(A/N): Hey Guys! So, here's the result of the cliffhanger... well, sort of. :P

When Leo, Elaine and Remus didn't turn up to breakfast, I and the remaining Marauders boys decided to skip first lesson and head to the Hospital Wing.

Upon arrival, the first thing I saw was Remus, sitting half-upright, staring at something on the other side of the room, eyes squinted slightly as his face contorted in both pain and panic.

As I turned my head, I saw a figure, curled up on one of the other beds, thin sheet pulled taut over them.

Turning his head towards me, Remus and I locked eyes, and upon a quick glance, I could see bandages peeking out from under his shirt.

Leo must have been rough with him again.

"What happened?" James inquired, clearly knowing that Leo wouldn't inflict such injury on Remus without good reason.

"I don't know." Remus whispered. "I can't even remember leaving the castle last night, and Elaine won't talk to me." His eyes darted to the figure on the other bed, and I watched as she curled up even tighter.

I glanced around, eyebrows furrowing.

"Where's Leo?" He shrugged, but I could see the utter terror in his eyes.

Where was Leo?

"Your friend is at St. Mungos." Madam Pomfrey addressed us as she bustled into the room, and Remus's eyebrows shot up.

"...What did I do?" He breathed, and I saw tears building in the corner of his eyes, my eyes finding Elaine's figure across the room, gesturing for James to go to her.

"I'm not sure." Pomfrey said carefully. "When Miss Folley dragged him in here late last night, he had lost so much blood." Remus cringed, and I wasn't sure whether it was because of the subject, or because he was trying to sit up further.

"Elaine?" I heard James murmur, and I saw him settle on the edge of the bed, gently resting a hand on her shoulder through the cover, which she shrugged off violently.

"She didn't stop crying for hours." Madam Pomfrey whispered, following my gaze to them, and I felt a twinge of pain in my heart.

I was worried about Leo, of course, but how would Elaine handle it if he didn't return?

My guess? Not well.

"Laney?" Sirius asked, approaching her bedside as well, and I placed my hand on Remus's in order to comfort him.

"Elaine?" Remus asked carefully, and I saw her figure jerk slightly. "Damsel." And that was all it took.

With that one, simple nickname, Elaine tossed the covers off herself, quickly springing upright, lunging. Her fingers secured themselves around the edge of a bedpan, throwing it at him, only just missing his head.

"Never call me that again. Never." By the furious glare she had fixed him with and the scowl she wore, we all knew she was serious, and James carefully wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Don't worry Elaine, the Healers will take care of him." Then, he pulled her closer, and I could vaguely hear him whispering the same thing over and over in her ear, and slowly, Elaine returned the embrace, a loud sob wracking her throat.

Remus clenched my hand tight in his, and I shot him a weak smile.

"It wasn't you fault, Remus." I whispered to him, and he frowned.

"But it was." Elaine shook her head furiously.

"It wasn't." She choked out, and we all turned our attention to her, James moving out of the way so we could see her face.

"What?" Peter asked, and she sniffled quietly.

"You wanted to go outside." Remus's eyebrows furrowed, and he looked surprised.

"Right..." He didn't seem to see where she was going with this, and frankly, neither did I.

"I said no, but Leo thought it would be fine. We left the Shack, headed straight to the forest." Remus nodded slowly, as if he remembered, but I could tell by the look in his eyes that he didn't. "I don't know what happened..." She said, taking a deep breath. "You both sped off, I couldn't keep up. Next thing I know, Leo's screaming in my head." She bit her lip, avoiding our eyes, but I was more concerned with Remus.

"Remus?" I asked him quietly, watching his expression, even though it remained the same, horrified, drained of all colour.

"I can hear it." My eyebrows furrowed.

"Hear what?" He turned his head to look me dead in the eye.

"Him. Screaming."

(A/N): Oh, and I will be killing someone off while they're still at Hogwarts, just so you know. I've been planning it since I started writing this.
