Made it on time. I'll try to update weekly but something may get in the way so be prepared if I can't. I'll try to make it happen though.
Enjoy.
To Be Feared
Kron swam as fast he could; he screamed in pain from the fresh wound on his chest, the water didn't really help as it lowered his temperature. The Saiyan made it to shore, he pulled himself out of the water and on the land. He tried to stand up but fell on his chest.
The pain on his chest got worse as his chest touched land. He screamed and forced himself to lie on his back. He looked down to see half his armor was destroyed and a hideous burn mark on his chest from where the lightning had struck.
Kron's thoughts drifted back to what happened, he remembered Raven trying to kill him and he fought back. He landed a punch on her mask but then he saw a weird red like flame glow from her eye and the next lightning struck from the sky.
The Saiyan couldn't think much after that and blacked out.
Kron awoke with a startle, he looked down to see his chest wrapped in bandages and his arms in ropes.
"He's awake."
The Saiyan was groggy and saw multiple people. Faunus of different kinds surrounded him.
A woman walked forward, she had black stripes on her shoulder's large years. A tiger Faunus if he remembered correctly.
"You've been out for two days." She said in a soothing voice.
Two days? Kron's eyes widened at that, he remembered something.
"Are you ok?" Sienna asked.
The child didn't say anything and got off the bed. He knelt down from the pain.
"Careful" She knelt down to the child and tried to help him up.
"Don't touch me!" He backhanded her and sent her through the tent and it brought it down.
Sienna's head hit a rock outside, her aura protected her from the blow. Her men surrounded her to make sure she was ok, and then she couldn't believe what happened next. The child flew out of the tent and away from the area.
"He can fly?" One guard asked.
"I thought you said his semblance was a light that destroys." Another stated.
"I thought so too." Sienna stood up and saw her men were still concerned. "I'm alright." She sees that the child is getting further and further away. Perhaps he's not the same boy, but the strength behind his attack knocked her back despite her aura. There was no question this was the boy.
"What now?" One asked.
Sienna stood back up. "We'll try again another time." It was a shame he didn't stay, but now more than ever she was determined to recruit him.
Kron flew, longer than he thought he would. The training for his 'aura' paid off, he hadn't flown since joining Raven.
That thought made him think, Raven tried to kill him and with her semblance she'd have no problem finding him. She knows he's still alive which means she'll come back to finish the job soon. What now? Where could he run?
These thoughts were interrupted when he hit a tree, it's top branches broke but it didn't hurt most of him, but some branches hit his chest where the lightning struck.
"Ah!" The child fell and hit the earth, he got up and held his chest in pain. That lightning really hurt, what were the chances of that happening. But maybe it wasn't chance, he remembered that weird glow from Raven's eye, it was like a flame. And seconds after that lightning struck him.
That was no coincidence which means Raven was hiding something else from him. More power, she almost ended him and nothing was stopping her now. He turned around and looked everywhere trying to find a portal.
Kindred Link was her semblance, she forms a bond with people and can create portals to them. She can also detect when these people are alive or dead. So, she has to know he's alive. If so, why not finish him off?
He hears rustling behind him and a disgusting scent.
Kron turned around and fired a red Ki blast to destroy whatever was hiding.
It was a Beowulf and it incinerated from the blast, more came from the bushes in its place.
Normally Kron would enjoy fighting these creatures even if they can hardly fight back, but right now he was thinking of when Raven would strike when would she-
One Beowulf attacked from behind and its jaws reached his right shoulder.
It didn't hurt but it irritated him, he reached for its head and squeezed, crushing its skull. He then went on destroying the rest of the pack with rapid punches and kicks. He grabbed the last one and slammed it into the ground and pinned it's throat with his knee. He aimed his hand at the creature's mouth and fired. The beast's head was incinerated.
Kron actually felt a bit better, proving he was still strong calmed him down. Calm, he needs to calm down. He remembered the annoying meditating sessions Raven forced him to do. He hated it but what else could he do right now, thinking of Raven killing him will only attract more of these creatures.
The Saiyan didn't smile like usual and grabbed his wound
He remembered those people that actually bandaged him. Perhaps he should have stayed, he could have finished healing and taken whatever supplies they had for himself after disposing of them.
"Oh well." He looked to see a large cave, he frowned as he actually missed his tent now. He walked in the cave and lied down on some soft dirt.
The Branwen Tribe just moved to their new location, already far away from Anima, and far away from the child Raven had to 'put down.'
Raven was in her tent with her helmet on her desk. She held one of the books she gave Kron to read. 'The Foundations of the Branwen Tribe' the book written by her great-great grandfather. It along with the Branwen Helm were passed on from generation to generation.
The woman opened the book and skidded through it. She had read through this book multiple times. All these rules were followed by the previous chief. When Raven had become the leader of the group she decided it was time for change due to learning of dangerous forces. The Maidens, relics, Salem and Ozpin.
