Not Worth the Risk
4 years later
Somewhere hidden in Mistral, a building decorated with red banners had what looked like a white beast and a circle around it.
Inside, it looked like a throne room with a gargantuan man dressed in a purple open coat sat on the throne.
One young woman came into the room and kneeled down. "High Leader Ghira, there's something you should know."
Ghira nodded. "What is it Sienna?"
The young woman looked up. "We've been hearing news of the Branwen Tribe getting bolder in their raids."
The large man sighed. "Yes, I know, unfortunately they have kept themselves hidden too well. I suspect some sort of stealth semblance at work." He would have led a team to help get rid of the Branwen Tribe to make the White Fang and Faunus more accepted, but they just couldn't track them.
"There's more." Sienna continued. "There is a young boy in the tribe, a monkey Faunus."
Ghira rose an eyebrow. "A Faunus in their ranks?" As far as he knew they did not accept their kind in their ranks.
"Yes, and he's supposed to be quite powerful. He fights the huntsman while the other bandits pillage the village."
He didn't like hearing that. Why did the tribe have to have a strong Faunus on their side? Not only would this boy be corrupted but also, he is deterring the White Fang's mission for peace.
"High Leader" Sienna continued. "I believe we have more reason to go after the Branwen Tribe, we need to save that boy and have him join us, it will only help achieve our goal."
Ghira could see what she was getting at. For years, she's been trying to explain the need for brute force and new methods in their organizations. But he was afraid that it would only increase the fear the Humans already have. "No"
"High Leader I-"
"No" He said firmly. "This boy, he is a bandit, even if we were to take him, who's to say he will join? And what if he does only to increase the violence you and Adam have become a part of? Don't think I haven't noticed the sabotages of the SDC's cargo."
Sienna looked down, she had hoped that the High Leader could be persuaded. "As you wish, High Leader."
Ghira nodded and allowed her to go. He turned to his guard. "Have someone keep an eye on her and Adam. If they try anything, report to me."
The guard nodded and went to do just that.
As the tiger Faunus walked away, she thought of how disappointed she was with Ghira yet at the same time not surprised. She was thinking Adam exaggerated when he said the High Leader had been too soft, she now sees that he had a point.
No matter, one thing was clear. They need to find that boy and recruit him. Now.
It was a village raid.
The villagers all ran in many directions as the Branwen Tribe invaded.
One huntsman was taking out most of the bandits, he wielded a battle axe. After he cut down one bandit he pressed a button turning it into a rifle. He fired and killed three bandits.
"Hey you!"
The huntsman turned around to see a boy in strange green and red armor with black pants. "Hey kid you better get out of here!"
Kron, now nine years old, grinned and ran forward.
The huntsman was punched in the face and to his surprise he felt it despite his aura. He turned and looked at the young child taking a fighting stance. He concluded that this kid was a bandit and had aura.
"Look kid, just come with me and-"
"Shut up and fight!" Kron aimed his hand forward and fired a Ki wave.
He was taken by surprise and his aura protected him but he was pushed back by the energy wave. He stood back up, he didn't want to fight this kid. But given the situation he knew what he had to do.
He looked up to see the kid running at him.
He swung his axe, only to miss and was punched in the stomach. This kid was strong.
Kron then threw more punches into the huntsman's gut and kicked up his head.
The huntsman hit the ground again, he raised his weapon and transformed it into a rifle. He didn't hesitate and pulled the trigger.
Kron chuckled as he dodged the shots as he made his way to the huntsman. And once he reached him he threw a hard punch into his gut.
Then, a white light shattered around the huntsman. Kron aimed his hand at his face and fired Ki which and the head was destroyed.
Kron stood up breathing heavy, that one got his blood pumping. He was able to kill a huntsman without any assistance from the wimps.
"Kron we gotta go!" Vernal yelled.
The Saiyan growled as he heard that. Now was the time to run with the Grimm coming closer. No, not this time. Kron chuckled as he saw more Beringel coming into the ruins of the village.
