CH 30
Two days later when Maggie and PJ return from there honeymoon they went home to see the house empty and a note on the kitchen bench. Maggie pick it up and open it
"PJ"
"what where our furniture" he turned to her as she walked over to him
"Lets go to the station and pick up our house keys"
"what, house is finished" he said in shocked then she showed him the note
"PJ, Maggie welcome home, well not this place. Don't worry your stuff isn't stolen. We put them in your new home. Come to the station to pick up the keys and remember PJ to carry your bride over the threshold when you walk into your new house, Elle and Tim" He read out.
"Let's go and see our new home" they walk back out side and lock the door then they got back into PJ car and drove to the station.
When they got there and walk in side they could hear laughter. "Hey welcome back" elle said as she walked over and gave them a hug then the others did.
"Thanks, we got your note"
"right" she walk over and got keys out of her bag and walk over and pass a set to PJ and the other to Maggie "Here you guys go, we all met up at the imperial for dinner tonight" elle said
"sounds good" PJ said
"Why not, we will talk tonight"
"ok remember to buy some groceries before heading home"
"thanks we will" then they walk out of the station.
"They are in for one hell of a surprise when they get home" elle said grinning.
When Maggie and PJ drove closer to there new home. They were shocked when they saw it "Oh wow" Maggie said
"i agree, it amazing"
"Yeah" when they turn down the driveway and stop outside the house they were shocked with what they saw.
"This is… what I pictured" Maggie said smiling
"come on, let's take our things in side"
"Hang on before we do, remember what elle said in the note"
"Yeah" they walk up to the front door where PJ unlock it and open the large wooden door. Then he picked Maggie up in his arms and kissed her then walk into the house. He stopped and put her on the ground.
They saw a large foiler "wow"
"Yeah, let's go and get everything in then check the rest of the house out"
"good idea" they return to the car and got everything out and took it inside. When they walk into the kitchen they were shocked by the size of it and the dinning room that was just off it
"wow this looks amazing" Maggie said
"Yeah" the kitchen was done up in varnish timber walls, bench top, the floors and ceiling. When Maggie runs her fingers over the bench top it was smooth.
"This looks old fashioned" she said
"It looks like it but it not, but do you like it"
"I love it" they put the food away.
Then they found the steps and walk up them and they check out each bedroom till they open the last door and walk in then stop "My gosh" Maggie said when they saw the size of there bedroom.
It was so big they could fit four king size beds in the room and still have plenty of room. They saw there new draws, every thing. But what shocked them the most was that the bed was made and the top half folded over.
They found an open bottle of champagne, bowl of strawberries and other foods on both bedside draws. They put their bags down on the large chest that was on the end of the bed then Maggie leaned over and felt the sheets
"they satin"
"Wonder who been here and when"
"Who knows" she walked over and pick up the note
"enjoy your snack and rest, welcome home" Maggie read out.
"You don't think" PJ asked as he walked over to her
"Well we were in the supermarket for half an hour she could of had the stuff at the station and brought it here while we were at the supermarket"
"good point" he took the note out of her hands and drop it on the bed side draws.
Then he cup her face and kiss her. They removed each other clothes and lay on the bed with Maggie on top. They spend the rest of the day making love as well enjoy the food that was set up for them.
That night they walk into the pub. Chris saw them "Welcome back"
"thanks Chris. Where is everyone"
"dining room"
"thanks" they walk around and into the dining room to see Elle, tim, Kids and their friends from the station there waiting for them. They all talk and laugh while enjoying the evening.
"Maggie did you and PJ enjoy your nap" Elle asked quietly
"Yes we did thank you for the surprise, but who got us the chest and the sheets"
"Everyone here put money together and gave it to me, it your wedding gift from them"
"thanks"
"so what did you think of the sheets"
"silky" elle laugh
"Of course but"
"they were amazing, thank you"
"Your welcome. But don't be surprised if they start dropping hints for house warming party"
"Good point i'll talk to PJ about it. So how things at work"
"Crazy PJ fill in, my gosh he was flirting with so many women since he arrived here, it was shocking. Tim and i have seen it before. The guy flirt with the woman gets her into bed then leaves her by the next day and he starts all over again with another woman"
"your joking, what did you do"
"tim started it when he told the detective in front of everyone in the pub…'Stop flirting with married women while your here, we don't want your sort in this town trying to ruin marriages and break women's hearts by loving and leaving them and keep your crabs and viruses to your self we don't want them here'" Maggie was shocked
"oh my so what happens"
"Everyone was shocked. Then the grape vine started working over time. On monday he flirted with a married women, Dash told me about it and who she is. So i called her up and told her about the rumor and what Tim said. But she didn't know who I was. Dash Adam and Nick trying not to laugh when I told the women about Jack hypnotist and crabs and how i saw him scratch his balls couple of times and you don't know where his hand been" Maggie laugh
"elle that was so crawl"
"Nothing compares to what Dash did to him last week" she said giggling
"what happened"
"They pulled over a speeding driver who from st davids. He let her off and she invited him around for dinner as a thank you. That night while he was in the bathroom Dash got into his room and put itching powder in his underwear" Maggie laugh
"Oh no"
"Oh yeah. She follow him to the women house then she went to the closest phone box which was two houses down and call her since he was just getting out of the car and she notice he was scratching himself. She called and warn the women about Jack crabs and told her what the symptoms are. Then she return back to her car and waited. Jack was in the house not even five minutes when she pushed him out the door hearing her say to him 'I don't want your crabs or hypnotist, your a sick man Jack smith.' Jack went to a pub and try to hit on a women there so Dash spoke to a couple of the women and warn them. Soon everyone in st davids heard about it."
