Chapter 14: Fighting the Ones We Love

"Judging from the look on your face, you seem very close to the Dragon Soldier." Daitokuji said.

"W-Well…" Serena clutched her pendant.

"Either way, if you want to see him again, you have to get past me, and you must determine whether your dragon will control you or you control the dragon. My turn! Draw!" Daitokuji resumed the Duel.

"I activate the Magic Card: Chaos Greed! I can only activate this card if I have no cards in my Graveyard and I have four or more cards banished! I draw two cards!" Daitokuji drew two new cards.

"I set a monster in Defense Position! Then, I set two cards and end my turn!" Daitokuji finished his turn.

"Sensei doesn't make a move that's wasted. That set monster must have a Reverse Effect…but I can't even attack since Elemental Absorber is on the field." Serena thought.

"My turn! Draw!" Serena drew her card. "This might help." Serena smiled. "I activate the Magic Card: Dimensional Moon Fusion! By returning Fusion Materials from my hand or Graveyard to my Extra Deck, I can Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster that has been banished! From my Graveyard, I fuse Moonlight Blue Cat and Moonlight Purple Butterfly!" Serena returned the cards to her deck.

"Blue cat that prowls through the darkness! Butterfly with violet poison! Spiral into the moon's gravity and become a new power! Fusion Summon! Come to me! Beautiful beast that dances in the moonlight! Moonlight Cat Dancer (ATK: 2400, LV: 7)!" Serena brought back her Cat Dancer.

"Another strong monster but…" Johan looked grim.

"As long as Elemental Absorber is on the field, Serena can't attack. There was basically no point in summoning Cat Dancer." Dennis said.

"Actually, there is." Serena looked at Dennis. "The Fusion Monster summoned by Dimensional Moon Fusion is unaffected by the effects of the opponent's Magic and Trap Cards!"

"Nice, even though it's a Dark Attribute Monster, Elemental Absorber won't stop Cat Dancer from attacking!" Johan smiled.

"Battle! Cat Dancer, attack the Defense Monster! Full Moon Crest!" Cat Dancer destroyed the set monster.

"The card you destroyed was Metamor Pot! Due to its effect, we must discard our hands and draw five cards!" Daitokuji banished his last card and both him and Serena drew five cards.

"That is impressive, Serena…A magnificent use of Fusion! That will draw out your power to suppress Moonlight Dancer Dragon from possessing you!" Daitokuji praised.

"My power?" Serena questioned.

"Furthermore, you brought out the perfect monster that can help you achieve that power. Just remember that Moonlight Dancer Dragon wasn't the only card that helped you along the way."

"Serena, watch closely! This is the ultimate alchemy that I have attained! The Continuous Trap: Macro Cosmos! This card activates by banishing a Chaos Distill on my field!" The Chaos Distill exploded, blinding Serena, Johan and Dennis.

When everything died down, everyone was now in space. "Wha-Where are we?" Serena looked around.

"Our Duel has now been taken into the cosmos, and has ascended beyond the human world. Due to the effect of Macro Cosmos, I am allowed to Special Summon Helios – The Primordial Sun (ATK: 1100, LV: 4) from my hand or deck!" Daitokuji summoned a female with a sun for a head.

"What lies at the top is like what lies at the bottom, and what lies at the bottom is like what lies at the top…These words are the truth of the world that is written in this Emerald Tablet." Daitokuji showed his tablet again. "Everything in the world is born through one substance, which changes variably, creating the sky and the earth. Furthermore, all things are connected, and they inflict an influence on each other."

"As do the world of the humans in the Micro Cosmos and the world of the sky in the Macro Cosmos…sadly, many people are influenced by modern day science and technology that they can't possibly understand it. But alchemy is a miraculous artist that makes the impossible possible. I activate the Quick-Play Magic: Planet Alignment!" The planets started to align themselves.

"The gravity waves created through Planet Alignment…destroys all monsters on the opponent's field and inflict 300 points of damage!" The gravity wave made Moonlight Dancer Dragon roar in pain before she was destroyed. Moonlight Cat Dancer, however avoided the waves.

Serena LP: 1000→700

"The Fusion Monster summoned by Dimensional Moon Fusion cannot be destroyed until the end of the opponent's turn." Serena winced from the pain. "I set one card and end my turn."

Serena LP: 700, Hand: 4

"My turn! Draw!" Daitokuji drew his card. "I activate the Magic Card: Yellow Process – Kitolenics! This card releases Helios – The Primordial Sun to summon Helios Duo Megistus (ATK: ?, LV: 6)!" Daitokuji summoned a smaller, stouter version of Helios.

