Music
Dil giggled, kicking his feet as he watched Yucky and Tommy and the others talk. They had been playing him a bunch of different songs and he had been enjoying it very much! He didn't quite get what they meant by 'seeing things in his head' but he was having fun. Especially because he was being included! They were doing all sorts of funny, silly things and he found it a hoot!
"Well you can't expect a dumb dinky baby who just sits there and drools to know anything about music!" Yucky declared.
Well… maybe not that.
"That's not true, Angelica!" Tommy said angrily. "He may be kind of yucky…" Dil stopped smiling at that. He… wasn't yucky, was he? Though… his hands were sticky…"And, uh, he does sort of drool-" Tommy looked at Dil, the baby sucking up some spittle that had leaked from his mouth, "-but he can do all sorts of neat stuff too! I bet he just didn't like those songs! He can do it like the rest of us… I can prove it!" Tommy ran over and grabbed a box, opening it and causing music to begin playing. "You make me love you!" Tommy sang. "You knows I was gonna! You knows I was gonna!"
Dil smiled at that. Of course Tommy was gonna love him! He was Dil!
"You make me hug ya! Even those I really didn't wanna, covered in banana!"
Dil… frowned at that. He… he made his brother hug him? When he didn't want to? But… but Tommy loved his hugs! Sure, Dil many times was covered in goop when he wanted a hug and Tommy said he needed a bathy afterwards but…
"You make happy sometimes!" Tommy sang but Dil didn't smile at that. It was only sometimes? "Sometimes you make me sad." He did? He made Tommy… sad? "And sometimes Dilly you make me really mad!"
Dil cringed. Sad and mad? That was two! And two was more than one!
"But even when ya got the stinky diapee-" Dil reached down at patted his bottom… he did kinda need to go... "You're still the little brother I care for! I guess you make me love you!"
Tommy gave him a hug and Dil returned it… mostly to hide how upset he was.
The song… hadn't been that nice at all.
Well, Tommy singing it was nice. But it made it sound like Dil wasn't that good of a brother at all and Tommy was forced to care for him. To carry him around and involve him in games and… and…
Dil was so stressed he pooped his diapee. Just like Yucky said he would.
He sniffed as his mommy took him upstairs, away from his brother, and after a diapee change began to rock and sing to him. And the last thing he saw as he closed his eyes was Tommy smiling…
…and Dil knowing it wasn't because of anything he did.
