Big Babies

"No Dil," Tommy said as his brother wiggled the shuttlecock around, "you have to lets go."

"Tommy," Phil said, walking over and placing his hand on his shoulder, "can't we celebrate this ONE TIME that your brother isn't throwing things at us?"

"…oh," Tommy said, blinking as he realized what Phil meant. "Huh. That's right!" He walked up to Dil and patted him on the head. "Good job, Dilly! I knew you could do it!"

"Huh?" Dil said, confused. He just liked the weird toy… why was Tommy saying he was good? Well… other than the fact that he was. Dil was so confused by this he ended up tossing the shuttlecock right at Lou as he walked in.

"Heheh, careful there spud!" he said, handing the shuttlecock back to Tommy.

"Another club meeting pop?" Stu said, looking over Lou in his Wombat uniform.

"Darn-tootin'! We're celebratin' the anniversary of when me and the boys stopped the Nazis from summonin' a demon! Course we only managed to make it so a baby showed up but he was a cute fella… wonder how ol' Hellboy is doin'…"

Later after Lou left Tommy walked up to his friends, gesturing at Dil. "I figured out how we can make Dil into a big baby! We'lll give him a itch-nation!"

"…what's that?" Lil asked.

"Well, uh, my grandpa said its tests to see if you can play with big kids! So we give Dil an itch-nation and he'll become a big baby! And that's better for us big kids!"

"But Tommy, why didn't I have an itch-nation?" Chuckie asked.

Tommy scratched his head. "Well… we must have. Because we're big kids now! I bet its things we do now that made us big kids! Like…" He waved at what he was wearing. "I don't gots my snappy shirt no mores! And drink from a sippy cup! So for Dil it would be what I did BEFORE I did that stuff."

"Like not throwing toys!" Lil said.

"Or tellin' us you went poopie," Phil added.

"Or figurin' out how to open a playpen!" Chuckie finished.

Tommy nodded. "That's right!" He walked over to Dil. "How about it? Wanna be a big baby?"

Dil considered that before nodding his head. He wanted to be a big baby so he could play with the others.

So Tom my and his friends tried to give Dil an itch-nation. He didn't do well figuring out how to get out of his bouncy chair… and he had trouble repeating the song Chuckie sang… and he really didn't like Tommy's shoes that he put on his feet but they fell off anyway. But Dil did manage not to throw any toys and while it took some extra time he was able to gum his cookie!

"Well Dil, I think you're on your way to growing up!" Tommy said.

He sniffed and screwed up his face.

"Uh… good job not screaming poopie when you did… that."

"Yay!"
