The Scourge of Anima
Daim the owner of the underground arena that Kron had fought in, was sitting comfortably in his office. Quite the long couple of days it's been, that giant monster came to town and almost wrecked the city. Thankfully his arena was still intact and with a few bribes to the right people he made sure that his arena can survive almost anything after all you never know what's going to happen in this shithole of a city.
Though he still had to ensure his audience
"Um, boss? Someone's here to see you."
He took a sip of his drink and turned in his chair. "Tell em to leave, I'm busy." He wasn't he just wanted a break for a while.
"Well, I-gah!"
There was a thud that sounded like his lackey hit the ground.
Daim turned around to see his employee on the ground and someone walked in the door. He smiled at who it was. "Oh, it's you, you know if he told me who came to see me I would've invited you in." It sounded like he was kissing up, he was but at the same time he was glad to see whoever came in, he then gave a mildly concerned look at the one on the ground. "He's not dead right? I can't have my fighters kill my employees." While he wasn't exactly the best boss he preferred no harm come to his staff.
It was a boy, Kron with no armor his tail waving around behind him, black pants green, and red boots who walked in. "I only knocked him out I came to see you and he was taking his time getting me to you."
"Good to hear, so what can I do for you?" Daim said in a friendly tone, he almost forgot how busy he was during the monster incident.
The Saiyan walked in front of his desk and his tail swayed. "I want to take you up on your offer, let me fight in those other arenas you were talking about as your champion."
"Well, that sounds fantastic but" He looked around. "Where's Raven?"
"Hiding somewhere, she and I are done so do we have a deal?"
"Hold your horse's kid." Daim raised his hands though he eyed him to make sure he wasn't annoyed. "I can't risk this, Raven would have my head if she found out I was having her protégé fight in my arena without her say so, I want to believe that you parted ways but I have to ensure my own safety, I can't fight like you, you understand right?"
Kron was annoyed at how cowardly this human was, although he gave him credit for admitting his weakness. He walked up to his desk and held out something wrapped in cloth and placed It on his desk.
Daim looked confused and looked at the child, he then opened the bag and was surprised at what he saw. It was a helmet, in three pieces, a Grimm-looking helmet with red outlines around it.
It was Raven's helmet, the Branwen Helm only it was in three pieces. Daim had some knowledge of the tribe but she knew Raven wouldn't just leave this behind with whoever made it take it off alive.
He looked over at the boy. "Is she dead?" She was a valuable customer, it'd be a shame if she was, though not 100% unpleasant if she was.
"Doubt it." He hoped she wasn't anyway, Kron wanted to give her a worse beating. "But I did roughly her up before she ran away to hide in her portal, it's been days she hasn't come to me since, she's probably licking her wounds somewhere."
Daim looked at the kid and at the helmet. He couldn't really believe it, this kid, 9 years old made Raven Branwen run. A powerful huntress-trained bandit chief, for a time she was a contender to be champion when she was just a little older than Kron, and the boy, beat her as an adult!
"Hmmm, well, if she hasn't portal to you then at the very least, she's not going to kill you or anyone around you." That's a good sign, hell great even He grinned. "Ah what the heck, I've been wanting you to be my champion since you first fought in my arena, welcome aboard!" He stuck his arm out.
Kron grabbed the man's hand and shook.
Once the agreement was done Daim then put a hand on his chin looking Kron up and down.
"Alright now then, before I set you up in a match we have to do something about your attire I assume you want your old armor back?"
The Saiyan thought of that but shook his head. "No, I'm done wearing that." He's already decided to give up on joining the Frieza Force, why dress like a wannabe?
"Ok, well I can try to get some tailors to get you a new outfit, you got any ideas of what you want?"
Kron looked at the broken mask of Raven and thought of his favorite Grimm. "I think I do." He smiled thinking of possible new aesthetics.
A few more days passed and in the Silver Daggers arena had Kron's first match since before the Raven incident.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, I hope your nerves have calmed from the monster visiting our less than the fair city, and are ready to enjoy yourselves at the Silver Daggers Arena!"
The crowd of fighting loving people cheered, Kutsinachi was already dangerous what's one more monstrous Grimm going to do to it?
"Alright well I got good news, we have one of our fighters, demanding to be our champion, to fight the other Underground Arenas scattered throughout Remnant, we haven't had anyone strong enough to last long as champion in years! But I personally believe we found just the one!" The announcer shouted making the crowd cheer further knowing what was coming next.
"I believe you all know who we're referring to!" He shouted the crowd cheered once again. "He's been here only for a couple of weeks, he's too young for the good stuff, but he's proven himself a real man! Say hello again to Kron!"
A spotlight opened on the arena's entrance and in came a short figure.
It was Kron but he was wearing a different outfit.
Black pants, black shoes, a tight long sleeve shirt, and most present, a white Berringel mask, the gorilla Grimm on his head covering his face but still showing his spikey hair.
The crowd cheered at the sight, loving the sight of their youngest and newest fighter who has proven himself a true warrior.