These Beringel, the gorilla grimm, were his favorite type of Grimm. They reminded him of the Oozaru though smaller and no tail.
A Beringel glared over to him
Great. Now to have fun.
"Kron!"
"Shut up!" The child shouted, he wasn't leaving as he didn't get to test his attack yet.
Vernal growled and went into the portal. It closed leaving Kron alone but he didn't mind.
One Beringel threw a punch but Kron dodged it and grabbed it's arm. He chuckled as he pulled and yanked it off.
The monster roared in pain. Kron then swept kicked the Grimm and it fell on it's back. He then grabbed it's legs and swung the creature. He tossed it over to the pack that was coming for him, it crashed onto them and made them fall on their backs.
Kron laughed, let's see how much damage he can do.
The Saiyan held up his hands, they each held a red Ki ball, they then began to appear smaller. But really, they were condensed, he then closed his fists. Red electricity surrounded his arms and they began to shake. He sees the beasts charging at him, moment of truth, time to see if Raven's training had paid off.
"Hey, you know you guys are my favorite Grimm!" He yelled as they got closer. "I even named my first attack after you!"
Kron aimed his fists forward, they were shaking with red energy. He was ready to show his favorite Grimm the technique he named after them.
"Beringel Burst!"
He opened his fists and a large red energy wave escaped. The crimson energy swallowed the Grimm, and it created an explosion the size of a house. The shockwave pushed back any villagers or bandits still in the area.
Kron breathed heavily and fell to one knee. He laughed, it worked, he'd done it. He created his own technique. Beringel Burst, a crimson wave of unstoppable energy. This would be his first ever fighting technique.
He had taken Raven's advice to heart. Using the methods on utilizing aura to Ki was actually easier than he thought it would. And now he had created his own energy wave technique. This day just couldn't get any better.
Kron sees beowolves and ursa coming from the forest. More, huh? His energy was plummeting, but he couldn't help it, he wanted more. He stood up ready for more.
A dark portal opened behind him and a hand came on his shoulder. "Huh- WHA!" He yelled as he was pulled in.
Kron was yanked from the portal and tossed on the ground. "Ah!" He growled as he got up shaking his head. "Raven" He whined.
Raven looked at the child and rolled her eyes. He always whined whenever he needed saving. She looked over to Vernal. "How did he do?" She knew the answer.
Vernal looked annoyed at the monkey boy. "Terrible, he didn't follow my orders."
The bandit lord glared at Kron who glared back. "I thought I told you to follow her lead." She said sternly.
"I did, I fought and killed a huntsman!" He yelled.
Raven looked to Vernal.
"I told him to use his semblance from a distance while we deal with the huntsmen as a group. He ditched his post to fight one on the other side of the village."
The leader looked at Kron who had his arms crossed. "Why didn't you follow her advice?"
"Because I can fight for myself, I don't need to do these wimpy tactics." He replied back.
"Wimpy huh?" Raven asked as she walked over to him and looked up and down. "I see that you're exhausted, did you use that move you made up?"
Kron looked confused, that was a change. "Yeah wh-!"
Raven quickly pushed him down and placed her boot on his chest. She pulled out her sword and aimed the blade at his throat.
The Saiyan's eyes widened, he tried to push her foot off of him but he was too exhausted from his technique.
"This 'wimpy' tactic" She explained. "could end you."
Kron glared angrily but understood what she meant. If he hadn't gone through the portal, he likely would have been killed by the large number of Grimm since he used so much energy in the Berringer Burst and these tactics are a means of a 100% success rate. He stopped struggling as he knew what she wanted. He nodded his head looking ashamed.
Raven stepped off of him and pulled him up. Hopefully the message got through his head.
The Saiyan looked to see Vernal looking smug but he kept his temper in check.
The bandit lord looked at the group and saw that half of them were missing. "Your stunt cost us members."
Kron knew that he could get away with what he said next. "It's like you said, the strong live and the weak die. It's their fault for being weak."
He had definitely taken on the core values of the Branwen Tribe to heart. But not the way she intended. "You are a member of the Branwen Tribe, we are family AND we watch each other's backs."
