Chapter 14
Riddle's plan was brilliant and would take days to enact so the group decided they had enough for today and split up until tomorrow but not until after Riddle threatened to punish Ace and Deuce if they fought on campus again.
After throwing the pens at Odette, Ruggie ran back to his dorm. As he was catching is breath in the lounge Leona waltzed up to him. "Didn't I tell you to not get caught." He growled as he picked Ruggie up by his over sized vest.
"I-I don't know how they figured it out." Ruggie stuttered.
"It doesn't matter if they figured it out we're still want to do this. We're going to conquer this school!" A goon shouted as they surrounded the duo.
"Fine if you still want to do this we'll do this." Leona sighed letting go of Ruggie. 'I'm surrounded by idiots.'Leona thought rubbing his temples. "I'm going to bed." He sighed.
A few nights later Odette had another dream. Scar with in a cave teasing a bird until three hyenas barged in and interrupted him. "Scar, we're hungry." One whined.
"It's the lioness job to hunt." Scar sighed.
"They won't hunt." He shot back.
"Then eat Sazu." Scar said with a flip of his paw.
"I thought things were tough under Mufasa." One muttered.
"What did you say!" Scar snapped.
"Nothing!" The hyena back pedaled.
'If he doesn't want to be compared then he should do a better job.' Odette thought as the dream faded out and she could hear knocking. She went to the window and looked down to see Jack standing on the front porch. She opened the window and called out his name. "I'll be right down just give a second."
"Grim get up. Jack's here already." Odette said gently shaking him as she got dressed.
"It's still so early." Grim whined taking away.
"I know but it's the day of Tournament." Odette reminded him as she tied her bow.
"Good thing I came by." Jack muttered as they headed towards the stadium.
As they walked through the venues three well dressed students caught Odette's eye. It was Azul and the tweels. "Sales are great this year." Azul grinned.
"Of course selling last minute potions on the side doesn't hurt. Are you going to let in on the loop?" Jade asked raising an eyebrow.
"You'll see soon enough." Azul smiled.
"Why do I feel like they're something shady." She whispered to the others.
"We have enough on your plate today. If this feeling gets any worse my breakfast is going to come up." Jack whispered back gently pulling her along.
"Look at all this yummy food! I want some!" Grim exclaimed.
"We're on a time schedule." Ace said grabbing Grim.
"I can't believe all that work we still didn't make the team." Deuce sighed.
"Maybe next year." Odette said as the PA system crackled to life.
"Ladies and gentlemen please take your seats the yearly Spell Drive Tournament will begin shortly. The Diasomnia team is now taking the field."
"We're late!" Jack said as they began to run towards stadium.
Ruggie stood in the corridor. "Well time to get to work." Ruggie muttered then chugged a potion. "Ugh this tastes awful but I can feel my power already amping up." He coughed. "Laugh with me!" He shouted then began to run.
"The crowd has began to stampede the field." The PA system announced as everyone in the full south bleachers began to run down the stairs and across the field. Within minutes the stadium has empty and the field was abounded expect for Leona and Ruggie.
"Nice job Ruggie." Leona grinned.
"I've never controlled that many people before, it was awesome but exhausting." Ruggie said.
"I think we've heard enough." Riddle said appearing as the dust settled with the rest of the group.
"Oh you've come to battle have you? With only seven of you and one of can't even use magic." Ruggie snarled as the rest of the Savanaclaw dorm appeared behind Leona and him.
"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" Riddle shouted as all the weaker Savanaclaw members were collared.
"You should have know going toe to toe with Riddle Rosehearts was a bad idea." Leona sighed.
"It doesn't matter they're too late to save the Diasomnia players." Ruggie snapped.
"I wouldn't say that." Lilia said as he appeared beside Riddle with Silver and Sebek beside him.
They were all dressed up in their dorm uniforms. Lilia's seemed to the most complicated out of them. His overcoat was much to big for him and could probably fit two people in it. He left it open to reveal high waisted black shorts with green strips that he wore over gray tights. He wore large belts with a few trinkets attached to them and a side layer purple skirt and heeled knee high black boots. He wore a white dress shirt with a black tie and black combat suspenders and a tricorn garrison cap with horns.
'Where does he come up with these outfits?' Odette thought as her eyes went over his outfit but then went over all the others. 'Then again I don't think anyone here really dresses in anything normal.'
