Reptar On Ice
"Look guys!" Tommy said, staring at the little lizard he'd found. "Reptar!"
His friends all ooooohed only for Phil to frown. "He's kinda small to be Reptar."
"Maybe he's a Baby Reptar," Lil said.
Tommy let out a gasp in delight. This was great… it was Reptar but a baby like them!
But just as soon as he thought of that he became worried. Angelica had told him that Reptar had been hit on the head by a rock and become a tonsil. What if the same thing happened to the baby?! He had to make sure Baby Reptar was safe!
At that moment Baby Reptar began to scurry away.
"Get'im!" Tommy cried out and the babies gave chase, Tommy finally grabbing onto Baby Reptar. "It's okay, we're going to- hey!" Baby Reptar squirmed out of his grasp again. "No!" Tommy said, leaping forward and catching the lizard, which wiggled trying to escape. "You can't just go running off! You might get hit in the head and become a tonsil!"
"I think he wants to explore," Lil said.
"Well he can't!" Tommy said firmly. "We have tos protect him!"
"Tommy, it's your mom!" Chuckie called out.
Thinking quickly Tommy shoved Baby Reptar into his diaper. But Baby Reptar just squirmed about, making Tommy at once cringe, wiggle, and giggle at the different sensations he felt. His mommy came and picked him up, making funny faces at him before taking him and his friends inside.
"You can't go running off on your own. Too dangerous for you." Tommy would have pouted at that but Baby Reptar was still squirming in his diapee.
But finally his mommy walked away and Tommy took the lizard out. "Okay, you need to stay-hey!" Once more Baby Reptar wiggled his way out of his hands, this time Phil managing to grab him before he could escape the playpen. "Stop that!" Tommy told Baby Reptar sternly. "You can't go running off! You might get hit in the head and turned into a tonsil and-oh."
Tommy blinked.
"What's the matter?" Lil asked.
"That's why our mommies don't let us go on adventures," Tommy murmured. "They don't want to turn us into baby babies or never have fun… they are scared we might get hurt."
"But we're babies!" Phil declared. "We can't get hurt."
"Yes we can," Chuckie said sternly. "Easily!"
"Chuckie's right," Tommy said. He looked at the squirming Baby Reptar and realized that he couldn't help him. He needed his Reptar mommy and Reptar daddy to protect him.
So Tommy let out a cry to get his mommy's attention, and presented her with Baby Reptar. And she took him away and Tommy knew he was going back to his mommy and daddy who loved him and put him in playpens and gave him bottles.
And Tommy didn't fuss at all when his mommy dressed him in little overalls and shoes so he wouldn't get cold at Reptar on Ice.
Because she loved him.
