Chapter 6: Payback Time, Fight for the Future!

Sonya wasted no time in unleashing what could only be described as a working class ass kicking on Valkyr. No matter what Valkyr tried, no matter what tactics she used, and no matter how much brute force she applied, she wasn't able to land a SINGLE hit on Sonya, she was moving too fast!

Sonya was pulling out all the stops to knock sense into Valkyr, she brought out her ENTIRE skillset to do this one job.

From her enhanced strength, speed, vision and even the ability to make copies of herself, she had every edge needed over Valkyr. The only thing she had to be mindful of was Valkyr's ever increasing rage.

Each hit Sonya landed on Valkyr cracked her scales and exposed the Mind Control Chips that were causing Valkyr to be a raging monster. Sonya rips one off and crushes it, causing Valkyr to struggle with herself for control before using her self healing to fix her broken scales. Sonya had to be faster and stop her from doing that too much before her rage peaked. Then Sonya had a idea. She uses a decoy, then she begins revving a Spindash, which she would then use to launch a Lightspeed Attack, hitting Valkyr from all directions! Sonya grabbed the second chip, shattering it, but then Valkyr FINALLY grabbed her, and ran into an adjacent room with several Regen Pods. Just then, Sonya got an alert from the Chrono Link Program.

Sonic was in danger! Several experiments in that same room were trying to break Sonic's pod open to eat him!

Sonya: (Thinking) I need to destroy the pods here to remove the experiments there!

Just then, she had an idea. She was gonna use Valkyr to do it! It took a bit of work due to Valkyr fighting for control of herself, but once all the pods were destroyed, Sonya sighed in relief. Now to finish the job. She revs up a Spindash, smacks Valkyr with it, and the two fly back into the Gateway room. Valkyr roared and rushes at Sonya, who was doing the same thing. Sonya won the engagement by punching Valkyr in the face, nearly knocking her lights out. Valkyr tried to get up, but Sonya moved quick, snatching the last control chip and breaking it.

Valkyr roared out in rage, but then she started to steadily calm down. When she regained control, she breathed heavily, then looks at Sonya.

Valkyr: … Did you… save me…?

Sonya: I did.

Sonya, having exerted every bit of energy she had, fell to one knee exhausted. Valkyr looked at her silently, silently more or less saying "thank you" to Sonya.

Jeremiah: Ivo, open the Gateway! Now!

Valkyr was INSTANTLY enraged again as she heard Jeremiah's voice. She turns to him, snarling.

Valkyr: You…! Did it to me! Planted that chip in me! CONTROLLED ME!!

Jeremiah backed up slowly.

Jeremiah: I didn't control you Valkyr, I freed you! We both know you wanted Sonic dead! You should be THANKING me!

Valkyr's eyes turned to solid red sclera with white slits!

Valkyr: LET ME SHOW YOU JUST HOW GRATEFUL I AM!!!!!!!

Jeremiah: No! Keep back!!

Dr Eggman: Jeremiah, we need to–

Valkyr punches Jeremiah into Eggman, causing them both to fly into the portal! After, Valkyr started to revert to her base form, breathing heavily. She slowly turns to Sonya, then walked over. She knelt down, worried.

Valkyr: … Did I hurt Sonic…?

Sonya looks at her, still catching her breath. Then she nods slosly. Valkyr was wide eyed in worry.

Valkyr: I-is he okay…?!

Sonya: … You… You killed him… Valkyr… But–

Valkyr was sniffling, tears falling down her cheeks.

Valkyr: I killed him…! This is my fault…!!

She began bawling her eyes out. Sonya didn't waste another moment, and hugged the giant redhead. Valkyr was taken back by this, and she sloaly returned the hug.

Sonya: It's gonna be okay, Valk… he's gonna be okay…

Valkyr: *Sob* … I'm gonna go find a place to lay down…

Sonya: Good call… Just… It wasn't your fault, Valkyr. You weren't in control.

Sonya soothes the giant, and after a bit, Valkyr finally stood up and left. Sonya watches her, then sighs in sadness. She had failed after all this effort…

Sonic: … Room… spinning…

Sonya perks up, going wide eyed.