"Alright! Now let's get this underway!" The announcer yelled. "Kron to be our champion you have to win against 10 of our strongest combatants we have in the arena, one on one but nonstop, should you lose even once you will not be recognized as our champion and if you survive you will need to wait one year before trying again." The announcer explained the rules of wanting to be a champion.
Kron's heartbeat increased as he heard that, he clenched his fists excited at the selection process. If he would take his mask off the crowd could see a monstrous excited grin on his face.
The announcer continued. "Do you understand the rules and are ready to begin?"
Kron's tail swayed back and forth at a fast pace and he punched into his palm cracking his knuckles. "Yes!" He yelled clearly excited to begin proving himself.
"Alright, you heard him everybody let's see if he has what it takes to be the Silver Daggers Arena's champion!"
The crowd cheered some excited to see the boy fight, others excited to see him finally die, or just some wanting to see a blood bath not caring if he succeeds or not.
"Here you go!"
The entrance opened letting out a fighter with a battle axe.
"Begin!"
The warrior with the battle axe charged at the Saiyan.
Kron swayed back as his opponent swiped.
The older fighter swung a kick at the boy.
Kron rose his arm to block the kick, he then jumped to punch the large man in the stomach.
That made him keel over.
Kron then uppercut the large man and he finished his combo with a double kick into his chest.
The fighter hit the wall and looked to see Kron running at him looking like a small charging Berringel thanks to his mask.
He rose his axe and pressed a button turning it into a rifle. He pulled the trigger letting out a lightning embued bullet.
Kron immediately reached his hand out and caught the lightning dust bullet, electricity surrounded him.
Pain shot through his body as he grabbed the bullet.
His opponent smirked at how stupid the brat was for grabbing the bullet, he was ready to pull the trigger again.
Kron immediately tossed the bullet while he was still being electrocuted.
The bullet hit his opponent who couldn't dodge it out of surprise and it had a worse effect on him as his body was covered in electricity, he then fell to his knees and hit the ground.
Kron looked at his hand to see bruises from the shocking bullet he grabbed. 'Still not strong enough to tank lightning dust, but at least I can take it better than Raven's lightning.' In time he'll make sure she can't knock him out again like the first day she tried to kill him.
He then looked down at his opponent. He aimed his hand down looking ready to blast him, to finish him. But then remembered something Raven had said to him that bothered him. 'she would fear you when she found out about all the lives you stole.' He thought of Kali.
Well, there's no need to kill everyone he comes across anyway. He can spare one opponent or two.
Kron rose his arm in a fist and looked at the crowd to show off that he had won.
Most of the crowd cheered, there were some that were disappointed that for once Kron did not go for the kill even if his opponent was unconscious.
"Well done! Now let's keep going here's your second opponent!"
No one bothered to pick up his unconscious opponent and a second fighter came.
But Kron didn't care, he was ready to have another fight.
The second fight happened about as fast as the first without much more difficulty and another unconscious fighter was piled on top of the other he knocked out.
"Let's keep going, number three!"
That fight went just as quickly.
"Fourth match!"
It was a bit longer but not too difficult.
"Fifth match!"
He was starting to have to try.
"Sixth match!"
Not only was he having to try but he was getting tired.
"Seventh!"
He's starting to see why this challenge was difficult.
"Eighth!"
He decided that he would use his full strength from here.
"Ninth!"
That fight he won though now he admits he might be too exhausted for his next one.
"And now for the final fight before you take your place as champion!"
Kron breathed in and out, no one can tell because of his mask but he was getting tired from the nonstop fighting. Not that he'll let that stop him from becoming champion.
"Alright everybody let's see if we have our champion, let's begin the 10th fight." The announcer began. "This one's a treat and one I've been looking forward to since Kron's debut, say hello to Fiye the Bomb Maker!"
It was a brute-looking man, his arms looked almost as big as Hazels, and he wielded two maces.
Kron breathed in and out clearly tired from the fighting, those nine others were stronger than the usual combatants Raven had him fight, she must have kept him from them unless he agreed to rejoin the tribe.
The Saiyan took his stance while trying not to seem tired.
"Begin!"
The brute ran at him and slammed a mace where Kron was, doing so made a fire explosion beneath the Saiyan.
Kron then threw a punch to large man's face.
But the brute managed to dodge it with how tired Kron is and back swiped a mace across Kron's face creating a fire explosion.
Fiye's semblance: Explosive Property: Whatever Fiye holds become explosive on impact with anything else.
Kron was sent rolling until his back hit the wall.
He looked up to see Fiye was already in front of him and was already swinging one of his maces.
Kron's tail came up and wrapped around his opponent's wrist.
The Saiyan then kicked his hand forcing him to drop one of his maces.
Fiye swung his other mace only for Kron to grab his other wrist with his hand before the mace can touch him and smashed his elbow on top of his arm.
"Ahh!" He yelled as he was forced to drop his mace.
Kron cackled and he let go of his wrists to uppercut the man, then he spun kick his head to the right and then palm struck his chest sending him across the arena floor.
Now that he was down Kron started walking toward him to make sure he wouldn't get up.
