Angelica Nose Best
"Pop, do you really think that a book on tape is good for the kids?" Didi asked, walking into the living room with Lou.
"Why not? Let's the kids have fun and I can do what I want!" He chuckled at that.
"It might be okay for Angelica and maybe Chuckie but the rest of the kids are too little. Tommy is a baby, after all… he can't understand what 'Turn the page' means."
Tommy frowned at that but before he could show that he COULD do it his grandpa let out a sigh. "I guess you're right. And I do want to spend time with the sprout. Come on, Tommy." He lifted the baby up. "I'll read ya the story!"
While Tommy did enjoy the story he was still troubled. "Guys," he said later on, "how am I supposed ta become a big kid if my mommy never lets me do big kid things?"
"This isn't you thinking that your mommy is trying to turn you into a baby baby, is it?" Chuckie complained.
Tommy shook his head. "No, that's not- you don't think she is, do you?" When Chuckie just stared at him Tommy nodded. "Right. No. She isn't doing that. But… she is keeping me from being a big kid! So… how do I prove I am one?"
"Well, you ate dinner yesterday like a big kid," Chuckie said.
"Yeah!" Tommy cheered. "And she told me I was a big boy!" He frowned. "Did she forget I wasn't a baby anymore?"
Chuckie shook his head. "I don't think it works that way, Tommy. I think you have to KEEP acting like a big kid to become one."
"What do you mean?"
"Well… you still use your bottle and your diapie…"
Tommy looked at himself and gasped. "You're right, Chuckie! I need to act like a big person and then I'll become one!"
And with that he grabbed his bottle and began to drink from it.
"Uh… Tommy."
"Oh," Tommy said with a giggle, setting the bottle down. "Right."
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Angelica came in and saw her Aunt working on her jigsaw puzzle. "Can I help, Aunt Didi?"
"Not with this one, sweetie," Didi said. "Its very boring. That's why its taken so long for me to finish it. But if you want I think we can ask your father about getting you a few that are MUCH more exciting. Maybe one with Cynthia on it?"
"A CYNTHIA puzzle?!" Angelica exclaimed, excited at the prospect.
Didi smiled… sometimes a little white lie was worth it.
