Fifteen minutes later Wayne walk into the station passing Elle some paperwork "More paperwork how lovely"
"funny"
"Here" she past him a note pad which got lunches written on it. Wayne wrote down his order and pass it back to Elle
"Ok just one more order to go"
"what do you mean, every one order on there"
"Newbie" elle said
"your joking who"
"constable Adam copper, he already got into trouble with Elle already" Wayne look through the gap in the glass
"your joking they sent him here"
"you know him" Maggie asked
"Met him at the academy, he was like a lost puppy who all excited to be a copper"
"there something else that bothers you about him Wayne"
"Yeah"
"what is it"
"It nothing" he said as he sat down at his desk
"come on"
"He saw a photo of roz and made a comment i didn't like"
"Was it a sexiest comment" elle asked
"Yeah"
"My advice it to keep calm and cool and level headed, and since your on duty on Sunday, you can give him the cell job" elle said grinning
"Oh that a horrible job" Maggie said
"Yeah especially when Hobbie spent the night in the cells totally drunk from the night before" PJ said grinning
Few minutes later the door open and tom and Adam walk out of Tom office. Tom did the introduction then he returned to his office. "Oh so what do i do"
"First of all is this" Elle said walking over to him passing him the note pad
"what is this"
"lunch order, write down what you want"
"Ok" He wrote down what he wanted the pass it back to Elle who rip the page off then walk over and got some money from the tin box then walk over and pass the fold up note to Adam
"Give this to Chris and the pub, that is where we get our lunches from every day and go and get us two packets of biscuits, make sure one packet is tim tams, then return"
"Ok" He walked out of the station and Elle turn to the others who was grinning
"got yourself an erin boy have you elle" Wayne said as Elle walk past him hitting him lightly in the shoulder
"Smart ass" she walks towards the toilets while the others laugh.
That night When PJ went around to Maggie place he saw Adam car just pulled up outside her place so he picked up his cell phone and called her
"Hello"
"Mags it me, we got a problem adam copper just showed up at your place with beer and pizza"
"Dam, ok i'll meet you at your place in five minutes"
"alright" then he hung up and drove home.
Maggie quickly went and got change then she turn some lights off just as there was a knock on the door so she answer it "Hey i thought i'll bring pizza and beer"
"Adam we are work colleagues and friends, nothing more, not even relationships understand"
"your joking right"
"no i'm not you ask the others, even the boss. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to be late with my date tonight"
"OH sorry i didn't know you got a dinner date tonight"
"Yes i have" Maggie step out and close and lock the door then she walked over to her garage when the door open. She watched Adam leave in his car so she left in her and went around to PJ for the night.
The next morning When Maggie and PJ walk into the station together Elle was there "Hey you two, how was last night" she said as she made herself a drink
"It was interrupted" PJ said
"case"
"no Adam showed up at my house with pizza and beer"
"Oh, so what happened?"
"I arrived just as Adam arrived, I called Maggie and went home"
"I showed up ten minutes later after I told Adam that i got a date"
"so you stayed at PJ place"
"Yeah"
"Lucky you weren't on call last night"
"Same here" Maggie said.
Then they saw Adam walking into the station talking to Wayne. PJ went into his office and Maggie walk into the locker room. When Elle finish making herself a drink she walks back to her desk, she could tell that Wayne was just about to lose his cool
"Wayne"
"morning Elle, excuse me Adam" he walks over to Elle desk, she passes him the pad and pen
"thanks elle" He said quietly
"any time" he write down what he wanted for his lunch then he went to the locker room when Maggie walk out.
"Maggie find out what PJ wants for lunch"
"sure"
"Adam" she pass him the pad so he wrote down what he wanted then pass it back to her
"thank you Adam and one piece of advice don't show up to Maggie place or any other place unless you're invited around, ok"
"what do you mean"
"Maggie told me you show up at her place uninvited and she had plans. Don't do it again or i or Maggie will tell the boss and he will be transferred one of you out of here and we know who will be transferred, don't we"
''Yes, but I thought"
"you thought nothing under stand"
"Yes"
"Good, oh here are papers for you to fill out" she pass him the tenancy agreement papers
"what this for"
"Rental of a two bedroom house, you can only stay in the pub for a week"
"I was going to look for a place when i get time off"
"with this" she pointed to the papers "you won't get a better deal anywhere else. Have it done by the end of the day" then she picked up the pad and walk over to PJ office
"Ok you two what is it going to be"
"nothing" PJ said
"what, nothing"
"i'm taking Maggie out to lunch"
"PJ you know what the boss going to say about it"
"I know, i lost the bet last week and i promise her next pay day that i'll take her out to lunch"
"Ah so where are you taking her?"
