Hello readers, Chapter 89 is here, and so is the mighty storm dragon Geelorokhi, do our heroes have any hope of defeating the savage monster? Read and see for yourself!
Link, Aviel, Nemisa, Saria, Korume and Volga all stood before the giant eight-headed dragon of storms, the very one that separated Aviel and her parents ten years ago, the most powerful of all Gleeok dragons known as Geelorokhi. Lightning bolts struck down from the dark clouds overhead as the eight heads of the dragon all roared out in unison.
"Greeheheheheheh! Greeheheheeeh! My true form has returned to me! Now the Great Fairy's power will be mine!" the dragon shouted.
"By the Goddess Venus, the storm dragon Geelorokhi has returned!" Mayor Nymnalo exclaimed in horror.
"Everyone flee for your lives!" shouted a Rito.
The crowd all screamed out and started running and flying off as fast as they could. Those that tried to fly away were nearly struck by some of the lightning bolts coming down, forcing them to land to the ground and focus on running instead.
"So this is his true form..." Link muttered, holding Aviel as she was shaking in fear from the sight of the monster.
"It's horrifying, it's no wonder Aviel was so traumatized by it..." Nemisa whispered.
'Will... I grow up to be a monster like this someday...?' Volga thought to himself as he stared up at his father.
Geelorokhi looked over to see the Sky Guardian Roc laying on the ground, helpless to get up as the Rito were trying to aide him, and the large dragon grinned wickedly.
"I've waited so long for this day, I'll finally put an end to this war between us, bird." Geelorokhi spoke, as one of his heads rose up and started to charge up a beam of lightning, aiming it right at Roc.
But then an arrow shot through the air and hit his head. Geelorokhi growled in response and looked down at the warriors before him. Link was holding out his Fairy Bow with his eyes narrowed.
"Back off of him buddy, your fight's with us." Link said, as Nemisa went into a fighting stance, Saria gripped her Deku Staff, Korume conjured her ice spears, and Volga had his flaming spear at the ready.
"You dare challenge me as I am now? Greeheheheh... so foolish." Geelorokhi chuckled.
"Aviel," Link spoke, "Leave this to us, you go see what you can do to help your Grandpa Roc."
"But..." Aviel said looking up at him.
"It's okay Aviel, we understand how you feel." Saria said, "After everything you went through protecting Link, we're going to help you protect everyone!"
Aviel stared out at her friends; small tears formed in her eyes, as she nodded to them and ran off to go see to Roc. Geelorokhi meanwhile leered down at Link, Nemisa, Saria, Korume and Volga, as all eight of his heads roared out loudly in unison.
"Everyone, attack!" Link shouted as they all charged into battle.
Nemisa flipped through the air and did a flying kick against one of the heads. Another came up and snapped at her, so she jumped away and came down on another of the heads. She started pummeling it on it's forehead, but one came up from the left and fired a beam at her, forcing her to jump away to evade it.
Saria was battling against one head, dodging it's bites and flinging out Deku Seeds at it to stun it. The head fired off some balls of lightning down at her, to which she countered by producing a giant leaf that she used as a shield. The energy balls came into contact with the leaf and exploded into electrical energy, causing Saria to go flying back. She then conjured large spiked Deku Nuts strapped onto her staff by vines, and she swung them out like boas, smacking them against the head.
Korume fired off her ice spears into one of the heads, who countered with lightning beams. Korume managed to dodge each blast, but noticed her spears were still getting blasted out of midair by them. She concentrated and took on her advanced ice form from back when she battle against Kesuta in the Spirit Temple, her clothing replaced with ice armor and her limbs covered in large jagged ice, and she went in with close range combat, kicking and stabbing at the head with them.
Volga spread his wings and took to the air. He came down at one head with his spear and slashed at it several times. The head managed to butt him away, so he transformed into his full dragon form and came down blasting at it with fire, before biting down on the right side of it's neck. The head was unable to shake him off, so another head came up from the left and fired a beam to blast Volga off of it.
As the center head of Geelorokhi fired off a beam of electricity of it's own, Link ran forward, rolling and dodging away from each blast that came at him. He blocked one small beam with his shield, and saw Geelorokhi's head lunging forward with his teeth ready to snap, so he pulled out his Longshot and fired it at the horn of a higher head, shooting Link into the air just before the center head could bite him. Link then came straight down and slashed his sword across the center one, causing all eight heads to roar out in pain.
