(A/N): Hey Guys! So, I promised you another chapter, and here it is! Plus, with the plot point twisty thing, yay!

By the way Elaine froze, we knew it was something big. No one except for Leo knew the full story of Elaine's past and her family, and if this was something he didn't know... it was time to sit up and pay attention.

Leo didn't sit up, but I could see he was watching her just as intently as we were maybe even more so.

"Because..." The end of the word was drawn out, and although she kept her eyes locked with Leo's, we could see she was trying to think up an excuse.

"Because you were fencing?" He asked quietly, and she looked confused for a second before rolling her eyes at him, though there was no weight behind the gesture.

"Because it's what he did." She bit her lip, avoiding Leo's eyes for a minute before his persistence won out. "Leo, my dad was a vampire hunter." I was surprised though that, when we began to gape at her, Leo remained unmoved.

"That's not really that surprising." Now it was Elaine's turn to gape and splutter.

"Excuse me?" She gasped quietly, and Leo shrugged.

"Hunting vampires was a family tradition, especially in pureblood families a few centuries ago. It's not really all that surprising that a Hugar would be a hunter." He reiterated. "In fact, you all probably have distant relatives who were vampire hunters, even you, Pete." Peter looked shocked.

"M-me?" Leo threw him a broad grin.

"Yeah. Lily, too. Vampire hunters were particularly popular in the earlier ages of the wizarding community, so it doesn't really matter if you have no noticeable wizarding blood- besides, there were a few muggle vampire hunters hanging around." He said it like it was nothing, and I couldn't help but cock an eyebrow at him.

"How do you know all that?" He shrugged, rather nonchalantly, but there was a tightness around the corners of his mouth.

"I've been reading some of my grandfathers old journals- on my dads side... As it turns out, the Ellwood's had never been fond of my kind." And that was the first time we had heard him refer to vampires as 'his kind', which kind of worried me.

"Eh, what do they know?" I tried to play it off, and Leo winced.

"Well, considering my dad's whole moral compass- and subsequently mine- came from them, I'm guessing quite a bit." Sirius frowned slightly.

"So how did they react to your dad being turned, then?" Leo hesitated for a second, then shook his head.

"Jonothan turned first- I haven't gotten to that part, but my dad said it was pretty rough, and... Jonothan killed them before he turned my dad, so..." We paused for a second, before Elaine gripped one of Leo's huge hands in her teeny tiny ones.

"What a prick." She said, so quietly, so calmly, that Leo couldn't help but cock a smile.

"We knew that already." He replied, gaze lingering over the faint, silvery scar where the older vampire had bitten her.

"Yeah, but... that's a whole other level of prick-dom." She hissed, and Leo shook his head lightly, throwing an absolutely adoring smile her way.

"Not to me it isn't."