Fear gripped her when she saw what Salem was capable of and what her machinations were. She seemed unbeatable, ruthless and a war with her was pointless. So, she defected and tried to have Taiyang with their newborn daughter join her tribe, so they could be a true family.'
Her heart broke when he refused.
When she came back to her tribe, she took over thanks to all her experience and training as a huntress. She had started to end certain rules of the tribe or at least modified them a bit. They became more like comrades in arms while still having the view that the strong live and the weak die and so will make sacrifices when necessary.
They became the best version the Branwen Tribe ever was, no longer killing off their own members and even looking out for one another.
But Kron was not ok with that. The child read through this book likely more than she did and took those old methods to heart. She tried to get him to understand that those values were old and in the past. But he wouldn't listen, it was as if he had already taken those values to heart.
Perhaps he did, he never really described his parents. He did say that his father was an entertainer with the same semblance and his mother wasn't home a lot. Maybe the mother had a similar mindset.
Then there was the boy's power. It was not aura or a semblance, she had hoped to have him tell her what it was or figure out what it was when he was older. It was another reason why she kept him in the tribe, a power like that could be able to defend against Salem's forces.
He didn't care about the tribe, she didn't know where he came from, and he had a power that she couldn't identify. All of these were red flags she ignored.
She remembered him admitting that he killed his fellow tribesman. He laughed and was so proud of it. He allowed members of the tribe to die in the past, but actually murdering them? She didn't know he was capable of such cruelty. She felt terrified, betrayed, and ashamed at the same time.
Terrified because this boy was powerful and ruthless unlike anyone the tribe has had. Betrayed because she thought Kron at least understood what her tribe meant to her and killed them anyway. Ashamed because she was the one responsible for bringing him up, she failed to teach him loyalty to the tribe not just to her and allowed him to read this damned book.
Raven put the book on the table and closed her eyes. She could feel him, he survived and is likely healed by now. She could kill him right now, just portal to him and make it quick.
Even if Vernal had acted on her own, she wasn't all wrong. Kron was dangerous he couldn't be allowed in the tribe or to live.
But she couldn't do the deed. Maybe if she had done things differently, it wouldn't have come to this. Maybe this was her fault, she initially wanted to leave him be not help him when she sensed he was in danger, he would hate recieve help anyway.
Raven dismissed that though, she knew she couldn't just leave the boy to wander freely. She came up with a plan for him, a test, one that will either ensure comeplete loyalty from him or firm her decision to do what needs to be done.
All that she can do now is wait to inact it. She did hope that Kron will make the right decision when it was time.
Kron awoke with a startle and blasted Ki in front of him. He breathed in and out, he expected Raven to portal to him and kill him in his sleep. He grabbed his head and yanked his hair. "What's wrong with you! She's a measly human and you're acting like she's a threat!"
'Because she is.' He thought.
The Saiyan tried to keep himself calm, he was fearing his own prey. She was the one that was supposed to end up dead later on. He is on top of the food chain here! As long as he lived he would surpass Raven as he trains and ages. He would end her in time.
But will she allow that time?
Kron noticed another disgusting scent, he looked up and shook.
Right in front of him was a giant Grimm with multiple legs, pincers and a long tail. A Deathstalker, the scorpion Grimm. It swung it's tail attempting to stab Kron in the chest.
The Saiyan jumped back as it struck the ground. Normally this thing wouldn't be that big of a threat to him, but he kept thinking any second Raven would come in and end him with that strange power. Striking lightning from abo- He got grabbed in one of the creatures pincers with ease.
The child looked at the creature as it opened its jaws. But he was more focused on the eyes. He could see his reflection, his face. It looked like the huntsman he killed with the Branwen Tribe. Fear.
'Fear?' Kron thought as the creature brought him closer to its mouth. The Saiyan fired a Ki blast into its mouth, making it release Kron and he jumped up. And he stood against the pitiful creature.
The Saiyan's face and mood changed from fear to anger. How dare he make that face? How dare he make the same face as the inferior inhabitants of this planet? How dare he fear Raven?
A stinger came down, aiming for his chest. Kron swiftly ran forward as it struck the ground and punched it's dense mask.
Kron's fist hurt from that but he didn't care and threw multiple punches into the creature, cracking it's shell each time.
The Deathstalker attempted to grab him in his pincers again. The Saiyan grabbed one of the pincers and pulled hard to tear off the creature's claw. It roared as it lost it's appendage.
He wasn't done and jumped, he grabbed the tail under his shoulder and dragged the monster out of what was left of the cave. He then flipped and swung the creature making it crash and cratered the ground beneath it.
Kron then put his arms up with his fists, red electric energy formed around his arms and he aimed his hands down at the creature as it tried to adjust itself. "Beringel Burst!" The red energy wave fired and incinerated the best and a crater around the creature's size was there to see.
The Saiyan breathed in and out with a smile. His technique was stronger than usual. He put his hand on his chest. The wound wasn't hurting anymore. He healed and he was in critical condition. This was his first Zenkai.
But he didn't quite get the power boost he was hoping for. If he had to guess the boost was probably only single digits. Not enough, too weak for the planet's purge.
