Getting out of the SUV across the street from the car that Sofia was waiting at, Sara met Grissom at the back of the vehicle. He opened the trunk and turned to her, seeing her going to grab her kit. Reaching out, he brushed a piece of fly away hair behind her ear. She smiled at him before going to grab her spare camera, her main on the charger on the back of the lab.

She picked up his whicker field hat and held it out for him to take. "You know, maybe we should take Hank and drive out to Hoover Dam one weekend. We could camp, maybe look for some insects for your collection." She turned her head to see him watching her as she spoke. "I mean, my unused birthday gift is a great weekend idea but I kind of like the idea of just the three of us enjoying nature."

He reached shut the trunk once they'd backed up far enough. "You could pull out those photography skills for more than just crime scenes. I know you mentioned enjoying those photograph classes you took at Harvard and Berkeley."

They turned and started towards where Sofia and the uniform were waiting. Sara nodded, "I do miss taking photos of nature."

"Next weekend?" He asked positively.

"Are you reading the same schedule that I am?" She joked, "I have next weekend on-call and in Vegas, that's practically an assigned shift."

He nodded, "okay, how about the next?"

"You're on call. But the weekend after we're not."

"We'd need to get a different leash for Hank. His normal collar leash won't work for camping, it'll snap loose when he pulls."

Sara grinned, "I'll pick one up on my way home."

Sofia held out her arms as they neared her, both reining in their smiles and grins. "So, patrol found it and while not the one on the BOLO, they felt it fit." She turned to the back of the vehicle as Sara broke away to the front and Grissom joined Sofia at the back.

"Multiple tickets." Sara stated while holding up her camera to take a picture of the tickets on the front windshield.

"This isn't a Pontiac sunfire." Grissom stated and looked Sofia.

"Your broadcast was for a blue Pontiac. Patrol thought this was worth a look." She stated as they smelt the decomp.

"How bad does the smell have to get before Parking Control calls Homicide?" He asked her because it was a valid question.

Sara made her way towards the back of the vehicle. "No way this car was at the trailer park. I think we've got a new case." She looked at the two, "first citation was issues five days ago. Car's probably been here at least six."

Sofia inserted the tool into the lock, "six days in the summer heat." She popped it and the trunk was open, all three rearing back a bit. Sara covered her mouth with the tickets.

"And the trunk becomes a crock-pot." Grissom told them.

Sara took a breath before leaning in a fraction, "looks like a male and a female."

Turning on his flashlight, Grissom pointed it at the back of a skull. "That could be an entry wound in her skull."

Sofia sighed, "well if she was shot in there, there might be bullets and casings. I say we process the car in place, let's get rolling."

Sara turned her head towards the two, feeling horrible for a fraction of a second for putting Grissom between the two of them. "Area's uncontrolled. Evidence could be contaminated or lost. We need to get this back to the lab."

Without missing a beat, Grissom spoke the first thing out of his mouth. "Car condom." He shut the lid and looked to Sara and then Sofia, seeing equally bewildering expressions. "What?"

Sofia motioned to the car. "You said, 'car condom' and I don't know what that is. Sara, do you?"

"Not a clue." She motioned to Grissom, "little info could go a long way."

Grissom sighed and looked between them equally. "What does a condom do? It contains material. We wrap the car like using a condom so it doesn't leak."

"How exactly are we going to do that?" Sara asked him, "it's not like I can call the lab and ask them to have a 'car condom' ready on standby."

He pointed between them, "two heads are better than one, you two figured it out." With the last word stated, he walked away.

Sofia turned to Sara, "don't you just want to knock him upside the head and make him speak plain English?"

"You have no idea." The brunette told her and knew if Sofia was actually aware of how often she had to interpret information, it would leave the blonde confused even further.

Grissom entered the garage to see Sara and Greg going through the trunk, letting the decomp drain out. He watched them for a moment as Sara coached Greg and helped him get the necessary information. She laid down her print and looked to Greg as he spoke.

"That makes 34 prints, Jacqui is going to love me." It was spoken sarcastically as Greg rinsed off a particulate. "You got something?"

He held up a piece of something. "I think so. Bullet fragment. Copper-jacketed, rules out a .22."

Sara smiled, "see, it was worth it."