"For every Monster Card that is banished from the game, Helios Duo Megistus raises its Attack Points by 200 points! I have 12 monsters banished from the game! Therefore, Helios Duo Megistus's Attack Points go to 2400!"

Helios Duo Megistus (ATK: 2400)

"Its Attack Points are the same as Cat Dancer." Dennis said.

"But Cat Dancer won't be destroyed this turn. Serena is safe." Johan said.

"Is that so?" Daitokuji questioned, alarming the group. "Battle! Helios Duo Megistus, attack Moonlight Cat Dancer! Vulcan Flame!" Helios Duo Megistus unleashed a powerful flame towards Cat Dancer. Cat Dancer danced to dodged it before striking Megistus down.

"Helios Duo Megistus's effect activates! This monster is revived when it is destroyed and its Attack Points increase by 300!" Helios Duo Megistus came back to the field.

Helios Duo Megistus (ATK: 2400→2700)

"Helios Duo Megistus attacks!" Megistus did her attack again and this time it hurt both Cat Dancer and Serena.

Serena LP: 700→400

"I set one card and end my turn. Now it's your turn." Daitokuji said.

Daitokuji LP: 2200, Hand: 3
Serena LP: 400, Hand: 4

"My turn! Draw!" Serena drew her card. "I summon Moonlight Black Sheep (ATK: 100, LV: 2)!" Serena summoned her dancer dressed as a sheep. "Next, I activate Fusion! I fuse Cat Dancer with Black Sheep!" Serena's two monsters entered the spiraling vortex.

"The beast lurking in jet-black darkness! The beautiful wild beast dancing under the moonlight! Swarm in the vortex of the moon's gravity and revive with a new power! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Elegant beast dancing on the moonlit wilderness! Moonlight Panther Dancer (ATK: 2800, LV: 8)!" Serena summoned her stronger Beast-Warrior.

"Panther Dancer is like Cat Dancer that it can attack an opponent's monster twice. But even if you do that, I'll only take 200 points of damage in total and my monster will be revived and become stronger." Daitokuji said.

"That's why I'll use this card." Serena grabbed a card in her hand and raised it into the air. "I activate the Equip Magic: Moonlight Spotlight!" The moon shined a spotlight down on Panther Dance. "This card can only be equipped to a Fusion Moonlight Monster! This card reduces its Attack Points by 1000 but it's allowed to attack the opponent directly!"

Moonlight Panther Dancer (ATK: 2800→1800)

"Go! Panther Dancer! Direct Attack!" Panther Dancer bypassed Helios Duo Megistus and struck Daitokuji.

Daitokuji LP: 2200→400

"Magnificent! That's the way, Serena! Your dragon may be powerful and has helped you out, but your other Fusion Monsters are the source of your roots! They are the key to suppressing Moonlight Dancer Dragon!"

"My other Fusion Monsters…" Serena looked at her Duel Disk.

"That's right." Daitokuji said. "Fusion, which strengthens monsters with mediocre Attack Points to make them even more powerful…and alchemy, which makes nonmetals into jewels…Both of these are one and the same! The endless ability of an alchemist lies dormant within you, a master of fusion!"

"I…can be an alchemist?" Serena questioned.

"Yes, your Moonlight Dancer Dragon and the other Nature Dragons only evolved due to their desire to gain more power. And to get that power, they took it from their hosts." Daitokuji revealed. "Did you notice that after you evolved your dragon, you felt weaker?"

Serena's eyes widened as she heard that. After she defeated Bandit Keith with Moonlight Dancer Dragon's evolved form, she felt really weak, the simplest movement was like agonizing pain. She then noticed how the other girls felt weak when they summoned their own powered up version of their dragons.

"If you thought your will was the reason why the dragons evolved, you were wrong. The dragons used the bracelets to absorb your energy in order to evolve, gradually weakening your stability. But Cat Dancer and Panther Dancer, that's your own power, Serena! It's those monsters and that Fusion that can overpower the will of your Nature Dragon!" Daitokuji said.

"Sensei…I set one card and end my turn!" Serena finished her turn.

"My turn! Draw!" Daitokuji drew his card. "Helios Duos Megistus attack! Vulcan Flame!" Helios Duos Megistus unleashed its attack.

"When the Fusion Monster that is equipped with Moonlight Spotlight is targeted for an attack, I can send this card to the Graveyard to restore Panther Dancer's Attack Points to normal!" The spotlight disappeared and Panther Dancer gained power.