"GRAAH! You'll pay for that mortal!" Geelorokhi shouted.
"Hmm... interesting..." Korume observed, but was forced back into battle before she could think on it any longer.
Aviel meanwhile ran over to Roc who was being watched over by some of the Rito. The bird people, upon seeing Aviel, tried to step out in front of Roc to protect him from her, fearing that she might really be the enemy trying to hurt him, while others saw her and desperately ran over to bow down to her.
"Grandpa Roc, are you okay?" Aviel shouted out, but was drowned out by the Rito.
"Stay back from the Sky Guardian, false priestess!" shouted one Rito angerly.
"I say we arrest her for what she's done to us!" said another.
"You fools, are you short of memory or just stupid?!" shouted Crissile bashing the Rito upside the head, "Did you not see her and her friends protect us from those cultists?"
"Priestess please!" pleaded one of the Rito bowing to her, "Please rid us of the storm dragon!"
"We were wrong to doubt you, please help us!" said one Rito who was also bowing.
"Don't bow to her, she doomed us all!" shouted another.
Aviel looked to the Rito shouting angerly at her, and those bowing to her. She looked up to Roc, then looked over to see her friends fighting against the Geelorokhi. As everyone continued to either argue, scold or praise her, she had enough. Aviel clenched her fists and shouted out,
"SHUT UP YOU DUMB BIRDBRAINS!"
This silenced and stopped everyone in their tracks, as they stared at Aviel, who was huffing and puffing in annoyance.
"Look the truth is, I'm really not the chosen priestess! Believe me, I wanted so much to be the one you all could count on to awaken the Great Fairy..." Aviel said, thinking about her life in Gerudo Town and the way she was treated by her sisters...
"Aviel, you idiot, you knocked it over again!"
"Get out of here, you useless birdbrain!"
"I'm putting you on watch tower duty, the farthest one away from town. I think you'll be better off there."
Aviel spoke out to the crowd, "...since the day I went to live with my fellow Gerudo, no one took me seriously. I was treated like everyone just wanted me out of the way, and I can understand that since I'm such a dummy and a klutz..."
"Aviel..." Pecoli whispered as she stood beside Crissile and Nymnalo.
Aviel continued, "But then Link came into my life, and something I never would had thought happened, I got to become his personal bodyguard, and I felt like I was doing something really important with my life!" she sighed, "...but I kept screwing up at it. The one thing I had the chance to really do, and I could barely even do that properly."
In that moment she thought more about the way some Gerudo would refer to her as even after that, namely the guards she worked with during the caravan trip with Togau.
"Honestly, what was Lady Nabooru thinking appointing her as one of the king's top bodyguards?"
"Yes, Aviel the Birdbrain is more likely to get him killed then anyone."
"When I came here to Dhaijialoft, and had everyone praising me and treating me with respect, I felt really important, like I could be more than what I ever thought I could." Aviel said, "But the reality is I was fooling myself. Rather than trying to improve myself in what I could do, I just allowed everyone to make me feel important... It wasn't what I could do that made you all like me, it was the prophecy."
The Rito all stood in stunned silence at Aviel's words. Nymnalo hung his head down as Crissile looked sadly at her love charm that Aviel gave her blessing to. The Gerudo girl took a breath and she continued.
"You all can call me a chosen one or false priestess or whatever, but that's not who I am! I'm not Grandpa Roc's successor, I'm a Gerudo warrior and the bodyguard to my best friend and fiance Link, and that's just what I want to be!" Aviel shouted at them all, "So right now I'm going to help him stop that dragon like a true friend would!"
With that Aviel unfurled her Roc's Wing, showing off their majestic wing span, as she took off into the air and flew out to take on Geelorokhi. The Rito started talking among each other of what Aviel said, as Roc stood there with his beak agape at Aviel's resolve and determination. He closed his eyes and nodded to himself.
"...wait, did she say 'fiance'?" spoke up Crissile.
Back at the battle, Geelorokhi started to get aggravated by the relentless attacks by Link and his friends. He snarled as he manipulated the lighting in the sky to come down and blast at the group, forcing them to back off.
"Whew... this guy's rough. He's got us out-numbered with all those heads as well." Link said.