"Well that would teach him for what he was trying to do"
"that true, he been a bear with a sore head for three weeks"
"i bet he is"
Hour later Maggie went to get her and PJ a drink when Jack saw her walk around from one side. He looked her over then he got up and walked up and stood next to her "hi" she turn to him
"hi" then she saw Elle look at her mouthing 'that jack' then she use her finger and thumb and put them together as she use it like crab claw. Maggie understood.
"So are you from around here" he asked
"Why did you ask me that" Chris wasn't going to say a thing but watching what was going to happen when she walked over to them
"Hi what would it be"
"Two beers and triple vodka please" Chris grin
"sure" she walk over to sort out the vodka
"Chris" Elle asked
"Get the others, Maggie ordered a triple vodka" elle chuckled
"We know what happened the last time she had it"
"Yeah" Elle turn to the others "you guys don't want to miss this"
"miss what" tom asked
"Maggie, Jack triple vodka" then they all walk to the gap where they could look in the bar.
"This is going to be fun" nick said
"Yeah" PJ said. Chris put the drink on the bar then pour the two beers.
"Cheers" Jack said with his drink. Maggie pick up her vodka and skull it then spray it all over Jack then she pretends that she was coughing. Every one laugh including Chris.
Elle walk around to where Maggie is "Oh dear Maggie you should know not to have a triple shot of vodka"
"you know her" Jack asked Elle
"Yeah senor detetive Jack smith, met constable Maggie Hasham and the guy behind you is senor detetive PJ hasham her husband" Jack turned around to see PJ looking at him
"you deserve that vodka spray mate, trying to hit on my wife"
"I didn't know"
"you should be more observant, Maggie are you ok"
"i'm fine PJ"
"Nick and Adam told me about Jack here, i gather elle told you"
"Yes she did" she picked up two beers and pass one to PJ
"thanks"
"Let us join our friends" then they return back to the dining room.
"In two days you will be back in the city and things will be back to normal here for the rest of us" then Elle turn around and return back to the others.
On monday morning PJ and Maggie walk into the station talking when Elle saw them "Maggie i put your new ID and name tag in your locker"
"thanks Elle" Then she walks into the locker room while PJ walks into his office. When Maggie walk out she walk over to the kitchen to make a drink
"all settle in"
"Yes we are and this morning we sat on the swing set that Tim made for us as we watch the sunrise together. It was a perfect"
"Well you both can do that every day unless it rains"
"that's true." Then the phone rang so Elle walk over to answer it
"good morning mount thomas police… yes, what is your name sir" she got Maggie attention, so she walked over and open PJ door
"elle want to see you"
"OK" he stood up and walked out of his office to see Elle writing down the details
"OK Mr Nelson the detective is on his way" she ripe the note off the pad and pass it to Maggie who show it to PJ "no sir he gone detetive Hasham is back, yes he on his way…. Yes she with him, ok they will be ten minutes, ok sir" then she hung up
"You two better get going" they walk out the door with PJ grabbing the CI car keys from the wall as he walk pass. Elle return back to making her drink then start on the paperwork.
Couple months later it was christmas Tim and elle went to Melbourne, and Bendigo for the pre christmas party. PJ and Maggie look after the kids for the night over the two weekends. When it was held back at Tim and Elle place everyone enjoyed themselves.
On monday morning Elle finds out that there was three rapes over the weekend and PJ and Maggie are on there way to the hospital to talk to the victim. Dash brought in a kid who was shoplifting and finds out that his father is a well known lawyer in town and his older brother had to bail him out since there father is down in Melbourne.
"Can you believe that kid, who does he think he is"
"Smart alec who thinks he can get away with anything" Nick said then senor sargent monica draper showed up and talk to Tom about the rapes. It took four days and radio announcement plus working out and setting a trap at Dash place they were able to catch the rapist who they thought it would be but needed proof so they set a trap and caught him.
The next day is christmas day. Since Nick and Adam are on duty. Everyone including the kids had christmas lunch at the station. Even Moncia Draper and Chris was there. It was a quiet christmas for them all. While everyone was enjoying their lunch Elle look over to Maggie and PJ, she notice the way they talking quietly. Maggie notice elle watching them and Elle raise her eyebrows at her and gave her a certain smile.
"Ok you two what going on" elle said. They all look at her then to Maggie and PJ.
"We might as well" Maggie said
"Are you sure"
"Elle got a fair idea" PJ turn to Elle who is grinning
"well"
"We having a baby" PJ said Every one look at them in shocked then grin then they started congratulating them
"how far along are you" Dash asked
"Ten weeks"
"honeymoon baby, congraduation" Elle said
"Well we did have a month honeymoon" PJ said
"and you two been very busy on the honeymoon" tim said laughing
"Yes we have been"
"This is good news we all needed after a hell of a year we have had this year" elle said
"It sure is" PJ said
"what do you mean" Dash asked
"the Death of Neil, Murder of Rose Edgan, murder of Robbie Doyle and death of Wayne Patterson. But there been bright side this year"
"what bright side" Monca asked
"Wedding of boss daughter Anna, PJ and Maggie wedding and now little one on the way, i wonder if there going to be any more surprises today"
"you never know" Nick said.
Then the door open so ever one turn to see who walk in "Hi dad"
"susan" he said in shocked. He opens the gate as she stepped forward to give him a hug
"Merry Christmas everyone"
"Senior sergeant Moncia draper, constable Dash McKinley, this is my youngest daughter Susan"
"hi everyone" then she turned to dad. "I got a surprise for you, close your eyes"
"OK" Tom close his eyes then she went to the door and open in then she turn to every one and put her fingers to her lips. They saw Bret and anna walk in they were shocked when they saw Anna
"Ok dad you can open them" tom open his eyes
