my Deck Master…but…if the Deck Master is destroyed, I will automatically lose the Duel. I can't risk it." Sawatari looked for more cards.

"Okay, I pick this one, Abyss Actor – Liberty Dramatist!" A female fiend with multiple scripts appeared next to Sawatari. "I'll be counting on you; can you tell me what you're Deck Master Effect is?"

"My Deck Master Effect" allows you two options. First, once per turn, you can add a random Abyss Script or Prop card from your deck to your hand. Second, when an Abyss Actor monster you control is destroyed, you can add a previous Abyss Script or Prop card from your Graveyard to your hand." Liberty Dramatist explained her effect.

"Nice." Sawatari grinned.

"As you can see, my Deck Master is Judge Man. Now, let's begin our Duel!" Oka and Sawatari inserted their decks in their Duel Disks and activated them.

"Duel!" Sawatari and Oka declared.

"I shall take the first move! Draw!" Oka drew his card. "I summon Hysteric Angel (ATK: 1800, LV: 4)!" An angel wearing a suit and glasses appeared and she looked smug. "I end my turn."

"My turn! Draw!" Sawatari drew his card. "I can't really set a good scale, but its time to use my Deck Master's Effect."

"I summon Abyss Actor – Curtain Raiser (ATK: 1100, LV: 4, PS: 7)!" Sawatari summoned his actor dressed as a curtain. "If this is the only monster on the field, its Attack Points are doubled.

Curtain Raiser (ATK: 1100→2200)

"Next, I activate Liberty Dramatist's Deck Master Ability!" Sawatari turned to his Deck Master and she nodded. She looked through her binder and scanned through it. She then snapped her fingers and a card popped out of Sawatari's deck and he took it.

"Sweet. I activate the Continuous Magic: Abyss Prop – Wild Wagon! With this, I can target one Abyss Actor monster and until the end of my opponent's turn, they cannot target it with card effects! Furthermore, the monster can negate destruction in battle once per turn!" Sawatari smiled.

"Battle! Curtain Raiser, attack Hysteric Angel!" Curtain Raiser charged in making Hysteric Angel scared before destroying her and damaging Oka.

"I end my turn!" Sawatari smiled.

"He used his Deck Master's Ability so soon. He's learning faster than I thought." Oka thought. "My turn! Draw!" Oka drew his card. "I set a monster in Defense Position and end my turn!"

"My turn! Draw!" Sawatari drew his card. "Still not a good enough scale. Let's see if I'm two for two today."

"I summon Abyss Actor – Wild Hope (ATK: 1600, LV: 4, PS: 2)!" Sawatari summoned his cowboy. "Since I have another Abyss Actor, Curtain Raiser's Attack Points return to normal."

Curtain Raiser (ATK: 2200→1100)

"Now I activate my Deck Master's Ability!" Liberty Dramatist made another card pop out of Sawatari's deck.

"Oh yeah, I'm on a roll!" Sawatari smiled. "I activate the Magic Card: Abyss Script – Wild West Shootout!" The script appeared in Wild Hope's hands and he read it before drawing his guns.

"This is a special script made especially Wild Hope! When it destroys a monster in Defense Position, not only will it deal you piercing damage, but I'm able to add an Abyss Pendulum Monster from my deck to my hand with Attack Points equal or lower than the damage inflicted!" Sawatari revealed.

"And then I activate Wild Hope's effect! Once per turn, it can gain 100 Attack Points for each Abyss Actor with a different name on my field! It's not much but every little bit helps!" Wild Hope got stronger.

Wild Hope (ATK: 1600→1800)

"Battle! Wild Hope, attack his Defense Monster! Dual Pistol!" Wild Hope fired his two guns and it destroyed an angel monster and damaging Oka.

Oka LP: 3600→2200

"Skelengel's Reverse Effect! I can draw one card from my deck." Oka drew one more card.

"Go! Curtain Raiser! Direct Attack!" Curtain Raiser jumped towards Oka and struck him hard, making him falter.

Oka LP: 2200→1100

"Y-You have remarkable skills." Oka winced.

"Oh, I have skills, but this is hard work I'm showing you. Like my Papa worked hard to give me a good childhood, I worked hard so I could keep up, no to surpass my rivals and Pro Duelists!" Sawatari thought of Yuya and Reiji.

"This time, I'll target Wild Hope with Wild Wagon's effect and end my turn!" Sawatari finished his turn.