Moonlight Panther Dancer (ATK: 1800→2800)

"Panther Dancer! Counterattack!" Serena shouted.

"Quick-Play Magic: Grand Cross!" Daitokuji played the card he just drew. The planets formed into a cross. "The gravity waves from Grand Cross destroy all monsters on the field, inflicting 300 points of damage to my opponent!" Helios Duos Megistus was destroyed but Panther Dancer dodged the waves.

"Because her monster effect is restored, Panther Dancer cannot be destroyed by card effects!" Serena pointed out before she took the damage.

Serena LP: 400→100

"But Helios Duos Megistus is revived to my field gaining 300 Attack Points!" Daitokuji pointed out.

Helios Duos Megistus (ATK: 2700→3000)

"Go! Vulcan Flame!" Helios Duos Megistus unleashed its attack again at Panther Dancer and it was destroyed. "It's over…" Daitokuji thought it was over but his eyes widened as Serena was still standing. She smiled and pointed upwards. Daitokuji looked up and he saw the moon. "Last Quarter."

"Yes, when you destroyed Panther Dancer, I activated the Trap Card: Last Quarter. When a Moonlight Fusion Monster is destroyed in battle, all battle damage is reduced to 0." Serena said.

"I end my turn!" Daitokuji finished.

Serena LP: 100, Hand: 2

"My turn! Draw!" Serena drew her card. "Set Card, open! Quick-Play Magic: Reload! I send all the cards in my hand back to my deck, shuffle and draw the same number of cards I put in!" Serena put all three of her cards back in her deck and it automatically shuffled and then she drew three cards.

"I summon Moonlight Emerald Bird (DEF: 1000, LV: 4) in Defense Position!" Serena summoned a dancer dressed as a bird. "When this monster is summoned, I can send one Moonlight card from my hand to the Graveyard and draw one card!" Serena discarded a card and drew another one.

"The card I sent to the Graveyard was Moonlight Yellow Marten and when she's sent to the Graveyard by a card effect, I can add one Moonlight Magic or Trap Card from my deck into my hand!" Serena added a card to her hand. "I set one card and end my turn!" Serena finished her turn.

"Serena's running out of options." Dennis said.

"She has to defeat that monster and deplete his Life Points in one shot." Johan said. "But that monster is too strong."

"My turn! Draw!" Daitokuji drew his card. "At last, it is time to usher in the final process of my alchemy! I activate the Magic Card: Red Process – Rubedo! This card releases Helios Duo Megistus to Special Summon Helios Tris Megistus (ATK: ? LV: 8)!" Daitokuji summoned three small humanoid suns.

"For each monster that is banished, this card gains 300 Attack Points! With 13 monsters banished, that's 3900 Attack Points!"

Helios Tris Megistus (ATK: 0→3900)

"That card is OP!" Dennis panicked.

"Helios Tris Megistus, attack Moonlight Emerald Bird! Phoenix Prominence!" The three suns turned into a phoenix and they burned Emerald Bird.

"I end my turn." Daitokuji finished his turn.

Serena LP: 100, Hand: 2

"Damn it…" Serena cursed. "My set card is Moonlight Fusion…this next draw will determine what Fusion Monster I'll call out."

"My turn! Draw!" Serena drew her card. "Resurrection of the Dead."

"Serena, you have to revive me." Moonlight Dancer Dragon spoke to her. "I can unlock a new power but you have to call me out."

"But…" Serena thought of what Daitokuji said. "You're just gonna use my strength to make yourself powerful."

"Don't you want to see Yuya again?! If you lose here, you won't be able to see him ever again!" Moonlight Dancer Dragon called out. "Serena, I do care about you and I want you to be happy, but you can't be happy if you lose here. This is the only way…and you know I'm right."

Daitokuji saw the expression on Serena's face. "Judging from her face, she most likely drew a card to revive a monster from the Graveyard. Moonlight Dancer Dragon may be influencing her." Daitokuji looked at his set card.

"Should that happen, I'll use my set card to banish Moonlight Dancer Dragon. Even if that dragon doesn't want to eradicate humanity, it's best to get it away from Serena. I care too much about her to let anything bad happen to her. I'll take the dragon to my death." Daitokuji thought.

"Daitokuji-sensei, I'm sorry…" Serena apologized. "I don't think I can win with my own power. I have materials and I have everything ready to fuse, but to win, I have to use Moonlight Dancer Dragon. Even if she does take my power, I have to win no matter what."