Kron rolled his eyes. "Like the two idiots I took care of?"
Raven opened her mouth; this boy didn't seem to get it. She sighed trying to get a hold of herself. "That was different, from now on I or Vernal will supervise you on raids. Is that clear?
It wasn't but Kron didn't want to take any more chances than he already had. "Fine" He then walked away with other bandits glaring at him. "Pfft, I'm going to my tent."
She watched the boy leave and wondered how does he still not understand that this family needs to stand together?
"Raven, can't you see he's a problem? He's letting us die!"
Interesting that they said that after Kron was out of earshot.
Raven scoffed at the man. "I fixed the issue, he won't be on raids without my supervision anymore."
"Why do you trust him so much? This wouldn't have happened if you-"
She glared that silenced him. "He lives by the ideals of our tribe far better than most of you." The look on her face was disappointed. "If our last Chief could see you all now, he would be ashamed of what you've become."
The other bandits looked angry, ashamed or just accepted and moved on to their day.
Once Vernal and Raven were alone, Vernal began talking.
"Raven, I think we should consider cutting our losses." Vernal advised.
The Bandit Lord glared. "You know that we need him."
"He's more trouble than he's worth." Her protégé argued, she got a glare from her mentor. "I know we need power but what good is it if he doesn't care about the rest of the tribe?"
Raven knew what she was talking about. He lacked aura yet seems to have a semblance. They tried using many Aura measuring devices they had stolen yet they couldn't get so much as a bar of Aura from him. On top Kron had gotten stronger over the years and earned them more money in a day. Way more than they used to earn in a week. This should be a good thing.
But the brat was starting to get more and more rebellious. He started to disobey her to do his own thing or just out of spite. In raids, she's been losing more men than she used to because of his carelessness.
She couldn't quite figure out what to do, maybe she should cut her losses and take care of him now. But then she thought of the five-year-old she met, she remembered teaching him how to fight, how to use his semblance and how to read.
Raven did that because she needed to have him loyal and devoted to her. But she ended up feeling attached to him herself. She thought of her baby Yang, when she left Taiyang.
This made her shake, she hadn't thought of them in a while. She shook her head, she had a choice to make.
Either take care of Kron or risk him attracting attention.
She looked at Vernal and gave her answer.
Kron made it to his room and was in a foul mood. Just what was Raven's problem? The Branwen Tribe is supposed to be all about survival of the fittest! Exactly like the Saiyan culture. He looked at the book titled Branwen Tribe's Foundation.
He opened the book and read through it and found what he was looking for. When a Tribesman dies, they are deemed too weak and thus the tribe has to carry less dead weight. That's what it says, but apparently to Raven the current leader it's 'upsetting'. What the hell!? It's in this very book Raven gave him those couple years ago and she said it was the code to the tribe.
"Ugh, earthlings seem to make more sense in the past than they do now, why can't they be consistent like saiyans." He whined.
Now that begs the question. How much longer should he stay in this tribe? Sure, his living arrangement is nice, he gets all the food and fighting he could ever ask for. Plus, the training with Raven is nice and sometimes she does make him feel at home. But all this crap about watching out for your own is ruining the Saiyan like experience he hoped for when joining this tribe.
Also, he felt limited and wanted to leave Anima to see something else. Reading books on these nations' history made Kron want to leave and explore. He would like to see a city at least before he was to go on and carry out his mission. Luckily this planet seemed very far down on the list for planets to conquer.
He puts the book down. He'll think about it after some training.
Kron made it to a clearing a bit far from the encampment, it's a shame he couldn't fight Grimm as the tribe likes to avoid them to coddle their weaklings without aura. That's so annoying.
The boy sat down and meditated like Raven taught him to. This was a way to understand your aura, it's limits and the best way to use them. At first, he hated this but discovered that it was a good way to control his Ki. It was how he came up with the Beringel Burst.
