A/N: Thank you for the reviews.
Guest: I get where you are coming from, I just don't know if I will be continuing writing after this story wraps up.
"How are you feeling?" Alex asked her sister the next morning.
"Like punching something." Kara replied.
"That's progress, I guess." Alex said. "Want me to clear Wildcat's schedule?"
"Yes, but I have too much to do." Kara said.
"I thought Cat had given you an extension?"
"She did, but I can't miss the next deadline."
"Don't push yourself too hard." Alex said.
"I won't." She replied. "So are we driving or flying?"
"I thought you were going to CatCo?"
"After the DEO." Kara said.
"Why are you coming to the DEO?"
"To check on progress and making sure you aren't doing anything you shouldn't. And to distract me."
"I'll drive." Alex said.

"Okay, so we have this new gang who are made up of metas and non metas. Who are run by some one with a history of selling drugs. We know they made a deal to provide a group who may or may not be part of that gang with stolen shoes. Meanwhile we think they will then put drugs in fake shoes and sell them in high end shops."
"But that tactic could work for anything that would fit inside a shoe." Vasquez said. "It doesn't have to be drugs."
"Stagg was trying to give humans powers. What if you could do that with a pill? Or several pills? What if the illegal drugs are ways to get powers?" Alex asked.
"If they are, maybe that is what caused spike and slimer to not only develop powers but also have their cells destroy themselves." Supergirl said.
"But if that was the case we should be seeing far more cases of that happening." Vasquez argued.
"Or, they were test subjects and they have now perfected it." Alex said. "And based on the VR headsets maybe the drugs caused the body to become dependent on them, if you don't take them your cells turn against you."
"It would guarantee people keep buying." Vasquez said.
"It would." Alex agreed.
"It would be pretty sick." Supergirl commented.
"Would someone really risk so much for a random power though?" Vasquez asked.
"What if it isn't random?" Supergirl asked. "I think there is a pattern. I'll be right back." She added before flying off.
"While she does that, any progress on the shipment?" Alex asked.
"Yes and no." Harris said. "The shoes are made overseas then shipped to the US. The cargo ship containing the shipment docked two weeks ago and they were transferred to a distribution warehouse. From there they went to several local hubs. National City is served by three of those hubs. We have hacked into their systems and are looking for all shipments due to go to small or independent retailers. But there are a lot."

"I didn't think I'd see you again." The goth dressed woman said as Kara approached.
"Why not?"
"I scare people. They think I am weird. But trust me, see their waves is much worse for me than them."
"Can you not see people's waves?" Kara asked.
"No. I can't turn it off." The woman said. "It takes the surprise out of life, but it isn't a complete curse. Why are you here?"
"I had some follow up questions if that is okay."
"Of course."
"When the metas were contacted at the centre, were they targeted or was it random?" Kara asked.
"I'd say targeted."
"When you see the waves do you know what powers people have?"
"No, only their personality. I have never seen a correlation between type of power and personality. Any one can be mean." She said before guessing. "You think they were targeted for their powers?"
"Maybe." Kara confirmed.
"I can give you a list of the people targeted and their powers."
"I thought you didn't know them." Kara said confused.
"No. I said seeing their waves doesn't tell me. But to know what powers they have, you don't need powers. You just need eyes and ears. And I watch everyone."

As Supergirl flew into her sister's office she happily started to tell her sister what she had found, oblivious to the rushing round in the control room.
"Okay, so I saw wave girl and she is a little freaky. Nice, but freaky. And the thing is she knows what powers the metas had and I thin-"
"Kara!" Alex interrupted.
"What?" Kara asked.
"Something happened."
"What?" Kara asked before panicking and asking. "Alex?"
"She's fine."
"Then what happened?"
"The convoy was attacked and Duggin was freed."
"By who?"
"We don't know yet. The entire DEO squad was killed." Alex explained.
"I'm sorry." Kara said knowing Alex would blame herself.
"As soon as we know more I will let you know. In the mean time I had Ruby collect the kids from school. They are back home and safe. And apparently we have gained some teens as well." Alex explained as Kara had another thought.
"Alex, he knows who I am. Who Alex is. What if he shares that knowledge?" Kara asked.
"We will stop him." Alex said.
"How?"
"Frax."
"What?" Kara asked.
"Frax found Duggin once, he can do it again." Alex pointed out as Vasquez came in.
"We have a problem."
"What?"
"We accessed the footage of the attack and look who was involved." She said sending the video to the screen.
Looking at the screen they saw Shadow and Bunny.
"Why would they want Duggin?" Kara asked.
"Don't know. But I am pretty sure it isn't for anything good." Vasquez said.
"Let's talk to Frax." Alex said.

