Mondstadt

Mondstadt, a city described as the city of freedom with many citizens walking around.

The city is bright and breezy which is a refreshing place for those to relax in, just like the wilderness.

A place full of people that are minding their own business.

Taking a deep breath, Amber is relieved to be back in the city. "Ahh… Lumine, Paimon. Welcome to Mo- Eh?"

To Amber's surprise, Lumine and Paimon vanish before she welcomes the duo.

"Lumine! Aah! Just how rude is that girl!?" Amber shouts as she puffs her cheeks out of anger.

Ignoring the fact that people are catching attention to her, Amber starts to run, starting to search for the girl who saved her life earlier.

Where is Lumine?

On Lumine's side, a clanging noise is being heard by a hammer as Lumine waits for a man to finish a dagger.

"I don't know, Lumine. Are we really gonna leave Amber alone like that?" Paimon asked, worried about how Amber felt while searching for her.

Lumine has no words as she shrugs her shoulders and is still waiting.

Paimon herself is trying to keep her cool and let Lumine have some time to herself, especially when she wants to be alone.

"Are you lonely?" Paimon asked.

Still no answer.

After a hammer, a man halts and turns towards Lumine and Paimon, curious to know why a girl in a cloak is standing in front of him.

"Can I help you?" The blacksmith asked.

"Craft me as many swords as you can." Lumine requested, handing out a bag full of many materials and most of them are iron ore.

"Excuse me?"

"Craft one, now." Lumine is not in the mood as she's desperate to prepare for more hunts and adventures.

"Listen, young lady, I've been crafting weapons for many years and you're expecting me to do… ten for you?" The blacksmith stops after seeing so many ores right in front of him.

Before he makes a complaint, Lumine unsheaths her sword and places it on his neck.

"LUMINE! What are you doing!?" Paimon exclaimed in shock.

"Craft now, or I'll shove the sword where the sun don't shine, Wagner." Lumine growls.

"Okay… I'll do it…" Wagner pants in shock and picks up the hammer.

Afterwards Lumine sheaths her sword and turns her head after hearing Amber's shout from a distance.

Lumine grunts.

"Lumine! Where are you!?" Amber yelled.

"Ah! Over here, Am- HUI!?"

Abruptly, Paimon is yanked by Lumine as Lumine herself is blending in the crowds and approaches up the stairs.

As for Wagner, he reluctantly starts Lumine's request and then halts.

"Hold on? How did this young lady know my name?"

Panting after arriving at the blacksmith store, Amber is still on the hunt for Lumine and Paimon after their disappearance.

"Miss. Amber?"

"Excuse me. Have you seen Lumine? She's blonde and wears a white dress under a cloak? She even has a fairy companion with her." Amber asks.

"You mean the one who forced me to craft a lot of swords for her? Yeah. She's hiding behind the crowds." Wagner answers, pointing at a hooded cloak that is walking up the stairs while hiding.

"Oohh! LUMINE!"

Amber then dashes forward, hoping that she'll get Lumine and keep her from running off and getting lost.

Why is she running away?

Later in the afternoon, sitting on the higher floor, Lumine is taking a bite of a roasted meat she bought at a different market as well as Paimon, only to avoid Amber.

What Paimon doesn't get is Lumine's hostility towards certain people.

"Lumine. Paimon doesn't like it."

"Hm?" Lumine turns her head towards Paimon.

"Paimon thinks that you're afraid of letting others hold you back, but you cannot burden yourself like that." Said Paimon.

Lumine sighs while finishing the meat.

"Paimon, it's not that they're holding me back, it's just that I'm not qualified to have anyone in my party." Lumine explained, but was unsure why she's worried about them despite threatening them if they do something stupid.

"But you are! At least give it a try! All Paimon was doing was trying to help you with your issue!"

"If you're that worried, then why not understand how I feel?"

"Paimon does! You're being ignorant at this point!"

Lumine grits her teeth as she's wishing to cook Paimon alive and eat her if she doesn't shut up.

"Please, Lumine, just give it a try. I'm sure Amber will be useful for our journey." Paimon pleads.

