Art: The reflection of his mind
I haven't done this but looking at this makes me think I should try to do something like this. For those of you who don't know Kron is under the effects of a Grimm that basically has him trapped in a dream world, won't say more in case you care about spoilers. Should watch RWBY Ice Queendom to get if you haven't seen it. Appreciate this art.

Anyway on with the chapter.
Misfortunate Timing
It had been two weeks since Kron left the arena.
Today was almost noon.
In the forest, there were five people in a car driving on a road in Anima.
Four huntsmen were in the car and one man in a suit looked nervous.
"You alright? Don't worry we'll get you safely to Mistral."
The man looked extremely anxious. "Y-yes, thank you."
The huntsman wondered why this man was so nervous, the mission board said that he was looking to be safely escorted to Mistral from any bandits or Grimm that might come across their path.
Even though the bandits aren't much of a threat these days, the Branwen Tribe hasn't been seen in almost a decade, the other groups weren't as much of a threat either. Grimm wasn't much in these parts either.
So, who is he worried that is coming for him? Maybe he's just nervous.
"Hey, Chartreuse!" He yelled to the driver. "Our client's anxious, how much further."
Chartreuse was a man with sickly green hair in a black Gi with yellow outlines. Clearly a practitioner of some martial art.
The fighter glanced back at them. "Should be in less than an hour and th-"
Suddenly a figure appeared in front of the speeding car they then put their hands on the car making the vehicle crash and stop without harming the figure.
Chartreuse screamed. "What the?"
The other two huntsman in the back were caught by surprise and the man in the suit looked even more terrified.
Now in action, the huntsman leader got out of the car to see what he hit.
It was a young man, with a tight black top, hood and cape, black pants, a white belt, and black shoes. Most notably a Beringel Mask. And a brown monkey tail swaying back and forth. He's been appearing for weeks now; it was the Scourge of Anima!
"Everyone out of the car now!" Chartreuse yelled his men got out two protecting the man in the suit looking freaked out.
"You!" The green-haired huntsman focused on him. "I know who you are, you should surrender and come with us." If he were honest, it was a bluff from what he's heard they have no chance, he only hoped they were exaggerated.
Kron looked at the leader, his top was a familiar black and yellow Gi. The others didn't really look all that interesting. But he had to stay focused.
Maybe he'll have some fun with him, but first business. He pointed at the man in the suit. "Hand him over, just for a bit, I have questions. After we're done talking take him wherever you want."
The leader looked at the businessman and scoffed. So, he was right to be suspicious, this man thought the Scourge was chasing him and for some reason, he didn't want anyone to know why. Must mean he was involved in something that can land him in trouble.
But that's for later, they couldn't just give to his demands.
"Whatever the case, you've been running around causing trouble to many huntsmen for weeks, we can't just give you what you want and let you go, so please come with us." It was a bluff; he knew that it was futile.
Kron only chuckled. "Good" Always nice to have a fight with someone in a gi.
"Formation A!" The leader shouted.
One huntsman dug himself into the ground, likely using some earth control semblance another jumped on the car and high into the air.
The last huntsman only grabbed the guy in the suit. "Come on! We gotta go!" He yelled at their suspicious client to get him to safety.
Chartreuse jumped forward and threw a back fist strike.
Out of respect for someone attacking unarmed instead of needing to Kron jumped back from the fighting move.
And as soon as his feet touched the ground two hands appeared and grabbed his ankles.
"Hmm?" Kron asked looking down, then he looked up to see the other huntsman that jumped earlier with a spear pointed down at him.
So, the leader wanted him to dodge so he can be grabbed in place and be stabbed by the spearman. Not a bad plan.
Though, it was in vain.
'So many options. What to do?' He glanced at the last huntsman running with what he needed. 'Eh, better make this quick.'
Getting his priorities straight, Kron grabbed the spear before it reached his neck pulled him close and drilled a vicious straight punch into his stomach making him cough. Then he headbutts the spearmen knocking him back against a tree.
The leader looked shocked at this, but it wasn't over, he threw himself at his opponent intending a jump kick.
Before it could connect Kron flew up with the huntsman underground still holding on to his ankles and avoided the kick aimed at him.
Chartreuse's kick took out a tree and he turned towards their opponent flying away with one of his men still holding on.
The leader looked shocked. 'So fast! Too fast!' He didn't really see him move. "Ruddy!" He yelled at the huntsman who went underground.
Kron slammed his head threw a couple of trees until he appeared in front of the huntsman and the man in the suit.
The scourge of anima lifted Ruddy by his head showing how beat up he was, his Aura glowed and shattered. He then dropped him and looked at the two. He pointed at the man in the suit and waved his finger signaling to bring him.
Raye pulled out a dagger and pressed a button turning it into a pistol. "Run!" He instructed the client.
The man in the suit ran off to escape.
Before he could pull the trigger, Kron was already within arm's length of Raye.
He brought his hand into a chopping motion and struck with a forward chop. It hit his throat and took the wind out of him as he fell back and hit the ground unconscious.
'Must've been the weak link.' He thought given how simple that was. He glanced over to see the man in the suit still running off.
There's still one more huntsman left but the Scourge of Anima already has a way to ensure he won't escape.
