Driving Miss Angelica
Angelica glared at the babies as they played some stupid silly baby game in the yard.
She hated seeing them have fun.
But rather than walk over and begin messing with them Angelica took a breath before turning back to Cynthia. She and Dr. Jasper had talked about this, how it bugged her when she saw her cousin and his friends just playing and how her first reaction was always to ruin that. To take away their toys or pick on them… it wasn't right.
But it still bugged her.
She was a big girl and she was tired of her family forcing her to always hang out with the babies. She tried to be nice to them but they were always bugging her, asking questions, and messing things up. They would poop and drool and not listen to her and cry and… and she was sick of it and-
"Hi!"
Angelica started, looking up to see a girl around her age standing before her.
"Uh… hi?" she said, surprised and confused.
"I'm Susie! My family and I moved in a few weeks ago down the street."
"I'm Angelica. This is my Uncle Stu's house."
"Oh, you're Tommy's cousin! I've heard about you." She grinned and pulled out a doll she'd brought with her. "Wanna play?"
"…yeah!" Angelica said excitedly.
Tommy looked over at Angelica and Susie. "Hey guys, look! Its Susie! Wanna see if she and Angelica wanna play?"
Chuckie though shook his head. "I don't know, Tommy. I think they are busy playing their own game."
"Well… we could play with them instead," Tommy reasoned.
Phil shook his ehad though. "They ain't got no mud over there!"
"Pass!" Lil agreed.
Tommy frowned at that. "But come on guys, it might be fun to play with them… or they could play with us! See, they are building a house for their dollies!" he grabbed his Reptar doll. "Reptar would like a house!"
"Reptar likes to smash hosues, Tommy," lil told him.
"That's just cuss the houses are too small for him!" Tommy got up and began to toddle over to Susie and Angelica, Chuckie finally following after him. "Hey, can we play?"
Angelica opened her mouth to tell him to buzz off but Susie cut him off. "Okay, but you have to be careful. We're building a house for Cynthia and Miss Beth."
"Okay!" Tommy said, setting Reptar down.
A few times Tommy knocked over a few blocks but before Angelica could yell at him Susie would calmly correct him and get Tommy to quickly fix what he'd messed up. And when they got done Susie explained what they would do next and Tommy, realizing that he wasn't interested in that, happily went off to play with Chuckie.
It was only when she was leaving, with a promise to see if she could go to Susie's house at some point, that Angelica realized that she'd just had the best day she'd spent at her Uncle's house.