"How is that possible?" Ruggie shouted.
"Oh Lilia!" Odette exclaimed a little surprised to see him.
"Hello Ducky, nice to see you uninjured. It would just add to their debt." Lilia smiled at her giving a small wave then turning back towards Leona and Ruggie.
"With my signature spell, Split Card. Those were just my clones in Diasomnia uniforms." Carter explained with a smug grin walking up. "Lovely uniforms by the way."
"You should have said so sooner. Riddle come to us about a week ago and explained everything you were up to and had a plan ready to stop you." Lilia explained with a smile.
"Waka-sama is safe and sound, unharmed! He's probably leading that poor crowd you've run out of here right now!" Sebek explained angrily.
"I give up then." Leona sighed holding up his hands. "I don't care anymore."
"You're giving up!" Ruggie snapped turning to face him.
"I said I don't care." Leona repeated narrowing his eyes at Ruggie.
"All this was for you!" Ruggie snapped at him narrowing his eyes again.
"You're nothing but a trash hyena and I'm nothing but a second hand prince and nothing we can do will change that. We will never conquer anything." Leona snapped grabbing Ruggie's arm.
"We've come this far! We can't give up now." Ruggie argued.
"Ruggie's right! We can still do this!" A goon growled turning on Leona and backing up Ruggie.
"I don't have a good feeling about this." Odette whispered to Grim.
"King's Roar." Leona snarled as the air began to fill with sand. "Ironic isn't it? The savanna hates a drought and I can conquer one any time I want."
"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD! Riddle shouted trying to collar Leona but it just turned to dust.
"Protective Magic is one class I aced." Leona chuckled.
"Look at Ruggie." Odette shouted.
Ruggie had dropped to his knees and had a pained look on his face.
"I can turn anything to dust including people." Leona growled.
"This is over! Call of the Wild!" Jack shouted then transformed into a large white wolf and then attacked Leona.
"Animal transformation potions are illegal!" Leona shouted as the wolf attacked him. He defended himself and let go of Ruggie.
"His concentration is broken!" Grim shouted.
"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" Riddle shouted collaring Leona making the sand stop instantly.
"This is my signature spell." Jack informed him turning back into his normal form.
"Now that this is done we should go see who is wounded. Silver, Sebek please go check." Lilia said turning towards them.
"Of course." They said and left.
"This collar is much more fitting for you then a crown would ever be. Even if you did become king you would never be as good of a king as Lord Malleus. It's laughable to compare you two honestly. You will never be fit to rule." Lilia mocked Leona with a cruel smirk.
"I know I'll never be king no matter how hard I try." Leona muttered looking down at the ground. Suddenly it felt as if his magic began to surge.
"Is that his magic?" Odette asked taking a step back.
"That's not his magic! It's negative energy. Everyone get down!" Lilia shouted grabbing Odette and wrapping themselves up in his overcoat. "You're definitely more than you seem." She whispered if he was shocked by what she said he didn't show it. "I'm sorry that was rude of me." She said blushing a bit.
Riddle's collar flew off and disappeared as a dark energy swallowed Leona. He emerged from the darkness in a black outfit, black pants, a black over skirt, a black shirt with a fur collar. His eyes glowed orange. The shadow around him formed a giant lion.
"Leona has overbloted. This battle is about to get ugly." He said pulling her back up to her feet seeming to ignore her outburst.
"I know I've seen this before." Odette said as Lilia lead her over to the side lines of the field.
"You've seen this before? You'll have to explain that one to me later. I'm going to get Crowley." Lilia said then disappearing.
Once she was alone with Grim Odette stared to freak out again. Her vision began fade as she began to feel weak again. She could hear Leona's voice.
'I've loathed day I was born. I have no place and no future. What was the point of having me? My efforts are never noticed and never awarded No one understands my pain.'
"Ace, Deuce, go protect Odette!" Riddle ordered pointing his staff at Leona. They nodded and did as they were told.
"I'm not letting him get away with this." Jack growled as he took out his pen.
"Me neither." Ruggie coughed standing next to Jack and taking out his pen.
"This won't be easy." Carter said doing the same.
As the battle raged on Odette could see what Leona was thinking. He was thinking of how all the staff back in the palace bad mouthed him. 'They would be singing a different tune if I was the first born.' He went to the day his brother had a son.
