(A/N): Hey Guys! Full moon, and a bunch of Eleo fluff, woo!

I was listening to 'The Scientist' by Coldplay while writing this.

Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.

Elaine

Just under a week till the end of the year, it was another full moon.

The first one Leo and I had attended together since the incident before Christmas break, actually. All three of us had agreed that Leo should take some time away from the werewolf, and I had even taken a month off myself before returning to keeping Remus company, with a promise to Leo that I wouldn't let Remus leave the shack under any circumstances. He didn't fight this in the slightest, which was probably the most troubling thing to me- before the attack he had been all too eager to keep me away from the werewolf as much as possible, but now? Clearly whatever had made him act guilty after he'd returned from St Mungos was doing a number on him.

Understandably, I was more than a little nervous about the whole situation, but if Leo was, he was hiding it pretty well.

"You alright?" I asked for the thirtieth time that night, but he just looked at me, not even bothering to flash a smile.

"I'm fine." He reassured me, and I could tell, this time, he was distracted by something.

"What-?" He held up a hand, automatically cutting me off.

"Remus is changing." He said after a second, pushing open the doors to the entrance hall and holding it open for me.

"Alright... let's do this." I murmured, and he cocked an eyebrow at me, taking my hand in his for a second before flashing me a smile.

"It'll be fine." He told me before dropping my hand, and I watched as he shrunk down by about half, starting to transform into his animagus form, before I did the same.

'Let's go.'

Quickly, we made our way to the Womping Willow, dodging the infuriated branches before squeezing into the tunnel. I was, as always, behind Leo as we made our way through the small space, and I panicked for a second. What if Remus attacked him again? I couldn't protect him, not in an enclosed space like this.

Then, we emerged into the Shrieking Shack, and my fears were alleviated a little as we entered the larger space. More room to fight, if necessary.

I spotted Remus in the corner of the room, amber eyes glistening in the darkness, and Leo leapt into the shredded armchair in the middle of the room, curling up on himself and looking incredibly small as his fur parted to reveal the scars that covered his now feline body.

'Alright Moony?'

He blinked at me for a second.

'Fine and dandy.'

He replied sarcastically, and I bobbed my head in an attempt to nod.

'That's all we can ask for.'

The night was mostly uneventful, and we spent it just like that- Remus in the corner, Leo on the armchair, barely speaking, and I between them, both to protect Leo and to comfort Remus. Dawn came on awfully slowly, and my eyes kept on drooping, but Leo and I left the Shrieking Shack just beforehand, so we didn't have to see Remus transform again, and sluggishly made our way to the Great Hall.

As I sat down at the Gryffindor table, I slumped against Leo's side, squeezing my eyes shut for a second to stop them from stinging, and when I opened them again, they met professor Dumbledore's from across the hall, sparkling, blue and wise.

"You should eat something." I hear Leo say, waving a cup of coffee and a piece of bacon in front of me, and I tore my eyes away from my professor to whimper and follow Leo's hands.

"Then stop taking them away." He grinned at me, clearly not quite as tired as I was, but I could still see the dark circles under his eyes, though they didn't look nearly as bad on him as they did on me.

"Just seeing if your motor skills are still good." He said, handing me the coffee and the bacon before returning to his own plate, laden with toast, sausages, more bacon, and in his hands he now cradled his own cup of coffee.

"Better than yours." I muttered, even though I knew that definitely wasn't true, and he flashed me a grin that, frankly, left me a little breathless.

"What?" He asked, sipping his coffee, and I shook my head.

"It's nothing." He stared at me for as second.

"What?" He asked again, and I rolled my eyes.

"You have a pretty smile, alright?" Pretty was a major understatement for that thing. Looking at it made you just feel... warm. Warm and loved.

"And you have pretty eyes, but you don't hear me complaining about it." I choked on my bacon, swallowing thickly before turning to look at him again.

"My eyes are not pretty!" I objected, and he grinned again, shaking his head.

"They're beautiful. You're beautiful." I flushed bright red, and he definitely noticed. "You look so cute when you blush." This of course, made me blush harder, and I smacked him on the arm.

"Shut up." I murmured, but he just took my hand in his, rolling his eyes.

"I remember when we met, you had like, dead straight hair, and your fringe was red. Remember that?" Embarrassed, I nodded. "You got rid of the red during the summer before second year, and your hair's just gotten-" He cut off for a second, his fingers twirling around a lock of my hair, watching it spring away from him and curl back up when he released it. "So curly." He said, a wide smile on his lips, and I couldn't help but laugh weakly.

"Okay, you really need to stop that." His eyes met mine, bright blue to dark brown, and for the first time, I saw the love in his eyes.

"Why?" He asked quietly, and I suddenly realised how close his face was to mine, and coughed slightly.

"Because, quite frankly, you make it hard to concentrate when you smile at me, let alone- everything else you're doing." He rolled his eyes playfully, the smile turning into a slight smirk.

"You love it." I tried to scowl at him, but it turned into a grin somewhere in the middle.

"That's kind of the problem, yes." He stared at me for a second, smile turning slightly more serious.

"You love me." It sounded like he was just now acknowledging the fact, and I flushed again, pulling my shoulders up in an attempt to hide my face. "You love me." He repeated, gently lifting my chin with his thumb and forefinger, and I forced myself to nod weakly.

"Yeah, yeah I do." He beamed at me, and I swear to god, I had never felt happier.

"I love you." Except for then. That was just about the highlight of my life up until that point.

"Yeah. You do."

(A/N): So, what did you think?

Even though I ship a whole lot of other things, I still really love Eleo, and it will always be my favourite ship, just because I know EXACTLY how much Leo and Elaine mean to each other, and how much they love each other.

Seriously. Chills.

This chapter has had small edits made to it on 31/12/22 - To reflect Remus and Elaine's conversation in chapter 200 (Make It Through The Night), about Leo acting guilty about what had happened during the full moon.