Kron then raised his hands making tiny yellow Ki bolts. "Guided Swarm" The ten energy orbs grew and were sent toward the man.
Not to attack though.
The orbs came in front of the man and then surrounded him, basically in a cage of explosives. He got on the ground looking scared for his life.
'There we go, now for the last one.' He decided to take his time with this one, hopefully, he'll be as fun as he looked.
Chartreuse came and rose his fists. "Hey! Let him go! He might be shady but still, you can't just kill him!"
"I won't kill him." Kron rolled his eyes from behind the mask "I need him to remember? Those orbs are to keep him in place, he'll be safe if he won't move."
"Tch" The leader looked around, everyone was on the ground, he was on his own. Raye, Ruddy, and Gole. This boy knocked them out so quickly! They were veteran huntsmen, and they were looking like a joke!
Kron stared down the last member of the huntsman team who was in a fighting stance, his left arm was lower with a fist and his right arm was up with a fist. He recognized that though he wanted to be sure.
Chartreuse threw multiple straights which Kron swayed, the huntsman then ducked to sweep and kick his legs.
The Saiyan quickly threw a punch to his opponent's face before the sweep kick could land and sent him rolling away.
The huntsman then jumped up and wiped some blood from his mouth and then took his fighting stance again.
Kron chuckled able to recognize these moves, there was no doubt. "Taijitu Tai?"
"You know it." He wasn't surprised.
The Scourge of Anima cackled and quoted. "Strike first, strike hard, no mercy!" He shouted the fighting style's 'Way of the Fist' philosophy. "Right?"
His opponent looked angry at him, he remembered some younger boy came to his temple and done something unforgivable. "You sure know a bit."
He then dashed forward with a chop aimed at his neck which Kron blocked, he then performed a straight kick aimed at his chest which was also blocked, he then rose his foot to kick him up the chin.
But with speed Kron leaned his head back to avoid the strike. Then he retaliated by with a vicious backhand making the other fighter stumble back.
'Damn!' That was a backfist Taijitu strike. Looks like he really did copy some of his fighting style.
"I know enough" Kron said smiling. "I did fight the one who taught you."
"So, it's true." He replied backstepping as Kron got closer. "You, you really did attack Taijitu Tai Temple, fought all the students, the instructors, and even our master."
Taijitu Tai Temple, that was the school he paid a visit to when he was younger. Its emblem was a Taijitu Emperor Grimm, it looked exactly like a bigger more deadly king cobra.
Kron remembered that it was during the eight years he was traveling with Daim. During the traveling when he wasn't fighting in the underground arenas he was going after temples, fighting gyms, and anywhere with a fighting style that piqued his interest, all to take bits and pieces to learn to create his own fighting style. It was a fun change of pace they usually fought with no weapons, and he can learn a bit about using his body correctly.
"That was near Vacuo, right? Near the Mirage arena. Don't worry it wasn't the only temple I fought, I've been to many others and done the same thing." The Saiyan grinned remembering all the temples he visited, he remembered one impressive man about his age with black hair and a line of pink hair. "All when I was only eleven!" He bragged. "Don't remember seeing you there must've graduated by then."
Chartreuse glared at the criminal wanting to cause him pain.
"What?" Kron asked. "Why so angry? Don't tell me your upset at me attacking your temple. I left everyone alive so what's the problem?" He asked chuckling.
The Taijitu Tai master grunted and then smiled, he then put his hands outward, and he glowed a sickly green for a second.
Kron tilted his head wondering what that light was. Maybe he was just channeling his Aura.
Chartreuse then jumped to perform another high straight kick.
The Saiyan was about to block but something felt off and he stumbled allowing him to get kicked in the face.
The Taijitu Tai trained fighter grinned that he finally landed a hit as his feet were back on the ground.
Kron was about to throw a punch, but he started to stumble making him miss, it was like the room was spinning making him lose his footing.
Chartreuse then threw a punch, only this time the Saiyan jumped back but stumbled as he was having trouble standing. "Oh? Afraid to get hit again?" He asked happy that he was now on the defensive.
"Tch" Kron wasn't, that kick didn't really do much to him, it was well executed but the force behind it was weak to him, he just didn't want the embarrassment of getting hit again. He looked at the man as he stumbled, this was no doubt his semblance, it was making him dizzy.
Chartreuse's semblance: Unbalance- Any opponent the user focuses on loses their balance allowing more opportunity for openings and possibly making the opponent sick.
"This won't be enough." Kron said as he knew that his opponent wasn't strong enough to capitalize on this.
"I'm sure." He replied.
This made Kron confused which wasn't helping his current state. Then an explosion hit his back, he glanced behind him wondering where it came from.
It was the huntsman he knocked out earlier with a gun held out.
The green-haired warrior then charged forward with a vertical straight punch.
It hit Kron in the face making him stumble.
Chartreuse then did a vicious chop strike to his neck to knock him out.
But to his surprise Kron while still dizzy slammed a backhand to the side of the chop, and gut-punched the older green-haired fighter in the stomach making him keel over.
The huntsman that shot him in the back was about to fire another shot, but Kron knew better and fired a small Ki blast that knocked him out.
