Luz awoke with a groan, tied back to back with Boscha, in the back of a cart, with all her stuff out of reach in the corner.
"Good. You're finally awake." Boscha said, voice dripping with annoyance, "Congrats, human. You really seem to be a constant source of bad luck."
"You know, despite your attitude, it's really good to see another familiar face." Luz said.
"Don't give me that overly happy attitude. In case you haven't noticed, this is basically the apocalypse. So what, may I ask, were you doing in trapper territory?"
"What were you?" Luz countered.
"When I saw another person walking around, I thought I should trail them to see if they were trustworthy. If I could see your face, I would have known that was a definite no, but here we are. Now, back to my question. What were you doing?"
"I was trying to do some resource scavenging while Eda goes looking for people. Hey, since I found you, I might as well ask if you and anyone you're teamed up with would like to come to the hideout. It's safe, you'll have a bed, food, and medical access. Plus, you can see how many other Hexolios have been found and meet up with them again."
"First off, never call the Hexside Banshees that name again, second, I don't care how any of them are doing, and third, everyone knows that the whole hideout thing is a trick. The Owl Lady just lures innocent survivors in with the promise of a safe place then lets them be taken by the Collector in exchange for them leaving her and her posse alone. Not surprised you didn't know, being a part of that safe group and all."
"What? It's a real place! There are so many people there, all of which Eda or someone else saved and brought in. Thanks to a special symbol, we're invisible to the Collector."
"Like anyone would believe that." Boscha scoffed.
"Why are you being so flippant? You seem like a great fighter, but why not take the chance at being safe? What possible reason could you have to not believe me and not take my offer at saving you?"
"Because believing in a safe place is what got my mom captured!"
Luz was shocked. She knew one of her moms was captured by the Collector, and presumably had been for awhile, but she had no idea why or how.
"When my mom heard about a safe place, she left me and mother to see if it was real, promising she'd be back the second she knew it was." Boscha explained, much quieter than before, "It was two months into all this so I didn't want her to get hurt, and I followed her. She went searching for the Owl Lady. She knew the supposed safe space was off the island and went to the coast. Instead of finding Eda or someone or any sign of escape, all she got was to be taken away by the Collector in front of me."
Luz didn't respond right away, not exactly knowing what to say after all of that. After around a minute, she did think of something.
"Lynn, right?"
"What?"
"You mom's name. It's Lynn. And your mother is named Jen." Luz paused to see if Boscha would say anything, then continued when she didn't, "The night I arrived here, a few days ago actually, Hunter and I snuck out and found the Collector's hiding place. We were out looking for King. While we were there, we found a room full of everyone who had been captured. Your mom was there. She told us where to go. She also told me to tell you and your mother that she's okay and she loves you."
There was a bit of silence that hung between them, enough to make Luz think Boscha still didn't believe her. However, Luz did eventually hear the faint sound of Boscha crying near silently. Before she could say anything more, the cart came to a stop in front of the Bonesborough scout outpost. Tarak got out of the cart, grabbed Luz and Boscha, and carried them up a makeshift staircase up to the flat roof of the building. There are a few gardening boxes along the sides, but the main feature was the shrine with an altar by the front edge of the roof.
"Tonight, when the moon rises, its light will slowly cast down upon the shrines. When the light reaches this one, the Grand Huntsman will know of your presence and you will be taken by him." Tarak explained proudly.
"It's like, early in the afternoon. It'll be hours before the moon rises. Are you just going to leave us here all day, just tied up?" Luz asked.
"I would wait for days to give the Grand Huntsman a gift, and one such as this will surely grant me favor from him. A witch who had been managing to hide for so long, and the lost human that tried to take away the last titan instead of letting him complete the ritual that would return them to us. We're lucky they managed a way out on their own."
"They didn't though. King released him of his own volition to save me and my friends from Belos and stop the Draining Spell."
"Wait, that little demon that was always with you was a baby Titan?!" Boscha gasped.
"Oh, yeah. Bet you feel great about squealing over him even when he asked you to stop, don't you?" Luz teased.
"Oh shut it, human."
"Enough!" Tarak commanded, "You are being offered to the great and powerful Grand Huntsman! This is no time for your puny revelations and squabbles. Look, it's been awhile before I've been able to offer anything. Most witches are dead, already with the Huntsman, or taken away by the Owl Lady."
