Chapter 21: Arrival

Note: There is a port town called Brake in Germany from what I looked up so I'll put them there. I apologize if the town isn't described completely accurately, I mean no offense. Sweeney will use a different name since the ones chasing them don't know the other's name. I'll start with Lovett and Robert having finished repairs.

(Mrs Lovett's POV.) The last several months me and Robert worked hard on repairing the emporium. I even helped do some heavy lifting, at least what I could handle, and I definitely felt stronger. I still need to be ready just in case Todd ever came back. Robert was serious about us getting my home repaired. I had to buy more baking supplies as well as a new bed.

After a long time my home was repaired. "There it's like It was never demolished" Robert said. "He really did a bit of damage to my home didn't he?" "We had to replace some of the walls, Nellie, so I'd have to agree." He walked over to me and put his arms around me. "He would be a fool to risk returning here after being forced to flee.

"He is a single minded, strong willed man. Let's not let our guards down Robert." "Between the two of us he'd be doomed if he tried Nellie." "You have been helping me with self defense Robert, so thank you." "Of course my love, I don't want you to ever be in danger again." He kissed my lips gently.

"You are an amazing, loving man Robert, and I love you more than I've ever loved anyone." "And you are an amazing incredible woman and I never loved anyone as much as I love you." "I think next week Mrs Lovett's Pie Emporium needs a grand reopening" I chuckled. "Unfortunately I need to get to work my love" Robert told me. "I sighed sadly." I know your job isn't always safe, please be careful Robert."

"I better go my love, before Daniel left he told us that the honorable Judge Turpin was dead, and because of this until a new judge is elected criminals are getting bold." "Yes I know, all of London is shocked." Mr Todd finally had his revenge, at least the catalyst to all this is dead, but I hope Todd gets caught and hung for this, for Toby. I still want to kill him myself but I need to take what I can get. "I really gotta go now Nellie." "I'll have a nice warm pie waiting for you tonight when you get home."

"Love your pies Nellie I can't wait." For real this time he walked out the door to patrol the streets of London. I smiled at him until he left. Despite my intense dislike of doing so I couldn't help but think where Sweeney and the others were doing right now. I sighed and sat down at my kitchen table. (Sweeney's POV.)

So we had finally arrived in Germany. I still didn't know how I felt about this. For one while it was not the hellhole that was London, it was still filled with those below and those on high. The people here also deserved to die, as the people everywhere deserve to die. I still could feel a blood lust burning in me and it was hard to ignore. Having my wife and daughter back did not cure my desire to kill.

I heard a knock on my door. "I walked over and opened the door again. I rolled my eyes as I saw Anthony. "Are you not going to leave Mr Todd?" "Yes Anthony I am coming." "Good Brake is a nice place and there is a hotel we could stay at."

I sighed, but nodded to the sailor. I decided it was time for me to leave. That said, I absolutely despise being surrounded by vermin and people who need relief. Glowering at him I walked off the boat onto the docs. Johanna walked over and hugged me. "I'm glad you came out father."

I looked over to see Lucy looking into the water. She walked over to Anthony quickly and grabbed his arm. "Yes ma'am?" he asked gently. "The fish in the water, there are so many." "Yes there tends to be." "Do you know where the hotel is?" Johanna asked Anthony.

"We will have to head into the center of town. It's not a massive town so we should be able to walk with the luggage of clothes we have." "Once we get there we really need to figure out how to establish ourselves" Johanna said. Anthony, more than likely having been here before being a sailor, led us toward the center of Brake. I growled to myself as I saw people laughing, and being happy. I saw families with their children.

Things like happy families felt like the world was mocking me, but as I looked over and Johanna and Lucy I felt a little better. My family was still somewhat broken, but I would not give up in trying to help Lucy truly remember us. The hotel was not large, but it was enough to house us. "Here we are," Anthony said. We entered the hotel, and it was in fact quite a small lobby. Anthony walked us to the front counter.

"Hello sir," Johanna said. The man at the counter gestured to someone else. "I'm here to talk in his place since he can't speak english" The man said. "Do you have enough room to house four people?" Anthony asked. "We'll have to separate you into two different two bedroom rooms, but we have the space yes." He motioned to someone else who had room keys.

"Follow me please." He led us to the top floor and gave me and Anthony keys. He bid us goodbye and left down the stairs. "Let's all go into the first door so we can talk privately" I said. The room was not that big, having two beds near the wall, and they both had nightstands near them both. Lucy went over and sat on the bed.

"How do you like it Lucy?" I asked. "It's nice and soft Mr Todd." "So I won't be sailing for a while." "I can sew as I said before, maybe we can move on in a few days and find a place that needs a seamstress," Johanna said. "I need to change my name again just in case they chase after us," I said. "What are you going to call yourself then sir?" Anthony asked.

I thought about it for a minute. I had to come up with something that could not make it easy to figure out who I am. "Mason Marcus" said trying to come up with an odd name. "I like the name Mr Marcus," Lucy said. "Now there is just the answer of how I'll go about working. Barbering will be too risky, as I must distance myself from Benjamin Barker as much as I can now."

Anthony and Johanna looked at each other. "I can carry heavy things, I had to in Botany Bay. I haven't done it in a while. Maybe I can do something similar enough that I could do it, and still not bring attention if we were followed." "You could help at the docks," Anthony suggested. "If I am followed, that makes me easy to find" I countered.

"Are you sure we are?" he asked. "Life will never be without problems Anthony, you need to learn this before it is too late for you." "Once we leave to a new place after figuring out where to go, we will probably have a better time finding work for you." "Well spend the night here and find out where to go tomorrow" I declared. "You and Lucy can have this room, and me and Johanna will take the other." "Like hell" I growled.

"Father, we won't do anything OK I promise. We'll change clothes in the washroom separately and stay in separate beds." I walked over to Anthony and leaned to his ear. "You do anything before you make her your wife, and you are a dead man Hope" I whispered. I heard him gulp. So he and Johanna went to the next door room.

"Did you say Benjamin Barker?" I spun around to face Lucy. "That name sounds familiar and I don't know why. I feel like I knew a man with that name, but I can't remember." "I will help you remember him," I promised. I wished I could tell her everything, but I understood that I had to handle this gently and help her memory little by little at a time, so as to not overwhelm her.

Note: Next chapter they will find out about a place where they can move to and begin their new lives. Lucy will start sleepwalking which causes some problems. Daniel is also going to have a problem that will slow him down some. Yes, the seeds that will help Lucy's mind are being planted now.
