Chapter 29: Lucy Is Back

Note: It's time for everyone else to find out Lucy is OK, As well as fluff between Lucy and Sweeney. But let's start out with some Sweeney and Lucy fluff. Then the reveals will happen here too. Anyway it's time to start the chapter, yes. We will see some Johanna POV as well. It's time to begin.

(Sweeney's POV.) We decided to stay up and wait for Johanna and Anthony to wake up. "I can't wait to see Johanna," Lucy said nervously. "I felt the same way when we saved her from Fogg's asylum," I told her. "How am I going to explain to her why I did what I did?" "If it makes you feel better, she does not seem to be too stressed about it," I told her.

"Do not fear my angel, everything will be OK my Lucy." "I hope you are right, Sweeney, I hope you are right." Lucy had taken to my new name right away. We spoke some more as the sun began to rise. "Johanna will be so happy my Lucy, that I promise you. Just then we heard movement, the sound of people walking down the stairs.

"Here they come," Lucy breathed. "I won't leave your side my love, it will all be OK," I reassured. "Morning Mr Todd, Lucy" Johanna said. Anthony waved at both of us. Lucy stood up and I stood up with her. I squeezed her hand tightly as I saw her beginning to shake.

"Johanna?" Lucy asked. Johanna turned and smiled at her. "What is it ma'am?" "You can do this my Lucy." Lucy took a deep shuddering breath. "I am glad to see you again, my daughter."

Johanna stood staring at Lucy stunned. Lucy's breathing hitched at this. She seemed to be scared of Johanna, and what her reaction would be. As if she feared Johanna would reject her. I understood why Lucy had this fear, but I knew she was strong enough to face Johanna, and her fear of rejection. After what felt like an eternity my daughter's eyes began to water.

She rushed to her mother throwing her arms around her causing them both to stumble. Thankfully Lucy braced herself for this in time and neither fell to the ground as I feared they would. Johanna sobbed as she held her mother. "Oh mum, you remembered me," she cried. "I remember most things, I just can't remember what happened that pushed me into making the decision to drink that arsenic. I only remember that Nellie Lovett was the last person I saw before I made the decision to drink it"

I tightened my fist at the sign of that damn baker's name. Someday I would find a way to be able to return to London and kill her. But I had to wait until enough time passed before it would be safe to try to go back to London, so I could go after her. First I needed to be sure we were not being followed, then I needed to wait enough time for things to calm down there, I did kill that damn judge after all. But first I needed to be here, and be with my family again, truly reunited. "I'm just happy you are OK now mum."

"Did that vile judge ever hurt you?" "No, but he kept me in my room like he owned me. He had a peephole where he could look into my room, and he bought me tight corseted dresses to show off a lot of cleavage, probably so he could oogle me." "He is a perverted man, I am glad you have been rescued from him." "I'm glad father and Anthony were able to get me from the asylum. "God bless him, and your father," Lucy cried.

"He was an evil man," I growled. Lucy and Johanna let go of each other and turned to look at me. "But we are safe from him now," Lucy stated. "I don't think he will chase us out of London" Anthony stated. "No he will not," I assured. I still felt it would be unwise to tell Johanna and Lucy about me killing that vile judge, at least for now.

Lucy looked over to Antony and smiled. "I have to thank you too sir, for helping to save my daughter as you did." "I would do anything for Johanna," He said sincerely. "You are a good man," Lucy added. "He is an amazing man," said Johanna. "Johanna, I am so happy for you that she remembers," Anthony said.

"I have to go to work" I said frustrated. "We will be here my love," Lucy told me. "I know you are, at least now." "Bye daddy." I nodded to Johanna and went on my way. I'd rather be home here, not with the vermin out there.

(Johanna's POV.) I could not believe it. It seems my mother has regained most of her mind. I spoke with her for hours before she had to lie down because of a headache. Me and Anthony were sitting on the couch. "Everything is going to be OK now," he told me.

"Maybe they will," I answered happily. I looked over at Anthony. "I know I told you that I would leave with you soon, but I just had my mother truly return to me." "It's OK Johanna. Like I told you before, we will leave when you are ready to, no sooner, no later." "Thank you Anthony."

We both stood up and gripped each other's hands, my left, to his left. He slid his other hand onto my face and gently stroked my cheek with his thumb gently. "I will wait forever if I must, being with you is what matters to me. I love you Johanna." "I love you too Anthony, I'd choose you to marry over the judge anytime." "Everything does seem to be heading the right way for us now, as my family is reunited for real, and I can bring you into it Anthony.

(Daniels POV.) We spent so long searching town after town. Yet another month had passed and we found nothing. But this was the last town we knew of. If that bastard could be anywhere it would be here.

Note: Yes, Daniel has found the town the barber gang is in. The next chapter will be a chapter that will explain what happened during that month that Daniel said passed. The next chapter will still manage to push the story forward even if it's only a tiny push on the end of it.
