Welcome back to Uncharted Beyond Realms. Last time, Nathan Drake and company arrived in the Ruins of Warfang looking for the first of the three pendants, finding it in the eye of the old mural of Malefor. But shortly after unveiling the pendant to everyone, a pair of eyes appeared in the darkness. So, how's that going to go? Read on to discover...
(Our story resumes almost right where we left it, only with Nathan Drake re-covering the pendant with its miniature coffin lid.)
Nathan Drake: One down, two to go.
Sully: Right, now let's get out of here before somebody realizes what's going on.
?: A little too late for that, old fool.
(Startled by this, the entire team turns around revealing five figures standing in front of the doorway, each clad in similar attire to the Malefic Order Rifleman from the previous night.)
Elena: How'd they find us?
Nathan Drake: I have no idea.
Malefic Order Cultist: If you have any sense in you, you'll turn over what you've found straightaway.
Cynder: (Flaring her wings as a sign of dominance) Like hell we're yielding to you scum.
Malefic Order Cultist: Then you've just committed suicide.
(With that, the five Cultists spring to the attack. But just as they get there, Spyro slams his paws into the ground and casts a giant stone barrier in between the Cultists and his side)
Spyro: That should hold them long enough for us to get out of here.
(And just as Spyro makes this remark, the quintet of Cultists starts chipping away at the barrier)
Cynder: You were saying?
Spyro: Because of course there had to be an Earth dragon in the bunch!
(Sensing combat is inevitable, Nathan Drake checks his belt and realizes he's still got the pistol he acquired at the restaurant. And just as the first Cultist gets through the barrier, Nathan Drake shoots him in the head)
Nathan Drake: Spyro, get Sully and Elena out of here. (Throws the miniature coffin to Elena) Cynder and I'll catch up with you.
(With a nod, Spyro throws Sully and Elena onto his back)
Spyro: Don't worry, there's another way out. We'll catch you two back at Concurrent Skies!
(With that, Spyro, Sully, and Elena leave, leaving Nathan Drake and Cynder to fight off the remaining Cultists)
Cynder: That barrier's not going to last too long without Spyro nearby.
Nathan Drake: The two of us can handle them.
Cynder: How many shots have you got in that pistol?
Nathan Drake: No idea.
Cynder: Let's hope you're a good shot then.
(And just like that, the barrier crumbles. Nathan Drake makes all the shots he has count, and does manage to wound a few of their attackers. But Cynder does the brunt of the battle, hacking and slashing at the Cultists while spraying them with her elements before ultimately blowing them into the wall with her Wind abilities)
Cynder: That takes care of them.
Nathan Drake: Let's get out of here before reinforcements arrive.
Cynder: I'll go summon a Guard to round these ones up and bring them back for questioning. Go catch up with the others.
Nathan Drake: Right. Just follow this road to the end, right?
Cynder: Yeah. Go ahead.
(With that, Nathan Drake leaves the Ruins to catch up with the others, as Cynder menaces the remaining Cultists)
Cynder: Now then. It'll take seven minutes for a Guard to get here once I summon them. (Cracks her knuckles) Seven minutes is all I need.
(With that, Cynder steps outside the doorway for a few seconds, and unleashes a Siren Scream to alert a Guard to their location)
Cynder: Now then. Where were we?
(And as Cynder approaches the Cultists again, our tale ends for today)
And that looks like a good spot to end for now. Yeah, it wasn't much, and is probably a lot shorter than most would have expected from me, but I just started a new job a while ago, and I'm kind of drained from it after a day, plus this is already being written a day later than usual, so please forgive for this. I swear the next one will be a lot more interesting. So, it looks like our adversary has sent in the forces. And nobody in the Guard has detected them yet. How long is that going to last?