"Ugh! I hate all of you…" Lumine groans.

With the duo arguing, a footstep stops them which leads them to turn around.

"Hello? You girls came here uninvited." A blue haired man called.

"And who asked you, pretty boy?" Lumine asks before unsheathing her sword.

"Oh? A sassy one, I see? No matter, I'm gonna have to put you under custody." The man sighed.

"Lumine, don't!"

While Paimon is pushed aside, Lumine unsheaths her sword and charges.

"How about I'll put you in your place!"

While swinging down, Lumine is taking a head start in swinging her sword down.

Little did she know, the man quickly blocks with his sword, causing Lumine to trip forward after the man lets his sword loose on her's.

"Ooh, a feisty one."

"Bite me!" Lumine growls.

"Ahaha! No need to be this aggressive, I'm just here to introduce my-"

Interrupted by a sword clashing, the man sighs and then opens his uncovered eye.

"Okay. Maybe I'll have to call in the cavalry then, but I can't." The man is thinking about how to stop this brute.

Fortunately, some miniature girl arrives between the duo.

"Lumine! Stop!"

Lumine growls again while trying to push the man with her sword on his.

"Oh? What's this?"

With the man letting Lumine loose again, he inspects Paimon while surprised by a certain creature's appearance.

"Aww, how cute."

"Listen! We didn't mean to harm you!" Paimon exclaims.

"I know." The man smiles and raises his fist while Lumine dives.

Unfortunately, her blind rage has caused her to crash onto his fist, resulting in knocking her out.

"So this is Lumine. Quite the looker, but her personality doesn't stick too well with that appearance."

"Yeah… Paimon was expecting her to be a little less mean and violent, but Paimon doesn't know what's gotten into Limine's head."

"Hm… Maybe something must've happened to her, but all you can do is wait for her to crack."

"Yeah…"

"Oh. I'm the cavalry captain and the quartermaster of the Knights of Favonius, Kaeya. Most people know me as the Frostwind swordsman." Kaeya introduces himself, stands on the corner of the higher floor and watches the afternoon sky.

"Oh! Paimon is Paimon! It's nice to meet you, Mr. Kaeya!" Paimon bows while floating.

"Please. No need to be formal." Kaeya laughs and then looks down as he sees an unconscious Lumine. "You two are very interesting, the polar opposites of each other."

"How so?" Paimon asked.

"Simple, Lumine is very harsh, active and, as I heard, trying to avoid us for some reason. You on the other hand are easygoing, passive and trying to be a good friend to her." Kaeya points out despite having no knowledge about a couple of girls.

"But it's not easy being friends with a murderous traveller."

"I'm sure it will eventually." Kaeya pats Paimon's head, only to cheer her up and let her give Lumine some time to catch a break.

Speaking of Lumine, she moans as she slowly moves, then picks herself up as she's struggling to stand up.

Then she staggers down to her backside, causing Lumine to grunt while she feels defeated.

Kaeya then leans one of his knees to the floor and reaches his arm towards Lumine.

"Lumine."

"Huh?" Lumine raises her head, knowing that Paimon and this guy had a chat with each other.

"I'd love to introduce you to the Knights of Favonius. You're welcome to come over." Kaeya kindly offers.

This causes Lumine to blush and turn her head away as she's willing to make a choice and join the Knights of Favonius.

"Fine…"

"Good. Welcome, Lumine. I'm Kaeya, the cavalry captain and the quartermaster of the Knights of Favonius." Kaeya grins and laughs whereas Lumine sighs.

Knights Headquarters

Inside the building, the corridor is spotless and the sky remains with some clouds and the guards are saluting to Kaeya after he, Lumine and Paimon went past them.

As uncomfortable as Lumine and Paimon are, they're about to visit someone important.

Then the door opens to the office as the only one stacking books is a woman who was climbing the ladders.

"Yo! Lisa, we got visitors." Kaeya called from below.

"Oh? Oh, Kaeya, I see you brought in a cutie, let me get down and-"

BANG!

"Ah! Oh my!" Gasping in shock, Lisa is loose on the ladder as the ladder itself is rotating after a bang on the wall.

