"How is he doing?" Alex asked as Kara approached, following hours of keeping her cousin calm.
"He's okay. Still scared. But his powers seem under control. Have you found a cure yet?"
"No still looking." Alex said. "We have never come across this before."
"But you have Gold Kryptonite?"
"Not directly. But it was used against your cousin about ten years ago. He lost his powers for about a month."
"Where did the Gold Kryptonite come from?"
"No idea." Alex said. "We never figured that out. The good news is then he got powers back. Hopefully this will wear off to. But the combination of red and gold I have not seen before so there is no way to know for sure. But Kara, I know every fibre of your body wants to help people, but promise me you will be careful." Alex pleaded.

"How are you doing?" Diz asked as he and Kara walked through the park.
"I walked from my house to Aunt Kara's without breaking out in a cold sweat so that's progress. Punching Kevin probably helped."
"I wish I had seen that." He smiled. "If you know where he lives we could go for round two."
"Tempting, but I'd prefer not to cause mom to have a coronary." She said. "I'd also like to not be grounded for life."
"You'd be fine she'd just blame me."
"I don't know, I'm normally the goto when it comes to blame." She said as Diz saw two guys walking towards them. Recognising one of them looked at Kara and said.
"Run."
"Wh-" She started but Diz started pulling her back in the direction they had come from. Only more men were approaching from there. Using his body Diz tried to act as a shield for Kara as the men approached.
"Diz." One of them greeted. "Long time." He added as he pulled a knife.
Looking round the group Diz saw all of the people surrounding them had weapons.
Glancing at Kara he said.
"Sorry."
Concentrating he shut his eyes and focused before a silent wave seemed to hit everyone surrounding him, making them sway and fall to the ground. The only thing stopping Kara doing the same was Diz catching her.
"You okay?" Diz asked looking down at her.
"Yeah." Kara said still feeling sick and dizzy.
"It will pass." He said as Kara started to try and reach for her necklace only to find she was lacking all coordination.
"We have to go." He said.
"Wait. Squeeze my necklace."
"What?"
"Please."
"Okay." He said reluctantly doing as he was told. "Now can we go?"
"Sure." Kara said before throwing up.
"Kar?" Diz asked worried.
"Sorry. Really dizzy." She said as Supergirl landed with the adult Alex.
"Kara? What's wrong?" Alex asked hurrying to her side.
"What happened?" Supergirl asked Diz, seeing all the groaning bodies stumbling round.
"We were attacked. I had to use my power. Kar got hurt."
"Let's get you both to the DEO." Supergirl said.

"How are you feeling?" Alex asked approaching her daughter an hour later.
"Still a little dizzy." The teen said. "Room still spinning. Where's Diz?"
"He went home. He's feeling pretty guilty."
"Why? He protected me."
"I know but all he is seeing is that you got hurt." Alex said.
"Did you reinforce that?"
"No."
"Can I have my phone?"
"You think you can use it without throwing up?"
"No." Kara said miserably.
"The dizziness should pass soon." Alex said. "We can give you something to help, but you'll probably pass out."
"So unconscious or dizzy are my choices?" The teen asked.
"I'm afraid so." Alex said. "And either way you are stuck here for tonight."
"I'll take dizzy."
"Okay, but let me know if you change your mind."
-00-
"What's happened?" The teenage Alex asked when Kara entered the house.
"Are you two okay?" Kara asked ignoring the question.
"We're fine." MJ said. "Has something happened to mom or Kara?"
"Kara and Diz were attacked tonight." Kara explained.
"Is Kara okay?" MJ asked.
"Diz used his power to get them out of trouble. But as a result she's a little dizzy but that should pass. That said she is stuck at the DEO until it does. Your mom is staying with her tonight."
"Mom is going to need a pay rise to deal with the shrink bill." MJ commented
"Why were they attacked?" The teenage Alex asked.
"We are still trying to figure that out. Thanks to Diz we caught those responsible, but it will take time to get to the bottom of it. In the mean time you two need to be really careful. So no going anywhere alone."
"Does it have something to do with what happened to Clark?" The teenage Alex asked.
"How do you know about that?" Kara asked.
"Lena called so say Clark's blood chemistry was returning to normal." MJ said.
"That's good." Kara said getting lost in thought. "But no it probably isn't connected, but we can't rule it out."

