"What is it?" Alex asked wearily as she answered her phone shortly after midnight.

"There has just been a huge explosion in the desert."

"Caused by what?" Alex asked sitting up.

"We don't know yet, but we think Supergirl flew there shortly before-" Rose said just as Alex had another call come through.

"Hang on." Alex said switching calls when she saw it was her sister.

"What have you done?" She asked into the phone.

"I need you to meet us at Lena'a lab." Kara said. "It's Alex."

"I'll be right there." Alex said.

-00-

"What's going on?" Alex asked as she entered Lena's lab, where her niece was lying unconscious on a gurney under solar lamps, and Kara, her Supergirl suit looking like it had seen better days, was pacing.

"We were working on anger management and Alex had a lot of built up anger that she managed to release in a very explosive way. And then she collapsed."

"She probably just used up all her energy." Alex said as she started to hook her niece up to various machines. "Everything is looking okay, I mean there are no obvious injuries, but I will run some more tests."

"Thank you." Kara said.

"You okay?"

"No, but I can wait. Focus on Alex."

-00-

"Well?" Kara asked several minutes later as she nervously loitered.

"She seems okay." Alex said.

"She's still asleep." Kara said.

"I'm not surprised. I mean that explosion was huge." Alex aid. "She would have burnt through a lot of energy." She then paused and asked. "What happened?"

"She was carrying so much anger round and it is my fault."

"How?"

"Most of it was due to me."

"Kar-" Alex started to argue only for Kara to interrupt.

"She said as much."

"Kara, she's a teenager. Being angry at everything is part of that. I don't know what happened out there, but I do know Alex knows how much you love her and how much you do for her." She let her words sink in and then asked again. "What exactly happened?"

"I was trying to help her control her powers and we were doing the projecting emotions into energy."

"The rock blowing up as MJ calls it?" Alex asked.

"Yes. And I was helping her identify the source of her anger and she suddenly let it all out and boom."

"Well as extreme as that was, maybe that is what Alex needed."

"Do you think she solar flared?"

"Doesn't seem to have done." Alex said. "Besides we don't even know if that is a thing for her."

"So what now?"

"Let's give her a bit more time under the lamps then take her home and let her sleep there."

"Okay." Kara said.

"What about you?" Alex asked.

"What about me?"

"Are you hurt?"

"I'm okay, just worried about Alex."

"Well seeing we just agreed to leave her under the lamps for a few hours why don't I check you out as well?"

"Don't you have a home to get to?"

"Right now they are all asleep." Alex said. "Come on, let's make sure you are okay."

-00-

"Why are you up?" Alex asked when she got back home and saw MJ and Diz in the kitchen.

"We went for a run." MJ said before asking. "Everything okay? Why do you have Chewie?"

"Power incident. I need to walk Chewie and get breakfast for your aunt and cousin."

"Do you want us to go?" Diz asked seeing how tired Alex was looking.

"While I appreciate the offer, I need some fresh air." Alex said.

"Want me to come with you?" MJ offered.

"Sure." Alex smiled.

"See you later." MJ said to Diz as he left the house with his mother.

"So what's wrong with Alex?" MJ asked as he walked with Alex down the street.

"What do mean?" The older Alex asked.

"You ran out of the house at midnight. And you said there was a power incident. That sounds like Alex."

"She managed to release too much energy at once and passed out." His mother summarised.

"But she's okay?"

"I think so. Although I imagine she is going to be pretty tired today." Alex said.

"So are you." MJ said.

"Well, I am planning on taking it kind of easy. Unless you or your sister cause any issues."

"Compared to you and aunt Kara we don't cause issues." MJ said before asking. "You sure you are okay?"

"I'm just tired." Alex said.

"Last time you said that you nearly died." He pointed out, causing Alex to come to a stop, much to Chewie's disappointment.

"I promise you I am okay." Alex said.

As the teenage Alex started to wake up she became aware of noisy chewing. Confused she opened her eyes and saw Chewie sitting on the bed eating a muffin.

"Where did you get that?" She asked moments before her mother entered the room.

"You're awake." She said before seeing the dog. "Chewie!" She said frustrated causing him to look over at her before taking the rest of the muffin, jumping off the bed and disappearing.

"I wasn't sure if you'd have the energy to get out of bed, so I left some food in here." Kara explained. "I hadn't expected your dog to eat it. How are you feeling?"

"Okay, tired. And I have a headache."

"Your aunt said you need to replenish your energy so she and MJ bought loads of food, some of which Chewie ate. Try eating something and then I'll get Alex over."

"Are you mad at me?" The teen asked.

"Why would I be?"

"Because of what I said."

"Of course I am not mad."

"Disappointed then."

"Not with you." Kara said. "With me yes."

"That's not what I wanted." The teen said sitting up, only to feel dizzy.

"What's wrong?" Kara moving to her side.