"Your heart is telling me otherwise." Daitokuji pointed below Serena. Serena blinked and looked down at her pendant, swinging by itself.

"When my pendant sways, it means my heart is confused. When that happens, I just think back as to why I'm still fighting." Yuya's words echoed into her head.

Fusion Dimension – Moonflower Garden

Yuya finished placing the pendant around Serena's neck and held his up. "The only reason that I'm fighting, is because I want to save the Four Dimension. And that everyone can realize what true Dueling is all about."

"True Dueling…" Serena repeated.

Yuya took out his cards. "I know I use Odd-Eyes a lot but I have to be grateful to each and every card that I have. In fact, some of these cards I've used since I got them and have never taken them out. They're important friends."

"Your friends…" Serena looked at her cards. "Back home, everyone would go for the strongest and most powerful cards that they just throw away their old ones. But…I love my Moonlights. They've been with me from the very beginning."

"And those friends will have your back when you're confused or in a big pinch." Yuya said. "They'll give you the power to create a miracle."

Serena vs Daitokuji

"My friends…" Serena looked at Resurrection of the Dead.

"Hurry up, Serena! Bring me back from the Graveyard!" Moonlight Dancer Dragon roared.

"I activate the Magic Card: Resurrection of the Dead!" Serena played her card.

"Sorry, Serena…" Daitokuji prepared to press the button on his Duel Disk to activate his Trap as soon as Moonlight Dancer Dragon came back.

Light shined from Serena's Duel Disk. "The monster I'm bringing back is…Moonlight Cat Dancer!" Serena revealed.

"What?" Daitokuji gasped.

"What?! Serena, why?!" Dancer Dragon disappeared as Cat Dancer came back to the field.

"Cat Dancer…I'm sorry that I haven't used you right in the past. I hope you can forgive me." Serena apologized. Cat Dancer lowered her hand and stroked Serena's chin. "Nya." Serena made a cat sound.

"Next, I activate my Magic Card: Moonlight Fusion!" Serena used her set card. "I fuse Moonlight Cat Dancer with the Moonlight Crimson Fox and Moonlight White Rabbit!" The three Moonlight monsters entered the spacelike portal.

"The beautiful beast dancing in the moonlight! The cunning crimson fox! The lively white rabbit! Spiral into the moon's gravity and become a new power! Fusion Summon! Appear! Level 9! The beast with the sharpest blades that dances in the moonlight! Moonlight Sabre Dancer (ATK: 3000, LV: 9)!" Serena summoned a new dancer with two swords and red and gold armor.

"Alright, a new Fusion Monster!" Dennis smiled.

"That's my girl!" Johan praised.

"Beautiful…" Daitokuji was in awe and he retracted his finger.

"Moonlight Sabre Dancer's Attack Points increase by 200 for every Moonlight monster that is in the Graveyard or banished! I have 7 cards; therefore, Moonlight Sabre Dancer's Attack Points increase by 1400!"

Moonlight Sabre Dancer (ATK: 3000→4400)

"Battle! Moonlight Sabre Dancer, attack Helios Tris Megistus! Sabre Crescent Moon!" Sabre Crescent Moon did a swords dance and sliced through the trio of small suns, destroying them and making Daitokuji smile.

Daitokuji LP: 400→0

Winner: Serena Andersen

"Well done…Serena…" Daitokuji fell back.

"Sensei!" Serena ran to her teacher with Dennis and Johan behind her.

"You completed your final lesson. Alchemy changing everything into gold is nothing more than a surface phenomenon. Its true motive is to change the hearts of people into nobler, purer things. And you have succeeded, the proof was that you chose Cat Dancer, your first Fusion Monster and Duel Monsters card you loved, over Moonlight Dancer Dragon, who tried to influence you with power." Daitokuji said.

"But Sensei…I still don't think Moonlight Dancer Dragon has any desire to eradicate humanity." Serena said.

"Always trying to find the good within the bad…that's why you're my favorite student. But…I'm afraid that the others aren't like you. They've grown too powerful along with the other Nature Dragons. You might have to fight them yourself if the other Nature Dragons take control of your counterparts and confront you." Daitokuji said.

"Serena, I'm afraid that more disasters are coming to the Four Dimensions." Daitokuji turned to dust. "Other than the Professor and the Four Nature Dragons, I sense two more disturbances, one has to do with the dark power of the Millennium Items that the Professor pillaged from Standard. The other…is Genesis Omega Dragon…I've done all I could for you. The rest…is up…to you…" Daitokuji turned to dust.