"Anyone got a plan?" Nemisa asked, cracking her neck left and right.
"I might, but I need more time to observe this thing..." Korume said.
"Maybe you guys just need another head then!" Aviel proposed, landing down to the ground.
"Aviel, are you sure about this? This dragon's really rough, and there's all that lightning coming down..." Saria said with concern, knowing how much fear dragons and lightning caused her in the past.
Aviel said nothing at first, but just stared up at Geelorokhi, the thunder boomed across the mountain as lightning came down around them. She had to admit there was a part of her that felt a tinge of fear, but she looked to the Rito, then to Link, and she nodded to herself.
"Doesn't matter, we need to protect everyone. Sides, knowing all of you are fighting along with me, I'm not really all that afraid." Aviel said with a confident grin.
Link and the others smiled and nodded, all of them happy to see the Aviel they knew and loved was back and ready to help.
"So... you are the little one that caused me so much trouble all those years ago..." Geeelorokhi spoke leering at Aviel, "You're going to make fine little appetizer before I feast on the Great Fairy of Balance's power."
Geelorokhi's comment was answered by an arrow shooting through the sky and bouncing off his nose, and he glared down at Aviel holding out her crossbow.
"Try us, you big bastard." Aviel said, loading another arrow into it, as the group the charged back into battle against Geelorokhi.
The large dragon started by unleashing all it's heads and trying to bite at the group. Aviel took to the air and bombarded one head with her arrows, while Korume started firing down her ice spears. Volga spread his wings and his spear ignited with fire, before flying at one head and stabbing at it. Saria rolled to the side of one head snapping at her as she tied up it's mouth with vines before smacking it with a Deku Boa attack.
Link went in and started slashing at one head as it tried snapping at him. Nemisa jumped into the air and delivered a flying kick to the head before uppercutting it upwards, giving Link a chance to rush forward and with a powerful swing of his blade, managing to damage the head so much it actually fell right off, causing the long neck to disintegrate from Geelorokhi's body as the head impacted to the ground.
"Graaaah!" shouted Geelorokhi in pain to losing the head from his body, "How dare you!"
"Oh wow, so they just come right off!" Aviel spoke.
"Yes, one down, seven to go." Nemisa said with a grin as she and Link nodded to each other and charged in after Geelorokhi's other heads. Nemisa uppercutted one while Link slashed at another. The dragon snarled and was about to fire more electrical blasts at them but was quickly bombarded by large icicles that Korume fired off. One of the heads actually got frozen in ice from it, giving Korume a chance to kick it around until the neck of it vanished and the head fell to the ground, reducing the dragon's heads down to six.
"Die already, you foul beast." Korume muttered coldly.
Volga lunged down at Geelorokhi's center head with his claws, but another head came at him and butted him away, then fired an electric beam at him. Volga rose up his wings and flapped them with such force he was able to drive back the beam. Geelorokhi looked in shock as Volga landed down and changed back to his human form wielding his flaming spear.
"Kukuku... lovely craftsmanship with that spear, little salamander." Korume commented.
Volga nodded, then ran at the Geelorokhi himself, dodging the blasts it fired off from it's head before bashing into it with his new spear. He breathed fire out from his mouth at one head before spinning the spear overhead and striking the head with it and slicing off one it's horns, before thrusting the spear forward and hitting right into the center of the head's throat, knocking it off and destroying the neck.
"Graaah! But how?" Geelorokhi shouted cringing in pain.
"Guess I'm not so weak after all, am I 'Father'?" Volga said brandishing his spear.
Aviel meanwhile took to the air, dodging the beams the other heads were firing off at her, shooting arrows at them whenever she had an opening. One head lunged up and snapped at her, but she dodged out of the way before firing an arrow between the eyes to stun it. She shot down a barrage of bomb arrows that exploded all over it. This gave Link and Nemisa the chance to strike the neck. The dragon head's eyes turned a blank white before it crashed to the ground and severed from the body as well.
"Nice work Aviel!" Link spoke out.
"You can compliment me after this is over Link!" Aviel grinned, going to firing arrows down at the dragon's remaining heads.
"Hmph, this is getting somewhat annoying..." Geelorokhi spoke, looking down at his severed heads.
"That's probably the most nonchalant reaction to losing one's body parts that I've ever heard." Nemisa spoke sweatdropping.