"Kara, Alex." Frax greeted before looking at Kara and saying. "I'm glad to see you have recovered."
"Thank you. And thank you for your help finding me. But we need your help again."
"With what?" He asked.
"Duggin escaped and he was helped by some very bad people. We need to find him before he has a chance to hurt Alex."
"Of course." Frax said. "This way." He added as he led them to the bridge. "It will take a moment to run the scan."
"Do you know how Duggin would have known people on Earth?" Alex asked as they waited for the results.
"No. He was on Dakran until a few weeks ago. As far as I know he had never been to Earth before this visit." He said as he typed at the controls before muttering. "Sorry, the magnetic field is fluctuating again, this will take longer than I had hoped." As they waited he asked. "How is Alex?"
"She's okay." Kara said as the lights dimmed, spluttered and then came back to life.
"Don't worry, it's the electronics." He said. "They will return to normal soon." He assured them as the console bleeped. "I have him." He said. "Although that's strange. The reading doesn't look right. But I am sure it is him." He went on as the map displayed on the screen.
"That's very close to where he taken." Alex said frowning.
"Would you like to use our transporters?" He offered.
"Seeing how fritzy your electronics are I think we'll fly." Kara said. "Thank you."

"He's dead. And it looks like he has been dead for a few hours." Alex said as the pair arrived at the body.
"So they free him and kill him straight away?" Kara asked.
"Not quite straight away." Alex said. "They moved him from the convoy."
"Why?"
"To buy time?" Alex suggested. "Or maybe they got the wrong person. Got to here, realised it and then killed him." She suggested before contacting the DEO.
"What if he was the right person?" Supergirl asked. "What if he told them everything?" Supergirl asked. "I need to get to Alex."
"Go. I'll stay here." Her sister said.

Not knowing which teens would be in the house, Kara landed in the drive and changed to normal clothes before rushing into the house calling for her daughter.
"Mom?" Alex called back before jogging downstairs to see her only to be engulfed in a tight hug.
"Are you okay?" Kara asked.
"Apart from suffocated." The teen said, fighting to breathe in the hug.
"Sorry." Kara said loosening her grip slightly, but still holding on.
"What's wrong?" Alex asked.
"Nothing." Kara said finally releasing her. As she did she saw several teens at the top of the stairs.
"Diz, Martin, Kara, MJ, Tom." She reeled off.
"Everything okay?" Her niece asked.
"Fine."
"Okay then." The teenager said turning and leading Diz to the den as MJ shrugged and went to his room with Martin and Tom.
"I know this won't make you look very cool." Kara said as she hugged her daughter again. "But I really need to hug you."
"What's wrong?" Alex asked wrapping her arms round her mother.
"I just needed a hug." Kara said.
"Why?" The teen asked.
"Let's talk through here." Kara said releasing her daughter and taking her through to the lounge.
"Are you sick?" The teen asked.
"No."
"Then what's wrong?"
"There is a chance that the person who took me told Tycho who I was. Who you are." Kara said pulling back.
"So more bad guys are after us?" The teen asked.
"Maybe." Kara said.
"Are you okay?" The teen asked.
"I'm just worried about you." Kara said.
"I'll be careful." The teenage Alex replied.
"I know. But I am still worried about you." Kara said.
"Shouldn't you worry about yourself?" The teen asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I know you still aren't sleeping."
"That's not for you to worry about. All I need right now is to know you are safe." Kara said hugging her again.