As Kaeya stands and watches Lisa fall, Paimon instantly zooms in front of Lumine.

"Lumine, Lisa needs help!"

"Eh!? Do I have to?" Lumine moaned.

"Come on! We can't have her breaking her neck, so please!" Paimon begs.

As Lumine rather watches Lisa fall, her instincts tell her to do what she's supposed to do.

"Fine!"

Finally, Lumine dashes past Kaeya and Paimon, only to reach towards Lisa as she's falling from the ladder.

"Ah!"

Then crash!

"Lumine!" Paimon exclaims.

"Oi, Lisa, Lumine, are you alright?" Kaeya asks.

What the duo witness are a couple of girls on each other as Lisa is on top of Lumine, who has her head onto her well endowed breasts.

"Oh? Yes. Hm? Oh my. Thank you for breaking my fall, cutie." Lisa is surprised to see a blonde girl saving her from falling.

"Nngh…" Lumine groans while pulling up her thumb and then lies down completely.

What doesn't help is that Lumine actually bled out from her nose after the impact she went through.

At least Lumine did something good.

A few moments later.

"Lumine and Paimon, hm? Ufufu, you two are cute but interesting, I'd like to know more about you." Lisa is curious to know about Lumine and Paimon's backstory. "Well. Our Grand Master is busy at the moment, so why not make yourselves at ho-"

BANG!

A door opens with Amber looking unkempt by the hair after all the search she went through.

"There you are!" Amber yelled.

"Oh, Amber! I'm glad you're back!" Kaeya cheerfully called while waving.

"Oh no." Paimon has realised what that means for Lumine after running off.

Lumine gulps as she fears what'll happen to Paimon and mostly her.

With Amber running towards Lumine, she then dives onto her back as she catches Lumine as well as pushing her forward, leading Lumine to fall onto Lisa's chest face first.

"Lumine, you idiot! Why did you run off like that!? Are you stupid or are you trying to run away from me!?" Amber cries while clinging onto Lumine's back and hugs her.

"Amber!? Honestly, you surprised me." Lisa sighs.

"Sorry, Lisa! It's Lumine who ran off before I take her to you guys and give her a tour!" Amber bows by sinking her head lower.

Lumine on the other hand is lying on Lisa this time as the opposite way happened earlier.

"I guess you like Lisa as a pillow." Kaeya laughs.

"Lumine. Paimon didn't know you're a pervert." Paimon leans down with a smirk, seeing as Lumine cools down by Lisa's breasts.

"Hmm?" Lumine moans, moving her head with an unimpressed look on her face.

"Uh… Lumine?" Amber is about to ask her something about Lisa.

"It's okay. You can rest now, cutie." Lisa then embraces Lumine by letting her relax on her chest.

"Thanks…" Lumine sighs and closes her eyes, resting on those soft chests.

Peace and quiet.

It's what Lumine wanted for a snooze.

A few hours later.

Her eyes are opening.

She can see the amber sky which means it's getting dark.

Earlier, she was sleeping on Lisa's chest. Now it's her thighs, meaning it's her lucky day to sleep calmly.

After she sighs, she then opens her eyes as she witnesses a woman staring down at her.

"Eh?"

"Shh, she just woke up." Lisa whispers.

"I know. Looks like you're awake, Lumine. Sleeping on my librarian, I see." A woman asks calmly.

Lumine opens her mouth, trying to answer, but has none.

"I know. And it's a good thing." Said the woman.

"Why is that, Jean?" Lisa asks.

"Come to my desk." Jean turns away while Lumine and Lisa stand up on their feet and approach the desk.

Those already there are Paimon, Amber and Kaeya after waiting for Lumine and Lisa.

"Ah! Lumine!" Amber cheerfully grabs Lumine's hands and then lowers her head while trying to stay happy. "I'm sorry about earlier."

"I- It's okay! Right, Lumine?" Paimon waves her arms and then turns to Lumine as Lumine herself clicks her tongue and then sits on a chair in front of Jean. "Lumine…"

"It's okay, Paimon, I think Lumine is being herself. Maybe she doesn't want to speak." Laughing it off, Amber is still smiling.