Luz nudged Boscha with a smirk because now there was another person who believed in Eda saving people. Boscha just groaned and muttered something to herself Luz couldn't make out.
"Now if you'll excuse me," Tarak continued, "I'll be back in a bit. I need to go check on my brother in faith that you so happily knocked out with your potion."
Boscha chuckled, getting a glare from Tarak. He began to walk away, before stopping and walking back. He lifted up Boscha and Luz, sat them on the offering table, and locked chains around their ankles. After a few test tugs to make sure the chains were secure, he gave a pleased nod and actually left. Boscha and Luz watched as he went back down, moved their stuff to the side of the building, got in the cart, and left.
Once he was out of sight, Boscha began to squirm. Luz was a bit confused, and only got more confused when Boscha lay her head on Luz's shoulder and turned away, practically shoving her bun in her face.
"I need you to bite through my hair tie." She said.
"Wait, what?"
"This isn't the first time I've been captured. Now, bite through the hair tie. Anyone with teeth sharp enough to tear meat can break it. And don't worry, the material is perfectly safe for consumption. Tearing it won't poison you or something. Now, stop being confused and break the hair tie so I can get us out of here already.
Luz was still confused, but did as she was told. She carefully dug through Boscha's hair with her face and found the hair tie. The texture definitely felt organic, so Luz wasn't worried when she carefully bit into it, feeling sorry as she started to pull at it and heard Boscha wince from some hair getting caught in her bite as well. Once she had a good grip, she bit through it and went ahead and swallowed the tie, not really seeing a sense in wasting it since it probably couldn't be used again, and Boscha did say it was safe to eat, so it'd be fine.
Boscha's hair fell and, out from where her hair had been tied up, a small vial fell out into Luz's lap. She tried to move it onto the ground to where Boscha could grab it, but overestimated where to tip her legs to and it rolled off the platform and onto the ground.
"Great job, human." Boscha sighed, "Can you, like, use one of your paper things and get that back? Oh, and give me the tie. I need it for the fuse."
Luz sucked in a breath, realizing her mistake. She could feel Boscha tense up against her, recognizing the noise as a realization of error.
"Human. What. Did you. Do."
"So two things. One, don't have any glyphs. Two, I might have…eaten the hair tie."
"You…ate it? You ate my fucking hair tie!? Human, what in Titan's name possessed you to make you think that was a great idea?"
"You told me it was safe to eat! I assumed that meant you didn't need it!"
"I meant that if some broke off in your mouth when you tore it you wouldn't die! I know you humans are fragile and can't handle all the food here!"
"Well maybe you should have told me your full plan!"
"Sorry I didn't tell you, oh great and powerful human, who can't even do magic without paper. Speaking of, why don't you have your magic paper with you?! Isn't that, like, your whole deal? Well congrats on the stellar choice to not bring any protection. Now, we either need to hope mother is going to go out looking for me and find us, or wait for the Collector to take us. Whoop dee fucking do!"
"Eda is in her harpy form right now. If we scream, she should hear us."
"Do you hear yourself? That cultist lunatic will be back before the Owl Lady even hears your pathetic screeching."
Boscha let out an exasperated sigh and relaxed against Luz, making it impossible for Luz herself to do the same.
Eda said you could use magic. Even if you're in front of people. It seems like this situation would call for it. The voice in her head said.
Seeing the logic in that, Luz sighed and shifted slightly to face Boscha as much as she could.
"Okay, I can get the vial and a new fuse. I just need you to not tell anyone, okay?" She said.
"Fine human, I don't care. Do whatever thing you think will be helpful right now."
Luz shifted back and looked at the planter box across from her at the edge of the roof. She focused on what looked like the Boiling Isles equivalent of a tomato plant and drew a spell circle behind her back, thankful the restraints only kept her arms behind her and didn't stop her hands from being able to move. A thin vine from the plant grew out and slowly worked its way towards them, slithering along the ground. It came over to the altar, wrapped around the neck of the small vial and lifted it up. A smaller tendril extended over to Luz and she bit through it, making a short fuse. She carefully moved it and the vial next to Boscha. Once she finished, she let the vine fall to the ground and waited. Waited for Boscha to say something, anything. But, nothing. Instead, it just seemed like Boscha was processing what just happened.
"Your plant magic skills are improving." Belos whispered in her ear, finally saying something after being silent since they went to the garage at the house.
Luz quietly shushed him so Boscha wouldn't hear anything and went back to awaiting Boscha's response. Finally, Boscha just sighed.