After a while Kron stood up, he raised his fists and red electric currents rode along his arms. He breathed in and out to make sure this Beringel Burst wouldn't use too much energy. He aimed his fists at a boulder and opened his hands to show a red Ki wave. The boulder was destroyed, and red lightning cackled where it stood.
"Don't feel tired." Kron smiled. Raven had told him that to use his 'semblance' effectively he must be calm and use a precise amount of aura in his attacks, so he'll have plenty of 'aura' in a real fight. He's starting to regret not taking up on her training sooner, he had no idea it would reap so many benefits. His only problem is he gets too excited in combat and just pours all his Ki into his attacks.
Kron couldn't help but feel amazed at how the concept of controlling your Aura aligns with Ki control. How easy would it be for someone with Aura to learn Ki? That sent excitement down his spine, just imagine a huntsman using Ki and Aura at once. He couldn't help but smile at the thrill but also, he felt some fear. Huntsman are still strong enough to kill him if he's not careful.
Still perhaps one day when he's beyond the limits of these people he'll try that after all they are a weaker species and never come close to Saiyan might.
At that thought he looked at his arms and felt the Ki through his veins. Since Kron came to this planet his power had increased, however it was not anywhere near what he would have liked. Sure, he's miles above when he landed but the thought of how strong he would be if he stayed back home. The 10x gravity surely would have increased his level by at least 100 units by now, and at that point he would have been strong enough to rampage across Earth, or Remnant as the natives called it. He looked up at the sky.
Four years, his parents probably think he's dead by now. That's fine when he comes to be a conqueror of a new world for the PTO and joins the ranks of the Saiyan army.
But then he thought of Raven. Sure she's a pain sometimes but he couldn't help but feel some sort of attachment towards her. She looks, acts close to a Saiyan and actually trains him unlike his mother.
He shook his head, he shouldn't think that way about an inferior creature. She's still a soft weak, earthling.
Bang!
Kron's head tilted to the side, he knew that feeling, a bullet hit his forehead. The child turned his head and sniffed. A human, a villager perhaps? The child ran forward and pulled a man out of the bushes. He had dirty blonde hair he was about to punch him but was surprised it was a tribesman. "Shay?"
The man looked beyond terrified. "H-help me!
The Saiyan looked confused then was hit in the face with a club, it was enough to make him let Shay go and run back.
He turned his head to see more of the Branwen Tribe surrounding him. Not all of them but a good chunk, mostly the weaklings that survived the last raid.
"What are you doing?" Kron was annoyed, he knocked them all out with swift blows some of them were fatal and some were not. Depending if they had aura. He had his boot on a man's head and turned to see Vernal coming out of the bushes.
Vernal brought her circle blades up and aimed at Kron. "We decided that you're not worth keeping around."
The child was surprised to see Vernal so were they on Raven's orders? "Funny, I never thought I'd see you without being joint to Raven's hip." He chuckled, he didn't get any reaction out of her. "What are you doing anyw-"
Vernal tossed one of her ring blades.
Kron jumped out of the way and was shot in the forehead making his head tilt back. "Hey what's the bi-"
She raised one hand to catch the tossed ring blade and slashed, hitting his shoulder cutting his shirt by his shoulder.
He growled, he really needed to learn when to just fight and not talk. But he couldn't help it with the woman he hated. "Damn it woman would you let me finish a god damn sent-"
She tossed one of her ring blades.
Kron swayed it, he knew better to touch these things coded in her Aura. He was able to avoid being shot and fired a Ki blast.
Vernal jumped out of the way and caught her blade ring, she tossed the other one.
The Saiyan ran to her and jumped over it.
Vernal swung her blade only for the agile boy to duck beneath the blade and punched her in the face. She returned it with a kick to his neck, this made the boy angrier, good he was sloppy when angry and she eyed her blade ring coming back.
Kron was ready to throw a punch but his shoulder was slashed and made him fumble.
Vernal chuckled as she caught the blade and slashed on his chest.
The boy's chest armor now had a huge X on it. He was enraged that his armor was even more ruined! But he took a breath and tried to temper his rage.