Kron still felt dizzy then quickly got behind the leader while stumbling and gripped his neck with his hand, placing his thumb behind the neck on one side and two fingers against his throat.
Chartreuse struggled to breathe, just from feeling the thumb behind his neck and the two fingers against his throat he recognized the move.
"Taijitu Bite Grip, press your thumb on the pressure point behind the neck to weaken the opponent and two fingers against the throat to make them pass out," Kron stated remembering how the move felt before he was able to escape. "Your master tried this on me. How is it am I doing it right?"
The huntsman struggled and tried to pull the move away but already felt weaker from both the pressure point and lack of oxygen.
"Looks like I'm doing it right, good." Kron chuckled silently thanking that old master for trying it.
Chartreuse in desperation then started tapping Kron's arm, the universal sign to surrender.
"Hey now, your style says no mercy remember?" He chuckled as his opponent was losing breath.
The fighter then stopped moving and passed out.
Kron felt his equilibrium getting back to him and no longer felt dizzy. He released the Taijitu Tai fighter and looked down at him and his team. "That was fun the first unarmed fight I had in a while." He said as he knelt and took the Taijitu Tai belt. "I'll take this as a trophy since you have no weapon. You're lucky I didn't actually attend your school, otherwise, your no-mercy rule would have me kill you." He laughed at that.
The Saiyan then walked around taking the weapons of his opponents along with their huntsman IDs and putting them in a pile.
And now he can focus and what he came for.
The man in the suit freaked and backed away but felt a slight burning and fell forward almost hitting the energy bolt in front of him.
"Careful now, one touch can knock out most huntsman, imagine what it can do to a weakling like you." He teased.
"W-what do you want?!"
Kron began. "Look here, it wasn't nice of you to run off when I told you I needed you to answer some questions, now you will answer or else."
"I- I don't know what you want! Please leave me be!" The man screamed begging.
"I think you might see I recognize you, been a while since the Branwen Tribe huh?"
He got anxious but tried to play it off. "I- I don't know what you're talking about."
But Kron saw right through it. "Oh please, you may have been one of the weakest members of our 'family' but I remember your face, your… Shay?" He asked but he shook his head. "No I killed him, but I do remember your face."
He shook his head. "You've mistaken me for someone else, please, I'm just an investor!"
"Well, it's not like I can remember every weakling so maybe your right."
He nodded hoping that he'll let him go.
"Which is why I've done a lot of digging, talked to a lot of different people, and they've led me to you." The Saiyan explained while his tail was waving around behind him. "You are known by few as a former Branwen Tribe bandit, you deserted them five years ago. You're not that good at covering your tracks."
He sighed lying further would be pointless. "Ok, ok! Yes, I- I was in the tribe! Was! Not anymore!" The former bandit yelled. "Y-you can do whatever you want with the tribe but I'm not with them anymore! Just like you! So, so just let me go, ok?"
Kron rolled his eyes behind his mask. This had to be one of the biggest cowards in the tribe.
And yet the former bandit continued practically begging for his life. "A-also I wasn't a part of those idiots who went after you!"
"Course you didn't," Kron replied. "You wouldn't be here otherwise." He remembered the first group Vernal took to try to kill him.
"Right?!" He shouted with a smile. "I even tried to tell Shay that it was a stupid idea when he asked for help! So, I never wronged you, ever, so please, just let me go."
"After you answer some questions."
The former bandit really didn't want to be here, but he gave in. "What do you want to know?"
"Where can I find Raven or the tribe?" He asked. "If you can't answer that, where have they gone or where might they go? If you have any info on any member, it would be good."
His prisoner tried his best to answer calmly.
"I don't know! When I left the tribe, I cut off all contact, I made sure they couldn't find me!" Raven was never ok with deserters, and he didn't want to chance it with anyone else. "The tribe wasn't doing so well for a while, Raven wasn't anywhere to be found, and all we had was Vernal to take orders from, but she wasn't with us all the time! And our tribe suffered!"
The boot licker was running things. For a while? Did he rough Raven up that badly? So many questions but he'll ask the most important thing.
"What exactly was Raven doing then? She's not dead, is she?" He didn't want that, he wanted to kill her in a real fight.
"S-she was gone for three years when I left, and we have no idea where she's been!"
Gone for three years? Did she need to heal for that long? That'd be good to know, years later the old hag was still fighting for her life from what he did. Still, he needed to find her.
So, the Branwen Tribe might be without Raven even now.
"There anything else you can tell me?" The Scourge of Anima sounded threatening.
"No! I swear that's all I know!" He started crying.
'Sounds convincing but just in case.'
He held up a hand and started curling his fingers.
The ten energy bolts surrounding him got closer to the man and made him shriek.
"I don't know anything else!"
Closer.
It put him in a very uncomfortable position with the energy orbs just centimeters away from touching him. "Please stop!" He started sobbing.
If he knew more, he'd talk.
Ugh, he has never seen anyone this pathetic.
He turned away towards the huntsman all over the ground all the while the former bandit was begging to be let out of his explosive prison.
One of them had regained consciousness and looked horrified. "Relax, they're still alive, it was nothing personal you were in the way."
The huntsman looked surprised to have his weapon taken.
