CH 25
Month later Tim and Elle showed up at Wedery with Tom behind them. It was the day of the opening of the new police station and house. When they arrived there were people including the media. Tim and Elle got out of there wagon and they got the twins out and put them in the baby carry bag and strap them to their fronts. Then they walked over to where the super attendant, Tom, Grant and his wife is.
"Elle Tim"
"Hi Grant, Laura"
"How are you doing"
"Great thanks"
"so these are the twins that I saw in the papers last month"
"Yes it is"
"so who is who"
"I got Charlie" elle said
"ok, how can you tell the difference between them" the super attendant asked
"charlie got brown eyes and connor got blue" tim said
"Oh, good point"
they talk for another five minutes then the super attended walk over to where the blue and white ribbon is. He said a short speech and thanking Tim and elle company for building the new station. Then Tim and elle walk over as everyone clapped.
"I know you all itching to look inside" elle said making everyone laugh.
"But after what happen last year i know it you the town hard. But now with the new station and house. Grant doesn't have to travel far to work" they all laugh.
"You all been amazing and wonderful in welcoming your new officer to this town, I know that he and his family appreciated the warm welcome." elle said
"so without further ado" Tim pick up the sissies and Elle manage to out her hands onto them as the cut the ribbon as they both said
"Wedery police station is now open" Then they smile and kiss as every one clap.
Then Tim past Grant a key "You now open for business" Grant step ford and unlock and open the door.
Every one clap then they talk as they walk into the new police station looking around the large spaceage station. They were shocked by the size of it but they notice how cool it is in side. They even check out the two cells. The media talk to the super attended, Grant, Elle and Tim about the new police station.
"Mrs cole we notice that the doors are wider care to tell us why is that" a reporter asked
"As you can see in this photo of the old station that there is no ramps and doors aren't wide enough for the gurneys they got today. With these new doors they are half a meter wider so it easier for someone in a wheelchair as well a gurney to get through the doors"
"Is it true that you design this station"
"Yes I did a rough design but one my artcutic to designit to what it is today"
"Is it true that cole and family got contracts to rebuild five other stations in victoria area"
"I can't comment on that" tim said. They talked for another minute before walking over to talk to a couple of residents.
Couple hours later Tim and Elle return home and Tom return to mount thomas station. On the way home Elle turn to Tim who was driving. "Tim, i saw your mum and grandparents at the opening"
"same here"
"Are you please that they came"
"I was surprised but yeah i was pleased. They got to see what you are like and how you handle your self"
"thank you did a great job yourself"
"thanks hon. It has been a great day and turn out"
"Yes it was and the residents love the news station"
"that good, you are a great designer"
"I have my moments"
"Yes you do" when they return home they took care of the twins and relax for the rest of the day.
Month later the trail of Jeff rice began. It lasted for three weeks down in Melbourne. Both Maggie and PJ was called in to testify in the case. Jeff was found guilty and sent to prison for fifteen years.
At the same Time Elle and Tim they went to Steveson for the opening of the new station and house there. Then they spent the night in Bendigo before returning back to mount thomas. They also learn that cole limited was slowly losing business after what happened at Tim father and Claire court case over a year ago. And what elle said about the safety of the staff.
Three months later it was Maggie twenty fifth birthday. PJ took her out early in the morning to a spot just outside of town where they watch the sunrise together. While there PJ purpose to her which she said yes to. When they return back to her place for breakfast and a shower where they made love while there. When they showed up for work, they keep their engagement a secret plus Maggie was spending the day in court.
That night at the pub Maggie was shocked and surprised to see her father and two brothers there. They all had dinner in the dining room that Elle book a month earlier. Everyone enjoyed themselves as well give Maggie her birthday gifts.
"PJ what did you give Maggie" elle asked
"Jewellery" he said
"what sort" nick asked PJ look at Maggie
"It's up to you" she pulled something out of her pocket and open it in front of PJ. he pick it up and slide it ring on her finger. Everyone was shocked
"I purpose to her this morning on the block of land that I brought and she said yes" pJ said
"what you brought it" Maggie said in shocked
"Yes, remember last year when we chasie Clarke Ross just as the sun was starting to rise after the steak out"
"I remember saying what a beautiful sun rise, just imagine seeing that every morning"
"That is why i brought it when it came up for sale and I spoke to Tim here about designaing and building a house on it for us"
"How can you afford to buy land and build a house" tom asked.
"Lotto ticket that was in my christmas stocking, I won the first division, won over seven hundred and fifty throusand dollars."
"what sort of house did you have in mind" Maggie asked
"the type you like, old fashion on the outside but moden inside and a veranda"
"Your full of surprises PJ" she give him a hug and kiss.
"PJ a word" Pat said
"Pat if your worried that i hurt Maggie, we both know i wont. I love her"
"i love him dad"
"tom did you know about this"
"I found out while she was in hospital Pat, and you saw how upset and worried PJ was for her"
"that is true, but got to remember PJ she my girl to" he said shaking PJ hand
"Yes i know that Pat"
"Cake anyone" Maggie said. Everyone enjoyed themselves as well look at Maggie engagement ring.
The next day everyone at the station was shocked after a big drug bust where PJ and Adam found a guy unresponsive. When Maggie walk into the bedroom she scream as she ran over to to shake Robby her brother awake. PJ pull her off Robbie and hugged her as she cried just as Pat and Mick ran into the room and was shocked with what they saw.
"Sorry Pat" PJ said
"I'll take Maggie out of here" Pat said. Maggie went into Pat arms as he and Mick walk out of the bedroom just as Nick walk in and saw Robbie body.
