Shoko meets with the BB to follow up about the clubs they joined. Each of them explains. In Shiryu's case, he got dismissed from the Debate Club and joined the Student Council, where he received a makeover. Shoko likes his new look. She then explains the Martial Arts Club she's in and a bit of her background. She likes them and wants to be their friend for future hangouts. Seiya and the boys consult outside the room and return to accept Shoko's friendship offer due to her generosity.
The weather for today is sunny.
This week begins the May chapter.
Shoko visits BB's classroom during lunchtime to follow up on the initial meeting. She approaches without a second thought.
Shoko – Hi there! I'm here to follow up with you guys about clubs.
Seiya (stares) And you are...
Shoko (upset) Don't tell me you forget who I am? (sighs) We only met once, so here I go; I'm Shoko from class 1D.
Shun – I didn't forget because you're classmates with Chihiro-san.
Shoko – Ah! So, you joined the club after all. How was it?
Shun – I pretty much enjoy it. Although I'm the only guy there...
Shoko – I'm so glad. (sits in a chair) What about the rest of you?
Seiya – I joined the Cooking Club, and I got to taste weird food.
Shoko – Yeah, that position is difficult.
Hyoga – the club you told me about is a hidden one where we read only a specific type of book.
Shoko – You mean a club about the occult?
Hyoga – More like Non-Secular.
Shoko (nods) Okay...
Shiryu – I joined the Debate Club, but they let me go after five days. Thankfully, I joined the Student Council.
Shoko (whispers) Speaking of which, I've heard a lot of comments. And I've seen students mellow out around you.
Seiya – Yeah, I notice that. They're not afraid or pissed off, but they keep their distance. It's like having Shiryu join the Student Council made students sigh with relief.
Hyoga – I bet they let him join not because they wanted him but to watch over us.
Shoko – You need to participate in student activities to gain trust. Clubs are just the beginning.
Seiya – But we can't participate in sports.
Shoko – There are still non-sporting events like health fairs and culture festivals. You can't let the lack of participation in sports ruin your school experience.
The tension is intense, and a topic of change is needed.
Shiryu – Let's change the topic. What about you, Shoko-san? Can you tell us about yourself and your club?
Shoko – Thank you, Shiryu-kun. I like your new hairstyle, and those glasses match.
Shiryu (light blush) Um, thanks...
Shoko – I joined because I've been participating as a kid. You see, my parents were top athletes. They retired, and my dad inherited the dojo. I've been practicing alongside his students. So, by joining the club, I hope to hone my skills and become a professional like them.
Seiya – Wow! That's an excellent goal to have Shoko-san.
Shoko – Thank you! (blush) I like you guys... Don't take it the wrong way! I'm just your fan. It's just that I want to hang out with you sometime. So, can we be friends?
Seiya – Shoko-san, can you give us a sec?
Seiya gestures to his friends to exit the classroom.
Seiya – We'll be right back!
Shoko (waves) Okay!
The boys consult by the stairway.
Seiya – She wants to be our friend. What do you think?
Hyoga – We should let her.
Shiryu – I agree. We owe that much.
Shun – Shoko-san looks like she knows and then some.
Seiya – Then it's decided. There's no mistake. We hang out with her, and more students will like us. Let's head back.
The rest nods and return to the classroom. Shoko remains eagerly seated.
Seiya (arms on waist) Shoko-san! We shall accept your friendship offer.
Shoko (stands up gasping) You guys are the best! Thank you! I promise to exceed your expectations. Funny that we don't belong to the same class and club, but we manage to be friends.
Seiya – Yeah, we notice that.
Shun – That shouldn't stop us.
Shoko (laughs) Of course not!
The bell rings, and the lunch period ends. Shoko must return to her classroom.
Shoko – Okay, guys! Talk to you later!
Seiya (waves) Alright! See you later!
Once she leaves, the boys turn to each other.
Seiya (nods) Guys, we made the right choice.
Hyoga – Definitely, no regrets.
Shun – We totally see ourselves hanging with her.
Shiryu – And also guaranteed to last all three years of school.