Vernal caught the blade ring back in her hand and swung for Kron's neck. The Saiyan ducked and swept kicked her, making her fall on the ground. The Saiyan grabbed her neck and punched her with his free hand.
Raven's protégé slashed at Kron's face making blood leak out his cheek and it made him release her. She then slammed her head against Kron's making him get off of her and he flipped up.
He felt his cheek, it was blood. He hated that such a cheap weapon could harm him, but it was exciting to him all the same. He licked it and ran forward laughing. He would get a decent fight and kill the woman that was a pest to him.
Vernal ran forward as well and slashed though Kron was able to dodge most of them. The Saiyan spun kicked, only for Vernal duck and kicked his abdomen. He fell to the ground and rolled as Vernal slammed her blade to the ground where his head was.
Kron jumped up and kicked her in the face sending her a few feet away from him. And a white light shattered around. Kron cackled, he knew what that meant. He looked down at the blade ring. blade and stomped on it. It shattered beneath his foot. He then continued to walk forward. "So, did Raven tell you to do this?" He asked as he kept walking.
Raven's protégé said nothing and fired.
Kron caught the bullet, she shot multiple times as he caught the bullets with some effort. "Hey, it's fine either way! I've been wanting to crush you for a while anyway!" He laughed as he walked forward, though that did raise a question; what was he going to do after he dealt with her? Oh well, he'll blow up that bridge when it comes to it.
Vernal pushed herself off the ground and pulled the trigger only for a clicking sound to be heard. She was out, she dropped the weapon and saw Kron right in front of her.
The Saiyan bashed his knee into her, making her fall down and cling to her stomach.
Kron kept walking and put his foot on her head. "Now, why don't you tell me why you did that? And maybe I won't just crush your head."
The woman didn't say anything but felt the pressure of his boot increasing.
"Alright say goodbye!"
Bang!
A bullet hit his face again and made him stumble. He was really getting tired of being vulnerable to such cheap weaponry.
It was Shay holding his gun up. "Little shit!" The bandit pulled the trigger again.
Kron caught the bullet and tossed it back into his leg.
"Ah!" Shay fell and held his leg in pain.
"Shay!" A couple men ran to him.
"You, filthy animal!"
Kron chuckled as he looked at the man that held his knee. "Look at you, this group is all about strength, but you coddle each other." He aimed his hand forward and fired red Ki blasts. They were not strong enough to incinerate them, but they were strong enough to burn enough of them to kill them.
It felt good, he's been wanting to destroy these morons for a while. They had no idea what strength was.
The Saiyan walked towards Vernal who was trying to crawl away. "You know I got to thank you, I wouldn't get to kill this much of you weaklings if you hadn't come along." He rose one fist in the air, red electricity traveled over his arm. "I'll thank you by killing you with my new move."
Vernal's eyes widened, she thought he wasted his aura earlier with that attack that was why she and her group tried to attack him now.
"Ber-"
"Stop!"
Kron shook when he heard that voice and turned his head.
It was Raven and she had her helmet on. She walked through the portal and in front of the boy.
The Saiyan closed his fist and his Ki died with it.
Raven looked around, the corpses of some of her tribe members and Vernal she looked completely exhausted. "What happened?"
Kron smirked. "Well your little groupie over there tried to kill me." He motioned to Vernal who was struggling to get up.
"What did you do?" The bandit lord asked Vernal.
"Raven, we can't keep him with us." She explained. "H-he's a freak."
She looked down at the corpses of some of her men and back to Kron. "Did you do this?"
"Sure did!" The Saiyan yelled proudly. "It's like you said Raven, the strong live and the weak die."
"They were our family." Raven said looking at the corpses of her tribe and back to the face of the boy.
"So were the idiots I took out back then! And guess who let me join!" Kron laughed, he was still riding the high from killing the weaklings, he wanted to kill them for a while for all the whining they did about not watching their backs.
She looked at the boy, she's seen him kill before, seen him have fun while doing it. But to members of the Tribe? Seeing him enjoy killing members of her family made her realize something. Vernal had been right.
