Monster In The Garage
"What happened here?" Stu said, looking at the wrecked garage. They'd been getting ready to clean up the haunted house when they'd heard a racket and found paint cans lying all over.
"I always said those shelves were a little flimsy," Didi said, reaching down to keep Tommy from crawling into the paint. The baby looked at the messy garage in confusion. His mommy and daddy were worse at putting their toys away than him! Chuckie, for his part, was crinkling his nose in disgust. No one had ever taught the Pickles how to sort things properly! But soon the babies focused on the Reptar Bars they'd been given to nibble on, giggling as they stuck their tongue out to try and see if they'd turned green. The night before's distress had been completely forgotten.
Lou though shook his head. "It ain't the shelves! It's hoodlums!"
"Hoodlums pop?" Stu said with a smirk.
"Course! Come in here jealous of our nice home and decided ta make a mess!"
Spike chose that moment to bark, ambling up to Chuckie and licking his face, earning a squeal of laughter from the baby. Tommy cooed and wiggled his feet and Spike lifted his head and licked Tommy's toes, causing him to screech and thrash happily.
"…well, we know it wasn't Spike because he's inside the house," Stu said, reaching down and giving the good boy a pat on the head. "Think we would have noticed if he snuck around us and came from inside the garage."
"Just an accident, most likely," Didi said with a shrug, Tommy curling up in her arms.
But Spike suddenly stopped and growled, much to the confusion of the adults. There was something in the garage… something that might hurt his Tommy! He suddenly burst into action, leaping over the paint can and darting about the garage.
"Whoa, maybe Spike did do it!" Stu said.
His father though shook his head. "No way! I remember my ol' dog Skippy doin' just that! That's huntin'!" After a moment Spike growled and lunged, Didi turning Tommy away and motioning for Chuckie to follow as Spike killed the mouse that had snuck into the garage.
Later on Tommy's other grandparents came to visit him. And other than his Grandpa Boris telling a story that might have been a touch too scary for babies… nothing really happened all that interesting.
It was just a standard day.
Tommy smiled and hugged Spike as he listened to more stories, eating another of the left over Reptar Bars, content.

"Command!" Private Wimpel said, keeping the UFO he was flying carefully hidden. "It appears Agent Torku was found and eliminated."
"The humans are clever," the alien commander stated. "They saw through our ruseto look like earth mice. So be it! We will abandon our attempts to secretly invade!" With that the UFO invasion force zipped away from Earth.
Somewhere in heaven a jellybean headed soul pouted about the aliens leaving.