"I'll be taking the weapons, and licenses tell your team they were fun to fight," Kron said as he walked to his pile of weapons and huntsman licenses. "Oh, and don't worry, your client or I guess prisoner now is all yours." He said as he rose his hand making the energy balls around his prisoner float and dissipate.
The businessman fell to his knees relieved to be free from his explosive cage.
Kron then flew off carrying his new loot.
The last huntsman got up and walked towards the man on the ground. "Well sir, I heard everything, so while you are safe from him, but I'm afraid we'll have to escort you to the authorities." He was so close to enjoying an easy life in Eida but now he was going to have to answer for his crimes in the tribe.
"Y-yes" The former bandit nodded miserably accepting his future imprisonment. He was just happy to be alive and away from that monster.
The last huntsman was trying to help his comrades.
"My, my what happened here?" A voice asked in a creepy tone.
Both the last conscious huntsman and the former bandit looked at the pedestrian. "We were attacked, please be on your way sir." The huntsman said in a professional tone.
"Nonsense" A scorpion tail swayed behind him and he quickly aimed his arm at the prisoner to fire from a wrist mounted weapon.
The former bandit's forehead splattered blood as he fell backward.
The last conscious huntsman looked freaked out as his prisoner was killed by the stranger. Immediately he reached for his weapon.
But as he turned the scorpion Faunus was already in front of him and had his stinger in his throat, his aura nullified by the stranger's semblance.
Tyrian cackled. "I'll have to thank the boy later." He then held up his glass looking Dust that his goddess had given him.
"Gah!" The huntsman looked panicked as his life slipped away.
"Don't worry, you and your comrades will now serve a higher purpose! A purpose granted by a goddess!" He laughed loudly.
From far away a light can be seen followed by screaming and the laugh of Tyrian.
In a cave up in the mountains, Kron arrived in his makeshift home with his new pile of weapons.
He placed each of the weapons on a rock basically for display, each of the weapons was on display with huntsman ids. After he was done putting them away, he walked through his cave or rather home.
Walking there were many weapons and huntsman Ids that he collected all on display, it was his personal museum of all his victories. Some were easy, others gave him some brief struggle.
Though none have been strong enough to harm him, which is sad. But still, it had its moments.
That Taijitu Tai master was kind of fun, been a while since he fought someone unarmed. Still, that was a dirty trick relying on another team member to shoot in the back!
As he walked there was a bookshelf that Kron had stolen filled with many books, some describing the Great War, the founding of the kingdoms, The gift of Menagerie, and a couple of books that are biased towards both Faunus fighting for rights and the bloodthirsty Faunus. Kron didn't care for the Faunus-Human troubles, it was just interesting to see their perspective on their struggle.
Once he made it to a decorative display, there was his most prized possession.
Raven's helmet, the one he treasured most. The last fighter that made him struggle, made him work to earn his win.
And she is the one he will find and kill for all she had done. He allowed the huntsman to live, but not her. She needed to pay.
He took off his mask and hood.
"Just where are you, old hag? You can't hide forever, sooner or later I will find you, ugh, back then I used to think it'd be a problem if you open a portal to me, but now I wish you'd do that so we can settle this."
Where else should he start looking? Maybe he should find that brother he heard about. Though Raven never liked talking about him, plus he has no idea where he is either or any of her contacts.
Kron then put his hand on his head. "Ugh, whatever, I'm sure I can find another weakling that knows where you are sooner or later."
The Saiyan then got out of the cave and decided to fly out to find a new way to kill time.
In a village in Anima, Qrow Branwen was following the trail left by the Scourge of Anima.
He was talking to someone crying.
"I-it was so horrible, I never seen anything like it before." The man was crying.
Qrow had a straight face listening to the citizen, poor guy must have seen a lot. When he first asked a victim of the carnage the Scourge has created he felt some sympathy but now he's become desensitized by them after following the trail this long.
"I mean look at what he's done!" He waved his hands to look at the carnage the Scourge had caused.
Around him were piles and piles of…... dishes.
Qrow's leadings brought him to a restaurant.
The chef continued. "I mean I know that I might be exaggerating but trust me if you were there, you'd probably have to arrest him for disturbing the peace, he was devouring everything in sight like a savage and he had two orders of everything! And sometimes he had his mouth open it was disgusting!"
Well, that part of the story matches every other village he followed. "Right" He tried not to sound annoyed. "And this kid, he had spikey hair pointed left, and right? A long hoodie?"
"Y-yes" The chef nodded to the description.
"And is he human?"
"Hm?" The chef questioned. "Um, yes, no Faunus traits as I seen."
That's the 6th time he's been told that. Must be hiding his tail and the Beringel mask while he's eating at some restaurant. That must be the case because near any encounters with the Scourge of Anima, some kid with spikey black hair eats a mountain of food forcing restaurants to close early.
Without his tail in the open and his mask, he's able to just fit in at any village without raising any alarm bells.
No doubt this glutton kid and the Scourge of Anima are on and the same.
"So um, gotta ask." The chef started. "While I am kind of glad a huntsman is asking about this kid, he isn't stealing food or anything, he pays the amount of money plus a healthy tip so I might be complaining to much, is this kid in any sort of trouble?"
Probably paying with money he steals from the huntsmen he beats down.