"I'll contact Tom" Nick said as he walked out of the room and pull the radio out and contacted tom
"Boss we are going to need a corner and elle"
"elle why"
"boss the body it Robbie doyle, looks like he OD. Maggie not taking it well"
"copy that i'll give her a call"
Elle was at home and just finish feeding the twins when the house phone rings. "Hello"
"elle it Tom can you come down to the station, it important"
"what is it"
"Maggie going to need you"
"tom" she said in a tone
"there was a drug bust, they found a body, it Robbie doyle, looks like he OD" elle was shocked
"my god, ok i'll be there soon," she said in shocked then hung up.
She sorted out the boys then left and head to the station. When she arrived, she honked the horn. So Tom walk out and help her with the boys.
"Where Maggie"
"adam bring her back"
"bloody hell just as everything was going so well for her, after last night's birthday party the engagement, she was so happy and now this"
"I agree" they walk in side and they put the boys in Tom's office.
Where Elle put a fluffy blanket on the ground and lay them on it and got other things set up for them. Once every thing done, she left Tom with them while she went and made drinks.
When Maggie walk back into the station. Elle walk around and hug her then they walk into PJ office where she closes the door behind her.
Hour and a half later every one return back to the station. Tom walked out of his office. "Where Maggie" Pat asked
"In PJ office with Elle"
"Thanks" Pat walk over to PJ office and open the door and walked in he saw Elle with her arm around Maggie shoulder. Maggie turns to her father.
"Why dad, why"
"I don't know, I didn't even know he was on drugs" Elle stood up and walked to the door
"I'll leave you two to talk"
"thanks Elle" Maggie said
"no worries" then she walked out of the room closing the door behind her.
She walked over to Mick "How are you doing"
"Ok i guess, it a shocked"
"It would before any families"
"Yeah"
"Go in there they both need you as you need them"
"thanks" he walked over and open the door and walk in closing the door behind him.
Elle turn to PJ "Are you ok"
"Yeah worried about Maggie"
"just be there for her and listen to her"
"I will"
Later that afternoon a fax arrived from the corner. PJ got it from the fax machine and read what it said then he walked into Tom's office. "Robbie doyle autopsy report came back, he died from an overdose of bad batch of drugs that been going around Victoria in the past month" PJ said
"And it here in mount thomas" tom said as PJ pass him the report
"Or he brought it up with him. We don't know till the test results are back from the drugs that we brought back and find out if it from the same bad batch or not"
"It got here that Robbie took enough to kill ten people and there was only one puncher mark. Then it must of been his first time or changing drugs. But from what the three people we arrested this morning, i think it might be murder but make it look like an OD" Tom said
"From the syringe it must've been highly concentrated for it to be up that high"
"I agree. Are you going to tell Pat"
"Yeah, i'll go around to Maggie place now" then he walked out the door and got into the CI car and drove to Maggie place where Pat and Mick is.
He walks in the back door to see Pat and Mick arguing. "Where Maggie" they turn to PJ
"she gone for a walk after she heard us auring" Pat said
"You two are unbelievable. You just lost a brother, a son and your arguing. I'm going to go and find Maggie"
"what are you doing here" mick asked
"i got the autopic report back on Robbie"
"was it OD" Pat asked
"yes it was OD but there was only one puncture mark Pat, enough to kill ten men" then he turned and walked out of Maggie's house.
He drove to his place where he went looking for her and found her on his bed, he could see she cry herself to sleep. He got blanket out and cover her with it and kiss her forehead before walking out of his bedroom closing the door then went and call Tom.
when Maggie woke up she lie there then she frond when she notice a blanket over her. She got up and went to use the loo. When she walked out and into the kitchen PJ smile as he made them a drink. He turned around and step forward and hugged her.
"I went to your place, i heard Pat and Mick arguing, i ask there about where you were, they said you were gone. I know one of three places. So i came here" he pulled back and cup her face while looking at her and then kiss her
"I found goldy lock on my bed" Maggie smile.
"PJ why were you looking for me"
"Robbie autipic report."
"Was it over dose"
"It from the bad batch of drugs that around victoria. He had enough in him to kill ten men."
"OH my… Mick dad and i was talking about it. Dad had no idea that Robbie was taking drugs, he in the drug squad. But. my gosh"
"I know, I made some calls before i got the results. Robbie been working undercover for couple of months for some drug dealer in Melbourne when this bad batch of drug hit the streets. The officer I spoke to he said that had five deaths in one night just in Melbourne alone that was two months ago. But he suspects that this dealer knows that Robbie a cop and had him killed with these drugs. I spoke to the three we arrested. They all said that a man showed up to drop off the drugs, but it wasn't the same man they normally deal with. He went and talked to Robbie alone in the bedroom then left less than five minutes later. Then we showed up half an hour later"
"You think it was murder"
"It looks like it"
"but why"
"they must have found out that he's a copper and had him killed"
"Did the officer tell you who Robbie was working undercover for"
"no he can't say over the phone. I told them that Robbie died from an overdose of the bad drug. He seem upset about it"
"Up set in what way"
"Like it not the first time an undercover cop was killed"
"a Mole"
"could be if so it not good news for any of the other undercover cops out there"
"i agree"
"I'll know more tomorrow"
"Will you let me know"
"I will" he hug and kiss her. Then he returns to finish making their drinks.
"Do you want to return to your place tonight or stay here"
"Stay here, i don't want to see dad and Mick tonight"
"that fine by me"
That night they kiss in bed and PJ held her in his arms as they sleep.