"Daitokuji-sensei!" Serena cried. Serena shed tears as her teacher was truly gone.

"Meow…" Pharaoh brushed up against Serena's leg. Serena picked up the cat and hugged him. "Sensei…I won't let any of those threats come to be. I don't know about Genesis Omega Dragon or the Millennium Items, but I can do something about the Four Nature Dragons. I won't let them eradicate humanity."

Team 2

Team 2 arrived at the only pillar that actually looked like a pillar. "So, all we got to do is shut this down and we get to access the castle." Jack said.

"Yes." Asuka looked at her Duel Disk. "And based on these readings, we're the last ones left."

"We're almost there." Kaito said.

"Quit hiding! Come out here and face us!" Jack shouted.

"You sure are a loud one." Appearing from behind the pillar was a tall and thin old man with fair skin, sunken eyes and cheeks, bags under his eyes, small green pupils, and long white hair. He wore a long dark gray coat with an orange brown center that is patterned with yellow lines, gray pants and black shoes.

"You…" Asuka recognized that man. "You're the Doctor!"

"The Doctor?" Jack questioned.

"Academia's most brilliant scientist and the creator of the Parasite Fusioner." Doctor showed a familiar parasite.

"Isn't that…" Kaito recognized that parasite that was taken out of Momoe and Junko and was being studied by Byron.

"Yes…I've implanted these into most of the students at Academia so that they have to follow our every command." Doctor smiled.

"You sick bastard…" Asuka growled and her eyes changed to gold for a brief second.

"Of course, I'm not limited to only the students." Doctor pulled out a Millennium Item from his pocket. "This Millennium Tauk allowed me to get a glimpse into the future so I could prepare the perfect guards for this pillar."

The Doctor clapped his hands and two people walked out from behind him. The first one was man with light purple eyes, pale skin and blonde hair curled up in a point three. He wore a black trench coat with a high collar, fingerless white glove on his right hand, white pants with black boots. He also has a gray belt and a golden earring on his left ear.

The second one was a woman of average height with gray eyes and black hair that points down. She wore a blue and white striped shirt with an orange vest, blue knee length pants with a belt and orange sneakers.

"Look familiar, Kaito Tenjo, Jack Atlas?" The Doctor asked.

"Father!" Kaito recognized his father.

"Yes, I've taken the liberty of returning your father from his carded form. Now he is Academia's puppet." The Doctor giggled. "And Jack Atlas…we scanned this woman's memories so we know she's important to you."

"Carly…" Jack gritted his teeth. "That's right…When I first won the Friendship Cup and became the Duel King, I was overwhelmed by annoying reporters."

Synchro Dimension – 1 year ago

"Jack Atlas will not be taking anymore questions at this time!" A Tops person helped Jack into his penthouse. "Sorry, Mr. Atlas if there is anything—"

Jack slammed the door in the man's face and sighed. "Ridiculous reporters, they don't care about the real me."

Jack went into his kitchen. "And now to relax with some cup ramen." Jack went to his pantry. "Now where is my spicy Red Demon's Noodles…" A hand with the cup ramen reached down to him. "Ah, thanks." Jack closed the pantry and went to prepare his ramen when he did a double take.

He went back to the pantry where he saw Carly contorted to fit in an empty space in the pantry. "Hi." She then popped out of the pantry and fell onto the floor.

"Who are you?" Jack asked.

"I'm…Carly Carmine. Common's News." Carly showed her badge.

"You know Common's don't have a newspaper." Jack said.

"Well, I thought there should be one. The Commons should know the truth about the Tops and their corruption. And what better person to get the truth than the only Common to be a Top, the winner of the Friendship Cup, Jack Atlas." Carly said. "So, what can you tell me about Jean-Michel Roget, Director of Security."

"I can call Security and you can ask him yourself." Jack went to his phone.

"You can't scare me!" Carly shouted. "I'm determined to let the people know about the truth and I'm following your example! If you want to accomplish something, you can't falter!"

"That is something I would say." Jack was impressed. "Alright…I'll make you a deal…I'll give special access to the Tops and answer your questions but you have to do something for me."

"Anything." Carly was determined.

Jack showed his Cup Ramen. "This Cup Ramen is only available in the Commons. And since the Tops don't want me to go back as it will ruin my image, you need to bring me at least a box every time you come."

"Deal." Carly agreed.

Fusion Dimension – Last Pillar

"You would come back and forth with my favorite ramen and I would answer your questions. At first it was a little annoying, but I couldn't ignore how passionate you were in getting the truth. You made living in the Tops a little better." Jack pulled out a pair of broken glasses.

