As Steve jogged through the park, getting some exercise in before his early shift, he saw someone huddled against a tree. Concerned they may be hurt he rushed over to them and asked.
"Do you need -" Before he could finish his sentence though he saw who it was and called. "Alex?"
Not getting a response he moved closer and gently touched her shoulder while calling her name. This time her head shot up.
"Steve?" The teen asked, tears running down her face, fear in her eyes.
Seeing how distraught she was looking Steve crouched down in front of her. "Are you hurt?" Seeing her shake her head he asked. "Where's your mom?"
"Don't know."
"Okay, well it's pouring with rain, let's get you somewhere dry."
"Don't have anywhere." She said as he pulled out his phone.
"I'm going to call your mom."
"She won't answer." The teen said.
"Then, do you know Alex's number or Eliza's?" He asked trying Kara anyway.
"They don't want me." The teenage Alex said as Steve was met by an answerphone message.
"I'm sure that's not true." He said as he tried dialling a different number.

"What?" MJ answered half asleep a few minutes later.
"Hi, it's Steve."
"Who?" MJ asked trying to turn on a light.
"Steve. Martin's uncle. I really need to speak to your mom."
"How'd you – never mind." MJ said stumbling out of bed. "Mom!" MJ called walking to her room.
"What is it?" Alex asked dazed.
"Steve." He said passing her his phone and disappearing back to bed.
"Steve?" Alex asked confused into the phone.
"Thank god." He said. "I found Alex in the park near my place. She is distraught and is talking about not being wanted and I can't get hold of Kara."
"I'll be right there." Alex said now fully alert.

"Alex?" The older Alex called as she ran over to her niece who sat huddled under a tree, Steve's sweater draped over her.
"I found her like that. She got even more upset when I tried to move her." Steve said. "I can't see any injuries, but I am worried about exposure."
"Alex?" the older Alex said crouching down in front of her.
"Why are you here?" The teen asked.
"Because something is wrong." The older Alex said, having many questions she couldn't ask in front of Steve. "Are you hurt?" She asked. Seeing the teen shake her head she said. "Let's get you home."
"Don't have one."
"Sure you do." Alex said wondering what had happened. "We need to get you some where warm." She said trying to coax the teen to her feet.
"Do you want me to carry her?" Steve offered.
"I've got her." Alex said protectively wrapping an arm round her niece as they walked to her car. "But can you get the door for me?" She asked nodding at the car.
"Of course." Steve said hurrying to the passenger door.
"There are some blankets in the back." Alex said as she helped her niece into the car.
"Here." Steve said holding them out to Alex, who wrapped them round her shivering niece. "Do you need anything else? My hospital is a few blocks away."
"Thanks, but I'll take her to her normal doctor." Alex said.
"Okay, well call if you need anything."
"I will and thanks." Alex said getting into the driver side.
"Sure." Steve said, watching with concern as they drove off.

"What happened?" Alex asked her niece who sat shivering under the blankets, tears rolling down her face.
"Mom."
"What about her?" Alex asked.
"She told me I was a mistake and unwanted and I had to learn to survive. Then she dropped me." The teen said crying, the story sounding so extreme Alex was convinced she had been exposed to silver Kryptonite."
"Alex, it's okay." The older Alex said flooring the accelerator and going to Lena's lab. As she did so she tried calling her sister. Getting no response she called the DEO and said.
"I need a fix on Supergirl. Call me back when you have it." Not waiting for a response she hung up and dialled her mother.
"Alex, what's going on? Where did you go?" Eliza asked.
"Long story and I can't talk now. I'm with Alex." Alex said, glancing at her niece. "I need you to get the Agents watching the house to go to Kara's and pick up some new clothes for Alex. Tell them to be ready for trouble. Then I need you to get them to bring all of you to Lena's lab."
"Al-"
"Please mom, just do it."
"We'll see you there." Eliza said as Alex drove into the carpark.

