CH 24
That night at the pub Paul and Ron watch Elle and Tim walk into the pub. They walk over to where Ron and Paul is. "Evening detetives"
"Evening Elle"
"Senor detective paul McDonal, detective ron shepard, this is my husband Tim"
"Hi nice to meet you both" tim said shaking their hands
"You to tim, care to join us for a drink" tim look at elle
"elle"
"Why not" Tim help Elle to sit down
"would you two like the same again"
"thanks" they both said.
"Ok" then he walked up to the bar.
"Not long to go" ron said
"yeah, we can't wait till these two are born" she said stroking her stomach.
"Tim must be happy"
"Over the moon, he missed out the first time, but not this time"
"what do you mean miss out the first time"
"when I thought he had died, I found out that I was pregnant. I had to have treatments so I could become pregnant. It was hard for us to be together after the hell his family put us thought"
"We did some checking out about what happen to you and tim"
"yeah Tim miss out on a lot with the triplets, but now he here for the twins"
"How long have you two been married for"
"Just over six years. We got married when I was eighteen, we were married for over a year when he disappeared then three and a half years later he back. Now a year later we expecting twins"
"did you have to have treatment like you did with the triplets"
"Yes i did"
"do you like working for the mount thomas police" Paul asked
"Yes i do, they are a great bunch well all except for Adam cooper"
"We met him today" paul said
"yeah he came straight here from the academy four months ago. He got a lot of growing up to do and learning to put brain into gear before opening his mouth"
"that bad" ron asked
"Yes when I first met him he made a sexest comment about me, I set him straight in front of the boss. He didn't like it then the boss gave him a good long talking to" she said smiling
"Sargent he been here a long time"
"Yes he has, he knows the people here and they know him and his late wife Neil, she a lovely woman who was taken to soon"
"We heard about what happened," Paul said.
"It was hard on him but it taking time for him to return back to his normal self once again"
"I bet" then Tim walked over with drinks and packet of chips in hand, he put them on the table before sitting down.
"What are you talking about"
"tom and Neil"
"Ah" they talked for half an hour.
"Elle" she turn to see PJ walk in to the pub and walk up to the bar.
"Who that" ron asked
"that senor detetive PJ Hasham" elle said.
When PJ got his drink he walked over to there table "Mind if i join you"
"Sure" elle said PJ got a chair and sat down next to Elle
"How Maggie"
"a mess, she woke up three times"
"boss told me she knows about Rose"
"Yeah where is he"
"Melbourne" Paul said.
"Senor detetive paul mcdonald, Detective ron shepard hommerside, this is senor detective PJ Hasham"
"Hi" they shook hands.
"We would like to talk to you and constable doyle tomorrow"
"Sure"
"PJ did Pat made it"
"Yeah he did, he staying with her tonight. He knows about what happen, he not happy"
"Who Pat" Ron asked
"Sargent Pat doyle, Maggie father"
"Ok" they talk for fifteen minutes then Elle and Tim went into the dinning room for dinner then home since it has been a busy day for them.
The next morning Ron and Paul interview PJ at the station and Maggie at the hospital. They could see how much of a mess she was in. She was able to tell them what had happened so they would know and how long the abuse was going on for. Every thing. They even spoke to the doctor about into injuries both Maggie and Rose sustain as well photos of there injuries before surgery.
The next day every one heard that Jeff Rice has been charge for the murder of Rose and the attempted murder of Maggie.
The next day there was a police furnal for Rose at mount thomas. Her family was there for it. Tim and Elle also showed up for the funeral. Afterwards everyone went to the pub for the wake.
Chris had one of the chairs from the parlor out in the bar area for Elle to sit in. Everyone talk and mingled. Tim got Elle food and drinks first then himself. Some of the people including Rose family walk over and talk to Elle since Rose mention her when she talks to them when she calls them.
Later that night Tim left then return with the kids. They were having dinner at the pub with Tom and the others plus it was the last day for Elle since she is now on maternity leave.
On monday morning Tim and elle showed up to the hospital for a check up as well see Maggie for an hour before returning back home where she was on bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy. Tim work from home and only went out to drop the kids and pick them up from daycare, getting the groceries and files from the office.
Two weeks later, Maggie was able to return home and back to work but was on light duties.
Week later Tim just return home after dropping the kids off at daycare and went to the office to sort out paperwork when he saw Elle closing the front door and got bag in her hand. Tim got out and walked over to her as she walked down the steps
"elle, what are you doing"
"hospital now, my water broke after you left"
Tim took the bag from her hand then help her into the wagon then he put the bag in the back seat then ran around and got in
"what about Doctor Green"
"she waiting for us, now go" she said as a contraction hit. Tim started the wagon up and back down the driveway.
He was speeding to get to the hospital when she was having another contraction. He look up in the rear vision mirror to see flashing lights. "I have to pull over" he said
"no time they coming, just go" she said breathing.
When they reach the hospital Tim stop off at the loading zone "Get some help, i'm crowning" tim got out and ran inside for help.
The cop car stop behind them and the cop got out and ran towards the entrance. When Elle tooted the horn. The cop stop and turn to see a women in labour, he ran over to her
"elle" he said in shocked
"Adam, Tim went to get help, I've been having double contractions" she screwed her face up then scream
"what does that mean"
"it means i'm having one contration on top of another and in other words, they coming now"
then Tim showed up with Doctor Green, gurney and two nurses. He helped her out of the car and she wraps her arms around Tim Shoulders and neck with her legs apart
"the head is out" Elle said Doctor green went down on her knees and lifted the dress up and took a look.