And just like that Fiye jumped back up and glared at Kron, he looked over at his maces far away and back down at the runt.
Kron smiled at the angry grown man. "Come on, fight me unarmed!" He yelled as he ran at him.
Fiye stop glaring and smirked as he took a stance with his open hands out in front of him.
The Saiyan jumped and threw a kick at his head.
But he was still exhausted from the nine other fights and Fiye managed to catch his wrist.
Kron growled and threw another punch but his other wrist was also caught.
The brute smiled and immediately slammed the boy to the ground.
Kron then began to glow and also exploded against the floor.
Creating smoke around the two.
In the smoke, Kron who was exhausted had been injured by the literal explosive toss. "Why did I explode?"
He was then lifted up to the face of Fiye who smiled.
"My semblance doesn't just work on objects."
Kron didn't anything for a bit and then he realized, the maces explode because of his semblance it must work on people too. "Oh right, that's why you're called the Bomb Maker, that makes se-!"
Fiye then slammed him against the ground creating another explosion, he then lifted him and ran out of the smoke and into the wall of the arena and slammed him into it creating an explosion again.
The brute then let go of the boy and picked up his two maces and looked down at the brat. He chuckled. "Guess I'll finish you off." But he stopped when he noticed something.
The Saiyan got up and was shaking.
Fiye looked at him seeming to struggle and he was making noises. He was amused. "What brat, are you crying?" He chuckled. "Pathetic"
"What's this? Could it be that our champion candidate is shaking with fear at his last match?" The announcer questioned making the audience wonder if Kron was actually faltering.
"Hahahahaha!" Kron was actually laughing. He was having so much fun! He was worried that the arena wouldn't have too much fun but he can actually struggle!
"Never mind folks it looks like our boy is just having the time of his life in there!" The crowd was actually hyped to see their champion contestant having fun.
Fiye growled angrily. "Little brat, I'm going to make you regret setting foot in this arena!" He yelled, he should be the champion, not this brat.
Beneath Kron's mask was a smile that showed he wanted more. The Saiyan ran towards Fiye ignoring his own fatigue.
The brute ran ready to blow this brat to smithereens.
Once the two were in attacking distance, Kron threw a punch aimed at the man's midsection.
Fiye slammed a mace aimed for the top of the child's head.
Kron decided to use what he learned from his fight with Sienna and kicked up Fiye's swinging arm redirecting it up.
Fiye immediately went for a swipe across Kron's head.
But the boy ducked underneath and swept kicked the brute making him fall backward and hit the ground.
Kron then quickly grabbed his legs and swung him away.
Fiye was sent flying in the air. "Damn it!" He yelled as he looked down to see the brat doing something else with his hands.
Kron put his hands up with large balls of energy, they then shrunk and Kron squeezed his fists while holding them up. "Berringel Burst!" He then aimed his hands forward and released them firing his signature energy wave.
Fiye screamed as the blast hit him making a small explosion appear in the middle of the arena.
The Saiyan fell on one knee exhausted.
Now unconscious the fighter then fell and landed on the pile of unconscious opponents Kron had faced non-stopped.
Everyone in the crowd was silent for a bit.
The announcer yelled. "And with that Kron has proven that he is our champion! Meet our representative in the underworld, Kron the Scourge of Anima! And wish him luck against the arenas of Vale and Vacuo, to prove we have the strongest fighter!"
Everyone in the arena cheered that the bloodthirsty child had won and had earned his spot to become champion.
Kron breathed in and out exhausted, he took his mask off, he revealed his face that was leaking blood out of his mouth. He looked at the cheering crowd screaming his name over and over again.
Not only did he beat Raven but he also has what she offered him, if she was aware then she must be humiliated. What could be better than that?! Besides her head on a pike of course.
He smiled and licked the blood from his lips. "It's good to be back." He said simply with a grin, he was back and had an audience that appreciated him. He'll take his time proving himself against the other arenas.
Kron would then enter the Arena in the outskirts of Vale called the Dead End Ring as well as the Arena in the outskirts of Vacuo The Mirage.
After fighting in both arenas he will have proven himself as the champion of the underworld fighting arenas.
And he would take his time to enjoy it for years to come proving over and over again that he was the strongest.
On top of that, he would get stronger and stronger over the years.
During that time his actions would set waves across the world making many in the world think of new actions to take in response to the presence of Kron or as they may know him, the Beast of Anima.
8 years later
Patch
In the forest, there was a young woman with long blonde hair, purple liac eyes, with an orange workout top.
She was throwing punches in the air, shadowboxing to improve herself.
"Yang!"
The girl stopped mid-punch and turned to see a blonde man holding an envelope. "Dad?"
He walked forward and handed it over to his daughter. "It's from Beacon take a look."
Yang grabbed the letter and opened the envelope and smiled. "Ha! I knew it!" She yelled as she showed her father to show that she was accepted into Beacon Adademy.
"Yes! Congratulations Yang! I knew you could do it!" Taiyang got her into a hug much to her dismay.
Yang laughed as she hugged back but then tried to get out her father's grip. "Ok, ok dad, I know I'm awesome but come on ease up."
