A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 Chapter 8

Before the group heads up to Gryffindor Tower they eventually decide on some names for Bailey's litter of puppies regardless of whom the father might be.

They'll figure this out later after the puppies get older and their own distinguishable features become more pronounced to the naked eye.

For the three little female pups, their names will be Charmer, Dreamer, and Whisper. For the four males, their designations are Bounder, Ranger, Bold, and Friendly.

A basket is provided for them by Madam Pomfrey in order to transport the litter safely and the three of them depart for the dormitories. Bailey is still a tad sore and tender from the delivery, but thanks to Madam Pomfrey's expertise she can barely feel anything.

Hermione is the only one of them that knows the new year's password so the boys wouldn't have been granted entry anyhow without outside help.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione all presumed that most of the Gryffindor student body would've gone up to their beds to rest at this time of night.

They are totally wrong in this assumption.

No sooner does the fat lady's portrait swing open than a sudden storm of clapping erupts from within. Turns out the whole of Gryffindor Tower is still awake, packed in the circular common room waiting for them to arrive. It appears they'd been willing to wait even past midnight just to talk to them. Harry and Ron are abruptly yanked inside by multiple arms with Hermione and Bailey scrambling in after them to keep from getting stuck outside. Harry had to steady himself, careful not to jostle the puppies too badly in their basket nest.

"Brilliant," yelled Lee Jordan. "Inspired! What an entrance! Flying a car right into the Whomping Willow, people will be talking about that one for years!"

"Good for you," said a fifth year, patting Harry in congratulations on the back.

Pushing their way to the front of the crowd, together in unison, Fred and George said "Why couldn't we have come in the car, eh?"

Through it all people that recognized Bailey pet the red retriever on the head and gave strokes over her back in greeting.

Then, right out of the crowd, the inevitable occurred.

"PUPPIES!"

The excited squeal emitted from one of the little first years can be heard reaching all parts of the common room.

At last other people are taking notice of the precious bundle Harry is holding.

All eyes are now drawn toward Bailey's babies as even more exclamations of astonishment, delight, and wonder are heard spreading around.

"Aww! They're so cute!"

"Look at their little faces!"

"I didn't know Bailey was pregnant! You never told us, Harry."

"How many boys and how many girls?"

"Can I hold one?!"

"What are their names?"

"Is Bailey, okay?"

Too many voices speaking at once.

In a rare bought of seriousness, Fred and George take charge.

Bringing his fingers to his lips Fred releases a sharp whistle that garners everyone's attention.

George shouted "Quiet!"

The tactic works. Every single person that was talking shut right up.

Continuing, George said "That's enough of that. Harry here can't answer any of your questions if you don't give him a chance to breathe. Go ahead, Harry."

Nodding toward them in outright gratitude, Harry said "Thanks, guys. First off, I didn't know Bailey was pregnant until I left Hogwarts. Second, Bailey is doing just fine now. The landing into Hogwarts was rough and forced her into labor but she made it through it alright. Third, there are seven puppies in all. Two girls and five boys. Their names are Charmer, Dreamer, Bounder, Bold, Friendly, and Plucky. And no, I don't think it's a good idea for anyone to hold them right now. They're far too delicate and I don't think Bailey is up for letting this happen right now tonight."

There are groans of disappointment at that, especially from the girls.

During the commotion Harry spots Percy struggling to make his way toward them, an unhappy and irritated scowl lining his face. More than likely fully intend to tell them off for what they did.

Not feeling like getting lectured by a scornful Percy, Harry, and Ron make a hasty retreat to the 2nd year boys' dormitory.

Here they are met up with the other Gryffindor boys in their year.

"Unbelievable," beamed Seamus.

"Cool," commented Dean.

"Amazing," breathed Neville, awestruck.

Harry and Ron exchange massive grins.

The moment Harry sets the basket down beside his bed Bailey curls around her babies, providing them her warmth and protection, wrapping her bushy tail around them as the large family settles in for the evening.

Tomorrow is a brand new day.

And Harry has no idea how he's going to convince the teachers to let him bring the puppies to classes with him.

Happy 4th of July!

Sorry for this one being shorter than the rest. I'd fully intended for this to be part of the last one, but I couldn't figure out what the puppies names should be at the time.

Any ideas on what Harry should say or do to convince the teachers to let him bring the puppies to classes or should they stay in Gryffindor Tower and have Bailey go in to check on them in between?

For those of you that figure out what show I got the names for the puppies from will get a question of their choice answered about the plotline.

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of days ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in someway. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.

I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.
