Rebel Without A Teddy Bear

"Alright, time for your nap," Didi said to Tommy and Chuckie. "Now- ew." She looked at Tommy's lion and pinched it with her thumb and forefinger, lifting it up.

Tommy began to fuss. He'd wanted to show Chuckie Henry but mommy was taking him away! He sat up and reached for the toy.

"Sorry but you need a nap. I'll take Herman with me." Tommy threw back his head and cried when it became clear that she wasn't going to give back the stuffed lion. But Didi was unmoved, simply taking Henry away.

"It's not fair! Why do my toys always get taken away!?" Tommy complained.

"Tommy, they don't always get taken away."

"Yes they do! I'm a good baby and this is what I get? Well… I'm done being a good baby!" He snapped. "I'm going to be bad till I get Henry back!"

Later on Stu took them downstairs to play. Tommy, ready to show his parents he was done being good, ran to the bookcase.

"Tommy stop!" Chuckie pleaded.

"NO! I'm tired of'em pushing me around! Now, are ya with me?" Chuckie shook his head and Tommy glared at him before he grabbed a book and tore some pages out.

"Tommy no!" Stu exclaimed, grabbing Tommy. "You can't rip up books!" Tommy settled down and Stu, thinking he was calm, set him down… only for Tommy to instantly run over to a lamp and try and knock it over. It was only Stu hurrying over that saved it. Seeing this Tommy began to kick and scream, batting at everything.

"Stu?" Didi said, walking into the room only to gasp at Tommy having a fit. "What happened?"

"He's having a tantrum. Wants to destroy everything."

"Oh dear," Didi said and Tommy opened his eyes… and gasped when he saw her holding Henry! And he was so clean! Tommy instantly reached for him but Stu grabbed him while Didi sighed. "I was going to give Herman back but I'm afraid he'd begin tearing him apart."

"Yeah, better hold onto it for now," Stu said. "And someone needs a time out." With that Stu carried Tommy upstairs, Chuckie following after, Stu not noticing.

Once he was gone Tommy gripped the crib. "Chuckie! You have to let me out! I have to get Henry."

But Chuckie just stared at his friend, upset. "…no."

Tommy swallowed at that, shocked. "But Chuckie-"

"No!" his friend snapped. "I told you to be good and you yelled at me so… so… you can be in time out like all bad babies! I'm not friends with bad babies!"

With that Chuckie ran away, sniffing back tears. Tommy sat down and swallowed, finally seeing things clearly. Mommy had washed Henry. Chuckie had just wanted to help…

…now mommy and daddy thought he was bad and Chuckie was mad at him and he didn't even have Henry…

Tommy cried, wishing he'd just been good.

"I'm sorry, mommy. I'm sorry, Chuckie. I'm sorry, Henry…"