Her father let go and smiled in pride at her daughter's accomplishment.
"Oh man! Can't wait for Ruby to get home, she's gonna freak!" She giggled thinking of her little sister gushing over her going to one of the most famous schools in the world.
A chuckle came from her father but then he frowned and decided to ask. "Yang, I'm proud of you for making it but, you didn't go just because it's the same school your mother and I did right?"
"Hm?" Yang turned to the man and put a hand through her hair uncomfortably. "I mean its' the most prestigious school where the best huntsman graduate from, but I mean maybe that's part of the reason." She said looking away from her father.
"Hmmm" Taiyang stared at her but sighed. "Look, Yang, I told you that I will tell you more about your mother when your ready, going to Beacon won't take you to her any faster. You might as well wait until you are ready."
Yang sighed and rolled her eyes. He always said that whenever her mother came up in conversation. "I know, I know, but hey Ozpin was there when you guys were there right, so if he were to tell me a bit about her that's fine right?"
A sigh came from him, he'll have to give Ozpin a call later. "If you can't wait and are going to go after her anyway, just remember this, your mother has a lot of enemies that can't find her either, and many of them wouldn't have a problem with settling for you if they can't find your mother."
The long-haired girl smirked at that. "Don't worry about that, I can take any of them on." She said confidently.
Well, confidence can help. "Just promise me you won't get into too much trouble, alright?"
"Yeah, yeah," Yang said rolling her eyes.
"Now, come on, that last punch was looking sloppy let me help with that." He said taking a stance and standing opposite of Yang.
"Sloppy?" Yang asked as her eyes turned red. "I'll show you sloppy."
She threw a punch only to be blocked followed by another at her smirking father who was blocking.
Yang always thought her father was overprotective, that was probably part of why he hasn't told her about her mother. But after what happened to Summer, who looked happy to be a mother to her and Ruby, she had to know why was Raven herself not here for them. Was it for a greater cause? Was she an accident? What happened? She just needed to know why she left.
And no matter what she won't stop until she finds her.
As for anyone of Raven's enemies her dad warned her about she'll just knock them out and she'll make them tell her everything they know about her mom.
At least that's what she thought, she would think differently if only she knew one particular person who holds a grudge against Raven, she might never want to come across him.
Dr. Merlot's Island
A bullhead had descended down on a landing pad.
A woman with long black hair hanging over the right side of her chest, golden eyes, wearing a red dress with a black collar and black heels.
Cinder was annoyed having to suddenly come here on short notice. She was supposed to go to Vale and see how plans are going with Torchwich, especially since Beacon's semester is only a couple of months from starting. But she can never disobey her mistress. Once she was on the island she immediately didn't like it. She stepped into the only building on the island.
"Ah, good to meet you in person." A man with white hair with a robot arm was there, Salem already had an annoying scientist why add another one?
"Hello Dr. Merlot, I am here as requested." She did her best to be polite but her tone made it clear that she did not want to be there.
"Of course" Merlot either didn't notice the tone or didn't care, he seemed just so excited, he simply gesture for her to follow him.
Cinder did as she looked around at the laboratory, with many tubes and mutated Grimm with green crystals around. While she was annoyed she wondered why he wasn't a part of Salem's inner circle for as long as Watts. Speaking of she was curious. "Where's Watts?"
"He said he had business to take care of for another project we're working on." Merlot responded and the two stopped in front of a door. "Here is the testing room, let me know when you're ready, and I'll release my greatest creation."
Cinder found this to be so beneath her, but walked along until she was in an empty and spacious room. "I'm ready" Cinder demanded to have this done soon.
Merlot smiled as he pressed a button and a door on the other side of the room opened.
Out walked a Grimm, a different Grimm than anything Cinder had seen before.
It was in the shape of a human, it's mask was a human skull and it had the armor of a regular human's bones. The only thing that made it somewhat intimidating was the green crystals on it's back that decorated all of Merlot's mutated Grimm.
"Is this a joke?" Cinder was unimpressed and greatly considered this a waste of her time. This thing looked so weak, it was thin and didn't seem anything speacial.
Merlot ignored her and only cackled. "Begin the test."
The Grimm charged at her and swung an arm at her.
Cinder dodged the punch easy enough and kicked the Grimm's chest making it stagger.
Once off balance Cinder then waved their aimed hand and released a fireball.
The Grimm backed away as it was engulfed in flames. Once the fire was out it bounced back and threw itself at her.
Cinder sidestepped as the creature missed. She eyed up at Dr. Merlot who was smiling. Why? The creature wasn't doing well. While she didn't care what one of Salem's mad scientists thought she figured she wasted enough time. She turned toward the creature as it charged at her ready to swing another ordinary punch.
Cinder had one eye glow from her half maiden power and dodged its strike.
It struck again but Cinder caught it and created fire melting the arm off.
The beast was not deterred as it swung its jaws at her attempting to bite her.
Cinder conjured a black sword and swung it up its jaw.
Cinder rolled her eyes she knew it would be a waste of time.
The creature made no reaction and began to fade, but rather than completely fade away it left behind a green crystal half of Cinder's size on the ground.