"I'm not even gonna ask. Now, move your shoulder to shoulder joint and push until you hear a pop, okay?"
"Wait, you don't have like, shoulder blades?"
"Human! Not the time to get hung up on differences in anatomy or physiology or whatever. Just pop my damn shoulder out of its damn socket so we can get out of here."
"Language." Luz said teasingly, getting a frustrated growl from the triclops tied to her.
Luz repositioned herself, planted her shoulder into Boscha's arm joint and, as instructed, pushed as hard as she could. She heard a pop and a muffled scream from Boscha coming out from her as she was currently clenching her teeth as hard as she could to not be too loud. In her peripheral vision, Luz could make out the look of Boscha's partially dislocated arm moving down to grab the vial and fuse. She uncorked the vial, slid the fuse inside, and moved the vial behind her back. Luz got nervous and tensed when she heard Boscha make a spell circle and felt the faint feeling of fire on her back.
"Relax, human. That cloak of yours is witches wool. You'll be fine."
Boscha lit the fuse and, after a few seconds, the vial burst and a strangle liquid exploded from it. It immediately began to burn through the ropes, and Boscha's cloak. She hissed through her teeth as she felt the corrosive potion burn through the rope and her clothes and skin. The second the rope was weak enough, Boscha pulled back, tearing it and freeing her and Luz's arms. She took a piece of rope and dabbed the liquid on the ankle shackles. Luz copied her and, once the liquid had worked its way through, the two broke the shackles off, thankfully before it could burn through their shoes. Luz turned around and wiped Boscha's back with a safe part of her cloak to get the corrosive liquid off her skin, then rubbed that onto the altar, where it burned through it slightly before finally fading away. Boscha hissed as she popped her shoulder back into its socket, moved her arm some to get the feeling back in it fully, then looked at Luz, thankful for her getting the potion off her but not wanting to show too much gratitude. Luz simply smiled at her. Boscha rolled her eyes and walked back to the staircase. Luz followed her and they went back down.
They both grabbed their stuff, Luz throwing her backpack back over her shoulders and Boscha resecuring her potion belt. Luz noticed she was still wincing in pain from her shoulder and back, grabbed two healing patches from her bag, and offered them over. Boscha looked between the patches and Luz a few times before just grabbing one and sticking it to her back.
"My arm is fine. I don't need a human's charity." Boscha grumbled.
Luz was slightly disappointed, but then looked at the belt of various potions, some of which she recognized as being explosive and got an idea.
"What do you say we blow up that stupid shrine?" Luz asked, a devious grin on her face.
"That sounds fun, but we should really get out of here before that stupid cultist comes back. We don't have time to go up and plant explosives."
Luz smirked, drew a spell circle, made an ice spike, broke off the top, and held it like a baseball bat.
"Who said we were going to go back and plant them?"
Boscha was amazed with Luz doing magic, then chuckled and smiled at her.
"I guess everyone changed over the past 7 months. Yeah, I think we have time for that."
They both backed up and Boscha grabbed two explosive potions from her belt. She tossed them over and Luz hit them with the ice bat up onto the roof. They shattered against the altar and exploded, blowing it and some of the roof up. Boscha whistled and chuckled at the sight.
"Home run." Luz whispered under her breath.
"Okay, now we should really go. That explosion was pretty loud."
The two turned to go, Boscha in front of Luz, but before she started walking she froze.
"Luz, the branding glove. This is our chance." Belos urgently said.
Luz thought about it, realized he was right, and sighed.
"Hey Boscha! Can you keep an eye out for a sec? I need to grab something from inside."
Boscha considered it for a moment before nodding.
"Be quick. I'll yell for you if I see that dude coming back."
Luz nodded and ran inside the outpost. She frantically searched around the area before she finally spotted a branding glove. Sitting out on a table. Inside an interrogation room. Locked behind a massive door and thick glass. Luz drew a spell circle and tried to ram it open with a pillar of ice. Nothing. She tried again with some big vines. Not even a scratch. For a moment she thought about fire, but brushed that thought away. She wasn't ready for that yet. She tried again and again with ice and vines, but nothing.
"Human! He's coming back! Let's get a move on!" Boscha yelled from outside the door.
"Just a sec!" Luz yelled back.
Again and again she tried hitting the door, the walls, the glass, but nothing worked. She even tried kicking it down but, obviously, that did nothing.
