Mother's Day
"Mommy," Angelica said, "when I grow up I wanna be just like you! Wouldn't that be great?"
Charlotte smiled. "No, it wouldn't."
"It… it wouldn't?"
"Nope," she said, poking Angelica's nose. "I want you to be better than me." Angelica grinned at that. "I want you to be more successful… but also able to spend more time with your family. Figure out how to balance things better than I ever have." She lifted her daughter onto her lap, reaching over and making sure her phone was sent to DO NOT DISTURB. "Now then… why don't we sit here and watch a movie?"

"Mom, are you sure you don't want to do something special today?"
Mika waved Didi off. "Do something special? What do you think we are doing?"
"Well… we're just making lunch."
"We are making lunch together," Minka pointed out. "With Tommy too." The baby in question was sitting in his highchair playing with toy food.
"But we could have gone to a restaurant or a spa-"
"Bah, you know I don't like such things. You know what I like?" she reached over and gave Didi a one-armed hug. "This… I like this." She let go before lifting Tommy up. "And I like this!" She gave Tommy a kiss, the baby giggling before Minka turned him so he could give Didi in turn a kiss. "Special… oh, you need new glasses if you don't think this is special!"

"Come on pups, let's go have some fun!" Betty said, lifting the twins up and carrying them into the back yard. But when Chuckie went to follow Chas shook his head, drawing him onto his lap. "Chuckie…" Chas said softly, before turning to Howard.
Phil and Lil's dad smiled. "Chuckie, I want to show you some photos." Chas watched as Howard opened the photo album. "This is your mommy." Chuckie's eyes went wide at that. "Here she is holding you when you were first born. And this is when she met your daddy… and this is me and her in our high school gardening club…"
Chas smiled. It was still hard to talk about Melinda… which was why he was so thankful he had friends like Charles to help teach Chuckie about his mom.

"You sure you don't mind?" Melinda asked in Heaven, looking at Trixie.
The older woman smiled and lifted Dil up. "This little guy needs all the attention we can spare!" The soul giggled and squealed, flailing happily.
"Have fun guys!" Mr. Chaos said, settling down to watch over the Earth.
"Actually… we called in a temp to watch over things. You'll be busy today."
"Excuse me?" the blonde creator complained, annoyed. "Why would-"
"Hi," a new voice called out…
…and Mr. Chaos froze, tears gathering in his eyes.
Trixie merely smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder as the author stared at his departed mom. "The reward for tales such as this one… is sometimes you get your happy ending."