Cinder eyed it curiously, that was unexpected
"That'll be enough Miss Fall." He said in a jovial tone.
Cinder rose an eyebrow as she looked down at the crystal but shrugged. Hopefully, Salem will give her a more fulfilling assignment. As she walked out of the testing room she sees Merlot.
"It's too weak to be of any use, I'd make some adjustments if I were you doctor."
Merlot said nothing as they walked away. He was in the testing room and lifted up the large crystal in it was the mask of his new Grimm.
"Hehehe, don't worry you'll try again soon." He said encouragingly to the crystal, the same way how a parent would talk to their child when something doesn't go their way.
The mask inside the crystal shook as if it knew what Merlot said.
Salem's Castle
Salem had looked at the dead bodies before her and looked at a Dust crystal that was black.
"My lady"
"Your grace"
The witch turned to her most devoted follower. "Tyrian, Hazel, I'm glad your here."
Tyrian fought the urge to swoon before his goddess and bowed. "What would you have me do my lady?" He asked.
Hazel merely remained quite ready to follow her bidding.
Salem waved a hand towards a table with many crystals on it, they looked like dust crystals.
"Tyrian my dear, I need you to take these dust crystals, and carry them on your person when you take care of today's targets," Salem explained.
The crazed assassin walked to the crystals and examined them. They looked strange, like simply glass, they don't have any color to them at all just see-through. But being the devout follower he is he did not question. "Yes, my goddess."
"Your grace" Hazel couldn't help but be curious. "If I may ask, what kind of dust are they?"
Tyrian didn't care to know but even he was curious about these mysterious crystals.
"It's a new form of Dust that I have created."
The brute couldn't help but be amazed at that. "That, you created, but how? Dust has existed since the dawn of man."
Well, the dawn of the second man but Salem didn't need to correct him. "Well I had a bit of help, the Crown has been handing us plenty of test subjects to use, with it I have successfully created a new form of Dust that will ensure everything goes in our favor."
"Amazing my goddess, I always knew you were capable of anything," Tyrian said recognizing how no one else could create a new form of dust, creating new dust is like inventing a new law of the universe, only she could do so.
Hazel looked at the crystal still wondering why it looked like glass.
"Do not be afraid to ask more Hazel," Salem instructed him. "I'm more than happy to explain what it does, provided you and Tyrian do not use it without asking me."
The brute stopped looking at the crystal and bowed his head. "Of course your grace."
"I will never use it without your permission." The scorpion Faunus bowed.
Salem smiled at her associates and began. "It is something that I've thought of to counter this boy's mysterious power. Whatever it is may surpass a Maiden for all we know."
Hazel couldn't help but be curious about that, could that boy truly surpass a maiden? He remembered how strong he was when he met him the second time, he had progressed far since their fight before that and is willing to believe that he got even stronger than given that it's been 8 years since he's seen him.
"It is only a guess since we cannot identify what it is exactly, we cannot be reckless with him so I created an equalizer for him." She held up a Dust crystal though it didn't look the same it was black, no recorded Dust has ever been this color.
Tyrian couldn't help but ask this time. "M-my lady is that another form of Dust?! Have you created two new Dust crystals?!"
Salem couldn't help but chuckle at her most loyal servant's reaction. "No my dear, it's the same Dust, this is what you call its next stage." She turned around to the pile of bodies, the test subjects the Crown had picked to 'volunteer' for her experiment.
She lifted up the crystal.
The woman felt a bit of sorrow as she heard a small scream from her new black Dust.
She went on to explain what exactly this Dust is, Tyrian smiled while Hazel's stomach dropped hearing that.
Atlas
A man was staring out of a window of Atlas's strongest military base. He had short black hair and wore a white uniform with one hand covered in a glove and one free.
James Ironwood always called himself a realist, he would take whatever course of action that was necessary for the kingdom of Atlas, both before and after he became general of Atlas's army.
That was probably why he was chosen to know about the secret war happening that most of mankind doesn't know.
He's acted accordingly with Ozpin, but there were times when his views clashed with his. He listened to his strategies and has followed up on them but there were times when he changed it or refused him for the greater good.
For one he had asked if their group can include a new member of their unnamed order against Salem. Ozpin's reply was to wait until they were sure this potential member can be trusted.
Normally he would begrudgingly listen to said advice, he had lived for eons perhaps he sees something he doesn't.
But not this time.
There were worrying reports of the 'Scourge of Anima' a young man with a destructive semblance running around fighting huntsman and Grimm at random. He was strong, had possible ties to the Branwen tribe, and with the mask perhaps ties to the White Fang. He had been seen on the outskirts of Vacuo and Vale. He wasn't in the cities but he was seen fighting both Grimm and huntsman there, no one quite figured out what he was doing in these places, he considered it lucky that he wasn't seen anywhere near Atlas.
Yet.
While Salem is the worst enemy of Remnant, the White Fang is an enemy of Atlas, and if that boy is on their side then all of Atlas is in danger. Even if he wasn't he couldn't be left alone.