"Just a little dizzy."

"Drink this. It's an energy drink." Kara said passing her a bottle.

"Tastes weird." The teen complained after taking a gulp.

"Right now you need the energy." Kara said picking the bag off the bedside table. "Seeing Chewie has gone through most of this, I'll get you some more. Don't move." She said before returning a second later with a plate full of pastries. "Have one of these and then Eliza is making pasta."

"For breakfast?" The teen asked.

"Try dinner." Kara said.

"What?" The teen asked looking at her phone.

"You needed the rest." Kara said sitting on the bed and hugging her daughter. "I'm sorry you were dealing with so much and that I didn't notice."

"I don't want you to worry about me." The teen said.

"I will always worry about you." Kara said.

"You were right."

"About what?"

"Finding the anger behind the anger and feeling better."

"Yeah?" Kara asked.

"Well I slept for fourteen hours didn't I?"

"That may have more to do with burning all your energy." Kara warned. "But I'm glad you are feeling better. But you need to eat." She said releasing her daughter and waiting for her to pick up a pastry. As the teen ate it she asked her mother.

"How is your search going?"

"What search?" Kara asked confused.

"For your hidden anger?"

"Better now I am free from Worldkiller-1." Kara said. She then looked at her daughter and said. "I need you to know I will never be disappointed in you." With that she hugged her again. "I love you so much."

"I love you too." The teen said.

"Stay here, I'll call Alex over."

-00-

"How are you doing?" Alex asked when she entered her niece's room.

"Okay, I guess."

"She got dizzy." Kara said.

"Are you dizzy now?" The older Alex questioned.

"No, but I haven't moved since."

"Have you managed to eat or drink anything?" The older Alex asked as she checked her niece's pulse.

"That weird sports drink and a pastry."

"Any nausea after that?"

"No."

"Why don't we try walking you to the lounge?" Alex asked.

"Is that safe?" Kara asked frowning.

"You'll be right there with her." The older Alex reminded her sister as the teen got out of bed.

Noticing she was still wearing the clothes she had warn in the desert, which were covered in dust she asked. "Can I shower first?"

"If you can walk to the bathroom without any dizziness." Her aunt said.

-00-

"Hey Sweetie, how's Alex?" Eliza asked as she entered the apartment carrying a large dish.

"She is in the shower, which I guess is a good sign." Kara said before Eliza spotted Chewie.

"Why is Chewie cowering in the corner?"

"Because he is in trouble. He ate Alex's food." Kara explained.

"Stealing food? Wow, he really takes after you." Her sister said. "And he is even pouting to try to get out of it."

"That is why I am not looking at him." Kara said as the teenage Alex emerged from the bathroom, her hair still wet.

"Hi Sweetie." Eliza said before hugging her granddaughter. "How are you feeling?"

"Fine." Alex said yawning.

"Very convincing." Eliza replied. "Dinner will be ready soon. Why don't you sit down until then."

"Okay." She said walking to the couch and picking up Chewie, before sitting down with him.

"He is meant to be being punished." Kara pointed out.

"I've forgiven him." The teen said stroking the dog.

"You bring this on yourself." The older Alex whispered to her sister.

"When are you going to run the tests?" Kara asked her sister.

"What tests?" The older Alex asked confused.

"On Alex, to make sure she is okay."

"I'm fine." The teenager called from the couch.

"I'll do some follow up tests tomorrow." The older Alex said. "Right now she needs calories and rest."

"Fine." Kara said.

"Good. Okay, well I'm going to make sure the house is still standing." Alex said before looking at her niece and saying. "Make sure you eat and rest."

-00-

"Hi." Alex greeted as she walked into the kitchen where her daughter was sitting at the kitchen table with Diz doing homework.

"Hi. How's Alex?" The teenage Kara asked.

"She's awake. She should be okay." Her mother replied.

"Aunt Kara?"

"Slightly less stressed than you might guess. Where's your brother?"

"Upstairs. Tom and Jeff came over, they said something about a project." The teen replied as Alex noticed how tidy the room was looking and asked.

"Why is this room so tidy?"

"Diz did MJ's chores." Kara explained.

"Why?" Alex asked confused.

"I thought that was rule twenty about living here." Diz said.

"I only gave you twelve rules." Alex said confused.

"MJ gave more." Kara said.

"And you listened?" Alex asked.

"I told him not to." Kara chipped in.

"I don't want to freeload." Diz said.

"New rule, no doing MJ's chores." Alex said before noticing a mistake in her daughter's homework.

"You forgot a minus sign."

"What?" Kara asked.

"The integral of sin x is minus cos x."

"Damn it." The teen muttered.

"Still don't see how Alex makes this look so easy." Diz said.

"She has been doing it since she was nine." Kara pointed out.

"I could do this for another ten years and not get it." Diz said.

"Hang in there. One day it will just click." Alex said.