"Kron"
Kron turned to Raven ready for another lecture.
Raven pulled out Omen revealing a blue blade and slashed at Kron's fight making a block of ice.
"Wh-what the-?!" He struggled to pull out his iced feet. He looked at Raven. "What are you doing?!"
She looked at the child, this boy. When he was with her, he felt like a second chance, a chance to be a mother that Taiyang denied her when she tried to take Yang into her tribe.
But she resolved herself. She was the leader of the Branwen Tribe, she needs to be strong enough to do what others won't. She sees what this boy is, he enjoys fighting, killing even her own tribe. What was supposed to be his family, it doesn't matter if Salem gets her hands on him or not. He's simply too dangerous to keep alive.
Raven quickly slashed at his throat.
Bur Kron ducked and punched the ice at his feet. Kron smiled at her, he didn't care if Raven was still stronger, he was going to have fun taking her down. He charged at her and threw a punch and to his surprise it landed.
It cracked the helmet she was wearing. Kron's eyes widened; this was the first time he actually landed a hit on her, the other sparring sessions he always missed. But then he sees something that makes him shake.
Her eye is glowing with a red flame like light.
Kron didn't know what it was but for some reason it filled him with excitement, he smiled again ready to throw another punch.
But it was short lived.
Lightning struck from the sky and it hit his chest.
"Ahhh!" Kron now unconscious falls from down the edge of a cliff and down in the ocean.
Raven watched him fall, for a brief moment her eye looked regretful but she shook her head. It had to be done, he was too dangerous. But she realized something, her connection to him through her semblance is still there. He's still alive, after a fight with Vernal that surely left him exhausted and being struck by lightning from a Maiden.
She put her hand on her sword, she should finish the job. But then she remembered that little boy she found. He was a brat, but she taught him how to fight and how to read. And even now she feels attached to him.
Vernal walked behind her holding her arm. "I-is he gone?"
Raven didn't answer for a few moments. "Yes" Her tone was deadly. "Get back to the men and tell them we're relocating." The Bandit lord ordered as she looked down at the lake that she sent Kron falling to. She knows she's still there "Leave me be Vernal."
Vernal stopped just behind her. "Raven I-"
"Shut up." The Bandit lord demanded. "I told you, that we were not killing him and you went behind my back and tried that. Now you're the reason we've lost men."
Her protégé actually looked hurt hearing that, she was only doing what was right, and thanks to her his true colors were brought to the surface. "He was too dangerous; he was already strong enough to kill a huntsman, if he got older he would've- " She jumped as lightning struck next to her.
Raven turned around her eyes glowing red. "Leave. Me. Be."
Vernal had seen Raven sound intimidating to make huntsman and her fellow kin to cower to her whims. But she has never been on the receiving end, nor was it to this degree to anyone. She walked away hoping she'll calm down.
The bandit lord remembered that cursed book he mentioned that book she gave him after teaching him how to read.
Months after Raven took Kron in.
The woman looked down at the boy. She didn't expect all these questions. Well she can afford to explain, after all he'll have to get bored eventually.
"The Grimm are said to be evil monsters that devour humanity simply because they can." She explained. "We think the Grimm are here to punish us for being weak and so to survive, we must become what we fight. We attack the weak to take what we need either through fear or force."
Kron for some reason wanted to hear more and he looked at the mask on the table. "Is that why you wear that mask?"
Raven looks at her helmet and put a hand on it. "Yes, this is the Branwen Helm" She explained. "It's passed down from chief to chief." She sees the child about to ask more so she continued hoping he'd stop these questions. "My great-great grandfather Owl Branwen used to live in the City of Mistral. As he defended the city from Grimm many people still died. He appealed to the King to allow all to possess aura or at least to receive training."
She sees the boy not at all bored like she thought, so she continued. "He was denied and so he took his children and attempted to create a society that would be guaranteed to survive the tide of Grimm and be stronger than the so-called Huntsman that are supposed to protect humanity. He gathered some like-minded individuals and thus formed the Branwen Tribe."