"You don't have any traces of silver Kryptonite in you." Alex said walking up to her niece thirty minutes later.
"So it was real." The teen said still hugging a blanket to her body, which was now dressed in a dry tracksuit.
"I don't know what it was. It's possible your mom was exposed to Red K. Did you see her eyes flash red or her veins glow red?"
"No."
"Alex your mom loves you more than anything." The older Alex assured her niece.
"Then why did she do it?"
"I don't know. But I will figure it out. I need your help though." Alex said. "I need you to take me through everything that happened yesterday and this morning. Or if you are up to it, you can show me."
"Okay." The teenager said shutting her eyes.
As Alex finished sharing the memory her aunt stood with tears running down her face.
Hugging her niece the older Alex said. "It'll be okay." She then composed herself and pulled back before saying. "I don't know who that was, but it wasn't your mother. You are the most important thing to your mother." She said. "We will figure this out." She added as Eliza entered the room carrying a bag. Dropping it by the door Eliza rushed over to her granddaughter and hugged her.

"Have you been crying?" The teenage Kara asked as her mother walked into the room the three teens were waiting with Chewie. "Is Alex okay?"
"Yes."
"Then why have you been crying?"
"Alex shared her memories and her feelings leaked through." Alex said.
"What's happened? Is it aunt Kara?" He daughter pressed.
"Sit down." Alex said. Once the three teens had complied she said. "Your aunt attacked Alex this morning."
"What do you mean attacked?" MJ asked.
"None of this makes sense and I am sure what I am about to say makes even less sense to you." She said looking at Diz. "But I need you to stay here and no matter what happens you can't go anywhere near Kara until we know why she is acting like this?"
"Because she is Supergirl?" Diz asked.
"Wait, you know? How? When?" The teenage Kara asked.
"A while ago."
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"Guys, you can discuss that later." Alex said. "Right now I have to go to the DEO and figure out what is happening. I need the three of you to stay here and look after Alex."
"We will." MJ said as his sister asked.
"Can we see Alex?"
"Let your grandmother have a minute with her first." Alex said. "If anything strange happens, call me." Alex added before hugging her two kids. "I'll see you soon."
Once she was gone Kara turned to her boyfriend and repeated her earlier question.
"Why didn't you say you knew?"
"Because then I would have just got another lecture from your mom on keeping quiet and more threats about wiping my mind. Seemed easier to just not say. Plus it was kinda funny watching you all trying to hide it, especially when I questioned your aunt's strength."

"Supergirl is acting aggressively and out of character and as of a few hours ago we have no idea where she is." Alex said as she briefed her team. "Also I don't think it is Red Kryptonite, which is going to make it a lot harder to fight. So for now we need to locate and contain. Vasquez, I am way too close to this, so you work out how to stop her, remembering her suit gives her extra protection. I'll figure out where she is."
"What about the other investigations?" Rose asked.
"If Supergirl has gone rouge she is the biggest threat we face so stopping her is our priority. See if you can use Agent Bell to take up the slack." Alex ordered.
"Yes Ma'am." Rose said.
"You think this has something to do with the molten Kryptonite?" Vasquez asked.
"Good a theory as anything." Alex confirmed.
"I'll start looking into it." Harris said.
"Good, you know what to do, get to work." Alex said before watching everyone apart form Vasquez and Ruby file out.
"Do you want me to stay with the kids?" Ruby offered.
"I think we are past that stage. Kara has already gone after Alex."
"Is she okay?" Ruby asked.
"Physically, yes. But she is traumatised."
"What happened?"
"She told Alex she was a mistake and weak and no one wanted her and it was time she survived on her own. After that she flew her to a park and dropped her. Fortunately her powers protected her from physical harm." Alex said, her hand trembling as Alex's emotions replayed in her head.
"You okay?" Vasquez asked.
"Not really." Alex said. "Let me know when you have something. I'm going to join up with J'onn."

As Alex lay in the room replaying events she suddenly heard an annoying sound. Soon it turned into a familiar voice.
"Hey mini Supes. Miss me?" The overly happy voice of Lobo asked.
"What?" Alex asked sitting up.
"I like you, so I'll give you a chance to see your mom again. If you want to see her, my bike is just outside. It'll take you where you need to go. If you don't come she dies." With that the sound stopped.
