Welcome back to Uncharted Beyond Realms. Last time, after the Malefic Order found Nathan Drake and company, the group managed to make their way out, just in time for Cynder and the Guard to show up and save their tails. But in that moment, Nathan Drake realizes the only time the enemy could have been told about where they were was when they were in interrogation, and thus, they could only have learned it from Cynder. Obviously, she does not take this accusation well. The group sets out back to Concurrent Skies with Spyro warning Nate not to get on Cynder's bad side. So, how's this accusation going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens up back at Concurrent Skies, where Cynder, Nathan Drake, and Spyro are discussing Nathan Drake's accusations against Cynder from the last chapter.)

Cynder: You have some nerve accusing me of selling you out.

Nathan Drake: I really hope it wasn't, believe me. But that's just where the evidence is leading right now. I figured a cop would appreciate that.

Cynder: Don't even try to talk to me like law enforcement. You're not.

Nathan Drake: Look, if I've learned anything in all these years, it's to trust my gut, sometimes.

Cynder: And what makes you so confident in it this time?

Nathan Drake: The fact that nobody but us knew we were even considering the Well of Souls as a location.

Cynder: That Ancestors-forsaken place was Malefor's base of operations. They probably have a damn pilgrimage to that place!

Nathan Drake: I'm just stating it's possible.

Cynder: And I'm telling you, it's not!

(As the two look like they're about to strangle each other, Spyro buts in and tries to be a peacekeeper)

Spyro: Cynder, Nate, please, this isn't the time for us to be fighting amongst ourselves. (Places a paw on Cynder's shoulder) I know there's no way you could have done this. But Nate does have a point. Someone in the interrogation room is giving them the information on where we were.

Cynder: (Pushes Spyro's paw off her shoulder) Get your hands off me. I can't believe you're honestly taking this seriously. Then again, maybe I shouldn't. We've been at odds since I joined the Guard.

Spyro: I just wanted you to be happy, that's all.

Cynder: Really? Because your very vocal attempts to keep me out of the Guard seem to point otherwise!

Spyro: I JUST WANTED TO PROTECT YOU, OKAY?! I KNEW THE SECOND YOU JOINED THE GUARD EVERYONE WHO HATED YOU WOULD COME OUT OF THE WOODWORK AND MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL!

Cynder: NEWSFLASH, BUDDY. MY LIFE HAS ALWAYS BEEN HELL! THE REASON I WAS SO HAPPY IN THE GUARD IS THAT I COULD STOP OTHER PEOPLE FROM LIVING THE SAME HELL I DID! AND ANOTHER THING, I DON'T NEED YOU LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER ALL THE TIME. I CAN DAMN WELL PROTECT MYSELF!

Nathan Drake: Everybody, please, calm down, we need to...

Cynder: (With Fear infused into her voice) STAY OUT OF THIS, DRAKE!

Nathan Drake: (Hardly affected by the Fear Element) If you say so...

Cynder: You know what? I'm done. I can't put up with this anymore. Every second I'm in this room, I feel like I'm going to strangle one or both of you. (Turning around) I'm going on patrol for a while. And I don't want to see either of you.

Spyro: (Pleading with her) Cynder, please. I'm sorry. I didn't know you felt the way you do.

Cynder: No surprise there. Don't bother following me.

(And with that, Cynder takes off out of the corridor window. And in that moment, Spyro just breaks down in tears, as Nathan Drake looks on)

Spyro: (Now glaring at him) Why did I ever listen to you? Everything was alright before you came.

Nathan Drake: Spyro, I'm sorry...

Spyro: (Turning away) This treasure hunt is yours alone now. I need to find a way to mend my relationship with the only dragoness I've ever loved.

Nathan Drake: (As Spyro approaches a window, about to take off) Where will you go?

Spyro: Home. Mom and Dad should know what I need to do.

(And with tears in his eyes, Spyro takes off, leaving Nathan Drake alone in the hallway)

Nathan Drake: What have I done...?

(And on that reflective question, the tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good spot to wrap up for now. Not exactly the best time for Spyro and Cynder to hash out their relationship issues, and now Nathan Drake has seemingly lost both of them on this quest. So, how will they progress without the dragons? Tune in next time to start finding out. Same time... same channel