"Human! Let's go!"
"Wait a little bit longer! I got this!"
Luz began to get tired, but she had to get through. If she could get the glove, Belos could help her modify it, she could take the sigils off everyone, and she could finally be helpful.
"Hum-agh!"
Luz turned back and looked out through the glass doors. Tarak was back. And he was furious. He and Boscha traded hits as Luz just stood there.
"Belos, we can come back another time. We need to go." She said frantically.
"No. I have something that will work. But you need to trust me."
Luz listened to the sounds of fighting coming from outside as she stared at the branding glove, so close, yet so far. She had to get it.
"Fine. What is it?"
"Punch the door. As hard as you can."
"What? That's pure metal! My hand will shatter!"
"Little light, I said trust me."
She didn't even correct him. Luz simply walked up to the door, moved her arm back, and swung her fist as it as hard as she could. As if the world slowed down, Luz watched in awe as her sleeve slid back from the force of the swing and her arm slowly turned green, starting from her fist and moving up. It became a rotten green like Belos' arm had when he had grabbed Luz all those months ago. As her fist hit the door, it crumpled around it like tin foil. The door swung open, popping off the top hinge, and a massive dent was now in the center. Her arm, which was inexplicably longer, hung limp by her side. The green receded again, though there were marks of scarring along her forearm.
"I'll handle it Luz. Grab the glove and go help." Belos hurriedly assured.
Luz ran in, grabbed the glove, shoved it in her bag, and ran out to help Boscha. When she got out, she saw Tarak and Boscha, both looking tired, still fighting. Tarak grabbed a fistful of dirt and threw it into her eyes, blinding her. Boscha stumbled back and Tarak approached her slowly, drawing a spell circle.
"You know, I know your little friend is inside right now. And I don't think the Grand Huntsman will care if he only gets one offering instead of two, considering their opinion on Luz."
As he lifted his hand to attack Boscha, who looked terrified as she was blind but aware of her fate, Luz began to panic. Then, somehow, she felt a wave of relaxation wash over her and was filled with a sense of confidence.
"Hey big guy! You sure the little friend is still inside?"
Tarak dropped whatever spell he was going to do and turned to Luz.
"How about you take the honorable approach and fight someone who can actually defend themself? I know you have a problem with that considering you tried to kill my little brother while he thought you were going to play catch with him, but it's never too late to start."
"Heh. You still believe that Titan isn't dangerous?" Tarak scoffed.
"I don't know, you still believe he is? I am the one who lived with him for a year and became his big sister. You just played with him for a day, got close, called him family, got a call from a crazy old guy, then tried to kill him. Man you guys are messed up. Why do you follow Bill again? You almost seemed to realize how almost, I don't know, insane he was for a moment. But then again, cultists gotta cultist. And for you that means offering up innocent witches and demons to a godlike being with the mind of a child that wants to kidnap an island's worth of people to play a game. Why do you follow him again?"
"You won't sway me with your blasphemous words, human!"
"Look bub, I'm just a servant of the Titan. Not the guy who killed him. Now, how about you tell me where the Collector is and go."
"Hah! I won't divulge that information so easily, human."
"Mother of Titan, why is everyone so obsessed with just calling me by my species? Besides, I think you'll find I'm a lot more than just some human."
"Uh huh. We'll see about that."
Tarak ran at Luz, drawing a spell circle as he did. He tried sending a magical blast at her, but she easily dodged him. Luz chuckled slightly at her strangely improved reflexes but just chalked it up to adrenaline. Tarak got frustrated at Luz not getting hit, and still not even fighting back. He did manage to send a blast straight at her, but Luz quickly made a wall of ice in front of her and blocked it. As she let the wall fall back down, she chuckled at Tarak's shocked and horrified expression. He started to back up, though his back was to the wall of the outpost, so there wasn't really anywhere he could go. Still, he walked back. Luz tilted her head to the side, chuckled, and subtly made a small patch of ice under her foot.
"Are you really backing out so easily? What about your offering to the Grand Huntsman? What about your favor?" Luz teased.
As Boscha lay on the ground a few yards away, her vision still coming back and the dirt slowly got out of her eyes, she became confused with how out of character Luz was acting.
