[Location: City of Orario, main plaza.]

The white-haired adventurer and the green-clothes young Hylian where in the middle of Orario's central plaza, awaiting the arrival of a certain adventurer's guild advisor.

"Seriously Bell, how the hell did I end up agreeing to this…" Link asked with a tired tone in his voice.

The Argonaut only scratched the back of his head, while he released a drop of sweat. "Well…"

[FLASHBACK.]

"So...does that mean Link and I can explore the seventh floor?" Bell asked sounding quite excited.

The advisor looked at the Argonaut with some concern and only sighed. "For one thing, with your current stats it might give you access to the seventh floor but…on the other hand…the armor of both of you…ugh…"

Eina stared at the outfit of a certain hero of time with a displeased face.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? The Hylian asked before the elf's gaze.

"I think you should get more clothes than your green dress and hat…you should at least get some pants…"

Link looked at her feeling very offended. "Well, excuuuse me, Ms Eina! But first of all it's not a dress, it's a tunic, and second of all I'm already wearing a pair of very short green pants under my tunic, it's not my fault that you people cannot see it!".

Before Bell could warn the poor and naive Hylian, it was already too late, Ms. Eina had grabbed the blond's shoulder, and held him with inhuman strength, letting out a worrying aura, as she whispered in his ear:

"It wasn't a question..."

[END OF FLASHBACK.]

"Oh yeah...I remember now..." Link said as he felt a chill run down his spine. "Seriously, I didn't know women could be so scary…"

"I agree..." Bell replied, remembering some 'events' he lived with Lady Hestia.

That moment of brotherhood was interrupted by the familiar voice of a certain receptionist.

"Oooiii, Bell, Link! Here!!"

Bell was stunned to see Ms. Eina in wearing other clothes, than her uniform, while Link didn't even flinch in the slightest.

"Good morning, I see that you both arrived very early. Did you both really want to shop with me?" Eina asked trying to flirt with both boys to see their reaction.

"No..." Link replied dryly.

"Ah, n-no, it's just that I… um…" Feeling embarrassed by his guild advisor's outfit, while she continued to indirectly flirt with the white-haired boy.

'Poor and naive Bell, may the goddesses have mercy on his soul...' Link thought as he walked next to them.

"By the way Eina, where exactly are we going?" The hero of time asked, trying to break the silence while his friend looked at him with a face that said: 'thank you'.

"Just there." Eina replied pointing to the Tower of Babel.

"To Babel?" Both somewhat curious adventurers asked, to which the elf only responded by nodding her head.

"Well, more precisely, we are going to the Hephaestus familia's store."

Both boys were silent for several seconds, before the advisor's words 'clicked' deep in their small (and dumb) brain.

"WHAAAT!?" Both adventurers yelled in shock at her statement.

"B-But, we don't have that much money to buy at the Hephaestus familia's shop." Bell argument.

"The only way we could pay for the things they sell there, is if we robbed a bank!!" Link argued.

"Stop yelling and let's go at once."

Several hours later.

[Location: City of Orario, main plaza.]

The two adventurers and the elf advisor already left the Tower of Babel and were currently standing in front of a fountain.

Bell had bought a light armor made by a certain 'Welf Crozzo' and which cost him most of his savings, which he kept inside a large bag.

On the other hand, Link wore the same green tunic and hat, with the only difference that, under it, he wore a long-sleeved shirt made of white cotton, with small brown leather gauntlets. [A/N: Imagine the gloves/gauntlets of the 'Warm Doublet' from BOTW.]

He was also wearing white cotton pants, while still wearing the same leather boots.

"Honestly, I quite like the clothes I bought." Link said feeling proud of himself.

"I still don't understand how you convinced the store owner to give you a 50% discount on the clothes you bought." Asked the rather curious Argonaut.

"Uh…."

[FLASHBACK]

Link approached the counter, leaving the clothes he was going to buy on the side of the counter as he faced the dwarf in charge of the store.

"How much do I have to pay for these clothes?"

"5,000.00 valis, take it or leave it." The dwarf replied somewhat grumpily.

'Damn it, I only have 3,000.00 valis…' The Hylian thought before taking out a green rupee from his rupee bag.

The dwarf was perplexed and wide-eyed when he saw that gem in front of his eyes, leaving him speechless.

"Uh sir? Are you oka-" *SLAM!*

The dwarf had fainted from shock, leaving Link somewhat worried.

"…Uh…I think, I broke him…" Said Link, peeking over the desk trying to see if the dwarf was okay.

[END OF FLASHBACK]

"…Don't worry about it." Said the Hylian boy, smiling while sweat dropping.

"Okay?..." Bell asked feeling a bad feeling about the story behind his friend's purchases.

"Oh! Before they leave, Bell wanted to give you this." Eina said as she unwrapped a green arm wear plate.

"Huh? I-I can't accept it!"

"Please don't accept it for me…accept it for yourself…" Said the advisor, denying that Bell would return the object. "To tell the truth, you never know when an adventurer might die inside the dungeon, I met many who never returned…."

'Were those encouraging words? Because they didn't sound encouraging at all' Thought Link while Bell was looking at the armor piece.

"And I don't want you to disappear, neither of you. Also, Bell, I see how hard you work, that's why I really wanted to help you…accept this gift, for me…will you do it?"

Bell silently stared at Eina for a few seconds before answering. "Thank you so much…"

A few minutes later.

[Location: City of Orario, alleyways.]

Bell and Link were walking through the alleys of Orario, while realizing that it was about to get dark.

"*Sigh* It got quite late…" The Argonaut commented, a bit tired.

"Well, you know what they say; 'time flies when you're having fu'-Agh!!" Link was interrupted after colliding with a hooded girl, who fell to the ground abruptly.

"Hey are you okay?" Bell asked, but before even receiving an answer from the girl, steps were heard approaching quickly.

"YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE! DAMN PALLUM!!"

*CLASH!*

*CLASH!*

At that moment, the sound of three blades colliding echoed in the alley. A black-haired man had drawn a sword, trying to attack that girl, but before he could land any slashes, his blade was intercepted by Bell's knife and by the Master Sword.

"AND WHO ARE YOU!? HER FRIENDS OR WHAT!?" Asked the man withdrawing his sword.

Before Bell could say anything, Link had already taken a fighting stance as he looked at the man with a straight face. "Seriously? You were going to attack a defenseless girl in the middle of an alley, for an adventurer you have fallen very low."

"Huh!? What did you say shortie!?"

"Stop." It demanded a voice, which belonged to Ryuu.

"Don't get involved in this get out!"

"Silence!" Ryuu exclaimed, silencing the man. "I don't want to resort to violence…it always ended up exceeding…"

The latter terrified the adventurer and gave Link chills. The adventurer bolted out of the alley.

While Bell thanked the maid, Link realized that the girl they had protected was no longer there, in turn, the Hylian had a bad feeling and began to check his saddlebag, noticing that an object was missing.

'W-Where is the Ocarina of Time!?'

[AUTHOR NOTES]

Before I end up the 1st part of this chapter, I'd like to answer and clarify a few things related to the fic.

1-Although Link just recently got the Falna, the reason why he is level 3, is related to a certain triangle-shaped power that Link possesses, which allows Link to bypass some rules.

2-The Link of this fic is from Ocarina of Time / Majora's Mask, only in this story he is physically 15 years old, (the same age as Bell).