Announcing himself, he spoke. "What do we have?" He walked over and Greg held up the fragment, "a bullet fragment, excellent Greg."

Motioning to her friend, Sara grinned. "He got decomp in his mouth. He's officially a cannibal."

"He would have tasted it on purpose." Greg stated.

"I would have had my shield on." Grissom informed the newest CSI. "Decomp should never end up in our bodies. Too many toxins and fats." He pointed to Sara, "I love it when you dress up."

She smirked as he left the way he came. Greg looked at Sara, sweaty and in coveralls after working in the garage with him. "He's turned on by you all sweaty, covered in decomp, particulates, and in coveralls?"

"Oh Greg, if you only knew all the ways I turn that man on." She spoke as she looked at a strainer, moving two small pieces only to see they were small granules of rock.

The Peppermill was loud but not loud enough for them not to be able to hear. Warrick, Nick, and Greg were at a table talking when Sofia showed up, a smile on her face. "I got told I was invited."

"You most definitely are." Nick moved to the side so she could sit down. "It took some bribing but we managed to get Catherine to come after taking Lindsey to school, so she's picking up Brass. Grissom said he had one thing left at the lab and Sara said she'd be along shortly."

Warrick motioned to Sofia, "tell us about the transfer, we have to know."

"Well my mother, she made captain and so the board was shuffled enough that a detective space opened. I missed Vegas and some of its inhabitants so I returned."

Greg smiled at the blonde, "we missed you too."

Catherine and Brass were ordering drinks as Sara and Grissom showed up, the boys and Sofia already had drinks of their own. "Are we interrupting?"

"Grissom you made it." Warrick held out his hand and Grissom shook it.

"Of course. I've been reminded that part of being a family and team is participating when appropriate." The entomologist stated while sitting down, taking a moment to pull out Sara's chair.

"Thank you." She smiled at him before turning her attention to the group.

Catherine pulled an envelope out of her purse and held it out to Warrick. "We all pulled, well all but Sofia, and we got you something nice."

Warrick took the envelope and opened it to find it was a cashier's check. "Guys, this is…"

"Enough for a honeymoon. At least Vegas-style." Sara supplied, "we all have agreed to do one double so you can have the week off. I'm also going to cover your on-call shift so you can take Tina on a week-long honeymoon."

"Guys, no, no I can't."

Grissom pushed the man's hand back as he tried to hand back the envelope. "We insist."

"Not taking no for an answer Man." Nick told him.

Sofia nodded to Warrick, "I agree and I'd have contributed if I'd known."

Sara stood up, "I'm going to order from the bar, I'll be right back."

"Excuse me." Grissom stood up and followed after her.

Catherine started speaking about setting up a normal, calm dinner for them to meet Tina, when Sofia looked up at the bar to see Sara leaning against it ordering a drink. Grissom placed his hand on Sara's lower back and slowly wrapped it around her waist. Sofia narrowed her eyes and saw Sara blush and look back at the barkeeper.

Sara looked at Grissom after ordering herself a cocktail, his arm was around her waist. "You're quiet."

"How are you feeling? I know Sofia causes some lingering emotions."

"I'm okay. You telling me about the last few days has helped and my counselor suggested I consider her being back as a new start." Sara reached her hand up and rubbed her thumb against his lapel. "So I am, I'm treating her like I treat the rest of the team."

Grissom watched her, "I just don't want you feeling like she's competition. She's not Sara, I can promise you that."

"I was jealous once but we hashed all that out." The brunette sighed, "you told me you took her to dinner to convince her to stay. I believe you." Her smile returned, "I trust you Gil."

Sensing something off, Sofia turned to Brass. "Can I ask you a question?"

The cop nodded, "you just did but go ahead."

"The way Grissom is holding Sara is concerning me. I mean, it almost seems like she's very uncomfortable. If she is, that's inappropriate contact."

Brass looked over to see Grissom still in the same position he'd been in moments before. However, he was talking to Sara about something while she listened. "I wouldn't be too concerned."

"Jim, if she's uncomfortable it needs to be reported." The cop turned CSI turned detective stated firmly. "I wouldn't want to think him capable of harassment either."