"My turn! Draw!" Oka drew his card. "Ah, yes, just the card that I needed. Time to shatter his confidence."

"I summon Holy Elf (DEF: 2000, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" Oka summoned the elf. "Then, I set two cards and end my turn."

Sawatari LP: 4000, Hand: 5

"My turn! Draw!" Sawatari drew his card. "Alright, I got a good scale now!"

"Using the Scale 0 Abyss Actor – Mellow Madonna and the Scale 9 Abyss Actor – Twinkle Little Star, I set the Pendulum Scale!" Sawatari set his scale and his two actors appeared.

"With this, I can simultaneously summon monsters from Levels 1 to 8! The stage is set! Now let the spotlights of the heavens shine down on the dark underworld! Pendulum Summon! Come forth! My monsters!" Sawatari shouted as the portal opened and three monsters came out.

"Abyss Actor – Big Star (ATK: 2500, LV: 7, PS: 3)! Abyss Actor – Devil Heel (ATK: 3000, LV: 8, PS: 1)! And Abyss Actor – Pretty Heroine (ATK: 1500, LV: 4, PS: 2)!" Sawatari filled up his field.

"The all-star cast is finally here. I—" Sawatari was gonna continue.

"I activate my Deck Master Effect!" Oka interrupted.

"You're activating it now?!" Sawatari exclaimed.

"Life Sentence!" Oka slammed his gavel and all of Sawatari's monsters disappeared and he felt pain.

Sawatari LP: 4000→1500

"I lost more than half of my Life Points." Sawatari grunted.

"My Deck Master Effect, by paying 1000 Life Points, I can destroy all monsters on your field and for each one destroyed, you take 500 points of damage." Oka revealed.

Oka LP: 1100→100

"It's just like Jack's Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight's effect." Sawatari growled. "And he chose when I had a full field."

"But he only has 100 Life Points left, he can't use that effect anymore." Sawatari thought. "No, don't think that. A guy like that will have a way to replenish his Life Points. Anyway, I have to limit how many monsters I summon from now on."

"At this point, I'll play my Continuous Trap: God's Blessing! Now every time I draw a card, I will gain 500 Life Points." Oka revealed.

"Damn it, there are times I hate when I'm right." Sawatari looked at the last card in his hand. "Liberty Dramatist." Sawatari looked at his Deck Master and she nodded. Sawatari got another card in his hand.

"I still have a Normal Summon this turn! I summon Abyss Actor – Comic Relief in Defense Position (DEF: 2000, LV: 3, PS: 8)!" Sawatari summoned his fat joke character. "I set one card and end my turn!"

Academia – Team 4

Rio, Ruri and Shun were started to get exhausted as they walked towards their pillar. They had to hike along long roads, climb steep cliffs, cross a river on a very old and rickety bridge.

"Hey, are we there yet?" Ruri asked.

"According to the map we're close." Shun looked at the map.

"You said that an hour ago." Rio complained and her stomach grumbled. "Great now I'm hungry."

"Didn't you bring a snack?" Ruri asked.

"Yeah, I ate them after that cliff climb." Rio said. "Don't supposed you guys have any to spare."

"I ate mine after crossing that bridge." Ruri admitted.

"I ate mine before we left the ship." Shun admitted.

Rio sighed before she noticed some apples in the trees. "Oh cool, apples!" Rio ran up to one of the trees and started climbing.

"Rio, we have to keep moving! The longer it takes to take down those pillars? The more of an advantage Academia has!" Shun shouted.

"Look I'm just gonna grab a couple and we'll move on!" Rio started picking apples and putting them in her bag. "Oh, I'll definitely grab you." Rio reached for a really big apple.

Suddenly, a tall and muscular young man with a wide chest and large shoulders with long reddish-brown hair, wearing ragged shorts, necklace with fangs and orbs wristband and a gladiatorial clothing appeared and roared at Rio, making her scream and fall off the tree branch she was on.

"O-Ow…" Rio winced.

"Rio!" Ruri and Shun ran up to her but the young man got in between them and he shoved them both back hard with his hands and he carried Rio on his shoulder.

"H-Hey?! I have a boyfriend Tarzan!" Rio shouted. The young man then jumped from tree branch to tree branch with Rio. "Get your hands off me!"

"Come on!" Ruri ran after them.

"Ruri, wait!" Shun followed.

