(A/N): Hey Guys! So, sorry for the short wait, and here's the next chapter! More Eleo (sort of) and more of Leo and Mia.
Disclaimer: I own nothing you recognise.
Leo
As to be expected, my birthday the next day was completely forgotten.
I knew that Shari and my father had been planning something- what, I wasn't sure- but with his death, and her disappearance into the depths of the house, nothing came of it. Not that I would have wanted it to, but still... My fifteenth birthday, and all I got was a letter from Elaine.
Lawrence alerted to his presence at my window the next morning by pecking the glass with his curved beak, and Mia jumped, curling closer into my embrace as she heard it.
"Relax, it's just Lawrence." I felt her confusion, but didn't look back as I pried her arms away from me, so I could stand and move over to the rather impatient bird perched on my windowsill.
"Is he Elaine's?" Her tone told me she already had her suspicions and I nodded, giving him an owl treat from the little container I kept especially for him, before untying the little scroll of parchment from his skinny little chicken legs.
Unfurling the scroll, I scanned it before reading it more thoroughly.
Dear Leo,
Happy fifteenth birthday!
Hope you enjoy the present I got you. :)
Love,
Elaine
Yes, there was actually a smiley face there, and, with a hint of surprise, I noticed something attached to Lawrence's other leg for the first time.
Carefully, I undid it, and with a small stir, I took it in.
It was a simple, braided leather bracelet... with a red-painted wooden heart in the middle, attached via a small hole in its top to the other end of the material.
With a glance back at Mia, I quickly tied the bracelet around my wrist.
"What'd she say?" She asked, obviously having noticed my delay, and I turned to her with a smile.
"Nothing. She just wanted to ask how I was." Mia shook her head, flopping back onto the bed.
"For Merlin's sake, you saw each other last night!" I chuckled quietly, fetching a scrap of parchment and quickly scribbling a reply.
Dear Elaine,
I loved it, and thanks!
Also, you'll never guess what I did.
Tell you on the train?
Love,
Leo
(A/N): So, what did you think?
Also, I'm going to introduce a character called Hanna Woller years from now. Guess who she is?