He can't follow Ozpin's word on this, he'll do what he must answer to him when it's time.
The door opened revealing someone he wanted to see.
"General, you wanted to see me?"
Ironwood turned to the woman and smiled. "Yes Specialist Schnee, thank you for coming."
Winter Schnee was a beautiful woman with white hair in a military bun wearing a white military outfit.
"Specialist Schnee, I am going to ask you some questions please answer honestly."
Winter was a bit confused but being professional as expected she merely replied straightaway. "Yes sir."
James felt a bit guilty, she was fully grown, a soldier, a high-ranking one at that. But she was still young, maybe that was why Ozpin wanted to hold off on having her join the order.
"Would you be willing to give your life for this kingdom?"
"Yes sir." She said with no hesitation.
"Would you be willing to give up any chance at a normal life?"
"Of course," Winter said again with no hesitation.
Ironwood always knew the loyalty of his best, these questions were really just a formality. "Would you be willing to push your loved ones away for the sake of your kingdom?"
She thought these questions were strange, she thought of her sister, she loved her and would die for her. But she was still a soldier of Atlas. "Yes sir." She said with no reservation.
The general nodded that was all he needed. "Come with me please."
Winter walked by the general's side, while she kept herself professional she couldn't help but wonder why he asked these questions and where were they going.
"Specialist Schnee, what you will see and hear must be confidential, understood?" Ironwood asked while they walked to an elevator.
"Yes sir" Winter replied loyally.
Once they made it to the right floor they exited, Winter didn't recognize this place it must be a floor that only the general and few others were aware of.
She looked ahead to see a woman with aged white hair wearing an oxygen mask and unconscious. She looked feeble and on her last legs.
Winter's face falters from her professional look to confusion. She wanted to ask who that woman was and why she was in a place she didn't recognize but her discipline kept her in check.
James walked by to the woman's side and turned to his most trusted soldier. "Specialist Schnee, this is Fria, she is what you call a Maiden." Ironwood began.
Winter didn't talk and only listened to what the general had to say.
She didn't see today becoming so eventful, nor did she think she'd have to make an important choice.
A choice she will make to not only protect Atlas but the world.
Kutsinactchi Silver Daggers Arena
It had been eight years since the battle against Raven.
In the Silver Daggers Arena Daim was waiting at the entrance waiting for someone. He never thought this would happen, he was disappointed but what could he do? There was nothing that could force his greatest asset into staying.
It's a shame, but he had no choice.
He heard footsteps and looked towards the corridor that lead to his champion's room.
Daim breathed in and out, he had grown a little fearful of the champion he'd known since he was a child, he grew especially fearful of him with how easy he took out opponents almost too easy. He was actually grateful that he didn't kill most of them, otherwise, he probably would have just left this business behind and try to get far from the Silver Daggers Arena as much as possible.
"Hello, Kron I guess this is it," Daim said trying to keep himself calm before the warrior.
A young man stood in front of Daim, with black spikey hair pointed in two directions, he wore a black tight suit top with a cape and hood over it. He also wore a white sash on his waist with some of the sash hanging on his left side, black pants, and black taichi shoes. A long brown monkey tail was swaying behind him.
It was 17-year-old Kron standing before his employer.
"Yes Daim," Kron had said.
"Y'know kid I wish you had faked a lost that last match, would've made some nice money betting against you."
Kron glared at his former manager.
"Your right, your right!" The manager yelled not wishing to anger his former champion. "Sorry, thank you for all the work you've done, you ever want to come back to fight again you know where to find me."
The Saiyan couldn't help but chuckle. It was fun but this place and the other arenas weren't really that fun to him anymore, it was just routine. The first couple of years it was somewhat difficult, but over time he became too much for the other fighters. Too much for the other 'champions. Now it was child's play. He's willing to bet that now he was too much for not only common huntsman but the strongest. Perhaps even stronger than Raven with that weird power she has.
Daim looked at his hand that shook a bit carrying a cloth. "That's all your taking?"
Kron looked down at the cloth wrapped around his prize possession. "Yeah, it's all I need."
"What about the books you got in your room?"
"Eh, I've read them all already many times," Kron said. "I now know the history of Anima forwards and backward, I'll get new books to learn more about the other continents and kingdoms."
"Well try not to have too much attention kid, you might bite off more than you can chew," Daim advised though he doubted the kid would need it given how his matches seem to be easy to him, even if he did listen.
"Sure" The Saiyan replied and started to walk away.
"But before you go kid, I got a favor to ask you."
Kron stopped and turned to him. "What?' He asked annoyed that he just wanted to be on his way.
"I just, need you to do one more fight."
"Not interested, you don't have anyone strong enough."
"Hang on, I just" He paused knowing the risk of asking this. "I need you to fake a lost for me."
Kron didn't say anything nor did he turn around he just didn't move.
"L-look, I just, I can make a great profit you lose just once against a new fighter I can find, if you do I'll give you half the profit." Daim continued. "What do ya say?"
"What do you think?" The Saiyan asked as he started to walk away.