Though best not to reveal that to the chefs otherwise they might cause panic and attract Grimm.
"The kid's a runaway, he's 17 but still his parents are looking for him and asked me to find him." It was the same story he told any chef with questions.
"Oh, well if he comes by again, I'll be sure to let the authorities know."
Qrow waved his hand knowing that might not be a good idea. "Nah, his parents don't want him in any trouble, sides I'm close to finding him anyway."
"Oh, ok"
"But here" Qrow took out a paper and wrote down something. "Call this number if you see him again alright?"
"Right gotcha, thank you for your service." The chef took the number and let the huntsman be on his way.
Qrow did the same with every other restaurant and huntsman he came across hoping to see the kid again.
Because even though he said he was close to finding him, it was another lie.
This kid about the same age as his oldest niece is somehow harder to find than Salem's men.
At least he hasn't exactly come up empty.
After practically interrogating Daim he found out a couple of other things.
Apparently, he made his sister run.
She ran from a boy only nine years old.
He had asked if he really was a boy, thinking only a Maiden can do that at that age.
But no, the Scourge of Anima really was a he. That wasn't good, if he was that capable at that age, how strong is he now? He might've killed Raven at nine years old, he'd be willing to bet she was his equal in combat.
It wasn't confirmed that she was dead, but it would explain why he hasn't gotten a hold of her for eight years. Their last meeting was at the bar talking about the brat.
"Oz, we might be a little out of our element here." He thought aloud as he took out his flask and drank.
A little more than his usual sip.
Huh, he didn't think the possible death of his sister would affect him this much.
Maybe he was more worried for Yang being a target. No, while his sister may be a deadbeat mother, she would never mention the fact she had a daughter if it put her in danger.
Sad that it's the most mothering thing she's done for Yang since giving birth.
After finishing his flask, he looked back at his holographic map that he used to mark all of the Scourge of Anima's whereabouts. The Scourge's been from village to village, city to city all over. Asking where Raven and the tribe are.
On the way, he's beating huntsmen that ambushed him, and he's always leaving them alive while taking their lien, huntsman licenses, and weapons.
That's an improvement at least, he hasn't killed any honest folk in years. At least from what he's found out.
Though chances are he would be an exception to whatever new rule he has.
Still, he should keep his name a secret when he meets him. While Kron likely knows of Qrow Branwen given how renowned he became, he'll want to interrogate him or maybe even kill him. All because he got a little famous.
'Thanks for that Oz' He thought sarcastically, He remembered asking Ozpin not to be put on the spotlight when he started working for him, he knew it'd be more trouble than it's worth.
"Where are you going next?" Qrow asked looking at all the spots Kron has been.
"Excuse me!"
The huntsman put his holographic map away as his thinking was disturbed by some passerby.
"You're a huntsman correct, please I need you to look at this, we need your help."
He was annoyed, he wanted to tell him that he had more pressing issues, but he was a huntsman and couldn't ignore this. Besides, it might lead him to the kid for all he knew.
"Alright, show me."
Qrow was brought into a building, from the sign it was a coroner's office.
"We found these bodies nearby, and well, it's disturbing."
"Other than being dead?"
The coroner brought him to a table with a body bag.
"See for yourself." He unzipped the bag and showed a corpse of an old man with green hair in black and yellow Gi.
Qrow looked unimpressed. "So, what got em?" Probably a heart attack he thought cynically.
"He's a huntsman but his ID was missing, I did some tests on him." He took out a file and brought it to Qrow. "His DNA matches this man, Chartreuse Greenshade."
The drunk huntsman opened the file and was surprised to see the picture of the man. It looked like a young man in his mid 20's he then looked at the old man on the table. This was strange.
"I found similar cases with the three of the other bodies, one of them only had a gunshot in his forehead but he wasn't…. aged." He said trying to find the right word for it.
Ok, this was probably not the kid's doing but it was worth looking into, with his interest peaked he examined the prune bodies along with the others.
Was it an aging semblance? Dehydration? Or was it some new Grimm Salem managed to create?
Whatever it was it seemed to have drained the life out of any unfortunate coming across their path.
"So, what do you think?" Asked the coroner.
Qrow took a swig from his flask. "Well, this isn't the Scourge's doing that's for sure."
"It certainly isn't his MO, obviously, do you think it might be something worse?"
Qrow took a closer look at one body and sees a small puncture. Like a small deathstalker stinger. "Depends, I got an idea who it is, he's not as strong, but he actually goes for the kill." And from the look of the bodies so much worse now.
He stood up and looked at the coroner. "Tell the authorities to be on the lookout for an assassin named Tyrian Callows, I don't know how he's making them like this, but I do know he."
"Thank you, Mr. Branwen, for your expertise."
Qrow nodded and walked out of the office.
The Scourge of Anima was meant to be his top priority, but he couldn't just ignore Salem's subordinate, what if they're able to recruit him? Or worse what if he already was.
Not to mention he likely has a new weapon Salem is having him try out, and they'll be more victims if left unchecked.
Too many chances he couldn't ignore. Tyrian needed to be his priority, for now, hopefully, it wasn't too late.
Once he was in a good hiding place, he transformed into an actual Qrow and flew in the air searching for Tyrian.