Kron kept his mouth shut, he just couldn't help it, he had no idea these earthlings can make so much sense.
Raven sees he's still not satisfied so continued, she picked up her helmet. "This helmet was forged to resemble the many masks of the Grimm he slew, and it is worn by those who embraced his ideals the most. The strong thrive and the weak die."
The child just loved hearing this, the origins of the helmet seemed similar to King Vegeta's necklace. Forged with the gems of the planets he conquered during the first years in the Cold Force. Now it's kind of a shame to do his mission, at least anytime soon.
She can see that the child would like more but decided she would give him something else instead. "One moment." She walked away from the child.
Kron waited not sure what to expect, he saw her come back with what looked like another book.
"If you want to learn more." Raven put the book in front of him. "You can read this book, it's the history of our tribe."
The Saiyan took the book and immediately began reading it. For a moment Raven smiled, for some reason it felt nice to teach this boy something other than fighting.
Of course, it all started because of that damn book. He took the old ways to heart and this is what he became. She could feel his life force, she could go and kill him now. But she remembered that little boy.
She just tried to kill him, with a slash of her sword, he dodged it, she tried to kill him with a bolt of lightning and he survived it. But she just can't bring herself to try a third time even thinking it would succeed.
Raven looked down at the crashing waves, she remembered that little boy that she found. He was quite the little monster, and yet he was a curious one. She taught him how to fight and read. She even told him stories. She had raised a child, what would she have done if he was actually her own- a flash of Yang came to her mind.
"I'm sorry Kron but please" Raven pleaded. "Don't come back." She left to join her tribe in leaving.
In the lake Kron sunk further down the ocean. His eyes opened and rose from the water breathing hard with burnt flesh on his chest with half his chest armor destroyed.
He was losing consciousness. He had to get to shore before he passed out.

My DeviantArt Account RaosFanfics has a photoshop of Kron at 9 years old and what he looked like in this story if anyone's interested, though Raven has pretty much destroyed his armor.
Before you guys get angry that Kron's not at Raven's level yet, remember he's nine and he can kill a huntsman with little trouble so he's still gotten reasonable gains.
Also Raven is not Master Roshi, I don't believe her training would be that beneficial for a Saiyan.
Goku had teachers to help him get as strong as he did. Kron's progress will be slower because of this since Maidens wouldn't be close to Master Roshi.
You know Raven has no idea how right she was in attempting to kill him. He is trying to plan mass genocide and he can do it in time. So she should finish the job, but she can't really bring herslef to try a third time to kill him after raising him.
Now yes Kron is at death's door but his Zenkai will not be by much. Goku as a child had been beaten to near death multiple times and his Zenkai didn't do much. Of course that's because Toriyama didn't invent the concept until Z. So Kron's first couple Zenkai's will be small until a certain point.
I wanted Kron and Raven to have some sort of Gohan and Piccolo relationship only it went terribly wrong. Raven tried to instill loyalty as well as instill the ideals the Branwen Tribe supposedly lived by. It worked one way, he did feel something for Raven but he truly adopted the strong live and the weak die philosophy. Which is similar to Saiyan culture. But the Branwen were probably better about looking out for each other unlike the Saiyans who don't really have comraderie.
Which is inefficient, I mean if the Saiyans cared for eachother imagine the Zenkais. Though Frieza probably would have killed them sooner.
And Raven unfortunatelty got to see Kron as a surrogate son, she taught him how to fight, how to read and about dirty tactics. Ironically, she ended more attatched then Kron did, otherwise she would kill him.
So about Beringel Burst, I kinda like the name when I came up with it because of the gorilla Grimm and it resembles the Oozaru to Kron. Let me know what you think.
I want to name most of his attacks after Grimm, I have another later on to show.

Guest - So for some reason your review isn't showing, I only see it through my email is it showing for you ? Anyway I'll reply here.