"the imperial"
"Ok, Maggie order the most expensive meal on the menu" Maggie laugh
"Very funny" PJ said.
Elle turn around and walk over and pick her shoulder bag up then rip the piece of paper from the pad and put it on the desk, then she walked over and knock on Tom door and open it
"Yes elle"
"I'm off with lunches and doctor appointment"
"OK, can you get me"
"I know" she step ford as he passed her some money.
"I'll be back soon as i can" then she walked out of the office and station. When she walks out side Nick showed up
"Hey where are you off to"
"doctors, and i got your order down" she showed him the folded up paper
"What did you get me this time"
"surprise"
"I love your surprises" Elle laugh
"i know you do"
she got into her wagon and left to go to the imperial to drop off the list then went to the hospital. When she arrived she had blood and urine tests done. Then she waited to see Dr Green. When she was called into her office half an hour later, she sat down just as the doctor look at the results.
"Elle how have you been feeling lately"
"Tried, lack of energy"
"Well i'm not surprised. According to these results your anemic and lack of vitamin D and what i'm going to do is give you a jab of iron and vitamin D in you back side and I'm going to give you a script for iron tablets. Plus you need to eat more red meat and fruit and vegetables that are high in iron"
"Ok is there anything else"
"Spend much time as you can in the sun and there a new milk that is high in vitamin D"
"I've seen it in the supermarket"
"Great you take that instead of normal milk"
"sure"
"I want you to return in a month for a blood test to see how things are going"
"OK"
"and one more thing" Elle look at the doctor with a worried look on her face
"you gotta get these levels up not for yourself but for your baby as well" she said smiling
"baby, you mean" elle said in shocked
"Yes congratulation, your eight weeks pregnant"
"Oh my" then she smiles
"come on lets give you the shots then go and tell that husband of yours"
"OK" The doctor pass Elle her script then they went into the next room so she could have the two injections.
When done "Elle when you come next month bring your husband with you so you both can see the baby together"
"thank you Doctor Green" they shook hands and Elle walk out of the hospital smiling.
She drove to the office and walk in to see Tim talking to his secretary "Hey honey, this is a surprise, are you ok" tim asked
"In your office for a minute"
"sure" they walk into tim office and closed the door behind them since there was a couple waiting to talk to Tom.
"That Elle his wife," the secretary said.
"Elle what wrong, what did the doctors say"
"I'm anemic and lacking in vitamin D, she gave me a script for iron tablets"
"OK"
"She wants to see us both next month"
"Why, is there something wrong"
"she want you there so you can see our baby" she said smiling
"Baby you mean"
"Yes eight weeks" He hugged her
"Yeppy" he said yelling which cause the secretary and the couple look at the door
"sounds like she gave him some great news," the secretary said
"sounds like it alright"
Minute later they walk out of Tim office smiling. "Tim elle from that yelling sounds like good news"
"Yeah, Elle pregnant"
"congratulations" they all said to them
"thanks, I'll let you" she gave him a kiss "Get back to work and I got to get boss his vanilla slice" Tim laugh as Elle walk out the door.
"Who her boss" the husband asked
"Sergeant Tom Croydon, she works at the police station here in mount thomas"
"OK"
"come on through to my office" they walked into his office and closed the door behind him.
Elle went to the phamesty to get her iron tablets then to the supermarket to get a litter of milk then to the bakery to get Tom his vanilla slice then back to the station. When she walk in she pass Tom the paper bag and change
"thank you Elle"
"Before you go into your office boss, Maggie can you get PJ please"
"elle what going on" tom asked just as Maggie got PJ, when he walked out of his office they all looking at her.
"For starts in about six and a half months time boss you will have to find a cleaner and secretary"
"Why then" Adam asked
"Cause I'll be on maternity leave" she said smiling
"Hey, congratulation"
"Dr green said that i'm eight weeks long and yes Tim knows and is over the moon about it"
"That is wonderful news" Wayne said as he gave her a hug.
"There more, as you know that i've been feeling off for the past three weeks, no it had nothing to do with the pregnancy but dr green want to keep an eye on me and the baby cause test reveal that I'm anemic and low vitamin D. so i'm going to be in high iron and vitamin D diet from now on starting with tablets and this" she show them the bottle milk "I'll be drinking this from now on till my levels are up and i'll be paying for it out of my own money"
"How much is it"
"Two and a half times of normal bottle milk PJ"
"that a lot of money" Adam said
"Yes it is. So now you know"
Then she walked over and put the milk in the fridge then walk to her desk in time to answer the phone while everyone return back to work.