In a nearby town, there was a bookstore.
Kron was inside reading whatever reading material caught his eye.
This one book was labeled Curse of Faunus.
It described how a good number of Faunus back in ancient times and still to this day had instincts depending on what kind of Faunus they were.
For example, there was a tribe of Lion Faunus that ate humans as well as Antelope Faunus, showing that there was some truth to them being animals. In ancient times they were incapable of speech, emotions or any human-like thinking, only whatever nature the animal traits they showed
Because of this in those times Faunus were captured and treated as slaves or no different than animals.
Over time their brains developed on the same level as humans and became what they are today. Though there is still discrimination likely because today while Faunus have become intelligent, they still cannot escape their animalistic nature, for better or worse, Dog Faunus can be loyal friends that will stick with you and Scorpion Faunus with a need to use their stingers on any they come across. Therefore, Faunus are still feared due to their ancestors' actions and the sad few who still inherited their tendencies, sometimes the only difference between them and the animals is their intellect.
'Kinda like we Saiyans feeling the need to fight.' Kron concluded; he found this book interesting. He still didn't care about the Faunus-Human conflict, still, he was intrigued by one of the sources of the conflicts
He closed the book and decided to purchase it with the lien stolen by the huntsman he's beaten of course.
The Saiyan took the book and placed it into a sack he held and had it hanging on his back under the cloak he wore.
"Now, what should I do next?" Kron asked himself as he walked out of town. "That pathetic coward had nothing for me, all I know is that she ditched the Branwen Tribe for three years after our battle, but if she did why would Vernal be barking orders?"
He asked remembering the bootlicker, she wouldn't leave Raven's side from what he remembered.
"Hmm, maybe she really needed healing." He chuckled at the thought of her needing prolonged treatment from just being grazed from his attack.
It would explain why she comes and goes into the Branwen Tribe.
Such little info was gotten from all the idiots he interrogated.
"Grr, how annoying." Kron sighed as he took out his Beringel mask and placed it back on and had his tail unwrapped from his waist and allowed it to sway.
Perhaps he'll leave Anima now, maybe go truly explore the other capitals. He's never even stepped foot on Solitas, maybe he'll go there and see what Atlas is like. Might be fun if they attack him for being a Faunus.
Hm, what to do?
Qrow was soaring in the air as a bird scanning the area for his new target.
Hopefully, he wasn't too far.
And to his surprise he found something.
It was Tyrian, standing over someone beat up and bleeding out.
The assassin rose his hand showing what looked like glass but it was in the shape of a crystal. Like a dust crystal.
Not wanting this fiend to murder the helpless huntsman he shifted back into human form not far from him and brought out his long sword, Harbinger.
The assassin turned to him and smiled as if expecting it and rose his other arm blocking Harbinger with his pincer-looking wrist blade, the strike caused a strong impact that blew past the trees behind him.
Tyrian chuckled as he backflipped away from Ozpin's subordinate.
"Hello little birdie" He cackled as he put the mysterious glass-looking Dust into a pouch.
Qrow aimed his sword and aimed it at Tyrian, he wanted to just end him but he needed info. He waited for the scorpion to make his move.
Tyrian turned tail and ran through the bunch of trees behind him.
That was unexpected, Tyrian never ran if it was just him. He looked over at the huntsman on the ground, he was really wounded. "Can you walk?"
"Y-yeah" He struggled to stand.
He might die, but more would if Tyrian escaped.
"I have to go after him, sorry."
The huntsman nodded in understanding.
Qrow gave chase towards the assassin.
Kron was walking in a random direction having trouble deciding what to do, but then he then smelt something, blood.
Kron turned towards the forest that smelled of it, and with curiosity he had his cloak and masks back on. As he walked out of the forest there was a man who was bleeding out walking out of the forest.
The Saiyan tilted his head at the wound on his shoulder.
The huntsman fell close to Kron's feet and looked up. "S-scorpion F-" He stopped and fell unconscious.
Kron looked ahead thinking of those words, Scorpion Faunus guessed. It couldn't be what's his name. Tyan, Tiran, Tyrian, Tyrian yes. That weakling did this to this guy, must be weak if that long haired weakling could harm him.
Still might be worth looking into, who knows maybe whoever they are will provide some minor entertainment and he could use it.
The Saiyan started walking past the body but stopped when he turned to the body. He might still be alive.
He should just leave him.
Kron groaned and rolled his eyes beneath his mask and aimed a hand upward. He fired a red Ki shot in the air.
It exploded in mid-air making a sign that was too loud and bright to ignore.
"What was that?" One asked.
"Looks like a flare! We should check it out someone might be hurt!"
Now he'll get help or die before it's too late. Not his problem.
Kron flew up through the forest trying to find this Scorpion Faunus to ease his boredom.
Tyrian ran off jumping from tree to tree as if trying to escape Qrow.
As the scorpion, Faunus stepped on a branch it snapped making him fall and land on his face into a boulder.
After Tyrian fell he grabbed his face and got up. That misfortune semblance was always a pain to deal with, but as he looked around him and down at his scroll to look at a map he grinned.
Qrow came behind him and looked down at the assassin.
"You don't usually run Tyrian, Salem really doesn't want me to know what you've been doing huh?"
