Chapter nine
"Eric?" I questioned
"Yes?" he replied as we lay in bed together
"Was it hard at first"
"What?"
"Being around people"
"Yes why do you ask"
" would it be long enough that Jason noticed I am not aging"
"You don't know what it is yet. You don't know if this is something deadly or something that they will give you a bottle of pills for"
"I know but it is going to happen eventually" I said sounding a bit said
"Do you not want this" Eric sat up looking concerned
"No it's not that. I just never really thought about it before this because I thought it be a few years because of the age difference"
"Sookie, there's nothing saying you can't tell your brother. We can do it tomorrow night if you want. Yes you probably shouldn't see him in person for a while after"
"Oh okay"
"Is that all" Eric asked
"Nope" I sat up kissed him and pulled the blanket over our head.
the next morning *
"Yes hello doctor" I said. The phone call I been anxious about for awhile now
"Well I don't really have good news"
"Pancreatitis. It's not per say deadly on its own but without that organ you can't really live and that organ is dying"
"How long"
"A year before it gets bad, maybe 5 to live tops" I hung up.
I cried. I guess I don't have to do this right away. If I don't I'll be suffering though. I started balling. I looked at Eric. Dead to the world. I wonder what he will think.
It's only noon. I just threw myself into bed and cries until I passed out.
"Sookie are you okay" Eric rubbed me as u woke up
"No"
"Bad results" he asked
"Yeah. I get year before I get really bad. Five to live but his tone made it seem like he didn't believe I had that long"
"What do you want to do"
"I don't want to suffer for a year slowly getting worse," I said
"How about your brother"
"Can you tell him I'm scared"
"Yes I will"
"You want to do this now"
"I am not sure"
Eric pov
It worries me to see her so miserable. I can't really do anything.
"There is no rush, you won't die tomorrow" I said
" Do you just want to lay here all night?"
She nodded and I sat next to her and wrapped my arm around her.