"Greeheheheh, well that's because I have a little surprise for you all," Geelorokhi grinned, "Behold!"
It was then the eyes of the disembodied heads that the heroes broke off glew a bit eerily, and they all started to levitate up into the air. They took on a strange aura, and roared out in unison as they floated around Geelorokhi.
"What the heck?" Aviel exclaimed, only to fly out of the way of an impact by one of the heads as it came at her.
"Ah, that's right... Gleeoks have the power to manipulative their damaged heads when severed." muttered Korume.
"I call these the Gileps, I have full control over them utilizing my power of flight." Geelorokhi spoke, "It will only be a matter of time before my heads eventually reform with my body. Now do you truly see just how invincible I am?"
"Ugh, that's disturbing." Nemisa spoke seeing the floating heads flying around.
"Greeheheheheh, I've had enough playing with you. It's time I go after the Great Fairy, so that I may finally have her untapped power for myself! I'll leave my Gileps to deal with you."
"We won't let you!" Link shouted, firing his Fairy Bow at Geelorokhi, only for a Gilep to block it by blasting it with a lightning sphere.
"Now, I shall take flight and consume her power!" Geelorokhi shouted, rising up his three intact heads and thrusting his body upwards in order to fly off.
There was a delayed pause, as Geelorokhi seemed to just be standing there. Everyone just stared at the dragon, before looking to each other in confusion. The dragon looked down and saw he was still on the ground, he blinked a few times before attempting to thrust himself upward again.
"...and consume her power!" Geelorokhi repeated, only for nothing to happen.
Everyone continued to look at Geelorokhi blankly as the dragon stood there motionless. He looked down once again, and did a couple hops in some attempt to try and get himself airborne, but again nothing happened.
"What's he trying to do?" Crissile asked sweatdropping.
"Seems as thought he can't fly...?" Nymnalo asked in confusion.
"W-What going on here? Why can't I fly?" Geelorokhi spoke to himself, he looked around at the floating disembodied heads of his, "All I can do is control my Gileps, but not my own body...?"
"That would be because of me." a voice spoke up. They heard a piercing cry, as Roc swooped down with his mighty wings and bashed Geelorokhi in the right side with his beak. The Gileps all floated up and attacked Roc, but he blew them away with mighty flaps of his wings.
"Grandpa!" Aviel spoke in surprise.
"You... damn bird... what the hell did you do?" Geelorokhi growled fiercely.
Roc explained, "It was back then ten years ago, while I was sealing you within the orb. As a precaution if you ever broke free of your imprisonment, I took the majority of your flight power from you."
"What?!" Geeloorkhi exclaimed, recalling what happened the moment Roc sealed him within the orb, "So that must have been the sensation I felt all that time ago... but than where could the power had gone to...?"
The dragon focused for a bit, before he looked up to Aviel who was flying overhead and his eyes widened.
"Wait, my power's within HER?"
"Me?" Aviel asked in confusion, looking left and right in confusion, before looking to her arms, "Oh, my Roc's Wing!"
"...yes, I transferred that power of yours to Aviel, so that she could watch over it." Roc smirked slightly, "The wings I created from my feathers, along with your flight power, allow Aviel to become part bird and fly."
"So that's why the wings wouldn't work for that acrobat lady!" Aviel gasped out in realization.
"You're a strong and kind girl Aviel, I saw that even back when you were just a child. And I knew I could trust you to watch over that power." Roc spoke.
Aviel stared down at Roc in surprise at his words.
"Kukuku... what a neat little trick of you, Sky Guardian..." Korume giggled, "And now the big mighty storm dragon is little more then a pathetic grounded lizard."
"So that's what happened..." Geeloorkhi snarled, "Then I'll consume that feeble girl and take the power back for myself!"
Geeloorkhi sent two of his disembodied heads at Aviel, who attacked her with lightning spheres. Aviel gulped and dodged out of the way of them, but they came biting right at her, forcing Aviel to fly off away from them.
"Aviel!" shouted Roc, only to get bitten by one of the Gilep, forcing him to battle it.
"Get away from her!" Link shouted, firing arrows at the Gileps pursuing Aviel but missing due to them being so high up. He was about to go after them but the group was stuck fighting against Geeloorkhi and the rest of his heads instead.
"Aviel, please stay safe..." Link muttered, as he went into battle.