Cackling Tyrian got up and grabbed his face. "Oh Mr. Branwen, did you forget my main talent?"
Ozpin's subordinate rose his sword and rose an eyebrow, he's never called him that before. "Cause your a raving lunatic and she loves those types."
"Tracking" Tyrian corrected with a grin. "I can track anyone, no matter how fast they are."
Qrow already knew that so why was he bringing this up?
"Hey! You two!"
That was a voice he didn't recognize and looked up at where the voice came from.
Tyrian looked up as well and smiled.
Much to Qrow's own misfortune, it was the Scourge of Anima floating above them.
Kron descended and landed in front of them, he glanced at one of them. "Your… Tyrian right?"
Qrow couldn't help but be surprised, he knows him? So they met before but it doesn't look like he's on their side.
"My, my you remember me!" He cackled. "Oh I wish to see your face to confirm but your tail, how you hold yourself, your definitely the boy aren't you?"
Qrow was disgusted the way he talked to him and looked up at the kid. This was bad, he couldn't confront the kid if what Daim told him was right. He needed to make sure Tyrian couldn't speak his name to him.
Kron merely grunted. "There was a huntsman nearby, half dead, so I thought I'd have fun with whoever roughed him up." Though he knew they wouldn't do much, little entertainment was better than no entertainment.
The former bandit decided to speak first. "That would be him, I'm sure they gave you a description." Hopefully, his misfortune can have him attack the scorpion first, then he can escape or maybe better use an alias before Tyrian can talk.
Kron looked at Tyrian, he remembered how he tried to capture him from Sienna. He sees the creepy smile and wanted to rip it off. But he had other pressing matters.
"Did I hear you say Mr. Branwen?"
Qrow cursed under his breath.
"Why yes" Tyrian giggled and looked to the man. "This little birdie is none other than Qrow Branwen, I'm sure you know about him."
The former bandit looked at the Scourge of Anima trying to hide his fear. This was bad, the assassin lead him here, he made a trail for him to find to turn the kid against him.
Kron stopped looking at Tyrian and focused on Qrow. The hair color as Raven, and the red eyes, they looked too similar to the old hag. There was no doubt this was Raven's brother. Under his mask, he had an evil smile. Finally, he had a lead!
Qrow took a step back as he looked at the kid.
"Well, gentlemen I must be off! So many errands, so little time!" Tyrian chuckled and ran off.
The huntsman immediately started running but then Kron landed a few feet in front of him. He couldn't let him get away, he tried to plead to the Scourge. "Hey! Whatever your problem is you can't let him get aw-!"
Before he could finish Kron was in front of him and punched him in the stomach.
The force made him roll back and hit a tree, he slowly got up by stabbing his weapon into the ground for support. Dark red sparks surrounded him meaning his Aura was doing it's best to heal him and was damaged.
That punch, was harder than even Taiyang or Yang when she uses her semblance. And that speed, it was faster than Ruby with hers.
Kron chuckled as he looked at him. "I don't care about the scorpion, my real objective is Raven Branwen!" He declared as he took a stance. "You are going to tell me every bit about Raven that you know."
Just one attack already told him what he needed to know, he can't beat him. Daim was definitely not exaggerating. "Look, I don't know a thing, Raven and I aren't exactly on good terms."
"I figured" Kron remembered how she wouldn't speak too much about her brother, everytime he tried to ask about him she would change the topic or threaten to ground him. "And I don't care. Before I didn't consider looking for you because your as hard to find as her, but now that your here that changes things." He wasn't going to let this drunk slip. "And since you share her blood, I'm willing to bet she used Kindred Link on you, so she'll show up if I rough you up enough."
Damn it, if only he didn't fall for Tyrian's trail. Running away wasn't an option the kid can catch up easy, talking to him isn't an option because of something his sister did, and fighting is not in the cards either.
As Qrow brought Harbinger into a defensive position. Only one thought came to mind.
'I am so fucked.'
Poor Qrow, Tyrian was a step ahead of him.
Well on the up side he found Kron, on the downside, Tyrian revealed who he was before he could come up with a fake name.
Looks like his own semblance worked against him.
Sorry if the long wait wasn't worth the chapter, I'll continue to try to improve and hope u guys can still enjoy.
Review Responses
Guest: Nothing much to say except yep, your right.
Guest: There was a chance they could've become an evil version of Piccolo and Gohan but Raven's true personality made that impossible.
1. Yep. Though I guess Raditz was also a coward arguably bigger than Raven, but cowardice was likely rare among Saiyans so yeah, you right.
2. Exactly. Raven's character is that she wants to be this warrior that believes in survival of the fittest, kinda like a Saiyan but she's not, it's a facade so she can make an excuse for everything she does and hide the fact that she's just scared of Salem. It was proved when Yang was calling her out for all her shit.
3. Yep, would u expect anything less?
I don't think it's impossible for a love interest just needs time. As he is now yes, but that's why you give him more character development first.
4. Kron x Vernal? I get it, but to be honest, I imagine their interactions to be boring. I find her boring and plus she's too much of a boot licker for Raven in Kron's eyes, especially since he's all about freedom. I think it'd be better to have him develop more and have more engaging options in the future.