"But then Zero Reverse happened."

Synchro Dimension – Aftermath of Zero Reverse

Jack rode around the destroyed area of the Commons. "Anyone out there! If you can hear me answer me!" Jack called out looking for survivors.

He kept walking until he noticed a light reflecting off something at a pile of rubble. He went over to it and he saw Carly's broken glasses. "These are…"

Jack picked up the glasses. "Carly! Carly!" Jack called out. "Carly, are you there?!" Jack started going through the rubble but he still couldn't find her. After removing the last rubble piece, he saw an envelope with his name on it. Jack opened it up and inside was a letter.

"Jack, if you're reading this, then it means that Zero Reverse has happened and I'm most likely gone. I just wanted to let you know that this past year was the best year of my life. Not only was I able to get good stories, but I got to spend time with my favorite person, you Jack. You're a real inspiration to the children down here in the Commons. I hope you continue to be the king that you are and that you find a Duelist that can push you beyond your limits. I may be gone, but I'm always cheering for you. With love, Carly."

"Carly…" Jack tightened his grip on his glasses.

Fusion Dimension – Last Pillar

"I will never forgive you, Doctor!" Jack roared in anger.

"You will repent for your sins!" Kaito also shouted in anger.

"Heh, those are nice expression. But you'll have to make do with my puppets." Doctor snapped his fingers and both Faker and Carly launched Duel Anchors at Kaito and Jack.

"Dad! Stop!" Kaito grunted.

"Carly, I know you're in there! Fight it!" Jack shouted.

"Adieu." The Doctor started to run away.

"You're not getting away!" Asuka ran after the Doctor. "I'll take care of the Doctor, just tough it out guys!"

Both Carly and Faker activated their Duel Disks. "I guess we have no choice but to fight." Kaito grumbled.

"Let's use our Dueling to get them to remember who they are. Let's go, Kaito!" Jack activated his Duel Disk.

"Right!" Kaito activated his Duel Disk.

"Duel!" Jack, Kaito, Carly and Faker declared.

"I'm going first! My turn! Draw!" Jack drew his card. "I summon the Tuner Monster, Red Resonator (ATK: 600, LV: 2)!" Jack summoned his Resonator. "When a Red monster is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon this card from my hand with its Attack Points cut in half! Come! Red Wolf (ATK: 700, LV: 6)!" Jack summoned his fiery wolf.

"I'm Tuning my Level 6 Red Wolf with my Level 2 Red Resonator!" Red Resonator used its tools to turned into two green rings and Red Wolf flew through them and became six stars.

"The heaven and earth shall tremble before the king's might. Let the power of the one and only supreme ruler be carved into your soul! Synchro Summon! The savage soul, Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight (ATK: 3000, LV: 8)!" Jack summoned his ace monster. "I set one card and end my turn!"

"My turn! Draw!" Carly drew her card. "I summon Fortunate-Telling Witch Swi-chan (ATK: 0, LV: 4)!" Carly summoned a blue small witch. "Then, I activate the Quick-Play Magic: Unacceptable Results! When I summon a Fortune-Telling Witch, this card can summon another Witch in my hand! Appear! Fortune-Telling Witch Chi-Chan (ATK: 0, LV: 6)!" Carly summoned a brown small witch.

"Next, I activate the Magic Card: Good-Luck Loan! This card can Special Summon a Fortune-Telling Witch one Level lower than a Fortune-Telling Witch's Level that is on the field from my hand! Appear! Fortunate-Telling Witch Fu-Chan (ATK: 0, LV: 3)!" Carly summoned a green small witch.

"Finally, the Continuous Magic: Better Fortune – Miracle Stone! This card increases the Attack Points of all Fortune-Telling Witches by 1000 points for each Fortune-Telling Witch on the field!"

Swi-Chan/Chen-Chan/Fu-Chan (ATK: 0→3000)

"But they are not allowed to attack during the turn they're summoned. I end my turn." Carly finished her turn.

"My turn! Draw!" Kaito drew his card. "I summon Cipher Wing (ATK: 1400, LV: 4)!" Kaito summoned his machine. "When I control a Cipher Wing, I can Special Summon another Cipher Wing (ATK: 1400, LV: 4) from my hand!" Kaito summoned another copy.

"Then, from my hand, I activate the Continuous Magic: Double Exposure! This card doubles the Levels of my two Cipher Wings!"

Cipher Wing (LV: 4→8)

"I Overlay my two Cipher Wings!" The Cipher Wings turned into yellow lights and entered the spacelike portal in front of Kaito.