Tarak looked both ways, seeing no clear exit. Having no other option, he charged at Luz. She smiled as he just did exactly what she wanted. She slid her foot forward on the patch of ice and sent out a barrage of ice spikes. The spikes pinned his robes to the wall, though one spike went through his arm, making him scream in pain, though Luz was unbothered by this. She walked along the side of the spikes, grabbing her ice bat as she did. She let the end drag along the ground as she slowly approached Tarak, horror filling his eyes and confusion filling the eyes of Boscha who, while she couldn't see clearly, could see what the person she bullied was being completely different from how she was not 10 minutes ago.
"You know, when I saved King, I had to leave behind so many people. Hundreds at least. I left behind parents, siblings, children, friends…so many people that I could have saved. But, at the same time, I couldn't, lest your god decide to stop being nice and kill me and the person I was with, who I frankly consider a big brother. So, for the survival of me, my little brother, and my big brother, I left hundreds of people, some strangers, some not, in the hands of a godlike child, the same one you worship so reverently."
Luz got next to Tarak and planted her free hand on the wall next to his head, her gaze feeling to him like it was staring into his very soul.
"I left the fortress and all those innocent people who have seen their neighbors die in front of them behind. I'm not a betting girl, but I would put so many snails on most of those people being in that position thanks to your little group of fanatics. So, tell me, where is the Collector's hideout?"
Tarak laughed, then winced from the spike in his arm. Luz twisted her hand and made the spikes press further, starting to poke at his skin in other places and growing in his arm.
"I'm not telling you anything." Tarak groaned.
"I was worried you'd say that." Luz sighed.
She flipped the bat in her hand then brought the sharp end up to his face and planted it in the middle of the forehead of the skull mask. She pressed slightly down, not enough to start cracking the mask, but enough to show him she could.
"Tell me where the hideout is and you get to live. Don't, and this spike is not just going to go through your little skull hat, but your actual skull too."
Tarak panicked as he looked from side to side, trying to find and escape but, given his position, that wasn't really an option. Luz pressed harder down, making the spike of ice begin to actually start to break through the skull mask and it cracked slightly.
"Where is it?" Luz asked again, beginning to get more and more mad with his refusal to answer.
She could swear she felt her arm begin to actually bubble, but that was probably all in her head.
"Look, I don't know, okay?" Tarak finally admitted, fear making his voice tremble.
"Yeah right." Luz scoffed, pressing it harder.
The skull hat cracked more under the pressure of the ice spike.
"I don't! I really don't! I'm just a humble follower of the Grand Huntsman! I give him offerings and he takes them! I don't know where they go!"
"Swear to me!" Luz growled.
The skull hat finally broke in two and fell to the ground. Because she was putting so much force on the spike, when the skull broke away, the ice spike slammed into Tarak's forehead, also where the symbol of the Titan trappers happened to be painted, and instantly broke through his skin and was right up against his skull. A small trickle of blood began to come out, making it look like the moon on his forehead was bleeding. His eyes, now much clearer with the mask being gone, were filled with terror and fear as he came to the realization that she was actually ready to kill him.
"I swear! I swear! I swear on the Titan! I don't know where the Grand Huntsman is hiding! Please, spare me!" Tarak begged, tears beginning to fall.
"Oh now you swear on the Titan? Yeah right."
Luz was about to push all the way when someone grabbed her arm.
"Luz!" Boscha called out, fear in her voice as she finally used her name.
Luz whipped her head around and faced Boscha, who was shocked to see her eyes faintly glowing blue.
"What?" Luz asked, her voice sounding almost distorted.
"Stop, please."
The sound of Boscha's desperation made Luz pause. She blinked and the blue glow faded away, as did the sensation of bubbling in her arm. She slowly came back to the moment and realized what she was doing. She quickly stepped back and made the spikes of ice recede. Tarak dropped to the ground and relief flooded his body. He weakly got up, clutching his arm, and came closer to Luz, who turned back to him. She was filled with horror as he kneeled in front of her.
"Luz the human witch, you have shown such unbelievable power, nerve, and mercy. I thank you. Please, accept my forgiveness. Clearly, you are favored by the Titan you and your witch kin worship so reverently. I pledge my service to you, great servant of the Titan. Next time we meet, I will inform you with all I learn. I will see if I can get my brothers and sisters to see the light and join you in following the will of the Titan. You have my word. Now, I will leave you to be with your friend, oh merciful human witch."
Tarak slowly got up and, as he said, left quickly, still clutching his bleeding arm. Once he was out of sight, Luz dropped the ice spike, its tip now stained with blood, to the ground and fell to her knees. She softly began to cry as everything that had happened finally set in.