Daim can see that he was being ignored. "Hey wait!" He yelled starting to lose his polite facade. "Don't just walk away from me! You owe me! I had you transferred across Remnant, to Vale and Vacuo! I risked my hide to cover for you whenever you decided to pick fights with Huntsman patrolling those areas! You got any idea how hard it was for me?!"
Kron didn't even listen as he kept walking.
"Don't you walk away from me!" Daim shouted as he grabbed his shoulder. "Hey! I risked so much for you to compete, not to mention I risked the idea of Raven coming for me, you owe me big kid! So don't you dare think you can j-gah!"
Kron immediately turned around and grabbed Daim by the neck.
His bodyguards wanted to run at him to protect their employer but Kron gave them one mean look that froze them in their tracks.
The Saiyan then focused on his ex-manager. "Listen Daim, you and I were just tools for each other. Also if I remember correctly, you said I could do whatever I wanted as long as I never go into the city or give away the other arena's location, and I did just that." He explained to the choking Daim. "The deal was to fight and win, and I did, that was the deal nothing else. You never said anything about losing if I left. I followed my end of the deal, I don't owe you anything, got it?"
Daim couldn't talk due to being choked so he just nodded his head.
The young man then released him and dropped him on the ground.
The bald man coughed as he breathed in and out of his breath. He didn't say anything as his ex-champion walked away, he glared at him angrily, he felt he did a lot for that shit and he got the short end of the stick in return. Now he's left without a champion, he was hoping if he faked a loss he can at least make enough money to retire, now he was left with nothing but looking for a new champion.
Kron had placed his Berringel mask on his face and put his hood up hiding his hair and only showing his mask. The young man left the arena and walked in a direction leading out of the city.
Once he was out he floated and looked down at the city he pretty much spent his childhood in. "Time to move on." He then flew off somewhere far away from the city.
A few hours after he left Daim was in his office annoyed at what happened, he had to think of what he can do, he was so close to retirement. That ungrateful shit left him high and dry. What was he going to do now?
"Sir, someone's come to see you."
Daim thought of how familiar this was and smiled, he had hoped that he had seen reason! "Let 'em in!"
The door opened and Daim already got up from his seat. "Kron my boy, I knew you'd come aro-" He stopped mid-sentence. "W-what are you doing here?"
It was a man with black hair, red eyes like Raven's, a white suit with a red tattered cape, black pants and shoes, and a sword hanging from the back of his waist. He took out a flask and took a swig.
"Heh, wish you were that excited to see me Daim, long time no see."
"I asked what are you doing here," Daim said annoyed. "Qrow Branwen."
"Ah, you remember my name!" Qrow said excitingly as he took a seat while taking another swig from his flask. "Alright, I'll cut to the chase, I wanna know about your champion, or should I say ex- champion?"
Kron had flown for a while up in the mountains until he stumbled to an unassuming cave, he flew down and landed in front of it. He walked right in. "This is the right cave right?" He asked himself as if he had been here before. He looked around until he spotted what he was looking for.
It was a large metal orb with a red window on it.
"Ah, there you are." He said walking towards it. It was the space pod he stole to come to this planet. Funny, he didn't think everything would turn out this way.
Kron then walked towards a boulder with a flat surface, he placed the cloth on top of it, and placed his own Berringel mask next to it.
He took the cloth off what it was carrying, it was Raven's mask put back together, but still the very same mask he took as his trophy after defeating Raven.
He looked down at it and grinned. "Why haven't you shown up yet?" He asked the mask as if he was talking to Raven. "It's been seven years, you'd think you'd try to finish what you started."
Kron looked down at the mask and glared at it. He thought of what Raven had done, tried to kill him for upholding Branwen's ideals, tried to trick him into thinking she was n his side, and then. He thought of Kali, how good she was to him, how she wanted him to get better before training, how she wanted him around. To this day it still confused him given that even though he gave up on trying to cleanse the planet, he was still a Saiyan. All that time she never tricked him, she cared about him.
But it doesn't matter, he tried to kill her husband and Blake's father. Saiyans back home wouldn't care much about that but not here. No, that doesn't matter now. Neither she nor Blake will want to see him again after what had tried to do to Ghira, or after what he did to Sienna.
After shaking those thoughts away he looked back down at Raven's mask. "Where you are, I will find you, and we'll see who is strong and who is weak." He said chuckling.
Kron then looked around. "Hm, I found this cave so I could hide my pod, but now that I'm not staying in the Arena anymore I can start making this into a home." He said. "Big enough for a library, or to store trophies." He had a toothy grin thinking of making his own personal museum.
The Saiyan then walked out of the cave and looked over the land of Anima. "I don't really regret choosing not to wipe out this planet." He said basking in the freedom of not being just another boring Saiyan foot soldier, and of Kali and Blake. "But I'm really looking forward to the fun I'll have that I'm no longer in hiding."
"I wonder where I should start string trouble first."
Remnant's destiny is going to be shaken tremendously.
Whew that was fun.
So in case I did a lousy job of describing it Kron's outfit is the same as the commissioned art Fortuitous Meeting, none of my designs hold a candle to that outfit. It was what I really wanted something similar to Garou's outfit from One punchman with a hood and mask. I'll try to put a deviantart of it myself in the future.