"Galaxy shining in the darkness, dwell in the demonic god of revenge and become my very servant! Xyz Summon! Descend! Rank 8! Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon (ATK: 3000, RNK: 8, OVU: 2)!" Kaito summoned his ace.

"Jack, I might have to get rough with your friend." Kaito said.

"We have to do whatever it takes to get them back to their senses." Jack said. "Don't falter, Kaito! Go full power!" Kaito nodded.

"I activate Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's effect! By using one Overlay Unit, I can take control of one monster on the opponent's field until the End Phase! The monster I control becomes Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon and its Attack is the same as it! Cipher Projection!" Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon used its wings to take control of Fortune Fairy Chen-Chan.

"With one less Fortune-Telling Witch on my field, Miracle Stone's effect reduces my monsters' Attack Points." Carly said.

"Battle! I use the Fortune-Telling Witch Chen treated as Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon to attack Fortune-Telling Witch Fu!" Kaito had the monster attack.

"Fortune-Telling Witch Chen-Chan's fortune for you." Carly spoke. "Your luck is absolutely awful!"

"From my hand, I activate Garbage Gardna's monster effect!" Faker showed a card in his hand. "When an opponent's Special Summoned monster battles, I can Special Summon this monster from my hand and force the monster to battle it! Come! Garbage Gardna (DEF: 3000, LV: 9)!" A large fiend made of garbage with a big shield appeared and took the attack.

"Shit!" Kaito panicked.

"That's right, Kaito. Garbage Gardna's other effect activates! When it is attacked and it's not destroyed in battle, the Battle Phase ends and it negates the effects of two monsters on the field! I negate your Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's and Jack's Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight's Monster Effects!" Garbage Gardna unleashed a ring of garbage that trapped both dragons.

"With its Monster Effect negated, the monster that Cipher Dragon took control of returns to its owner." Faker said and Chen-Chan went back to Carly's field.

Chen-Chan/Swi-Chan/Fu-Chan (ATK: 2000→3000)

"You disappoint me, Kaito." Faker scolded. "Attacking without even thinking about the other players on the field and how they could stop you."

"I set one card and end my turn." Kaito finished his turn. "Sorry, Jack. Now you can't use Scarlight's Monster Effect."

"We'll win no matter what situation we're in." Jack said. "We won't lose to whatever is controlling them."

"That overconfidence will be your downfall." Carly smirked at Jack.

"My turn! Draw!" Faker drew his card. "I activate the Magic Card: Garbage to Recycle! This card allows my opponent to draw two cards in exchange for letting me Special Summon monsters from my hand that have the same name as a Garbage monster on my field!" Faker pointed to Carly. "You may draw two cards, Carly."

"Thank you." Carly drew her two cards.

"And from my deck, I Special Summon two more Garbage Gardnas (DEF: 3000, LV: 9)!" Faker summoned two Garbage Gardnas. "I Overlay my 3 Level 9 Garbage Gardnas!" The three monsters turned into purple lights and entered the spacelike portal in front of Faker.

"Cast aside your shell of lies and appear forth as the God of Dragons! Xyz Summon! Appear! Number 92: Fake-Body God Dragon, Heart-eartH Dragon (ATK: 0, RNK: 9, OVU: 3)!" Faker summoned a Number.

"A Number!" Kaito's eyes widened.

"Heart-eartH Dragon's effect! When this monster is Special Summoned, all monsters on my opponent's field switch to Defense Position! Bow down before the mighty dragon worms!" Heart-eartH Dragon forced both Galaxy-Eyes and Red-Demon's to bow.

"An eye for an eye as they say. Battle! Heart-eartH Dragon, attack Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight!" Faker ordered his dragon.

"He's attacking with a 0 Attack Point monster?" Jack questioned.

"Heart-eartH Dragon cannot be destroyed in battle and any battle damage that I would take is inflicted on my opponent instead!" Faker revealed. "Go! Heart Break Cannon!" Heart-eartH Dragon unleashed its attack on Red-Demon's.

"I activate my Trap Card: Red Booster! By discarding a Red monster from my hand to the Graveyard, I can negate one monster's attack! I negate Heart-eartH Dragon's attack!" The attack stopped before it struck Scarlight.

"So predictable. Of course, you would do anything to protect that dragon." Carly sighed.

"I set one card and end my turn!" Faker finished his turn. "You should know that you cannot change your monster's battle position due to Heart-eartH Dragon's effect."

"My turn! Draw!" Jack drew his card. "I'll just have to tough it out."