"Why weren't you there?" The Crown Prince Felena snapped at his brother.
"What does it matter?" Leona sighed as he left the room not wanting to have this conversation.
'Why is life so unfair?'Leona wondered as he was defeated and passed out.
"She seems to be calming down. Her breathing is evening out." Odette could hear Deuce said and felt his hand rubbing his back. "You okay?" He asked as she turned to him.
She nodded and stood up and went to Leona's side and held his hand.
Odette came and quickly went to Leona.
"Hey, you want to explain that to us?" Ace asked following her.
"I'll explain later." She answered.
"She did that last time with Riddle too." Grim explained sitting in her lap.
"Alright." Deuce sighed standing next to Ace.
"Do you remember doing this to you too?" Carter whispered to Riddle as everyone else gathered around them and Riddle nodded.
A little while later Leona woke up. "W-what happened?" He asked as he stared up at everyone.
"You over blotted." Crowley said crossing his arms over his chest, he had just shown up.
"I- I did?" He asked sitting up.
"You did. I've been informed you're the one behind the attacks on the students." Crowley said.
"I am." Leona sighed.
"You're house is disqualified from the tournament then. I'll come up with your personal punishment after I talk to your victims." Crowley informed him.
"That's fair I suppose."
"I can play in the tournament then!" Grim shouted floating in the air excited.
"Yes I did say that. I've even got you all the players you need. The ghosts from your dorm." Crowley said with a smile.
"Ugh!" Grim cried out as the ghost appeared behind him.
"Actually sir we've already decided what we want for his punishment." Trey said walking on to the field with Jamil and the other victims.
"Oh and that is?" Crowley asked raising an eyebrow.
"We want them to play so we can have our revenge on the field." Trey explained.
"Alright, I'll allow it. "Crowley shrugged.
"You just want to sweep it under the rug." Odette muttered as she stood up.
"I can only be defeated once." Leona said dusting himself off.
"That's what you think. "Ruggie said. "Laugh with me!" He said making Leona copy him, making Jack chuckle.
"Oh so you can laugh." Odette teased.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Jack muttered.
Grim's team gets to face Savanaclaw first and during the match Grim overthrew the disk and the disk hit Odette in the head who had moved back to the sidelines.
Odette had another dream, she could feel the warmth in the air and hot sand under her.
"Odette are you okay?" A feminine voice asked from above her.
"It seems Lee got carried away during the volleyball match." A deep male voice explained.
"I said I was sorry." A voice whined as Odette sat up and looked around at the beautiful beach around her. But as soon as she had the dream it was gone again.
Odette woke up hours later in the infirmary. "What happened?" She groaned rubbing her forehead.
"Grim knocked you out." Deuce explained pointing at a pouting Grim.
"Jack here how to stop Crowley from killing him." Ace laughed pointing at them.
"So who won?" Odette asked.
"Diasomnia again." Leona groaned.
"There you are Uncle Leona!" A little tan kid with red hair shouted as he ran into the infirmary and hugged Leona's leg.
"Uncle!" Everyone exclaimed.
"This is my nephew, Cheka. Where are your attendants?" Leona asked as Cheka climbed up him.
"I ditched them. Have you been reading my letters? When are you coming home next?" Cheka asked.
"On my next school break." He sighed pulling the kid off his neck.
"What a cute uncle you are." Odette teased making everyone laugh.
Since she was up the nurse sent Odette back to her dorm.
As Odette slept that night Grim stuck a midnight snack, another black stone. "It's so yummy." He sighed then went to bed.
During the night Odette had a strange dream of the mirror shining and being take over by shadow. Once the shadow receded she could she herself in the blue and green uniform again She had the rugged laptop in her lap.
"You need to stop being so lazy. You're too far behind in your qualifications." She could hear a voice snap at her. It was someone in the same uniform but not the people from the last dream. This time the other person was a tall guy and a booming voice.
"I'm not being lazy, I want to make sure I know what I'm doing there's a lot to know." She snapped back before the dream began to fade away.
"Qualifications? What qualifications was he talking about? Why were we both so frustrated?' Odette wondered. 'Was my job hard? Did I like it?'

So all that made this chapter a bit longer. The next chapter will be a break of the main story and another change of POV. So please stick around.