"Hey. How are you feeling?" Supergirl asked entering the DEO infirmary the next morning.
"I no longer want hurl and I think the room is pretty stationary." The teen said.
"But?"
"Diz isn't answering my messages."
"He was feeling pretty guilty last night." Supergirl pointed out as she handed her niece a box.
"It wasn't his fault."
"I know. But guilt isn't logical." Her aunt reminded her.
"What if he is in trouble?"
"Why would he be in trouble?"
"It wasn't like last time. I wasn't the target, he was."
"I tell you what, you eat your breakfast and I will go check on him."
"Really?"
"Yes, but I can't make him come here. Well obviously I can, but I won't."
"Okay."
-00-
"Did you get any sleep?" The adult Kara asked when she found her sister pacing the control room.
"No. Too much to get through." Alex said.
"By that I assume you mean you have been doing interrogations all evening?"
"No. The attack was reported to NCPD and they pulled the jurisdiction card. All of them were taken to hospital and we aren't allowed near them. Fortunately we managed to get fingerprints and photos first so we have been working through those." Alex said before her tone softened and she added. "But I hear Clark is getting some memories back."
"I was about to head over." Kara said. "But Lena sounded optimistic. And the other good news is Kara is feeling much better." Supergirl pointed out. "Perhaps you should take her home?" As Alex turned to face her Supergirl added. "Kara will be far more comfortable at home. And you need rest."
"You're right." Alex sighed.
"So take her home and get some rest. You know you need to be in top mental condition tonight."
-00-
"Where's Kal?" Kara asked Lena.
"He's gone."
"Gone where?"
"Metropolis. His memories came back and he left. He said he needed to investigate what happened before the trail went cold."
"What trail?"
"He didn't say. But if it makes you feel better all the scans came back normal."
"After which he ran off." Kara said miserably.
"You can't force someone to accept help." Lena reminded her.
"I know. But it's not that he likes working alone, I mean it is. But I was also thinking about what he said to me when he was on Red-K, about never wanting me in his life. And now he is actively avoiding me."
"I don't think his issue was with you or you helping him, I think his issue was with being helped by a Luthor."
"He doesn't see you like that-"
"Yes he does. Trust me, when you were away we had a few run ins and he can't see past the name. And I can't really blame him." Lena said. "The important thing is he seems okay and I have enough data to try and work up a cure should it happen again."
"I guess."
"How's Kara?"
"Alex is taking her home. But this is going to damage her confidence."
"Do you think the attacks were connected?" Lena asked.
"I don't know. They seem so different it is hard to work out how they are connected." Kara said. "But I am not ruling anything out."
-00-
"Hi Kara, what are you doing here?" Wildcat asked when he saw the reporter on his doorstep.
"Important mission to see Diz."
"Well good luck with that. He has reverted to speaking in grunts and hasn't left his room."
"Kara thinks he was the target."
"Yeah, that's reason two he is feeling guilty."
"And reason one?"
"Making Kara sick." Wildcat said.
"I assume you've tried telling him it wasn't his fault?"
"Yeah, but he doesn't listen. Maybe you'll have more luck." He said letting Kara into the house. He then went to a door and banged on it.
"Diz, we're coming in." He then waited ten seconds and opened the door.
Seeing the teen lying on the bed Kara said. "Hey Diz."
Looking round and seeing Kara Diz sat up and asked. "Is Kar okay?"
"She's feeling much better. But she's worried that you aren't answering her messages."
"I'll leave you two it." Grant said leaving the room.
"She'll be better if she doesn't see me." Diz said.
"I think you like Kara and I think because you like her you want to protect her and you think the best way to do that is to stay out of her life. But that isn't the best way to protect her."
"You don't-" He started only for Kara to cut him off.
"My family has a history of sending people away to protect them. And as someone who was sent away it sucks. And it didn't keep me any safer, but it did leave a hole in my heart. Also, I am sure you've noticed this, but Kara is insanely stubborn. She isn't going to let you go."
-00-
"Where have you been?" The adult Alex asked when her sister entered the house.
"I had an errand to run." Kara said. "Where are the kids?"
"Upstairs."
"How's Kara?"
"Able to walk without walking into walls so that's an improvement. Ready to go?"
"Yeah, but first I'll just say goodbye to Alex." She said jogging upstairs.
"Hi guys." She said entering the den.
"Mom." The teenage Alex said before hugging her. "Are you staying?"
"No, I have something to do with your aunt. But I'll be back soon. After that how about we go out?"
"Okay." She agreed.
Kara then looked at her niece and said. "He's okay. But don't expect any comms anytime soon. He needs time."
-00-
"Hello Alex." Max smiled but as Kara walked into the office he added. "And the Super sister."
"Max." Kara replied.
"Still playing with train sets then?" Alex asked looking round the office that had a large holographic display of a train.
"Cute." Max said. "This is the next generation of green transport. Or it would be if I could fix this power coupling issue. But I am assuming you didn't come to talk trains. So what brings you here?"
"Is it just trains you are still playing with or are you still playing with Kryptonite?" Alex asked.
"Kryptonite? Not for years. Why? Wait, does this have something to do with Superman's erratic behaviour?"
"Was it you?" Alex asked.
"Should I clear my desk so you can bang my head into it?" Max offered.
"Would you?" Alex asked.
"Look I know that Kryptonians think they are gods and the universe revolves round them, but I have had bigger concerns than you right now." He said looking at Kara. "In case you haven't noticed my business has been suffering for the last few weeks."
"You mean since the accident?" Alex asked.
"My hyperloop was safe. What happened wasn't an accident." Max said.
"You have proof?" Kara asked.
"Working on it." Max said. "Wait that tone, it wasn't disbelief. You believe me." He added surprised.
"Maybe." Alex said.
"Why?"
"As crazy as it seems we think that it may have been arranged to kill and FBI Agent." Alex said.
"Why?" Max repeated.
"He was working with us on an investigation. We think he was getting too close."
"So why not just kill him. Why kill all those others and destroy my business?" Max asked. "Unless that's it. Let me guess you think Tycho and Stagg are involved." Max said.
"How?" Kara asked.
"They both brought a huge number of shares when prices hit rock bottom." Max said. "They tried to take control."
"They failed?" Alex guessed.
"I also buried my considerable wealth into it so I would have the controlling share." Max said. "I should thank them, because when the share price recovers, I won't know what to do with all the money."
"I thought Tycho and Stagg were buddies for yours from your Lane days." Alex said.
"We all had dealings with Lane, but we were all following our own agenda. I wouldn't say we were buddies, I'd say competitors." Max said. "So what do you need from me?"
"You want to help?" Kara asked suspiciously.
"You know what they say, my enemy's enemy is my friend." Max said.