"He kneeled to me. I nearly killed him and he kneeled to me. He talked to me like people talked to Belos." Luz whispered.
"Is that so bad?" Belos asked.
"Yes, it is. People were, are, terrified of you and yet they still bowed. Even when you were a tyrant. That isn't a good thing."
"Luz, who are you talking to?" Boscha asked, sounding soft and genuine for the first time Luz had ever heard.
"I'm a horrible person. I-I have no idea what came over me. Why I did that."
"Hey, you just got lost in the moment. You care about people a lot. I guess you finally, I don't know, cracked and said and did everything you've been harboring the desire for. Was it scary? Yeah. Was it wrong? Sure. But does that make you a horrible person? No. I snapped you out of it and you stopped. And you feel guilt."
"I'm no better than how Belos was."
"You are nothing like Belos. For one, you're not dead. Two, you aren't a monster. And three, you feel bad. None of those things can be said about that overzealous lying dickhead."
"Maybe you're right about how people view me." Belos said.
"Luz, you were pissed, and rightly so. Now can you get over yourself? We're going to see my mother then you and Eda are taking us to that hideout." Boscha said, reaching out a hand.
"You suck at comforting." Luz chuckled, taking her hand.
"You don't become head of the grudgeby team and feared queen bee of the school by codling."
Boscha helped Luz up and they began walking away from the outpost, Boscha a few feet ahead of Luz.
"Did you find what you were looking for?" Boscha casually asked.
"Yeah, I did."
Much to Luz's delight, she didn't ask what it was and just went back to walking.
Luz felt a slight pain in the arm that had punched through the door and also felt like it had been boiling. When she lifted her sleeve, the edge of the scar on her arm looked like it was leaking the green goo. She wiped it away, but was slightly nervous about it. Belos was easily able to tell she was feeling uneasy about it.
"Do not worry, Luz. It is simply some residue." He assured.
He moved down from his perch on her ear and covered the scar with the same film that he used on her hand and the scar faded away, as well as stopping leaking. Luz breathed a sigh of relief and Belos moved back to her ear.
"I hope you'll find the ability to extend and strengthen your limbs to be useful."
"Yeah. It was actually pretty cool." Luz admitted with a slight chuckle.
"I'm glad my curse can be 'pretty cool' to you."
After a pause, Luz sighed again.
"Belos, what happened back there? Why did I go so…cold? My arm felt like it was boiling and I nearly killed a guy."
"No need to worry, Luz. It is just an unfortunate side effect of me allowing you to use the power of my curse. I believe as you become more competent with your magic, it will help keep the side effects to a minimum. I personally consumed palismen, but with you having a bile sack, it shouldn't come to that."
"Will I need to start drinking elixirs like Eda does?"
"That would require you telling someone about your current situation, and also no. I did try more humane options like elixirs before resorting to what I did. It seemed potion makers didn't take kindly to humans, and the circumstance was highly frowned upon. Even now, I doubt a potion maker could help with such a curse."
"How is your curse even affecting me?" Luz asked curiously, "You aren't inside me or anything."
"I believe it started when I healed your scar. Natural magic and my curse don't interact so nicely. But again, I trust your handy little bile sack will be able to do the job. So don't hesitate to take advantage of it. It can actually be fun. Think of it this way, no item will ever be out of reach for you again."
Luz chuckled at his comment.
"You know, you and Eda both tend to have similar outlooks on your curses."
"Which is strange because hers allows her to turn into a magnificent harpy while mine turns me into a horrific, animalistic nightmare."
Luz laughed again, louder this time, though she did make sure it wasn't loud enough for Boscha to notice. Her moment of amusement faltered slightly as she began to think about what she did again.
"Am I doing the right thing?" She asked.
"You are doing everything you can to protect the ones you care for. I did too, though I was misguided in what I thought would be for the greater good. Now, I simply wish to do everything in my power to help you become the powerful witch you deserve to be, Little Li-Luz."
"You know, I think I might be okay with you calling me Little Light. It's…nice, actually."
Belos paused, then nuzzled into the crook between her ear and her head.
"Do you think you could call me Philip?" He asked, sounding very sweet and with an almost childish sounding innocence.
"Sure, Philip. I can do that."
"Thank you, Little Light."
Luz smiled as she picked up her pace to keep up better with Boscha as they walked to wherever her and her mother had been hiding out the past 7 months.