Aviel took off through the air, avoiding the shots fired at her by the Gileps. She fired back with her normal arrows, but it didn't have much effect. She then looked in the distance and saw on one ledge of the mountain top was a giant mansion she recalled Nymnalo said belonged to the pompous Rito nobleman Mr. 'Balsac', which to everyone else was Mr Barrank.
"I'll lose them in there!" Aviel said, flying in through an open balcony window as the heads flew right in after her. She swooped through the hallways of the estate trying to find a hiding place, but the Gileps remained in hot pursuit, firing lightning spheres at her which she dodged, and they blasted into the interior of the mansion.
Aviel managed to evade the Gileps at one point by quickly turning and going into a particularly long hallway. The two heads came to a halt only to collide into each other, giving Aviel some space to escape. She was about to find a room to hide in when she noticed a certain someone laying on the ground at the end of the hall, and saw with alarm that he was slowly losing blood.
"Mr. Balsac?!" Aviel exclaimed, flying down to him and seeing his condition over, "Just what happened to you?"
"P-Priestess...?" Barrank groaned weakly, "You're alive...?"
"Never mind the priestess stuff, we gotta get you outta here!" Aviel said, tearing off a piece of fabric from the bottom of her robe and wrapping it around Barrank's stab wound in order to hold back any further bleeding, but then the two dragon heads blasted into the hall and came at the two.
"Wha- is that the Geeloorkhi's- ?!" Barrank exclaimed, only to suddenly be picked up by his shoulders with her talons and flown out of the hall, as the Gileps went after them in pursuit, "Brwacck!"
"Hang on Mr. Balsac!" Aviel shouted, dodging left and right as the lightning spheres came at them.
"I don't understand..." Barrank spoke, "Why are you helping me, after everything I've done to you?"
"You're in trouble, do I really need another reason?" Aviel asked.
Barrank looked up to her in stunned silence, hanging down his head in guilt of everything he had put her through. Then out of the corner of his eye he saw one of the Gileps lunging at the two, and he narrowed her eyes angerly.
"Ms. Priestess, turn about face quickly!" Barrank shouted, Aviel was confused, but went along with it, only to see one of the dragon heads coming right at them. Barrank brought up his leg and swung it, impacting it directly into the right side of the Gilep, sending it down on top of the other head, and they went crashing down to the ground.
"Kwaahahaha! Take that!" Barrank laughed out.
"Nice one!" grinned Aviel, before turning back around and flying off once again.
Back in the mainland; Link, Roc and the others were battling against Geelorokhi, who was growing more and more irritated. It was bad enough that these mortals were fighting so well against him, but he was also focused on trying to pinpoint where Aviel was so he could get his full flight power back.
"That damn girl... so she hid out in that place did she...?" Geeloorkhi muttered, able to see what was going on in the mansion through the eyes of his two floating heads. As the sky guardian Roc came at him with another attack, Geeloorkhi blasted him and everyone back with a lightning strike from above, then turned towards the mansion with his three other Gileps, "Then I'll simply destroy her within it!"
All six of Geeloorkhi's heads started to charge up a unison attack, aiming it directly at the mansion, then firing it off. Everyone looked in shock as the beam shot through the sky and blasted into the side of the cliff the mansion was on, causing it to start to crumble.
"Aviel!" Link exclaimed, running up and jamming his sword into the dragon's right side, causing the monster to roar out in pain before he could even attempt to fire another blast at the mansion.
The rocks that made up the cliffside crumbled from the dragon's attacks, and the mansion fell off the side into the mountains below. But just before it fell two figures could be seen shooting out from it. Everyone looked in astonishment to see Aviel flying down into the area with Barrank in her talon's clutches.
"Aviel's okay!" Saria exclaimed with relief.
"She seems to have brought that insufferable ostrich though..." Korume pointed out.
Aviel flew high through the air with Barrank in tow, the Rito nobleman taking that moment to stare out at the world around them from the sky, and the feeling of the wind blowing against him. It almost like the flightless bird really could fly in that moment.
The young Gerudo landed down to the ground and laid Barrank on his back as the others all came up to them.
"Mr. Barrank, are you okay, piou?" Nymnalo exclaimed.
"I suppose I am now... thanks to the priestess... kwaa..." Barrank groaned.