"I summon the Tuner Monster, Clock Resonator (DEF: 600, LV: 3)!" Jack summoned a monster with a giant clock on its back. "Then, I set one card and end my turn!" Jack finished his turn.

"My turn! Draw!" Carly drew her card. "I activate the Magic Card: One for One! I send one monster from my hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon a Level 1 monster from my hand or deck! Appear! Parasite Fusioner (ATK: 0, LV: 1)!" Carly summoned the horrible parasite.

"That monster…" Jack growled.

"You should know what this monster does. When it is Special Summoned, I can perform a Fusion Summon using this card and other monsters on my field! I fuse Parasite Fusioner with my other three Fortune-Telling Witches!" The four monsters entered the spiraling vortex.

"Fortune telling experts of earth, wind and water! Become one with the inner voice and call forth a monster that foretells death! Fusion Summon! Appear! Level 9! Fortune-Telling Devil – Astaroth (ATK: 3200, LV: 9)!" Appearing was a tall and mature woman but she had black wings sprouting from her back.

"After being used as Fusion Material, Parasite Fusioner becomes an Equip Card." The parasite attached itself to Astaroth.

"Battle! Astaroth, attack Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight!" Astaroth charged towards Scarlight.

"I activate my Trap Card: Reject Reborn!" Jack played his set card.

"Useless! Astaroth's Monster Effect! When my opponent activates a Magic or Trap Card during the Battle Phase, the card's activation is negated and destroyed!" Jack's card was destroyed and Red Demon's Dragon Scarlight was destroyed. "Furthermore, she deals piercing damage!" Jack grunted as he felt pain from the attack.

Jack LP: 4000→3300

"I'm not done yet! Astaroth is allowed to attack as many monsters as Fortune-Telling Witches that were used to summon her. "Attack Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!" Astaroth flew in and struck down Galaxy-Eyes, making Kaito feel pain.

"I set one card and end my turn!" Carly finished her turn.

"Why didn't you attack Clock Resonator?" Jack grunted.

"I want you to die a slow and painful death." Carly said. "This is your punishment for using me for your own gain."

"Kaito…are you prepared to repent for your failure to save your family?" Faker looked at Kaito and said his phrase.

Jack and Kaito could see nothing but hostility and hate from the eyes of Carly and Faker. They were dead serious.

Academia – Hallway

"Go! Eatos!" Rafael shouted.

"Starve Venom!" Yuya shouted and both of their monsters destroyed Antique Gear Chaos Giant and Antique Gear Ultimate Golem taking out more Obelisk Force.

Suddenly, the room started to shift. "Yuya!" Rafael called out as a wall separated him from Yuya.

"Damn…" Yuya felt exhausted and he fell to his knee.

Unknown to him an Obelisk Force Soldier approached him and was about to turn Yuya into a card.

"Black Burning!" Black Magician Girl appeared and knocked out the Obelisk Force Soldier away.

Yuya turned and he saw Black Magician Girl returning to another Obelisk Force Soldier. "You attacked your own comrade…" Yuya said.

"I'm…want to set things right…" The soldier removed his helmet to reveal himself as Atem.

Yuya looked Atem in the eye and he could tell that Atem regretted being a part of Academia. "Well. Nice save. Uh…"

"Atem." Atem introduced himself. "It's an honor to meet you, Dragon Soldier Yuya."

Yuya looked at Black Magician Girl. "You have the rare Black Magician Girl card, she's very popular." Black Magician Girl gave Yuya a flirty wink, making blush.

"She's an important friend, along with him." Atem showed Black Magician. "Amazing…those cards are hard to get. And judging from their condition, you care a lot about them."

"These cards belonged to my father and he passed them down to me when I enrolled here." Atem said.

"Your dad?" Yuya asked.

"Pharoah Akhenamkhanen of Egypt." Atem said.

"Whoa, so you're a prince!" Yuya's eyes widened. "I-I mean…" Yuya bowed to Atem. "Your Majesty."

"Y-You don't have to do that." Atem got flustered. "It's not that great. It just means I have a lot to live up to."

"Oh, I know the feeling…" Yuya said as he thought of Zarc. "Famous dads…"

"…area a pain but you still love them." Yuya and Atem said at the same time. The two looked at each other before bursting out in laughter. Black Magician Girl giggled at the two of them.

"Hey, there they are!"

"Let's get them!"

More Obelisk Force Soldiers came running towards them.

"Ready?" Yuya activated his Duel Disk.

"Always." Atem activated his Duel Disk.