Sonya: (Thinking) He's alive…! I…! I did it!

2059 Robotnik Enterprises Time Research Lab.

Building AI: Total cellular regeneration complete in 3. 2. 1.

The regeneration pod opens up, smoke pouring into the room.

Building AI: Regeneration complete. You are fully healed, Sonic the Hedgehog.

Sonic: … Room… spinning…

Sonic climbed out of the pod slowly, nearly falling over as he did.

Sonic: I can barely stand…! W-where am I…?

Sonya: You're in 2059, Hedgehog. The cellular regenerator healed you.

Sonic groans, holding his head.

Sonic: Ugh… Hope my medical insurance covers that…

Sonya: Focus, hedgehog. We have to test the Gateway. Toss something small into it.

Sonic: Oh come on, Sky… Can't I have a breather…?

Sonya: We need to see if the gateway is reestablished. And every second that–

Sonic: OKAY…! Okay… Just… Please… give me a minute…

Sonya: … Okay. Okay…

Sonic stayed still, holding his head and waited for his vision to de blur. His head felt like ass, and his body felt worse.

Sonic: W-what happened…?

Sonya: … You died…

Sonic was wide eyed. He was DEAD?! He started to panic now.

Sonic: I-I-I was DEAD…?! How long was I dead…?!

Sonya: I–

Sonic: HOW LONG…?!

Sonya: … One hour and 23 minutes…

Sonic stumbled around the room, hyperventilating. He sat down next to the pod, a panic attack in full swing!

Sonya: Sonic, calm down! Deep breaths, in through your nose, out through your mouth.

Sonic: I WAS DEAD… FOR OVER AN HOUR…?!

Sonya: Sonic. Calm. Down.

Sonic stopped breathing for a moment, but then he began to take slow, deep breaths, relaxing. He was still in shock at the fact he was dead for over an hour… Once he calmed down enough, he stood up.

Sonic: … Is Valkyr safe?

Sonya: Yes. She isn't under mind control anymore and she left the building.

Sonic sighs in relief.

Sonic: Did she… Did she freak out…?

Sonya: About killing you…? Yeah. She… took it hard.

Sonic: That's not surprising… I'm gonna have to talk to her after this…

Sonya: Good idea… I'm sorry you have to deal with this…

Sonic: It's fine…

He looks at the entrance to the room, then starts walking to it.

Sonic: Imma toss a piece of junk to see if the gate's working one way…

Sonic grabs a piece of tech about the size of a small rock. He aims at the gateway.

Sonic: Incoming!

Sonic tosses the piece through the gateway.

2023 Robotnik Enterprises Time Research Lab Gateway Room.

Sonya stood in front of the gateway room, waiting. Then she raises her hand to catch the piece of debris Sonic tossed.

Sonya: It came through. Perfect.

Sonic: Hm. I feel like my old self. Strength, speed, everything.

Sonya: Yeah, well, it's a good thing that regen pod had your DNA on record.

Sonic: Yeah. Alright. Stand back.

Sonya: What do you mean?

Sonic: I'm coming through the Gateway.

Sonya: Oh, okay.

Sonic: Here I come!

Sonya smiles to herself, but her celebrations were cut short: thr gateway on her current side had its return circuits fried!

Sonya: Wait, WAIT! HOLD ON!

Sonic: What?! What's wrong?!

Sonya: The return circuits on this end are fried! I won't be able to come through even if you set it up on that end. If you come through, I'll be stuck here.

Sonic: Can't you fix it?

Sonya: I can't. The technology doesn't exist here yet. You need to find the parts on your end and send them through.

Sonic: Okay. So how– whoa WHOA, WHAT THE HELL?!

Sonya was sending Sonic the necessary data he needed through the Chrono Link Program, directly granting his brain that info.

Sonya: What?

Sonic: … Did you just send data directly into my brain?!

Sonya: Yes…?

Sonic: How did you do that?

Sonya: Chrono Link Program. I can use it to send or receive information based on both our needs.

Sonic: … Huh. Okay. So, I'm heading to the Hydroponic Jungle…?

Sonya: You got it.

Sonic: Okay. Let's get this party started!

Little do the two of them know that they traded two villains for a brand new one…