Ruri and Shun kept running until the both got too tired. "I can't…keep running…" Ruri panted as sweat poured down her face.

"Damn it…" Shun cursed. He then noticed where they were. "Ruri, this is it. This is the pillar."

"Huh?" Ruri looked and saw some ruins and a very old short pillar. "That's it? I thought it would be bigger."

"Maybe that brute that took Rio is here." Shun speculated.

"Rio!" Ruri called out. "Rio are you here?!" Ruri then stepped on an old medallion and it caused green light to burst from the ground. "W-What?!"

"Ruri stay close!" Shun pulled Ruri to him.

"Shun, the sun!" Ruri pointed upwards and the sun was split into three.

"What kind of trick is this?" Shun wondered.

The three suns then shot a beam down on Ruri and Shun, making them wince as the brightness.

Gravekeeper's Pyramid

When the light died down, Ruri and Shun opened their eyes and they noticed the area around them changed. "Wait, these were ruins, right? Why do they look brand new?" Ruri wondered.

"I don't like this. Let's just get out of here." Shun said. Suddenly, multiple footsteps were heard and both the Kurosaki siblings were surrounded by men in black cloaks with very sharp spears.

"Scum, are you Academia?" Kurosaki growled.

"What are you doing here? This area is off limits, those without permission will be punished." A young woman with long hair and black cloak and green earrings approached them.

"Look, we mean no harm. We just want to save our friend." Ruri said.

"Sara, should we bring them to the chief, so that he could judge them?" One of the soldiers asked.

"Judge?! We don't have time for this!" Shun activated his Duel Disk. One of the soldiers unleashed an orb of magic and shot it right at Shun's chest, making him grunt in pain.

"Shun!" Ruri cried out. "Please, stop! Take us to your chief. We won't fight back!" Ruri removed her Duel Disk and dropped in on the ground.

Sara picked up Ruri's Duel Disk. "Take them to the chief." Sara ordered.

"Yes!" Two soldiers grabbed Shun by his arms and dragged him off while Sara tied Ruri's hands together.

"For your sakes, do as I say and you will at least be given a chance to defend yourself." Sara advised Ruri as she took her into custody.

Gravekeeper's Pyramid – Royal Chamber

Shun grunted as he was forced on his knees as the soldier kept him pinned down. "On your knees." Sara ordered and Ruri got down.

Approaching them was a man with a beard and wearing an Egyptian styled clothing. "More graverobbers come to take from our family?" Gravekeeper's Chief asked.

"Say access my mind." Sara whispered.

"Access my mind." Ruri spoke, making the Chief look at her. He then pulled out a Millennium Item. "What's that?"

"This is an ancient item known as the Millennium Ankh it has the ability to let me read your minds. I will see what you saw and I will experience what you already have." The Chief held the key to Ruri's forehead and turned it.

"What are you doing?!" Shun growled.

"Silence!" A soldier hit Shun on the head.

Ruri's Mind

The Chief looked into Ruri's mind, including her most happy memories in Heartland before the invasion, her sad memories of the invasion and pain caused by it.

He also saw her connections to other people including Yuya, Yuzu, Rin, Serena, Gongenzaka, Sawatari, Asuka, Rio and Crow.

"This child has gone through so much as such an early age." He then noticed a door in front in the distance. He walked towards it and he opened it and a flock of birds flew right out of it.

"Ah, birds. Magnificent creatures." The Chief smiled.

Royal Chamber

The Chief removed the key from Ruri's forehead. "This girl's mind does not wish to us harm." The Chief declared, making Ruri smile. "However, it does not excuse the actions that this young man has attempted on our family. His punishment is to be buried alive and lost to oblivion."

"Wait!" Ruri begged. "I know my brother can be an idiot."

"Hey!" Shun got ticked off by that comment.

"But he's still my brother. Please, if there's anything that I can do. I'll do it." Ruri begged. "We just want to go home and end this war we're in."

"Hm? Your memories did indeed show you this war. I am to assume that it was done by Leo Akaba. Hm...I have been ordered not to let anyone outside from entering the school. That's why I enchanted the pillar so that all that come near it are transported to this place." The Chief explained.

"But…I see that you do care for your brother. Even though I don't see the resemblance." The Chief commented.

"Why does everyone always say that?" Shun grumbled.