I know Saiyans weren't honorable, I was probably overthinking that time when Goku got god form and hated how he got the power. So I thought Kron might look down on Cinder for getting power that way not really caring for the maidens she's hurting just how smug she is with power she didn't earn. But again I might be overthinking it. Either way he would probably help her get the other maidens if he's far ahead of her when they fight. Like Vegeta with Cell.
As for romance, I know. I just meant if Vegeta can have it why not another Saiyan?
Saiyans can get attatched one way or another.
I hope you'll enjoy the story.
Power scale tier - You know I would like to see your scale on RWBY characters, I'm having trouble with that myself. Hope you enjoy the story.
Guest- I believe you are both of these reviews right? I'll reply here.
If you go back the first chapter you'll see that the 10x gravity was a factor I included.
Yes though he can't go Great Ape with a broken moon and he doesn't have enough to power to create an artificial moon.
Yeah, funny you should mention that, I have plans for that later on.
Yes but Kid Goku still had teachers help him get as strong as he did and the Ultra Divine Water, all of which Kron has no access to so his gains will be slower.
Kid Goku was been beaten to near death a couple times in dragon ball and didn't seem to effect his strength much, except maybe the ultra divine water, but it also awakened his potential and for that reason Kron's FIRST couple Zenkai's will be small, very small like Kid Goku's.
God Light knows that, he beleives that the movies can take place in a different dimension which can make sense.
Hope you enjoy the story.
God Light-We PM'd about this on your main account, I'll try to summarize here.
Goku didn't want to do it both times if other people weren't in danger he wouldn't have done it, Cinder would do it regaurdless.
Turles is a fair comparison. Also I changed my mind a bit, some Saiyans would like Cinder's power hungry nature but some wouldn't like her way of getting power. Fifty Fifty basically.
Vegeta being afraid of Frieza is understandible just like Raven being afraid of Salem, so if Vegeta was a bitch, so was Raven. However Raven has acted far more cowardice than Vegeta ever had, endangering people you care about because your afraid is far more cowardly then being afraid of someone many times stronger than you and more understandible. And the part Saiyans would look down on is that she wanted to avoid fighting Salem and keep running, Vegeta always intended to fight Frieza one day.
So Raven is by far the bigger coward, the show basically tells us this at the end of Volume 5.
As for Raditz, I mean it's Raditz.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter.
SalzaSAUCE Neo - Well see what I'm feeling when we get there, hope you enjoy this on our way to pairings.
BalisticPanda45 - Thank you I hope I'm still doing a good job with my OC. He's still loves to fight like any Saiyan only he's developed a love for history. As we saw last chapter and this chapter when he read the Foundations of The Branwen Tribe.
Well his time in the tribe ends here sadly. His personality got a bit more vicious cause here he got weaklings to bully and he took their ideals too much into heart. The only positive thing was he developed some sort of soft spot for Raven and a fondness of learning Remnant's history. Though now that she tried to murder him for good reasons who knows what he'll do now.
Interesting thought but let's hope Raditz doesn't show up anytime soon though, if he does right now and offers Kron a place in the Saiyan team he'll have little reason not to accept, his goal is to join the Frieza Force.
Wolf1741 - Well I mean so is Yang in fact she's the muscle of the group so...
Wiess is strong willed and likes to argue.
But Yang likes to actually fight and uses her fists unlike most huntsman.
So you can make a case for either one, they both make a good candidate for a Saiyan, I don't really see how Weiss is better, she's a good candidate but so is Yang.
I see a lot of you guys looking forward to pairings. Slow your roll guys, he's nine, he needs to grow up first. Lol! Also he needs to for some reason abandon his mission, I already got an idea in the works, feel free to let me know your ideas.
I haven't gotten one set and stone just yet. For now we read him developing in the world, and sooner or later he'll have an effect on the plot.
So remember the next update is in three weeks, I wanted to keep updating week for week but I feel the need to unwind and relax. I got work and feel the need for more time for myself.
HOPEFULLY I'll see your reviews. If you guys see your reviews plz PM me i want to know if it's my computer or not. At least I can see them on my email.
Alright guys if you enjoyed, then good for you!
Have an awesome day! :)