"Oh you poor man!" Crissile exclaimed, "Let me take a look at that wound, I have some nursing experience!"
"Uh, t-thank you..." muttered Barrank, feeling more guilt with each act of kindness Aviel and the people gave him.
"You okay Aviel?" Link asked, running up to her.
"Yep, we escaped out a small window that those two dragon heads couldn't get out from, bet they got buried in the place!" she nodded.
"Grrrr... damnit..." Geelorokhi muttered. Aviel had been right in her guess, as his plan to kill her backfired and destroyed two of his Gilep heads in the process, "It'll take too much time for those heads to regenerate. No matter, it's time to destroy all of you!"
Geelorokhi roared out as the clouds rumbled and lightning came down around them, forcing the heroes all to keep their distance.
"This guy's a lot tougher then any monster we've faced." Link muttered, "He's got to have some kind of weakness."
"Aside from that sealing orb, I've never seen him to have one." Roc spoke.
"Seen him..." Korume muttered, as an idea occurred to her, "Listen my husband... Have you noticed something odd about this dragon's reactions?"
"How do you mean?" Link asked, swinging his sword to back off one of the dragon's heads.
"I mean how whenever we strike from the left, he's very quick to counter, but if we attack from the right, his reaction time is much slower..." Korume spoke.
"Now that you mention it, that is kind of weird." Saria said, swinging out some Deku Seeds to stun one of the heads before it could attack Volga, "Do you think it's just because he's blind in his center head's eye?"
"Yes, but that doesn't take into account the other heads, even the disembodied ones are reacting like that..." Korume observed as Roc attacked a Gilep from the right and slashed it down to the ground with his talons.
"I noticed that too back at the mansion!" Aviel commented, "One of the heads got kicked by Mr. Balsac from the right before it could even react!"
Nemisa did a flying kick to knock away one of the Gileps before leaping backwards to avoid a lightning blast from it, "So what are you getting at Korume? Make it quick!"
"What I'm getting at is you all are too slow." Korume quipped sarcastically, "No, I believe the center head is his 'main' head as it were, and all the other heads react to whatever happens to it the same way."
"What...?" Link exclaimed, "So you're saying all the heads think they're blind in the right eye then?"
"Yes, I believe the only brain of this monster is within the center head, and whatever pain or injury occurs to it, the other heads react as if they were affected the same way." Korume spoke, "And the other heads as a result are little more then glorified limbs."
"So... what you're saying is if we take out the center head, then the whole thing will go down!" Saria exclaimed.
"That's correct." Korume nodded.
"Alright then, everyone focus on attacks from the right." Link said, "Let's go!"
With that, the seven of them went into battle against Geelorokhi and his Gilep heads. Nemisa flipped through he air to avoid a bite by one head before landing to it's right and punching it square in the jaw. Aviel took to the sky, bombarding one Gilep head with her arrows, giving Roc the chance to knock it away. Volga breathed fire out at one head, it was shot through by an electric beam, but he spread his dragon wings and leaped into the air, bringing down his pear and striking the Gilep in the forehead to knock it down. Korume delivered a swift kick to the head of the dragon, it came at her with it's teeth but the ice mystic countered by summoning an ice block and shoving into the head's mouth, before she stomped down on it with her jagged icy legs.
Geelorokhi staggered back, growling at the group. He charged up all six of his heads to unleash an electrical blast, but Link brought up the Quake Medallion and slammed it to the ground, causing the ground the dragon was standing on to be shaken up and throw off his charging. Even the floating Gilep heads were stunned by it, proving Korume's point. He then sprinted up and slashed the center head with his sword, making the dragon and all it's heads shout out in pain.
"I can't believe it, they're winning against the Geelorokhi?" a Rito exclaimed in shock.
"How impressive, piou-piou!" Mayor Nymnalo said.
"This... can't be happening..." Geelorokhi roared out, "Me, losing to these mortals?"
As the group rushed at him for another attack, the dragon's eye gleamed, as he let out another powerful roar, sending lightning bolts down everywhere. Link quickly evaded each bolt as it came down, sidestepped and rolling out of the way before they could hit him. He then ran right up and impaled Geelorokhi in his chest making the dragon shout out in pain again.
But this time the dragon grinned knowingly and summoned down a lightning bolt on himself, releasing electricity through his body and zapped Link through his sword.