"Very well, I will give you a chance to free him as well as powering down the pillar. All you have to do is to take part in our ritual of ordeals…and win." The Chief explained.

"A ritual?" Ruri asked. The Chief smiled and showed a deck. "Oh, okay. I'll do it. If I win, Shun and I go back."

"You are a very brave woman. However, if you lose, you will join your brother to be buried alive. I will extract your liver, making you a mummy." The Chief said.

Ruri had chills sent down her spine. "You didn't have to say that!" Ruri exclaimed.

Gravekeeper's Pyramid – Duel Arena

Ruri and the Chief took their place at the top of the Pyramid facing each other while Shun was forced to watch on the side while still being held prisoner.

"Let the ritual begin!" The Chief activated his Duel Disk.

"I'm ready!" Ruri activated her Duel Disk.

"Duel!" Ruri and the Chief declared.

"I'll take the first move. Draw!" The Chief drew his card. "I set a monster in Defense Position! I end my turn!"

"My turn! Draw!" Ruri drew her card. "When I have no monsters on my field, I can Special Summon Lyrical Luscinia – Turquoise Warbler (ATK: 100, LV: 1)!" Ruri summoned her small bird monster.

"And with its Monster Effect, I can Special Summon one Lyrical Luscinia monster from my hand! Appear! Lyrical Luscinia – Celeste Wagtail (ATK: 200, LV: 1)!" Ruri summoned her other tiny bird.

"When Celeste Wagtail is Special Summoned, I can add one Lyrical Luscinia Magic or Trap Card from my deck to my hand!" Ruri added a card from her deck to her hand.

"I Overlay my Level 1 Turquoise Warbler and Celeste Wagtail!" The two monsters turned into green lights and entered the spacelike portal in front of Ruri.

"Beautiful birds that flock together! Appear on the battlefield and drown out our enemies with your song! Xyz Summon! Appear! Rank 1! Lyrical Luscinia – Recite Starling (ATK: 0, RNK: 1, OVU: 2)!" Ruri summoned a tall bird monster with blue and red feathers.

"Xyz…" The Chief looked at Ruri's monster.

"Recite Starling gains 500 Attack Points for every Overlay Unit it possesses!" Ruri said as Recite Starling gained more power.

Recite Starling (ATK: 0→1000)

"Battle! Recite Starling, attack his Defense Monster!" Recite Starling sang her song and the monster flipped over to reveal a buff monster with black robes and spear.

"My Gravekeeper's Guard has 1900 Defense Points! Therefore, your attack is repelled and you take damage!" Gravekeeper's Guard threw its spear and it cut through Recite Starling's song and the spear cut Ruri's arm making her wince.

Ruri LP: 4000→3100

"Recite Starling's effect! All Battle Damage that I take from attacks involving Recite Starling are inflicted on my opponent!" Ruri revealed. Recite Starling grabbed the spear and threw it towards the chief, making a cut on his arm as well.

Chief LP: 4000→3100

"Very well played." The Chief complimented Ruri. "However, you have still activated Gravekeeper's Guard's Reverse Effect! It allows me to return one monster on the field to the owner's hand! Gravekeeper's Barrier Wave!" Gravekeeper's Guard created a wave that sent Recital Starling back to Ruri's Extra Deck.

"Now…what will you do?" The Chief asked.

Ruri looked at her remaining hand. "I Normal Summon Lyrical Luscinia – Quartz Bat (DEF: 1000, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" Ruri summoned one of her stronger monsters. "Then, I set two cards and end my turn!"

"My turn! Draw!" The Chief drew his card. "I summon Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier (ATK: 1500, LV: 4)!" A soldier just like the ones that took Shun and Ruri into custody appeared.

"You may think you're safe, but Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier's effect inflicts piercing damage when it attacks a monster in Defense Position!" The Chief revealed, alarming Ruri.

"Battle! Spear Soldier, attack Quartz Bat! Swift Spear Clash!" Spear Soldier pierced his spear through the poor bird and the tip of the spear grazed Ruri's leg, cutting her pants and cutting her leg.

Ruri LP: 3100→2600

"Now! Gravekeeper's Guard! Direct Attack! Guard Whirlwind Strike!" The guard charged and struck Ruri on her shoulder and a loud crack was heard and Ruri screamed in pain.

Ruri LP: 2600→1600

"Ruri!" Shun shouted. "You bastards! Let me go!"

