(A/N): Hey Guys! So, the next chapter I haven't finished yet, but I promise it will be uploaded tonight.

Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.

Elaine

I froze as James left the room, registering what had just said.

Turning to Remus, I gaped at him.

"You- You have a crush on me?" He winced at the question, shrugging weakly.

"Maybe?" I glared, grabbing him by the shirt again.

"Tell me the truth, Remus." He hesitated for a second, staring at me warily.

"I really, really like you." I released him, sighing deeply.

"Remus-" He cut me off, resting a hand on my shoulder.

"I know that what we just did was your way of getting back at Leo, I do." He said, his eyes showing pain. "But that's not what it was for me. It's just a stupid, silly crush- forbidden fruit, remember?" I nodded, wanting to believe him. "You're one of my best friends- and the girl my best friend's in love with, Elaine. I didn't want to lose either of you over my infatuation." He explained, and I watched him for a minute.

"How long?" He shrugged, biting his lip.

"Since about halfway through second year." I let out a disbelieving sigh. "I'm sorry." I shook my head.

"You don't have to apologise Remus. I can't understand how hard it must have been for you to watch me chasing after Leo all this time-" He cocked an eyebrow.

"I think you can." Reluctantly, I nodded.

"I've done the same thing Leo did with me though. I gave you hope, and now I'm dashing it." He hung his head, and I awkwardly patted his hair.

"I understand Elaine," He said, raising his head again. "You're in love with Leo, and he loves you too. I never had that higher hopes for us- ever. Let's just- forget it ever happened, yeah?" Hesitantly, I nodded.

"Yeah."

(A/N): So, what did you think?

Och, that's gotta hurt.