"Gaaaahhh!" Link shouted as the voltage surged through him, before the dragon swung out his tail and bashed Link, sending him flying high into the air.
The dragon cringed from the pain of the injury the sword had given him, but at least he had taken out his greatest threat at that moment. He glared over at Roc, Nemisa, Saria and Korume who all stood ready to fight back, but something seemed off...
"Wait... where's that little flying child pest...?" Geelorokhi muttered.
"Hey you!" shouted a familiar voice, as the dragon looked up to see Aviel was flying overhead with her Roc's Wings, holding Link with her talons. She had caught him in midair and now the two were soaring through the sky.
"This is for everyone, you big stupid dragon!" Aviel shouted, as she flew down at the dragon with blinding speed.
"Damn you... JUST DIE ALREADY!" Geelorokhi shouted, sending his disembodied heads at the two of them.
"Let's do this Link!" Aviel shouted.
"I'm ready Aviel!" Link said drawing his sword.
The two swooped down, as each of the three Gileps tried to impact into them to knock them out of the air, Link brandished his sword and shield, slashing and blocking each of the three heads as they came at them. Aviel used her keen eye to dodge through the attacks while Link stayed on offense.
As they got closer, Geelorokhi tried to halt their attack by casting down lightning bolts. Aviel swooped around with Link in tow, dodging each bolt that came down at them. One bolt came down that she couldn't quite avoid, but Link was able to deflect it away with his shield.
"Alright Link, go for it!"
With that, Aviel brought back her legs and hurled Link straight down at Geelorokhi, he took and aimed his Quake Medallion at the center head as he flew down.
Geelorokhi was going to bring down a lightning bolt down on them, but Roc lunged forward and bashed the dragon in the chest where Link stabbed him before, making the dragon roar out. Aviel took that chance to fire an arrow, sending it whizzing past Link and sunk right into Geelorokhi's left eye, causing him to roar out in pain, just as Link came straight down and slammed the medallion right onto Geelorokhi's forehead, causing a powerful shockwave through his body.
"Graaaah!" Geelorokhi roared out from the seismic force surging through him. Before the dragon could even try to react, Link then brought up his sword and stabbed it down into the same place he impacted on.
The storm dragon paused from the intense pain coming from his head in that moment, before Link forcefully yanked out the blade and swung it down, slashing the monster across his face one last time as he landed to the ground.
Geelorokhi roared out once more in pain as the three floating heads all roared out as well, lightning struck down all around him as he convulsed and thrashed around, before they all impacted to the ground, and then the dragon himself finally collapsed to the ground motionless.
The dragon weakly looked to his Gileps, he could barely even see or move anymore, but he watched helplessly as his disembodied heads all disintegrated around him, as he felt his own body starting to break down.
"So in the end, the Roc and his little friend won..." muttered Geelorokhi, "Even my weak son triumphed over me..."
He took one final look at Link, though what remained of his eyesight was faded, he watched as the Hylian spun his sword in his hand and sheathed it.
"And that boy... the Order was right about the power he holds... I was wrong to underestimate him... greeheheheh..."
With that, the mighty storm dragon Geelorokhi slowly closed his eyes and evaporated into purple mist.
"We... did it..." Aviel gasped out, looking down at the spot where Geelorokhi once laid. Her wings grew weak from the battle, as her arms changed back to normal, and she went falling down to earth.
Before she could hit the floor though, she was caught safely in Link's arms. She looked up weakly to her friend as he held her closely.
"Link..." she whispered happily, enjoying the feeling of being held in his strong arms.
"Aviel, you did great." Link spoke, giving her a warm, compassionate smile.
"We all did..." Aviel said blissfully, as Link leaned down and gave her a good firm kiss on the lips.
This of course came off as a surprise to everyone, especially Nemisa, Saria, Korume and Roc, as they watched Aviel put her arms around Link's neck and raise one of her legs into the air out of enjoyment of the kiss.
"Well, well, looks like our family is now plus one birdbrain." Korume giggled.
"Yes, seems like something happened between them while they were missing after all." Nemisa said with a smirk.
"I'm so happy for her!" Saria said cheerfully, "I just knew they'd be honest with each other soon enough!"
"Then it's over..." spoke Mayor Nymnalo in awe, "The Geelorokhi is done for, and our Sky Guardian has returned to us!"
