King Ten Pin

"Be careful with Tommy," Didi said, setting him down in the bowling alley's nursery. "He's at that stage where he likes to escape and explore."

"Don't worry, ma'am, I'll keep an eye on him."

The moment his mommy was away Tommy instantly stood up. "Come on guys, let's go find that giant champ chip!" But his friends just kept staring at the Dummi Bears, forcing Tommy to finally shake them till they snapped out of it. "Let's go!"

But as Tommy got to the gate the daycare monitor instantly grabbed him and turned him away. "Sorry little guy, but your mom wants you to stay here."

Tommy glowered at that before looking around. Spotting some toys he grabbed large stuff bunny and used it as a disguise… only for the worker to grab him AGAIN.

"This isn't working!" Tommy complained. "Chuckie… you have to cry and distract her."

"I what?"

"Cry and distract her! Then I can get outside and find the chip!"

"What about me though?" Chuckie complained. "I'll be stuck in here!"

"I'll bring the chip back, Chuckie, I promise."

His friend though shook his head. "No Tommy. We aren't supposed to leave. You're mommy wants you to stay here."

"She's just a mommy, Chuckie, she doesn't know what is best for me."

Chuckie glowered at that. "Okay… YOU cry."

"What?"

"You cry and let me and Phil and Lil go find the chip."

"Why would we do that?" Tommy said, confused.

"Well… we're older and bigger than you. And can walk faster. You can't keep up. And you can cry louder."

"I don't know, Chuckie," Tommy said. "I think it's better if you cry-"

"Because you just want to leave! If this was about all of us getting the chip you'd cry and let us go." He pointed his finger at Tommy. "We tell you we don't want to do something but you never listen. Well… I'm not helping you! I'm staying here."

"But Chuckie-" Tommy insisted, hoping he could convince his friend to help. He didn't want stay in the nursery, he wanted to explore!

Chuckie though suddenly grabbed him and turned him towards the screen, shutting his own eyes while holding Tommy in place.

"Chuckie, what are you doing?!" Tommy pleaded.

"It's for your own good!" Chuckie told him sternly.

"No… please… I…" Tommy began lose track of what he was saying. "I… just… wanna… sing… a happy… happy… song…"

Chuckie, Phil, and Lil, satisfied, walked over to play with some blocks, Tommy standing there numbly watching the screen.

Meanwhile the tournament had come to a standstill because the bowling alley workers had found a man, Ed, hiding in the back with an airgun and unknockable pins. Because that, and Ed's confession, Lou's opponent Billy Maxwell was instantly disqualified, meaning that the babies were picked up after only five minutes, Lou declared the winner by default.

"Who cares so much about a local bowling tournament?" Drew muttered, Stu nodding in agreement.