5. I thought of having Kron small like Kid Goku until he was 18 but I thought like you and maybe it depends on the individual, plus it felt comical in a bad way for Kron to be toddler-size in the second arc of the story where everyone would tower over him until he's 18.
6. I used to think that too, but how old was DBS Paragas?
7. Um... Lol, well she's immortal so I guess the age gap wouldn't be a factor. Gotta ask, how would that go if u were to write it? I'm having trouble trying to picture it lol.
Guest: I'll try to be consistent with the power scaling.
We're still a bit far from the pairings, and I think he can have more options than your saying with enough time. Just got to be creative.
Makimass: Pass the chapter u reviewed he's learned how to think properly in a fight even when angered. See chapter 20 against Raven.
Alton: I'm sorry but I can't answer that it'd be a spoiler but I do get what you mean, Yang likes to fight, feisty, and is strong-willed. Can definitely see why you'd think that. One of the things that might get in the way is that she's the daughter of Kron's most hated enemy but still possible.
I also won't answer that either, again spoilers.
So I'm sorry but I can't answer spoiler questions here when some people would like to wait for the story to answer these questions rather than them being revealed early. I hope you understand and still can enjoy the story.
epontoja521: Thank you, I'm glad you did and hope you're doing well to.
Guest: It's kinda hard to prove he's not a Faunus, the best way for them to realize is to have scientists look at his DNA but he never stays in place for long. Don't worry though I have his reveal planned out already. In a world where a species has animal parts, it's easy to assume he's a Faunus.
Lelouch of Zero: Thank you. I'm glad you liked what I've done with Kron so far, and hope I can keep it entertaining for you. Also yes, Kron was quite the monster before Kali began caring for him, but after that it tempered his savagery, last chapter he was ready to kill but he stopped himself, thinking of Kali. That being said he's still a jerk lol, but more room to grow. Kali might've had the biggest role in keeping Kron from destroying Remnant.
Arkanataraisa: Yea I've read too many fifth-wheel stories in RWBY crossovers, they usually rely on the canon train with an extra usually OP character.
No worries I meant EVENTUALLY. For a while at first, when he happens to help Team RWBY it'll be for something he wants and not have their best interest, he'll mostly be doing whatever he wants and they'll have to work with whatever mess he makes. Basically, it'll be what you're hoping for. He'll need to go through another character arc or two before he's ready to be a team player and I'll take my time with it like I took my time with Kron abandoning his original goal of wiping out the planet.
NinjaGogeta: I can see why you'd want that. Blake will be a main character but I won't say if they'll be a thing or not. Spoilers and all.
Buttermu: Glad you liked it and I think you'll find the new Dust Salem created interesting.
Runieon: Lol I just used your idea, thank you, it's the perfect way to track a Saiyan. At least he's willing to pay for it. But sadly now it looks Qrow might be paying for finding him.
ThatSaiyaGuy: Thank you. Yep, though hopefully, that doesn't cost him like most Saiyans.
That would be interesting, let's find out if you are right.
Right now the human Grimm, is the least intimidating thing for now, in time it'll grow to be something that'll be a problem for everyone. Also, let's just say you might not want to know what he did to make it. And yes he did make it, Salem provided him with most of the recourses to do so. He's not even finished yet and when it is, it'll make things more interesting.
That'd make it really dangerous, wouldn't it? But I'll be honest no,it does not possess Kron's cells but don't worry it'll definitely grow to be dangerous.
I think every writer has written something in their story both in fanfiction and official shows and stuff, and think back on it that they could've done it better. For example I think I had Kron's tail weakness fixed too soon, I now think it would've made the story more interesting if I had him keep it for a while longer and try to keep it from being grabbed until he trained it, but it's too late to change that now it's already been established that he trained his tail. So yeah, I get what u mean and I'm sure every writer does to. So don't worry about it and just continue writing what you enjoy, you'll improve in time and at the end of the day all that matters is you have fun writing, at least that's what I think.
I think you'll get a good idea on Kron's limits soon.
Blake might be triggered when she sees him, he did rough up her dad , yelled that her mother betrayed him, and took a leg from a high-ranking White Fang member. Yeah, their encounter might not be pretty, for Kron. Oh Raven, she's way worse off, she should hope she's still in a coma for her sake so she won't see what's coming.
TheJSmooth: Well Salem is still trying to figure out what Kron's power is so she's already being cautious with him despite being immortal. I'm glad your hyped for it and I'll try to have it entertaining for you. Thank you.
So thank you guys for the reviews as usual but I have something to ask you all, can more of you tell me what u thought of the chapter itself?
U don't have to I just would appreciate if more of you can tell me if you liked or disliked the chapter. Be great if u can tell me exactly what you liked and disliked.
But in the end as long as you are not rude, or do not try to constantly push me to do an idea I've already said I don't want to do repeatedly, then your fine, review how you want other than those two things. Most of you are already great and don't do those things and I hope I can return the favor by making this story worth a read.
I hope it's not too much to ask, thank you for trying the story regardless if you say what you thought of the chapter or not.
So hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving, and in case I don't add before then wish you all happy holidays and a happy new year.
Again real sorry for not adding consistently, hope u guys can wait.
And as usual, have an awesome day! :)