"Three cheers for our heroes!" shouted Crissile.
The whole crowd of Rito all shouted out in happiness, as many thanks and cheers went to Aviel, Link and their friends. Even Volga found himself surprisingly getting thanked despite his involvement in causing everything.
Roc settled down and sighed out, relieved that his ten year war against Geelorokhi was finally over, "It was all thanks to Aviel and her friends..." he spoke softly.
"So... did I do right after all Ms. Korume?" Volga asked the ice mystic.
"Kukuku, of course you did little salamander." Korume said with a nod.
"Oh... then..." Vogla looked down at his hand, and then rose it up to her with an open palm, "High four!"
Korume paused in confusion of Volga's hand gesture at first, but then smiled at the realization of what he was trying to do, "I think you mean a high five, Volga."
"Oh yeah." Volga realized, as Korume slapped his hand for a high five of her own.
"Aviel you were amazing!" Pecoli said hugging Aviel tightly, "Forget being a priestess, you're a real hero to everyone!"
"Thanks Pecoli!" Aviel grinned as she hugged the bird back.
Meanwhile, sitting against a building was Tonashi, having regained consciousness but too weak from his battle with Nemisa to move anymore. He had just woken to see Aviel and Link deliver the final blow to the dragon. He watched from a distance as Aviel and Pecoli hugged.
"Amazing, she actually pulled it off... she was Pecoli's protector after all..." he chuckled lightly.
As everyone celebrated the fall of Geelorokhi and the town being safe, a small trio of shady figures slowly limped away. It was the Order of Reyahm chaplain Iktiakh, his associate Jianya and the muscle of their group Omaldak. They had recovered and had managed to get away during the battle against the dragon. Iktiakh's monocle was chipped and his robe was torn from the battle. He narrowed his eyes coldly as he gazed out at the celebrating people.
"Damnit, I can't believe it... we were defeated, and the Geelorokhi was completely destroyed..." Chaplain Iktiakh scowled, "This wasn't supposed to happen..."
"Yes, it seems your plan to capture Geelorokhi within the orb after he took on his true form failed..." Jianya sighed leaning her hand against a wall as she took a look over at Aviel, "We greatly underestimated those young warriors..."
"Don't compliment them Jianya, that's not like you." Iktiakh said.
"...perhaps you're right about that." Jianya muttered, looking back one last time.
"The boy and the dragon completely overwhelmed my brilliant techniques." moped Omaldak, "I need to go back into another two decades for training for this failure..."
"No need for that Omaldak. For now we need to find another source of power for our storm god..." Iktiakh muttered, flipping through pages of a book as they moved.
"The power that dragon held was rather fascinating wasn't it?" spoke up a voice.
Chaplain Iktiakh, Jianya and Omaldak turned to see an orange feathered Rito standing before them, smirking lightly.
"And just who are you?" Omaldak spoke, ready to crush the man should he try anything.
"Just someone who was watching everything, and has an interest in your group." the bird simply spoke.
Iktiakh paused staring at the bird person, as he reached into his coat and pulled out a small statuette of a dragon, the same one he had been using back at the Goron Hot Springs. He aimed it at the Rito and saw the glow in the statue's eyes, and his own eyes widened in shock.
"I see... then we have much to discuss..." Iktiakh spoke with a slight smirk of his own.
"Come along then, you three need to heal up, but we should probably leave town to talk about this further." the Rito nodded, as the three went off together, "I know a good rest stop at the foot of the mountains, they even have spa treatment there."
"Good, I could use a nice bath." Jianya sighed out.
"Shall I wash your back for you, Lady Jianya?" Omaldak asked.
"Eh... I think I'm fine by myself." Jianya said sweatdropping.
"But wouldn't it be more efficient that way?" Omaldak asked in genuine confusion.
"Ugh, you're so clueless!" Jianya shouted in annoyance as she stomped off, leaving Omaldak baffled.
As they left, Iktiakh stopped in his tracks for a second, as he looked over at the victorious heroes.
"I swear, the Gerudo people will pay for this someday..."
He took one last look at Link who was laughing nervously as he was being smothered with affection by some of the female Rito, much to the protest of Nemisa.
"And that boy, he shall awaken to his true destiny soon enough..." he smirked wickedly, as a dark idea started to form in his head...