And too weak for her.
Kron growled at the thought, he was afraid, afraid of this wretch of a human that pretended to live by Saiyan-like principles! He clenched his fists because he was enraged at himself, the Branwen Tribe and Raven all at once.
And that twinge of fear was still there. That Raven will come to finish the job.
He shook his head remembering the Deathstalker, he attracted it with negative emotions in his sleep. And who knows how many more would come and if Raven would portal while he's distracted.
"Stop it!" Kron yelled to himself and punched the ground. He hated himself for this! For being so weak and timid!
'You need to learn to control your emotions.' He heard Raven's voice. 'Use your meditation to control your aura, keep your negative emotions in check and understand your situation.'
He hated the idea of using any of the old hag's methods. But he did have to have a leveled head otherwise he may regret it.
He sat down and took a steady breath. He focused on his Ki like Raven taught him when she thought it was aura. He thought of Raven, she definitely tried to kill him, that much is true, and when she attempts to kill she just does it. She doesn't play with her prey. So why isn't she doing it now? Especially while he's still injured she can finish the job.
Kron really started to calm realizing that. Something was keeping her from killing him. But what? Even with his Zenkai she could do it. She could have finished the job right after he was struck by that weird lightning.
How long had it been? That tiger Faunus had said that he'd been out for more than a day. So that, plus the amount of time he needed to rest. She has had plenty of time to end him. And hasn't done it, so she doesn't want to kill him. That leaves the question why and what does she gain?
Does it matter? No, it doesn't matter, what matters is she's letting him live, and she will pay for showing mercy. It's a death warrant.
Kron opened his eyes. "Raven, you're going to regret not finishing the job." He smiled and stopped meditating. He had calmed down and any negative emotions went away, he was focused now.
Now that it's settled, he has to wonder. What should he do now?
"The reason I joined those idiots was, so I can have a place to hide among the natives and build up strength until I was ready for the mission." Kron said aloud, his tail unraveled and moved around as he thought. He looked down at his chest, remembering that his armor was gone, his guards were gone and his boots. All he had were his grey pants and the bandages on his chest.
"Another reason to make that hag bleed." Kron growled, he had hoped to keep his armor until the mission had been completed. He grabbed the bandages and pulled them off. He sees a small burn scar on his upper right chest area. Most Saiyans would get angry over a lesser species giving him a scar but for Kron he only smiled. It was proof of his survival, that even if the odds are against him, he will survive and conquer this entire rock.
The Saiyan thought back to the lightning that struck him. It was no coincidence. He remembered the red flame like light leaking from Raven's eye. She had caused it. But how? He already knew her semblance, something with Dust perhaps? No, it was some unique power that she hid from him.
Kron smiled, how fun, looks like Raven has more power up her sleeve. All the more reason to find her and finish the fight. He calmed himself again, not yet. If he tries to fight her now, he'll end up dead, he's sure of that. He'll be forgotten on this far flung rock.
Whatever the case, Kron had decided what he'll do now. "First I'll get stronger." He rose one hand and used his Ki to create a silhouette that resembled Raven. "Then I'll destroy Raven." He squeezed his fist making the Ki turn to smoke. He lifted his other hand making a circle shape trying to make it resemble the planet from what he's seen of maps. "Then finally, the whole planet will be emptied and ready for purchase." He squeezed his hand again.
Kron thought back to the fear he felt not too long ago. Saiyans were not meant to fear, they were meant to BE feared. A mistake he will remedy.
He thought to why Raven had decided to kill him.
"You are a member of the Branwen Tribe, we are a family AND we watch each other's backs."
Family? Is that what a family is here? Raven had made sense in the first couple years he knew her, kill off the weak and take what you want. She may have been the only hope this species had of ever turning into a warrior race. But family.
"Raven, I'll show you the meaning of family to a Saiyan, when I drown you in every Branwen's blood!" Kron cackled and flew off through the forest.

Shorter chapter than usual, don't worry I'll make most of them long. Hope you still enjoyed. :)
Review Responces
ThatSaiyaGuy - Thank you, I got plenty more planned for him, hope you'll enjoy.
projectshadow06 - I hope I sated your curiosity. She's wrong about being responcible for him adapting to the old Branwen Tribe ways but that's not true, it's just it hit closer to home for him.
Your analysis on Kron and Saiyans in general is comepletely accurate. He would have little reason to join another group at least for some time.
Guest - I know. How's the story so far?
Power Scale- Appreciate the power scale but you don't need to put more, I'm good. I'm more interested in what you think of the actual story so far. Good? Bad?
SSJKiryu- Lol Don't be hard on your self, Limit Breaker has an OC named Aspera, took me a while to figure out it was a play on asperagus and thank you.
Instinct- I know, have faith I won't magically turn him good. All I ask is your trust. How's the story so far? Good, bad?
God Light- Ironic too, Raven hoped Kron would feel attatched but it worked the other way around. Saiyans are a tough nut to crack.