"Looks like you don't know your place. Put him in the coffin!" The Chief ordered.

"Sir!" The soldiers nodded.

A mage used his staff to tie Shun completely while the others pushed him down the wall and into a stone coffin. "Shun!" Ruri cried out.

"Relax, you can still save him. But you have to win." The Chief said. "But you will share his fate if you lose."

Ruri held her shoulder. "The pain is on a whole other level. I have to end this before my body gives out." Ruri thought.

"I activate my Trap Card: Lyrical Luscinia Rescue! This card is activated when a Lyrical Luscinia monster on my field is destroyed! I Special Summon it from the Graveyard while Special Summoning a Lyrical Luscinia monster that is the same Level from my deck! Revive! Quartz Owl (DEF: 1000, LV: 4)! And from my deck, Lyrical Luscinia – Fluorite Owl (DEF: 800, LV: 4)!" Ruri summoned two monsters.

"I end my turn." The Chief finished his turn.

"My turn! Draw!" Ruri drew her card. "I Overlay my Level 4 Quartz Owl and Fluorite Owl!" The two monsters entered the spacelike portal in front of Ruri as green lights.

"Wings of the ancients! Erase the darkness of the battlefield and bring back the light! Descend now! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4! The mighty leader of the Lyrical Luscinia! Lyrical Eagle Dragon (ATK: 2500, RNK: 4, OVU: 2)!" Ruri summoned her dragon to the field.

"Oh…" The Chief was amazed by Ruri's dragon.

"This is my ace monster! With her power, I'll save my brother! Battle! Lyrical Eagle Dragon, attack Gravekeeper's Guard! Golden Sky Drill!" Lyrical Eagle Dragon spun like a drill and pierced right through the muscular guard, destroying it and making the Chief flinch.

"I set one more card and end my turn!" Ruri finished her turn.

"My turn! Draw!" The Chief drew his card. "I activate Pot of Greed! I draw two cards!" The Chief threw his cards and smiled. "I activate the Field Magic: Valley Where the Royal Family Rests – Necrovalley!" The field around them changed into a valley.

"As long as this card is on the field, all Gravekeeper monsters gain 500 Attack and Defense Points! Furthermore, all effects that target the Graveyard are negated and they cannot be banished!" The Chief informed.

"So, the Graveyard is off limits. In other words, I can't rob the grave." Ruri realized.

"And now, I release Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier! I Advance Summon Gravekeeper's High Priest (ATK: 2000, LV: 8)!" A man wearing Anubis mask and clothes appeared on the throne. "I can Advance Summon this card with only one release if the released monster is a Gravekeeper."

"And with Necrovalley's effect, it gains 500 Attack Points!" Gravekeeper's High Priest gained power.

Gravekeeper High Priest (ATK: 2000→2500)

"And with High Priest's Monster Effect, for every Gravekeeper monster in my Graveyard, it gains 200 Attack Points! The Chief added as the High Priest gained more power.

High Priest (ATK: 2500→2900)

"But I'm not done yet! From my hand, I activate the Magic Card: Dual Summon! This allows me to summon once more this turn! I summon Gravekeeper's Assassin (ATK: 1500, LV: 4)!" The Chief summoned another Gravekeeper with a knife and cloak.

"Her power increases thanks to Necrovalley!" The Chief added

Assassin (ATK: 1500→2000)

"Battle! High Priest, attack Lyrical Eagle Dragon! Priest Judgement!" High Priest unleashed a blast towards Lyrical Eagle Dragon.

"I activate my Trap Card: Card Defense! By discarding one card from my hand, I can negate a monster's attack and draw one card!" Ruri discarded a card from her hand.

"That move was your downfall! From my hand, I activate Gravekeeper Watcher's effect! When my opponent activates an effect where they discard cards from their hand, by sending this card to the Graveyard, I can negate the activation and destroy it!" Gravekeeper Watcher negated Ruri's card.

"The battles continues! Go, Gravekeeper Priest!" The Priest unleashed its blast.

"I can't let Lyrical Eagle Dragon enter the Graveyard!" Ruri thought. "Counter Trap: Eagle Rush! When a monster battles Lyrical Eagle Dragon, by using all of its Overlay Units, the Battle Phase is forced to end!" Lyrical Eagle Dragon used its Overlay Units to fly out of the way of the magical blast.

"Damn it. Now Ruri can't use Lyrical Eagle Dragon's effect to defeat that priest." Shun cursed as he saw what happened.

