A/N: So as some predicted I decided to continue with the story. It starts a few weeks after the last chapter.
A few weeks later...
"Welcome back." Vasquez said as she met Kara and her daughter by the portal.
"Hi." Kara smiled as the portal turned off. "Everything okay here?"
"Yes. Alex is on vacation so it is kind of relaxed. But I didn't say that." Vasquez smiled.
"Anything on Tycho?"
"No, nothing. And since you have been gone it has been really quiet. Which is one the reasons Alex agreed to go." Vasquez said. "How was Argo?"
"It was good. And uneventful, which makes a nice change."
"I bet." Vasquez said. "Do you guys want Ruby to drive you home?"
"No thanks, I'll fly us. I've missed flying." Kara said before grabbing hold of her daughter and disappearing in a blur.

"We've been back for ten minutes and you already have become attached to your phone." Kara said after they got home.
"You've looked at yours too." The teen said.
"Yes, but your one is buzzing incessantly."
"Well, Kara and MJ have a lot to say."
"I thought they were camping." Kara said.
"They are."
"Didn't Alex ban phones?"
"Yes. They smuggled them anyway." The teen explained.
"What are they saying?"
"Help. Get us out of here. Worst week ever. Please help. Chewie wants saving too. Tag us out-"
"They are not saying that." Kara said.
"Yes they are." The teen said showing her mother the messages.
"Want to join them?"
"Why? It sounds terrible." The teenage Alex pointed out.
"To save them." Kara suggested.
"Doesn't sound like I get much out of it." The teen said as her phone buzzed again.
"I thought you wanted to be a hero and help people." Kara countered.
"You told me to wait until after college." The teen shrugged.
"What about Chewie? He needs saving." Kara said changing direction.
"Can't you airlift him out?" The teen asked as the doorbell rang.
"Lena, hi." Kara said as she opened the door.
"Hi. I thought you might be hungry and saved the delivery guy some effort." Lena said passing Kara a couple of pizza boxes.
"You're the best." Kara grinned walking back towards the lounge.
"How was Argo?" Lena asked.
"It was good." Kara said taking a slice of pizza as Alex's phone kept buzzing.
"You're popular." Lena commented.
"Kara and MJ are pleading for rescue." Alex said grabbing a slice of pizza.
"The camping trip?" Lena guessed.
"Yes." Kara confirmed. "We were thinking of joining them. Want to come with us?"
"Kara, when humans evolved they realised it was cold and dangerous outside and started to live inside. First caves, then huts then after a long, long time, the nice air conditioned homes we have now. Why would I want to forget all that evolution to go camping?"
"It's fun."
"Not what Kara and MJ are saying." The teenage Alex said she got another cry for help.
"So is that a no?" Kara asked Lena.
"Yes, it's a no." Lena confirmed. "So when are you off to help the two teens?"
"After pizza. Unless you want to hang out tonight?"
"No, I'm flying to London later. I just wanted to say hello before I went. And to ask favour."
"Anything."
"There's a kid in the children's hospital I am on the board of. They are having a tough time and it is their birthday soon. I was hoping Supergirl could say hello."
"Of course." Kara smiled.
"I'll send you the details."
"What is she to you?" Alex asked as she munched on the pizza.
"Her father was killed by one of Lex's schemes and now she is ill. I feel guilty."
"Lex's crimes aren't yours." Kara reminded her. "But I am happy to see her."
"Thank you." Lena said. "Anyway I need get that flight so I'll will leave you to your rescue operation. I'll see you soon."

"Hi guys." Kara smiled as she landed with her daughter and several large bags.
"Aunt Kara!" The two teenagers greeted enthusiastically as Chewie scampered to the teenage Alex.
"We thought you weren't coming." MJ said.
"Why do you want us to go?" Kara asked.
"No." Both Alex's children said.
"What's in the bags?" MJ asked.
"Food." Kara said. "All the essentials for camping including smores."
"I have never been so happy to see you." He said taking a bag from his aunt and pulling out some potato chips.
"Did your mom forget to feed you?" Kara asked them as MJ and Kara ripped the bag open and started eating.
"It was deliberate." MJ said as he chewed.
"Mom wanted us to find our own food." Kara added eating more of the chips.
"So this is a survival trip?" Kara asked.
"Not now you are here." The teenage Kara said happily.
"Wait." The older Kara said. "Where's your mom?"
"She headed off in that direction." MJ said.
"We may have had a fight." The teenage Kara confessed.
"I'll find her." The older Kara said. "You guys do something with this." She said putting the rest of the bags down.