Also in case you missed it, Volume 2 starts with three months until Beacon's semester aka RWBY Volume 1. For those of you wanting him to meet Team RWBY. Don't worry, I promise he will meet them soon and we will see them every now and then before then. Before that Kron has to have a reason to find them and he will, we just gotta wait a bit longer and I promise they will be relevant more relevant than the humans in DBZ.
Alright, so like I said before Kron is basically too strong for at least most of RWBY and will still get stronger. That being said I got ideas to level the playing field, Salem had time to make something new and Ozpin might also have something in the works. These ideas are from other anime and games that I think you'll like.
Before then were going to see Kron going around picking fights with characters we love and what I assume the majority of us hates. I think you guys will like that to before he meets Team RWBY.
Now I got one thing to ask you before we keep going.
The previous saga, what was your favorite chapter and your last favorite chapter. Please let me know in the reviews along with what u think of this chapter.
Review Responces
DaddyRylanor: Yes Sarge! Forgive me, Sarge!
Actually Sarge he also stole his mothers pod and pretended to be a soldier so now that's twice the reason for a firing squad. I got an idea for the Oozaru or great ape sarge, I think you'll like it.
Well Kron has a grudge so, you'll likely get to see her get her ass beat again if he manages to find her sarge. As for Frieza, well if he does appear in this story you might get your wish Salem is immortal.
I have my uniform Sarge my Power Armor fully charged and repaired ready for duty Sarge!
Guest: Kron would love to be in Game of thrones since there's so much lore to study, not sure how long they'd last though.
Guest: Well he was a Gladiator champion, but you were basically right and now he's just out to have fun picking fights and more than happy to stir trouble.
sarmadsadiq95: Glad you enjoyed it, well Kron holds a grudge, he's not letting Raven go until he knows she's dead so there's hope.
Idea Spirit Cont: You got that right. Kron's character is about wanting to be free, no loyalty to anyone but himself. But he does have a soft spot for Kali and even Blake, but that's it.
Well it looks like he's confident that he can afford to cause trouble now, let's see if he's right.
Zenkai sounds cooler so I'll keep calling it that
Spirit Control can be a possibility, if Kron bothers to experiment with it, right now though he's more concerned with power.
Literally useless: No worries he won't in Chapter 1 in the Authors Notes I made a joke that Team RWBYK will not be a thing. I've seen other stories do 5th team member, while it can be entertaining it also doesn't really make things much more interesting most of the time.
WingNUT48:Oh hey, been awhile glad to see your still enjoying it. I'll do my best to keep u entertained.
Guest: Well, they certainly wouldn't want Salem to nab him would they? We'll have flashbacks to show what he's been up to in the coming chapters to show what he's been up to.
Runeion: Thank you, I'm glad u enjoyed now I'm gonna see if I can top it. We'll see if not him I'm sure someone else can do that, but who knows elemental Ki attacks can be useul.
ThatSaiyaGuy:Glad you liked it I had fun writing that fight, had a lot of built up. Yup, killing Raven would have been a waste for the story.
Yup, finally got the title in, and it only took 20 chapters lol. And we got Kron to have character development, now he's at least not going to do mass genocide but now he might cause trouble with the planet, Remnant is still his playground here's hoping he won't do too much damage lol.
In the coming chapters we'll see 17 year old Kron's limits. I will say he is too much for any regular rwby character at this point. Lol, also we gotta remember Kron may have had training but nothing like Master Roshi's training or beyond, so he's even less than beginning of Z Goku but we'll see for how long.
Raven will be showing in this arc, well when she wakes up she might fear Kron more than Salem, you'll see some time in this arc. Can't wait to show you what I've come up with in this arc.
Hope the wait was worth it!
epontoja521: That is true I hope I did a good job with him, show that he's a saiyan but give him realistic challenges.
Nekses: Fugitive will be an understatement for Kron, especially with a white fang looking mask.
JSmooth: He will, I got an idea of who and when. Also, yep, she does what she does best. Runaway from problems she caused. Hope she gets a redemption in the show.
Guest-Questionar: I'm glad you enjoy it!
Kron will not be a fifth member, while he will eventually be on RWBY's side he will not attend Beacon or any school, there's no reason for him to, the only thing he'd gain is learning history, but other than that he wouldn't get anything he wants. He'd probably feel trapped in a school.
Guest: She would've been the first magic wielding Saiyan that is scary.
jnautiking: I got a good idea on what I want to do, I will say it will definitely be way different than canon.
suppes1: Always do, he will soon I promise :)
BunkerfreakHD: Hope the wait was worth it!
Flowjam: Thank you!
Whew that was a lot of reviews, thank you guys, it makes me happy that this many of you care enough to give me your thoughts. I hope I can make this story worth your time.
Anyway I think I'll go to bed now it's really late now so hope you guys enjoyed and see you later.
I'll come back when I finish my other story's current arc just two chapters, can't wait to see you guys soon.
Have an awesome day!