"Hmph, it seems those lights surrounding your monster made it hold a power, but with it gone, you're Xyz Monster is no more than a Normal Monster. I set one card and end my turn."

Ruri LP: 1600, Hand: 1

"He's right. I can't use Lyrical Eagle Dragon's effect. But I can't let her go to the Graveyard. If she's in the Graveyard before I can destroy Necrovalley, then I've lost." Ruri put her fingers on her deck.

"My turn! Draw!" Ruri drew her card. "I switch Lyrical Eagle Dragon to Defense Position!" Lyrical Eagle crouched down.

Lyrical Eagle (DEF: 2000)

"Next, I set one card and end my turn!" Ruri ended her turn.

"My turn! Draw!" The Chief drew his card. "I summon Gravekeeper's Shaman (ATK: 800, LV: 3)!" The Chief summoned his shaman. "When this card is summoned, the opponent takes 500 points of damage!" The Shaman did a spell that made Ruri cover hear ears and scream.

Ruri LP: 1600→1100

"Next, I activate the Equip Magic: Gravekeeper's Blessing! I equip it to High Priest! With this, High Priest is able to attack as many times as Gravekeeper monsters I have on the field, except for itself. Furthermore, it's allowed to use one of my other monster's effects during the battle!"

"This is the end! Battle! High Priest, attack Lyrical Eagle Dragon! At this moment, High Priest uses Gravekeeper Assassin's effect! When it battles while Necrovalley is on the field, I can change the Battle Position of the opposing monster!" Lyrical Eagle Dragon switched to Attack Position.

Lyrical Eagle Dragon (ATK: 2500)

"Priest Judgement!" High Priest unleashed its attack.

"I activate the Continuous Trap: Lyrical Blessing! By sending one Lyrical Luscinia card from my hand to the Graveyard, one Lyrical monster on my field gains its effect! I send Lyrical Luscinia – Diamond Cassowary to the Graveyard and its effect prevents Lyrical Eagle Dragon from being destroyed by battle or card effects!" High Priest struck Lyrical Eagle Dragon.

"You protected your dragon! But you fail to protect your Life Points! High Priest! Punish her!" The Chief ordered and the priest cast a magic that made Ruri scream in pain as she felt like she was being tortured.

Ruri LP: 1100→700

"Stop!" Shun shouted angrily from his coffin.

"High Priest! Attack once more!" High Priest cast his spell again and Ruri screamed even louder and the pain increased once more.

Ruri LP: 700→300

"I end my turn!" The Chief finished his turn. "I admire your bravery in wanting to save your brother, but it's disappointing that you cannot even save yourself."

"You bastard! You'll pay for hurting my sister!" Shun cursed.

"Silence!" The Chief barked at Shun. "The blame of your sister's suffering is on you as well! Had you simply refrained yourself from attacking my soldiers, I would've let you off with a warning!"

"Now, Ruri Kurosaki, begin your turn!" The Chief pointed at Ruri, who was still on the ground, her eyes were empty from all the pain she had to go through. "It appears the Dark Duel has shattered her mind."

"Ruri!" Shun shouted loud but Ruri didn't respond.

"For your bravery and selflessness, you shall be buried in the highest honor." The Chief was ready to call the Duel.

Caw! Caw!

The Chief looked up and he saw crows circling above them. More and more kept coming as they kept cawing. "What is this?" The Chief questioned.

Ruri's bracelet then let out a bright light surprising everyone present and when it died down, Ruri was standing on her feet. "Will you continue?" The Chief asked.

Ruri opened her eyes to reveal that they were white out and glowing yellow like her bracelet. The crows all swirled around Ruri and they kept cawing louder and louder.

Chief LP: 1600, Hand: 0
Ruri LP: 300, Hand: 0

"My turn. Draw." Ruri drew her card but her voice was cold and cruel. "I activate Rank-Up Magic – Supreme Queen's Dark Force. This Ranks up an Xyz Monster on my field to an Xyz Monster that is two Ranks higher.

"You're evolving your dragon?!" The Chief asked.

"With Lyrical Eagle Dragon, I reconstruct the Overlay Network." Lyrical Eagle Dragon let out a screen before flying into the sky.