But Paimon is worried.

Finally, Jean put her hands together while sitting behind her desk.

"Now, Let us introduce our newest candidate. I am Jean, the Acting Grand Master of the knights. I'm looking forward to working with you, traveler." Jean smiles and looks into Lumine's eyes.

To Lumine: Jean is the type that leads all, but was hiding something behind her, leading her to stare back.

The group that Lumine introduced are the knights.

Kaeya, the Frostwind swordsman, the cavalry captain and the quartermaster.

Amber, the Gliding champion, the outrider.

Lisa, the Witch of purple rose, the librarian.

And Jean, the Dandelion Knight, the Acting Grand Master.

"A strong silent type you are? Hm. I can live with that." Jean then pulls out a paper as she hears that Lumine introduced herself to the Knights of Favonius. "And Paimon is your friend, Am I not correct?"

Lumine nods, knowing how Paimon felt which sometimes annoyed her.

"Yeah. Paimon's always there for Lumine whether anyone harms her!" Paimon also said yes about their friendship despite their differences.

Afterwards, Jean clears her throat and actually catches all the knights, Lumine and Paimon's attention.

"The temples are crowded, even nested by those monsters. I want all of you to weed them and prevent the storm from happening in Mondstadt. Something is going on and the Stormterror is roaming around Mondstadt." Jean points at 3 of the temples on the map as Lumine, Paimon, Amber, Kaeya and Lisa are checking to see the issues at the mountains.

"Also, Lumine, do not and I mean DO NOT kill the Stormterror." Paimon warned Lumine, considering habits like that happened everyday.

"Yeah, yeah. We've been told about this earlier." Lumine sighed.

"Good."

"I'm taking the Temple of Falcon!" Amber raises her arm, preparing to face the enemies.

"Then I'll be waiting at the Temple of Wolf." Kaeya sighs.

"Oh? That leaves me going to the Temple of Lion. Well, cuties, I hope you prepare yourselves." Lisa giggles.

"Yeah." Lumine and Paimon respond at the same time, ready to make more body count, which Paimon disapproved of.

"Good. Knights of Favonius, get ready and make sure to bring any survivors into Mondstadt for aid." Jean ordered.

"Right." Those, apart from Lumine, replied.

Before they leave, Kaeya's shoulder has been tapped.

"Hm?"

After that, a fist slams onto Kaeya's face, leading him to be pushed onto the table and dropped down.

"Kaeya!" Amber shrieked.

"Oh my!" Lisa is surprised to see Lumine beating Kaeya with a punch.

Jean has no words to say after knowing what happened earlier.

"LUMINE! What are you doing!?" Paimon yelled while punching Lumine's head which felt like a boulder smashing her, causing Lumine to grunt in pain.

"Relax, Paimon. Ow… I kinda deserved it." Kaeya laughs, picking himself up and stretching himself.

Paimon, Amber and Lisa sigh in relief and Lumine takes her leave.

After the group leaves, Jean then holds out a sword that is sheathed and opens it a little while staring into the blade.

Then she closed it.

Under the orange sky outside in Mondstadt city, Lumine and Paimon are standing by the blacksmith store and more than 10 swords are being put in front of the duo.

"Ooh." Lumine is surprised.

"That much? That's gonna cost us a lot of mora." Paimon gasped in shock after seeing how many swords were being made.

"Don't worry, they're free. For now." Wagner sighs in exhaustion and then hands them over to Lumine. "If you break all of them, then none of those I offer you are free anymore, got that?"

"Yeah, yeah. I get it, old man." Lumine accepted them all and then handed them over to Paimon, causing Paimon to quickly drop to the ground by the weight of the sword.

"Too… Heavy!" Paimon grunts while carrying them all.

"Get used to it. We'll be having Hilichurl heads tonight." Lumine smirks as she's about to do some dirty job. "But first, we must visit him before going to the Temple of Falcon."

"Eh? Oh! You mean…"

"Barbatos." Lumine answered.

The duo are starting to get prepared for the quest and also for a visit with a certain God.

It's time to begin their journey.

Soon, the real story begins.