Brass put up his hand, "Sara is a big girl and very vocal against abuse or harassment. If it's not friendly, she'd make this whole place aware."

"Alright." The blonde sighed and looked back at the bar to see the two.

With the barkeeper making her drink, Sara turned to look over her shoulder at the team. She smiled when she saw Catherine talking animatedly to the others, no doubt making plans that Warrick seemed embarrassed about. The newlywed's head was hung while Nick looked five seconds from laughing, Greg definitely was. Brown eyes caught Sofia's blue as the blonde watched her.

"Did you get the evaluations to Ecklie?" She asked as she turned fully to Grissom, he let go of her waist and held her hand, thumb running over knuckles.

"I did and when I dropped them off, he suggested the fact that you have more control over me than Catherine ever did."

Sara laughed and shook her head, "I'm sure she loved hearing that."

"She just reminded me that you've been the one most capable of getting me out of my own head."

Reaching up, Sara brushed his cheek with her thumb. "We already knew that." She held her hand up to show her thumb, "no chalk dust."

"I knew it was a ruse but I didn't mind. You focused me more than anything else at that moment in time."

"Only for the courts to throw it up in public." Sara told him softly.

"That was years ago." He squeezed her hand, "no use in dwelling. We're here, together."

Turning her head to the side for a fraction of moment, Sara met blue eyes with brown. "I could kiss you."

"You could."

"But," she motioned to the room. "I thought we agreed to keep things between us, at home."

"Sara, the team knows. I'm not comfortable with the type of PDA that kids nowadays take part in but hugs and kisses are fine."

Sara smirked, "last chance to back out." When he didn't respond, she cupped his cheek and kissed him. It was chaste and simple but one turned to three before they broke apart.

Wolf whistles made the brunette blush and Grissom use his thumb to wipe the edge of his lip. They looked over to see the boys clapping and Catherine pointing at them. Greg met Sara's eyes and pretended to throw out a ball. She knew it was his metaphorical curveball that he'd subjected Nick and Sofia with the last few weeks. She noticed Sofia and Brass talking about something that was probably their case.

"That's how you do it." Catherine told Sara as she sat down in her chair.

Warrick pointed at her as Grissom joined them, reaching out a hand to rest it on Sara's knee. The newlywed shook his head, "I thought you were a professional."

"I am." Sara smirked, "on the job."

Brass pointed to Sofia, "she was concerned Gil was sexually harassing Sara."

"Them?" Nick asked the blonde. "If Sara was being sexually harassed, the guy would be on the ground after enduring Sara's crazy self-defense skills. That's if she called the cops to begin with. I mean, Sara would hide the body and get away with it."

Catherine looked at Sara and grinned. "Don't worry, I'd help you hide the body."

"I'd help you too."

Warrick looked between them, "okay, this is getting scary. You two do not need to be teaming up on anything."

Catherine waved him off. "Anyway, we're going to dinner one day in the next few weeks with Tina. We need to meet her and make it clear that if she break's Warrick's heart, her body would never be found."

"Whoa, whoa." Warrick looked to Catherine. "That may work on Grissom and Sara but saying anything of the sort to Tina would likely cause her to run. She isn't a CSI, she's a civilian who doesn't understand our world."

Sara, being the level-headed voice of reason, spoke. "I say we each meet her separately before we subject her to all of us. That way she isn't overwhelmed and runs, divorcing Warrick at the same time."

"How is the hot head of the team making more sense than the rest of you?" Warrick stated and then paused, looking at Sara. "I mean that affectionately."

"Of course." She smirked while picking up her cocktail to take a sip.

"I think Sara's plan has merit." Nick told them, "but, Sara will have to rein in Grissom from introducing Tina to his bug collection first thing."

Grissom chuckled, "that's a third meeting. I never show a woman my bug collection the first time."

"You, uh, did with me." Sara had a twinkle in her eyes. "Decomp, entomological timeline, the uh, whole kit just laid out."

He tilted his head to her a fraction. "We met at the Forensic Academy Conference, my dear. It was related to the lecture and you decided to bombard me with questions instead of leaving like everyone else."

The next chapter will be regarding 6x02 Room Service. I hope you liked this episode. It's one of the few that will be longer than a single chapter but I felt like there was a lot to unpack.
