Chapter 25: Building Home

Note: So here it is, the construction of the house begins while Sweeney and Johanna talk about work. Then we'll see how Lovett and Robert have been doing. Also maybe something a little more will happen. So first Sweeney's pov, Then Lovett's. So let's get the show on the road. Why don't we?

(Sweeney's POV.) Me and Johanna have been working hard since we had finally bought the land. Now we needed to hire a carpenter of some kind. We also needed to figure out how big we needed the house to be and what it would look like. "We need to decide how tall the home will need to be," Anthony said. "It should be a two story home, the living room and kitchen being on the bottom floor, with a bathroom and study included, and four bedrooms on the top floor so no one has to sleep together," Johanna suggested.

"So you and Hope don't share a room" I growled. "Don't worry sir," The sailor said reassuringly. I narrowed my eyes at him and he chuckled nervously. The carpenter arrived soon after my glare towards Anthony. "So me and my crew are here, so I need to make sure you people hired me. "Yes," I told him.

We had told him how big we wanted the house and how we wanted it built. "Could take about a month and a half to get all of that built" he told us. "Keep us updated on the progress of our home, and we will pay you after you're finished, as we agreed" I told him. "Consider it a deal" the carpenter said. The carpenter turned to his men. "All right boys you heard the man, let's get to work.

"Let's go back to the hotel," I told them. Anthony and Johanna nodded. I walked over to Lucy who was staring off into space. I reached out and grabbed her hand. "Are we going home sir?" she asked. "Yes."

With proper food and care, Lucy had recovered greatly from how she was when I learned she still lived. The wound on her forehead had healed generally, and she looked like an older version of how she should have looked when she returned. Yes her beauty was once again breathtaking, but that was not why I was glad about how she recovered. I was glad that she was happy again, had real clothes, and most importantly was healthy and safe once more. We headed back to the hotel once more. Once we arrived Johanna decided to talk about her day at work.

"Madam Lange is a nice woman, and she really liked how well I can sow. Her customers appear to be a decent lot. Sometimes she gives me a little extra money even when I didn't really earn it. She also lets me have a lunch break halfway through my work time." "I'm glad you are happy in that job," Anthony told her. "It sounds like a lovely job," Lucy said. It is quite nice.

Yesterday I finished an important dress from a wealthy woman at the hotel, and I was given three days off." "I'm glad you like working there," I said. "Yes father, it is quite lovely." "What's it like at the quarry?" Anthony asked. "Thankfully the men keep to themselves. Though they seemed to doubt I could handle the job at first, because I am not the biggest, strongest man.

But I did a lot of hard labor at Botany Bay, so I am stronger than I look, as my boss told me. He was impressed enough I could keep up with the other men that he accepted me on the job permanently. The other men seemed to respect me after that. Having to force myself to be nice and cordial to the boss is murder." And not being able to let my razors taste blood was murder to. "Thankfully as I said they tend to ignore me and focus on their jobs, so I can avoid most small talk."

"Well I am glad it suits your tastes Mr Todd," Anthony said. "Yes thankfully" I responded. "This is where we'll be living a little while longer, but I am sure time will seem to fly by," Lucy said. "It's a doable job for me. As I have said before I can't barber, at least not for now." (Mrs Lovett's POV.)

It has been quite some time since Sweeney, Anthony, Johanna, and his precious Lucy had escaped London after Sweeney finally killed the judge. I was glad the vile judge was finally gone. Me and Robert had been simply living our lives since they had left. Thanks to both me and Roberts income I kept my Pie Emporium running at quite the quality. Even without me and Sweeney's human resources, my emporium stayed popular and lucrative. Me and Robert meanwhile had become much closer than we started.

The both of us would find ourselves simply holding each other at times kissing. Sometimes he would come over during the day and at his lunch break and grab a pie. I was closing up shop for tonight as I prepared dinner with Robert who really wanted to talk to me tonight. I was wondering what it was that was so important to talk about. He seemed restless when he told me about this. Just as soon as I had a few pies ready he entered.

"Are you ready for dinner my love, there is something I need to discuss with you." "Yes Robert I am ready to eat," I said motioning to the table filled with a few pies. We both sat down on the table and got ready to eat. "Nellie, I know we have only known each other for over a month or two, and it usually takes more time. But I feel like I love you more than I have ever loved anyone else, so I am going to go for it." Robert stood up and walked over beside me and got on one knee.

"Elanor Lovett, will you marry me?" He pulled out a silver ring with a gemstone on it. "Yes Robert OH YES, I'll marry you." I squealed. I almost tackled Robert and we started making out. (Sweeney's POV.)

"Mr Todd, can I talk to you outside?" Lucy said to me. I agreed and we both left the hotel. "There is something I want to tell you but I am nervous about how you will react." I looked at her confused. "You have been good to me in ways no one else ever has. You helped me escape from the streets and brought me a place to stay.

You helped clean me up, and gave me new clothes. I think I am falling in love with you sir. She doesn't remember me, but she is falling in love with me. Maybe courting her again will help me jog her memory. Maybe, maybe sometimes things can work out in this world. I could only hope.

Note: Lucy told Sweeney she is falling for him, and Robert proposed to Lovett. Next chapter will have a time skip where the house is complete as Sweeney and Lucy begin courting with the hope it will help Lucy recover her memory. Sweeney and Lucy are beginning their new life together. And we'll touch back with Daniel soon. The arc with Daniel will end after the arc with Lucy ends.