"OH god she right" then Elle push then scream
"that it Elle just one more" Tim was rubbing her back as she pushed, then the baby came out, they all hear it cry as it took it first breath
"congratulations, it a boy" lucky the staff got couple of towels.
Elle got onto the gurney and sheet was placed over her, she undid her dress that got buttons that done up so far. She move it apart so the doctor could lay him on her chest.
"That what i call a quick birth" Doctor green said
"Oh boy, here we go again" elle said as she started pushing again.
Minute later "It a boy, congratulation twin boys" Doctor green said.
They move the first baby over then lay the second one on her chest then they cover them both with a towel. Tim gives her a kiss. Tony timms who got a police scanner showed up and took photos of what happened as soon as he saw who it was. Tim went and park the wagon and got Elle bag out while Adam called the station and the staff wheel elle and the boys into the hospital
"Mount thomas station this is three zero eight"
"This is mount thomas station go a head three zero eight"
"Maggie the wagon I was chasing it belongs to Tim cole"
"Did he give you a reason why he was speeding"
"Yeah Elle went into labour, she didn't make it into the hospital where she gave birth to the twin boys next to the loading zone outside the hospital"
"Copy that i'll pass the message onto the boss mount thomas back on channel" Maggie said.
She walked over and knocked onto the boss door then open it "Boss, adam call over the radio, the wagon he was pursuing, it Tim cole. Elle went into labour, she gave birth to two boys outside the hospital next to the loading zone" tom look at Maggie in shocked
"that must of been a quick birth"
"It must of been alright. But she was in labour to two hours when she had the triplets"
"that true. Tim must of been over the moon"
"Wouldn't you be boss" he smile
"Yes i would be alright. Thank you for telling me"
two days later when tim got the morning paper he saw the front page photo with head line 'Elle cole give birth to twins in front of hospital' Tim read how elle gave birth in front of the hospital and that it was a quick birth and quote from Elle
"Tim is shocked but happy to be here to experience my pregnancy and birth of our sons even though we plan on having them inside the hospital, not outside" She said laughing. there were four photos.
One with Elle holding the twin boys on her chest with a towel covering them both and Tim next to her smiling at them. And in the second photo it show Tim kissing Elle. The third one is a photo of Elle, Tim, twins and triplets. Then it showed fourth photo of Elle in hospital bed with her hold one boy and Tim holding the other and he was sitting on the side of the bed smiling for the camera.
Elle received heaps of flowers and cards from mount thomas police, groups that she knows, cole and family crew from all four cities and towns when they got word about the birth of the twins.
Two days later elle and twins left the hospital and returned home. Tim stay at home and help her out for a week before leaving to go down to Melbourne to see his lawyer as well do some work while down there. Elle stayed at home because of the kids.
While he was down there he showed up at his family home where he knocks on the door and waited. When the door open it was a maid he never seen before "Can I help you sir"
"Yeah is liz and Henry cole in"
"Yes they are and you are sir"
"there grandson" he walks in and down to where he knows where his grandparents are with the maid trying to stop him. He walked into the converny to see them having having morning tea with his mother Joan.
she look up and was shocked to see who walk into the room "tim"
"Hello mother, grandma, grand dad"
"what are you doing here, you shame this family, now get out" he said in an angry tone.
"I love elle and you know that grand dad. She honest and a hard worker. And she not like Claire"
"Cause she not, claire came from a respectable family" his grandma said.
"That the problem grandma, Claire never lift a finger to help out or do anything, she got a maid and chief to do everything while she went out and spend my money on parties. You know i'm not much of a party person. With elle she showed me things, she taught me things that I took for granted while growing up. And she amazes me. We do things together where Claire and i never done things together. Before elle and i got married she was teaching me how to make spaghetti from scratch, and I tell you, it was fun. She taught me how to cook, how to iron. I told her I could get a maid a chief to do all of this. She said no, this way you not only learning and having fun but spending with the one you love and she was right"
"what did you do with the spaghetti" His mother asked He smile at the memory
"We made spaghetti meatballs for dinner that night and the next night with the pasta that wasn't cut up we made lasagna."
"Why are you here" his grand father asked.
"To give you these" he pass them boxes.
They open them up and pulled out framed photos. "Oh my" his mother said looking at one of them
"what is this" his grandmother asked
"Family photo grandma. That Timothy Junor, TJ for short, Victoria, James, Connor and Charlie" he pointed to each of them
"Twins and triplets" his mother said
"Yes, elle had to have fertility treatments so we could have them. She found out that she was pregnant after i was supposed to be dead. She brought three up by herself and had some help for friends during the rough times."
"and the twins" his mother asked
"So I can be there to experience what she going through from morning sickness, mood swings, strange cravings, to the doctors appointment, up to the birth of them. I was there for it all and i tell you it was amazing. Elle was an amazing woman. If fact" he opened one of the boxes and pulled it out. It was front page of the gazzetti.
"As you can see, she made the headlines" he put it on the table for them to read.
"You say she no good, not good for this family. Well she proved you wrong but you won't accept her in to this family after everything she had been through in the past seven years she still surprises me and I love her for that. She accepts me for me, not my background, not the money."
"what did she do with the money you left her from the will"
"she grew our business grand dad, like i said the last time you saw us a year ago. She putting people first, the staff safety first. It's not about the money. She didn't care about it. We talk about me coming here. I didn't want to come, but my wise and wonder wife said I should and that to show you what you all missing out on and show you what sort of person Elle is. If you want to see what sort of person she is, here" he pass his mother a folded up note
"Be there to see what sort of women Elle is" then he turned and walked out of the room. His mother opened the note it was a date, time and place. She pass it to her mother in law to read.