When Kara finally found her sister she was throwing stones into a river.
"What did that river do to you?" Kara asked.
"Kara! What are you doing here?" Alex asked turning.
"We got back and thought we'd say hello."
"Which one?" Alex asked.
"Which one what?"
"Which one smuggled their phone on the trip then told you I was making them live through hell?"
"So you do know you are doing that?" Kara asked.
"Which one?" Alex pressed.
"You think one of them bought their phone?"
"So it was both?" Alex guessed.
"Are you okay with us being here?" Kara asked changing subjects.
"Of course. Besides the kids will appreciate the lack of discipline."
"Yeah, seeing it is a vacation why is there discipline?" Kara asked.
"After everything that has happened, I want them to develop some survival skills."
"Don't they need a little fun as well? Don't you need a little fun?"
"Probably. But discipline and training is easier." Alex said.
"You so need me around." Kara said sitting next to her sister.
"Yes I do." Alex said leaning against her sister. "This trip has been a disaster. But I just want them to be safe."
"I know." Kara said. "And I am sure that one day, far far in the future they will appreciate it."
"You still suck at lying." Alex said before her sister asked.
"What happened?"
"What do you mean?"
"Before I left for Argo there was no talk of turning this into a weird Bear Grylls thing. And yet here we are." Kara said.
"Just after you left there was an attack, the DEO went in and one of my teams got caught in an ambush. Salkeld was badly wounded."
"I'm sorry." Kara said. "Why didn't you call me back?"
"It was too late there was nothing you could have done."
"Maybe as Supergirl, but I could have been there as your sister."
"I know, but you needed time off." Alex reminded her. "Besides, it is not like this the first time one of the team have been taken out."
"Doesn't make it easier though." Kara said.
"No it doesn't." Alex agree. "Plus I can't help thinking that that I could have done something different."
"You couldn't."
"While I trust the blind faith, you weren't there." Alex reminded her.
"I know that. But I know you." Kara countered. "I mean you are torturing your kids to keep them safe. You prepare for everything and think things through. Sometimes there is nothing you can do, but that doesn't make it your fault."
"Thank you." Alex said. "Ever since the night of the incident I have felt overwhelmed with doubt. Somehow you've made it not look so bad."
"And that is why you should have called me straight away." Kara said.
"Maybe." Alex said.
"So how's your leg?"
"It's fine. I mean I'm not going on any twenty mile runs, but gentle walks are fine."
"Didn't you force march the kids ten miles?"
"It was a gentle walk." Alex shrugged. "So how was Argo?"
"It was good. And Alex seemed to enjoy it."
"And how are you doing?" Alex asked.
"Slightly less freaked out."
"That's progress." Alex said.

"So a whole week without TV?" Kara asked as they sat round the camp fire that evening.
"And food." MJ complained.
"You've had food." His mother countered.
"Barely." He muttered.
"Back to the TV thing, what have you guys been doing?" Kara asked.
"Hiking, fishing, star gazing." Alex listed.
"But no TV, for a week." Kara went on. "That sounds really bad."
"We used to go camping as kids." Alex reminded her.
"For a weekend." The older Kara reminded her. "And we always had food."
"We had food here." Alex said.
"Not smores or chips." The older Kara pointed out as she roasted another smore on the fire.
"Haven't you just come from Argo where they have no smores or TV?" Alex asked.
"She tried to convert them." The teenage Alex said.
"How did that go?" The teenage Kara asked.
"Alura didn't seem impressed." The teen Alex said.
"How was Metropolis?" Kara asked MJ, eliciting a groan from her niece.
"Awesome. How come you don't have a Fortress? It is so cool. And how come you always trash it?"
"What?" The older Kara asked.
"Please can we talk about something other than the Fortress?" The teenage Kara asked.
"What about ghost or horror stories?" The older Kara suggested causing both of Alex's kids to say.
"No."
"Why?" The older Kara asked confused.
"Because mom used to tell us the really weird freaky stories of the aliens you used to fight. And then when she thought we were getting used to it she told us what the humans did." The teenage Kara explained.
"It was terrifying." MJ agreed.
"Well I was thinking more like Candyman and Pennywise."
"Who?" The teenage Alex asked.
"You are in for a real treat." Her mother smiled.
