A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 Chapter 1

This is so not a way for someone to celebrate their 12th birthday.

At 4 Privet Drive, Harry Potter has been delegated to the outside backyard with his dog Bailey while his deplorable Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin are busy with preparations for guests that will be arriving in the evening for a dinner party. Some rich builder and his wife, the Masons, were coming to dinner and Uncle Vernon was intent on arranging a huge order to be placed from his business for them which is company-made drills.

Currently, Uncle Vernon was out picking out the dinner jackets he'd ordered for both him and Dudley. While the latter and Aunt Petunia were still at home with him lounging around and his mother preoccupied with dinner preparations.

To top it off Uncle Vernon's patience is already thin on its short fuse since Hedwig has been locked up in her cage since the moment they stepped foot in Privet Drive along with all of Harry's things from the wizarding world. The paranoid idiots are sure Harry would send messages day and night resulting in Uncle Vernon placing a firm and unbreakable lock on it. Harry could use his wand to unlock the contraption only he can't use it because it's out of reach along with him not allowed to. So, they're stuck.

Attempting to stay out of the way, doing as he's told Harry is sitting on the garden bench with Bailey laying down at his feet.

Slumping down on the garden bench, bitter and depressed, under his breath, Harry sang "Happy birthday to me…happy birthday to me…"

Bailey lifts her head from its position on her crossed paws, staring up at him with sad eyes and releasing a small whine. She licks his hand to offer some comfort and he absentmindedly scratches her head, but these gestures do little to ease both of their stress. For Harry, it's the fact no one has mentioned it's his birthday and he hasn't gotten a letter from any of his friends from Hogwarts since summer began. For Bailey it's the fact she's pregnant, heavy with puppy, and what Uncle Vernon has threatened to do to the pups once they're born if she goes into labor before they return to school.

Once they were out of the veterinary clinic and away from any prying eyes the old fart made his plans clear that there was no way in hell Harry would be keeping any of the whelps. That Harry better pray Bailey didn't give birth while the two were still at Privet Drive or else he'd take the puppies to a kill shelter guaranteeing Bailey's baby's deaths or drowning them in the river.

As a new mother, feeling the precious lives growing within her beginning to move around in her belly and causing her nurturing instincts and love for them to grow with each day, it's something she utterly dreads.

For Bailey's sake, Harry is counting the days until they get to depart this awful place. Which makes him even more anxious for the moment one of his friends invites them to spend the remainder of the summer at their home. Instead he's met with silence and no correspondence.

Things are bleak, but they just have to hold out a little longer and they'll have an entire new year at Hogwarts to enjoy.

Sighing, wrapping Bailey's upper body in his arms as he lightly kisses her head, Harry said "At least I have you, Bailey."

Bailey licks his cheek in consolation.

Suddenly Bailey snaps her head toward the nearby hedge, on the alert.

Sitting bolt upright on the bench, Harry asked "What is it?"

Bailey is locked onto the hedge, not budging from her position. Harry peers in that direction and jolts in alarm.

Two enormous green eyes have appeared among the leaves staring straight at them.

Upon Dudley's untimely arrival, the huge eyes blinked and vanished before Bailey can get to them. Bailey sniffs out the hedge as the boys talk, but whoever was there spying on them is long gone.

Dudley taunts Harry about not having anyone to celebrate his birthday, including the fact that he without a doubt doesn't have any friends to speak of.

In this, Harry is pushed too far.

Losing his cool Harry pretends to do magic at Dudley.

Scared for his life Dudley tattles on Harry to Aunt Petunia.

Aunt Petunia forces Harry to do numerous chores as punishment for taking Dudley's bait with Bailey tagging along to do what she can to assist and make his burden a touch easier despite her own weighing the poor thing down. It's a struggle, but she bears it.

They cleaned the windows, washed the car, mowed the lawn, trimmed flower beds, pruned and watered the roses, spread fresh manure on the flower beds, and repainted the garden bench.

By the time the chores are complete it is half past seven in the evening and the duo is exhausted.

As they go into the kitchen, having responded to Aunt Petunia's frantic call the food for the dinner party is laid out. Pudding and a lion of roast pork sizzling in the oven. Just the smell of it is making her growling stomach beg even more for sustenance.

Given that she'd been working with Harry following the early morning they had with nothing to eat until now this is justified.

But all she is given is a small amount of kibble, consuming it during the time Harry is inhaling the two slices of bread and a minuscule lump of cheese laid out for him.

With one final warning from Uncle Vernon to stay out of the way and basically not exit Harry leads Bailey to their room.

Harry opens the door, Bailey slipping inside first and him closing the door behind them.

Just as they're about to settle on the bed comfortably together until the dinner party is over and done with they're met with a surprise.

The bed is not empty.

Authors Note:

When do you guys think Bailey should give birth to her puppies? At the Weasleys or at Hogwarts on the night they arrive?

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early last morning after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in someway. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads. But when it does I'm definitely pressing the report abuse button.

Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

By the way whose been watching House of the Dragon? I am so in love with Prince Daemon. He is a dream. Matt Smith was the perfect person to play that character.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.

I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