"Birds that prey on the fallen, gather before this wasteland and feast on the fools that have chosen death! Rank Up Xyz Change! Appear! Rank 6! Leader of birds that feast on death! Supreme Queen Scavenger Dragon – Lyrical Vulture Dragon (ATK: 3000, RNK: 6, OVU: 1)!" Appearing was a vulture version of Lyrical Eagle Dragon, but it had very dark feathers and blood red eyes.

"You're Necrovalley has a major flaw." Ruri spoke.

"What do you mean?" The Chief.

"Necrovalley can negate card effects that target the Graveyard, but it cannot negate an effect that counts cards in the Graveyard." Ruri revealed. "When Lyrical Vulture Dragon is summoned via Rank-Up, for every Lyrical Luscinia monster in my Graveyard, it gains 200 points!" Lyrical Vulture Dragon screeched as it gained power.

Lyrical Vulture Dragon (ATK: 3000→3800)

"I could attack you're Shaman and end this Duel. But I want you to experience Lyrical Vulture Dragon's full power! I activate its other effect! By using one Overlay Unit, it returns all cards on the opponent's field into their hand! Vulture Cry!" Vulture Dragon consumed the Overlay Unit and let out an ear-splitting cry that made everyone cover their ears.

Lyrical Vulture Dragon (OVU: 1→0)

All of the Chief's cards returned to his hand as he continued to cover his ears. "Battle! Lyrical Vulture Dragon! Direct Attack! Death Bite!" Lyrical Vulture Dragon flew towards the Chief and bit down on his shoulder hard, making him scream.

Chief LP: 1600→0

Winner: Ruri Kurosaki

"Chief!" Sara went to the chief along with the soldiers.

"Let's go." Ruri ordered Lyrical Vulture Dragon. Ruri jumped on Lyrical Vulture Dragon and it flew down and picked up Shun from his coffin and they flew off towards the three suns that were just joining together.

"Chief." Sara held him.

"I'm fine." The Chief assured her. "Though, I'm worried for that girl."

"What do you mean, sir?" A soldier asked.

"I looked within her mind with Millennium Ankh and there was purity within her. But just now, that monster it was made out of chaos and death. That girl may have something else within her that she might not be aware of or control. And her eyes, there was nothing but a void. I fear for those that face her in the future." The Chief said.

Academia – Gravekeeper Ruins

In a flash of light, Shun hit the floor while Ruri slowly descended and landed on her feet. "Ruri." Shun looked at his sister. Her eyes were still shining yellow.

"I don't care anymore…" Ruri said coldly. "I don't care about anyone or anything…they all deserve death."

"What are you saying?" Shun asked.

"Academia, the traitors of Heartland, they don't deserve a second chance. The world is better off without them." Ruri said.

"That's enough!" Shun grabbed Ruri by her shoulders. "Why are you saying these things?! This is not who you are!"

"Do you want to die?" Ruri glared at Shun.

"Ruri…I don't want to see you like this." Shun stepped back and activated his Duel Disk. "I'll snap you out of it!"

"Weakling." Ruri activated her Duel Disk.

Academia Hallway

"Damn it! Not again!" Eve was running through the halls as she felt the Eve Factor change again. "Why is this happening now?!"

"You have no one to blame but yourself." Eve stopped when she turned to see Genesis leaning on a pillar. "There's a lot of factors that led to your failure before and you're repeating them again."

"What do you want?" Eve growled.

"First, in your hastiness to revive Adam and Yusho's negative emotions against Zarc, you both tampered with the purity of the Adam and Eve factor that you possessed." Genesis explained.

"That's why I told you both to be patient. Time purifies the factors and when it was right, paradise would have been found. But here you are, making the same mistake again."

"I'm not the one that's doing it! Those girls are messing with it!" Eve argued.

"There you go, blaming others for your failure." Genesis shook her head in disappointment. "All you had to do was stick with my plan."

"I don't have time for this!" Eve ran away.

"Getting a happily ever after is not that easy. Even the greatest of heroes don't get them. You will never get it Eve, nor will Leo Akaba, Yusho Sakaki, Yuya Ryuga or even me." Genesis said before she disappeared.

Preview: Sawatari continues his Duel against Oka, who's Deck Master Effect is limiting Sawatari's options. Though Sawatari does his best to find a strategy to beat Oka's formation, Oka reveals a dark secret about Sawatari's mother. Also, Shun tries to get Ruri to snap back to her senses, but Ruri continuously beats Shun down with no emotion.
